The wolf himself hadn’t woken just yet, a strange change of pace seeing as the two panther kittens where already awake. The two kittens at that moment where laughing and carrying on, the sound of metal on metal rang out as the two used their knives to have something of a practice sword fight with each other. The wolf finally opened an eye as the clanging sound of the knives being batted against one another had started to ring in his mind, sitting up before shouting,\n\n“Knock it the fuck off damn it.”\n\nThe wolf scratched himself a little as he was forced to wake, both kittens saying from the outside,\n\n“Sorry master.”\n\nThe assassin let out a yawn quickly stretching himself out as he finally fully came too, the wolf then asking as he reached over to reclaim his jacket the two kittens had commandeered the night before when it got to cold,\n\n“Do you two have a fire going yet or have you spent all morning dicking around with those knives?”\n\nThe female kitten responded as she opened the tent,\n\n“Yeah we got it going for you master.”\n\nThe wolf nodded getting up and putting on his usual undershirt but leaving his vest, jacket, and cloak in the tent till he needed them. Leaving the tent the wolf sat next to the fire noting the fact that the kittens had the foresight to set up a pot of coffee for him, the small metal kettle sitting on a metal wire frame over the fire, puffing away as to announced its heat. He looked up as instantly the male cub handed him his mug, the girl then fetching the kettle and pouring his coffee. He took a drink with a grimace, there where ground coffee beans in the drink, and it was not that strong, he thought to himself that he’d have to teach them how to make a proper pot of coffee if they wanted to continue to kiss his ass in the future. At that he got up and after finishing a cup or two more made some breakfast, the bacon he had bought knowing full well he’d not be able to carry it for more then a day or two before it started to go bad, and eggs also another food item he had bought with a known timer attached to it. The kittens smiled with delight as they watched all the items go into one large pan, the pan having replaced the kettle on the frame. He sit back down listening to the food crackle as the pan got hot, pouring himself another cup of the poorly made coffee, humoring the kittens who looked on with smiles on their faces thinking that they had done a good job. They waited till the food was cooked, once more the kittens doing most of the work, getting the plates and silverware ready for the wolf to dish up the food onto, the three then eating and then after words getting ready for the day. The wolf made sure the kittens did their chores after that, washing all the dishes then filling the waterskins before he had decided to do anything. The wolf sighed a little looking at all the new items they’d have to haul, remembering how it use to be just him, a bedroll, his bag, and some gear, now adding the leathers for the tent, all the bedding, the cookware and dishes and everything else added to top it off. Looking as the two kittens returned with the clean pan, kettle, and the three plates, also the newly filled waterskins they then put them away. Looking at all the extra crap he’d need to haul wolf sighed then said to himself under his breath,\n\n“We’re going to need a pack horse.”\n\nThe two kittens looked over to him as they heard him mumbling, but paid it no mind then boy then asking after helping his sister put stuff away,\n\n“So master, what are we going to do today? Are you going to teach us something?”\n\nThe wolf shook his head, leaving the two kittens confused, the wolf then getting up and heading into the tent as the boy then asked,\n\n“Why not?”\n\nThe wolf said from inside the tent getting the rest of his gear on,\n\n“The skills of an assassin are not taught in a few days, this is something we’ll spend years on, as it stands there are more important things to do then me drilling you two into the ground with the basics.”\n\nThe two kittens looked at each other, gulping as they didn’t like the way he had phrased that, then looking back as the wolf then said,\n\n“Get dressed then get the tent packed away.”\n\nThe two kittens said “Yes master” in tandem, then doing as told, getting the rest of their gear on then taking down the tent and putting it away as the wolf sat by the fire for a little longer, eating the last stray piece of bacon that reminded. Once everything was put away the wolf put out the fire then lead the kittens away, the kittens showing a visible struggle to lug their now heavy bags, the wolf having told them he’d not be the only one hauling their stuff. He looked back several times as they traveled for a little while till he got tired of the kittens lagging behind him due to the weight of their packs. Stopping for a moment the wolf let out a loud sigh then promptly removed several items from the kittens bags to lighten their loads. As he removed his bag he then stuffed the items in, the female kitten then asked,\n\n“So master, what are we going to do today?”\n\nThe wolf grumbled a little as he said, still affixing the heavy items to his pack,\n\n“Getting money for a horse that’s what.”\n\nThe kittens looked at one another for a moment, knowing full well that the wolf was not happy about the heavy load he had to carry, but nothing could be done about it. Once finished he lead the way once more the added weight slowing him only a little as he planned his next move, a road side tavern that was rested several miles along the road they where on, the very reason he choose this path. It was a well mannered establishment however shady types could always be found around or inside and the owners knew well not to pry, people always looking for people to do jobs in exchange for coin. With so long spent idle at the managers establishment while the boy recovered their funds had gone unattended, now with the need of a pack animal to carry the load of their supplies he’d have to make money again, still as of yet unsure of what to do with the kittens when he did so. They walked for a good while as they made the trek to the tavern where the wolf hopped to pick up a job or two. It was on the ladder half of noon when they finally arrived, the kittens tried even with their lightened packs, the wolf having trained himself for years didn’t show it but even he was starting to feel a little strain, a pack animal was all the more necessary in his mind when he was finally about to set his pack down again. Walking inside of the tavern the wolf noticed instantly several heads turn in his direction, then motioning down to the kittens he then said quietly,\n\n“Put your hoods up and keep them that way, we don’t want these people knowing your faces, to many of them already know mine.”\n\nThe kittens did just that, their black furred faces hidden all too well in their black hooded cloaks, the wolf then leading them to a table in the back and ordered some lunch and a stiff drink for himself. It was not to long after their food had arrived till a man did approach and sat on the side of the table the wolf had left open on purpose, having sat the kittens on his left close to the wall. As he and the kittens ate, he lifted an eye only once to let the man know he was listening then returning to his food, the man then saying in a hushed tone,\n\n“I’ll get right to the point, I need a man killed.”\n\nThe wolf responds with a snide comment putting more food in his mouth after,\n\n“Don’t you all, how mach?”\n\nThe man said as he set a rather light bag on the table,\n\n“I’ve got one hundred pieces.”\n\nThe wolf shook his head the kittens looking at the man as he picked up his bag and walked away, looking up to the wolf who mumbled “cheapskate” under his breath then resumed eating. Not to long after seeing him still free to hire another person approached and like the last sat at the free side of the table, setting yet another light bag on the table saying after,\n\n“Something important was stolen from my family weeks ago, I’ve got ninety gold pieces to the person who,”\n\nThe man takes a moment then putting a strange tone to what he said next,\n\n“Finds it for us.”\n\nThe kittens thinking this an easy job looked surprised when the wolf responded,\n\n“Sorry but I’m busy, maybe next time.”\n\nThe man sighed and walked away with his bag. The kittens looked at one another realizing the wolf must do this often, and he was clearly looking for something special, or at least a higher paying job. The trio had finished their meal soon after, but they remained in their seats, finally a feline woman, tabby in breed looking over her shoulder like she was expecting something to go wrong, said as she hovered over the table,\n\n“Are you the . .”\n\nShe was stopped as the wolf held out a hand, saying as he pointed at the seat across from him,\n\n“You must be new to this, sit down and spit it out, I don’t have all day.”\n\nThe cat flustered and acting like she was being watched nodded then nervously sat in the seat as instructed, the wolf then tapping the table, the girl getting his meaning after a moment or two, setting a coin purse no heavier then the last few on the table. The wolf raised an eye then said,\n\n“You just saw me tell the last two to piss off for that much, what makes you think you’ll get any different? I’m not cheep.”\n\nThe cat nodded then saying trying to plead her case,\n\n“Please, I know its not much, but its all I have, I’m desperate. Two nights ago some men came to our farm and took my father away saying that he owned them a great sum of money, I know it’s a lie because I handle all of our money.”\n\nThe wolf raised an eye brow when he heard the words farm, the wolf then asking,\n\n“And you want me to get him back I take it?”\n\nThe girl nods, almost on the verge of tears as she then said,\n\n“Please, I worry for his safety, these men are well known for being ruthless.”\n\nThe wolf stops for a moment, taking a moment to take a drink from his mug, then asking,\n\n“What do you do on this farm of yours, livestock or crops?”\n\nThe cat looks a little confused not sure what this had to do with her father but thinking it best not to anger him responds,\n\n“Well mainly we do grow and sell vegetables but for the last few seasons we’ve been raising some horses to help us plow the fields.”\n\nThe wolf grins then says leaning forward as he opened the bag,\n\n“Then you miss are in luck.”\n\nOpening the bag and seeing barely a hundred pieces in it he then says,\n\n“I find myself in need of a good pack horse, you add one of your horses to this payment, and I’ll get your father back before the week ends.”\n\nThe girl opens her eyes wide, looking more desperate by the moment as she thought about it for a moment more, the cost of a single house was a high price, but after a moment she nodded saying,\n\n“Alright, I agree.”\n\nThe wolf nods, outstretching his hand to offer it to her, then saying after she reached out and took it the wolf pulling the obvious noobie close, placing his hand on the bag,\n\n“I expect a healthy and strong beast, if I find out later the horse you gave me is sickly or weak, we WILL have words about it.”\n\nShe nods frightened, the wolf knowing now that she’d not try to cheat him the wolf then saying as he got up,\n\n“Lets head to your farm then, we’ll be staying there till the job is done.”\n\nThe cat looks around a little then says,\n\n“But wait, that wasn’t part of the deal.”\n\nThe wolf turns on a dime and then says,\n\n“You really are new to this aren’t you, you either put me up till the job is done or you pay my room and board, you said yourself that this is all you had so unless your holding out on me we’ll be staying at your place. Remember we‘ve not left yet if I so choose so I can still leave your father to his fate”\n\nThe girl stops, then slumps her head agreeing to his terms, the kittens wondering why he was being this way to such a kind girl but then look up when he said,\n\n“Alright we’re going.”\n\nBoth the tabby girl and the kittens nod at once as the wolf then gets his pack from the side of his seat, the kittens doing the same, then follow along behind the girl who lead the way to her fathers farmstead. It took a few hours to get there, the sun on its way down when the girl finally said,\n\n“Well mister uh . . mercenary, this is my fathers farm.”\n\nThe farm itself was a decent size for a farm run by a male and his daughter, a seven acre plot set a little ways behind the house was planted with several different crops of the season, and a small stable where the horses where kept, and a smaller building. From the smaller building came a few people, most likely farm hands, the oldest of them a human man around the age of thirty came out saying as he saw the tabby girl return with the wolf and kittens in tow,\n\n“Miss Vicky, its nice to see you back in one piece, and I take it this is the fellow you hired to help with our current problem?”\n\nThe girl nods, then saying as the wolf walked past her,\n\n“Yes Herman, this is the ass. . . mercenary known as Lone Wolf, and the little ones are his apprentices.”\n\nThe man nodded then saying as he looked at the two kittens,\n\n“offal young to be . . .mercenaries don’t you think mister wolf?”\n\nThe assassin turned and said looking to the human,\n\n“They choose to come, it was their choice and theirs alone, don’t look at me like I kidnapped them and am holding them against their will, and yes they’ve already spilt blood, don’t under estimate them just because they’re young.”\n\nThe man nods then says calling out to a few others,\n\n“Let me introduce you to the other farm hands then.”\n\nA woman no older then himself and a few boys walk up, the man then saying,\n\n“This here is my wife Donna, and my sons Daniel and Mathew, our family has been hands on this farm since I was but a lad myself, Vicky’s father has treated us well for many, many years.”\n\nThe wolf nods then says,\n\n“Yes that’s nice and all, however I’m getting hungry what’s for dinner?”\n\nThe hands and Vicky look at one another at the forwardness of the wolf who then eyes them up with a look that let them know he wasn’t joking around with them Vicky then saying,\n\n“I’ll start dinner now, please make yourself at home mister Wolf.”\n\nThe wolf did just that, walking into her house like he owned the place, setting his pack down then sitting on one of the chairs. The kittens looking around a little before taking a seat themselves. The wolf continued to sit for a while, having been some time since he sat in a chair so nice, the kittens however got antsy as cubs do and went outside to explore the farm. They found the farm hands, the family of humans who had gone out to check on the fields, the boy asking as they got close,\n\n“soo . . Uh what you growing??”\n\nThe father of the family Herman looks to the panther kittens then says with a smile then kneeling down to show them the plants,\n\n“Ah the little mercenaries, well this season the master of the farm decided to grow these pepper plants in this field, they’re looking mighty fine too.”\n\nExposing one of the peppers to the kittens the man then says,\n\n“I’d say they’re about a week or two from being ready for picking.”\n\nThe kittens nod then allow the man to go back to his business, roaming the farm a little long they then saw their master leaving the house with the tabby girl, the pair heading to the stable to look at the horses. They quickly follow after hearing the wolf say,\n\n“Dealing with an assassin isn’t like dealing with your farm hands, If I don’t like what I see here we’re leaving and I’ll take the money with me for wasting my time.”\n\nThe girl nods, a knowing look that even with her and all the hands together they’d not be able to stop him, then thinking about what would happen if they angered him. It was the very reason she sought him out, she head he was the best in these type of dealings. The kittens watched from a distance, seeing for the first time the veil the wolf kept up while he was around them, and seeing the assassin underneath. Quietly following the pair into the small stables, the girl said,\n\n“We have five horses at the moment, two of them are . . . Young.”\n\nThe wolf said in a cold tone, as he saw one of the young horses, nursing off its mother,\n\n“You’d best hope, for your fathers shake that there is a beast in here I can use or you can kiss our deal goodbye, I don’t plan to haul all our shit on my back any longer then I need to, and if you can’t provide it then I need to go find money to get one which your paltry hundred coins won‘t even make a dent into.”\n\nThe girl nods, then showing the wolf to the others, a mare only slightly younger then the mother, and the stallion, the beast stamping into the ground in irritation at the wolfs presence, only for the wolf to shot the horse a cold look, the stallion then backing down. Looking over the horses the girl had to offer, the wolf then said,\n\n“These are all you have? One stallion two mares and two foals?”\n\nThe girl nods then watches as the wolf inspected the two other horses knowing he couldn’t take the nursing mother, the foals wouldn’t survive without her. First looking over the second mare, the younger of the two females, she was strong enough pre say, however she’d not be able to carry a lot and after a few moments of testing her and the mare then sounding her strain the wolf knew it. The girl then looks on in desperation as she saw the wolf shake his head hoping against hope the other mare would have pleased the wolf, said male then turning to look at the stallion. The horse backed away a little till the wolf commanded “Stay!” the horse then doing just that. The wolf looked him over, the stallion was strong and in his prime, he was the kind of beast that would go for a few thousand gold pieces easily at any market. The wolf then put all of his weight on him, the stallion not even flinching, at which point, the wolf nods and says,\n\n“Alright, I think we both know how this song and dance goes, I want the stallion none of the others will do.”\n\nThe girl then said as to pled her case once more,\n\n“But, he is our work horse, we need him to pull the plow, if you take him . . .”\n\nThe wolf turned in a flurry of motion and the fluttering of his cloak, and before the girl could blink his claws where around her neck, the wolf then saying in a dark tone,\n\n“You’ve mistaken me a good person, is it just because I took in the stray kittens. Look you made the mistake of hiring an assassin for a job fitting the local guard, now you must pay the piper, I don’t care how new you are to this game you now play, but in the end I WILL win.”\n\nThe kittens gulp silently watching the wolf with a hint of fear in their eyes, watching the wolf tighten his grip on her neck a little more then saying shoving her into the stable wall,\n\n“You are starting to anger me girl, I want the stallion, is, that, clear?”\n\nThe cat lets out a pained mewl then after a moment saying,\n\n“Alright, please just don’t hurt us. You can have the stallion just please rescue my father and don‘t hurt us.”\n\nThe wolf nods and turns saying letting her go,\n\n“So be it, you’ve just hired the Lone Wolf, don’t however make the mistake of thinking you can bargaining with me like I was some no nothing shop keeper.”\n\nThe kittens quietly run away from the stables, seeing the wolf turning to leave. The two kittens now hiding on the other side of the wall the female kitten holding her brothers mouth closed and vise versa, looking up when the girl asked,\n\n“Why do you act so kindly to those two kittens if this is who you really are?”\n\nThey here the wolf stop in his tracks, there is silence for a few moments before he says, once more leaving,\n\n“Because I actually like them, but perhaps its because in reality,”\n\nHe stops for a moment walking out of the door,\n\n“I actually need them.”\n\n They see him walking away, heading back into the house to wait for dinner. The girl after a few moments follows after, asking in a hushed tone,\n\n“Why does someone with so kind a heart, put on so fierce and cold an act?” \n\nThe tabby shakes her head at the question that wouldn’t be answered and much like the wolf heads back into the house to ready dinner, lest she anger the wolf again. The two kittens are left behind, thinking back to that image in their minds eye of their master, the wolf with fangs bared, with his claws around the tabby woman’s neck, and the memory of him smiling this morning, the two couldn’t help but ask quietly in tandem,\n\n“Which one . . . is his real face?”\n\nThey look at each other for a moment before they hear the wolf give a sharp whistle says after words,\n\n“Dinners ready, come eat!”\n\nThe two kittens lost their train of thought as their stomachs rumble, the two kittens giggling before heading back to the house, making sure to make it look like they where coming from a different direction then the stables, and the wolf with a smile patting them on the heads as they walked in.\n\n~End of Chapter~\n",

The wolf himself hadn’t woken just yet, a strange change of pace seeing as the two panther kittens where already awake. The two kittens at that moment where laughing and carrying on, the sound of metal on metal rang out as the two used their knives to have something of a practice sword fight with each other. The wolf finally opened an eye as the clanging sound of the knives being batted against one another had started to ring in his mind, sitting up before shouting,

“Knock it the fuck off damn it.”

The wolf scratched himself a little as he was forced to wake, both kittens saying from the outside,

“Sorry master.”

The assassin let out a yawn quickly stretching himself out as he finally fully came too, the wolf then asking as he reached over to reclaim his jacket the two kittens had commandeered the night before when it got to cold,

“Do you two have a fire going yet or have you spent all morning dicking around with those knives?”

The female kitten responded as she opened the tent,

“Yeah we got it going for you master.”

The wolf nodded getting up and putting on his usual undershirt but leaving his vest, jacket, and cloak in the tent till he needed them. Looking at all the extra crap he’d need to haul wolf sighed then said to himself under his breath,

“We’re going to need a pack horse.”

The two kittens looked over to him as they heard him mumbling, but paid it no mind then boy then asking after helping his sister put stuff away,

“So master, what are we going to do today? Are you going to teach us something?”

The wolf shook his head, leaving the two kittens confused, the wolf then getting up and heading into the tent as the boy then asked,

“Why not?”

The wolf said from inside the tent getting the rest of his gear on,

“The skills of an assassin are not taught in a few days, this is something we’ll spend years on, as it stands there are more important things to do then me drilling you two into the ground with the basics.”

The two kittens looked at each other, gulping as they didn’t like the way he had phrased that, then looking back as the wolf then said,

“Get dressed then get the tent packed away.”

The two kittens said “Yes master” in tandem, then doing as told, getting the rest of their gear on then taking down the tent and putting it away as the wolf sat by the fire for a little longer, eating the last stray piece of bacon that reminded. As he removed his bag he then stuffed the items in, the female kitten then asked,

“So master, what are we going to do today?”

The wolf grumbled a little as he said, still affixing the heavy items to his pack,

“Getting money for a horse that’s what.”

The kittens looked at one another for a moment, knowing full well that the wolf was not happy about the heavy load he had to carry, but nothing could be done about it. Walking inside of the tavern the wolf noticed instantly several heads turn in his direction, then motioning down to the kittens he then said quietly,

“Put your hoods up and keep them that way, we don’t want these people knowing your faces, to many of them already know mine.”

The kittens did just that, their black furred faces hidden all too well in their black hooded cloaks, the wolf then leading them to a table in the back and ordered some lunch and a stiff drink for himself. It was not to long after their food had arrived till a man did approach and sat on the side of the table the wolf had left open on purpose, having sat the kittens on his left close to the wall. As he and the kittens ate, he lifted an eye only once to let the man know he was listening then returning to his food, the man then saying in a hushed tone,

“I’ll get right to the point, I need a man killed.”

The wolf responds with a snide comment putting more food in his mouth after,

“Don’t you all, how mach?”

The man said as he set a rather light bag on the table,

“I’ve got one hundred pieces.”

The wolf shook his head the kittens looking at the man as he picked up his bag and walked away, looking up to the wolf who mumbled “cheapskate” under his breath then resumed eating. Not to long after seeing him still free to hire another person approached and like the last sat at the free side of the table, setting yet another light bag on the table saying after,

“Something important was stolen from my family weeks ago, I’ve got ninety gold pieces to the person who,”

The man takes a moment then putting a strange tone to what he said next,

“Finds it for us.”

The kittens thinking this an easy job looked surprised when the wolf responded,

“Sorry but I’m busy, maybe next time.”

The man sighed and walked away with his bag. The kittens looked at one another realizing the wolf must do this often, and he was clearly looking for something special, or at least a higher paying job. The trio had finished their meal soon after, but they remained in their seats, finally a feline woman, tabby in breed looking over her shoulder like she was expecting something to go wrong, said as she hovered over the table,

“Are you the . .”

She was stopped as the wolf held out a hand, saying as he pointed at the seat across from him,

“You must be new to this, sit down and spit it out, I don’t have all day.”

The cat flustered and acting like she was being watched nodded then nervously sat in the seat as instructed, the wolf then tapping the table, the girl getting his meaning after a moment or two, setting a coin purse no heavier then the last few on the table. The wolf raised an eye then said,

“You just saw me tell the last two to piss off for that much, what makes you think you’ll get any different? I’m not cheep.”

The cat nodded then saying trying to plead her case,

“Please, I know its not much, but its all I have, I’m desperate. Two nights ago some men came to our farm and took my father away saying that he owned them a great sum of money, I know it’s a lie because I handle all of our money.”

The wolf raised an eye brow when he heard the words farm, the wolf then asking,

“And you want me to get him back I take it?”

The girl nods, almost on the verge of tears as she then said,

“Please, I worry for his safety, these men are well known for being ruthless.”

The wolf stops for a moment, taking a moment to take a drink from his mug, then asking,

“What do you do on this farm of yours, livestock or crops?”

The cat looks a little confused not sure what this had to do with her father but thinking it best not to anger him responds,

“Well mainly we do grow and sell vegetables but for the last few seasons we’ve been raising some horses to help us plow the fields.”

The wolf grins then says leaning forward as he opened the bag,

“Then you miss are in luck.”

Opening the bag and seeing barely a hundred pieces in it he then says,

“I find myself in need of a good pack horse, you add one of your horses to this payment, and I’ll get your father back before the week ends.”

The girl opens her eyes wide, looking more desperate by the moment as she thought about it for a moment more, the cost of a single house was a high price, but after a moment she nodded saying,

“Alright, I agree.”

The wolf nods, outstretching his hand to offer it to her, then saying after she reached out and took it the wolf pulling the obvious noobie close, placing his hand on the bag,

“I expect a healthy and strong beast, if I find out later the horse you gave me is sickly or weak, we WILL have words about it.”

She nods frightened, the wolf knowing now that she’d not try to cheat him the wolf then saying as he got up,

“Lets head to your farm then, we’ll be staying there till the job is done.”

The cat looks around a little then says,

“But wait, that wasn’t part of the deal.”

The wolf turns on a dime and then says,

“You really are new to this aren’t you, you either put me up till the job is done or you pay my room and board, you said yourself that this is all you had so unless your holding out on me we’ll be staying at your place. Remember we‘ve not left yet if I so choose so I can still leave your father to his fate”

The girl stops, then slumps her head agreeing to his terms, the kittens wondering why he was being this way to such a kind girl but then look up when he said,

“Alright we’re going.”

Both the tabby girl and the kittens nod at once as the wolf then gets his pack from the side of his seat, the kittens doing the same, then follow along behind the girl who lead the way to her fathers farmstead. It took a few hours to get there, the sun on its way down when the girl finally said,

“Well mister uh . . mercenary, this is my fathers farm.”

The farm itself was a decent size for a farm run by a male and his daughter, a seven acre plot set a little ways behind the house was planted with several different crops of the season, and a small stable where the horses where kept, and a smaller building. From the smaller building came a few people, most likely farm hands, the oldest of them a human man around the age of thirty came out saying as he saw the tabby girl return with the wolf and kittens in tow,

“Miss Vicky, its nice to see you back in one piece, and I take it this is the fellow you hired to help with our current problem?”

The girl nods, then saying as the wolf walked past her,

“Yes Herman, this is the ass. . . mercenary known as Lone Wolf, and the little ones are his apprentices.”

The man nodded then saying as he looked at the two kittens,

“offal young to be . . .mercenaries don’t you think mister wolf?”

The assassin turned and said looking to the human,

“They choose to come, it was their choice and theirs alone, don’t look at me like I kidnapped them and am holding them against their will, and yes they’ve already spilt blood, don’t under estimate them just because they’re young.”

The man nods then says calling out to a few others,

“Let me introduce you to the other farm hands then.”

A woman no older then himself and a few boys walk up, the man then saying,

“This here is my wife Donna, and my sons Daniel and Mathew, our family has been hands on this farm since I was but a lad myself, Vicky’s father has treated us well for many, many years.”

The wolf nods then says,

“Yes that’s nice and all, however I’m getting hungry what’s for dinner?”

The hands and Vicky look at one another at the forwardness of the wolf who then eyes them up with a look that let them know he wasn’t joking around with them Vicky then saying,

“I’ll start dinner now, please make yourself at home mister Wolf.”

The wolf did just that, walking into her house like he owned the place, setting his pack down then sitting on one of the chairs. The kittens looking around a little before taking a seat themselves. The wolf continued to sit for a while, having been some time since he sat in a chair so nice, the kittens however got antsy as cubs do and went outside to explore the farm. They found the farm hands, the family of humans who had gone out to check on the fields, the boy asking as they got close,

“soo . . Uh what you growing??”

The father of the family Herman looks to the panther kittens then says with a smile then kneeling down to show them the plants,

“Ah the little mercenaries, well this season the master of the farm decided to grow these pepper plants in this field, they’re looking mighty fine too.”

Exposing one of the peppers to the kittens the man then says,

“I’d say they’re about a week or two from being ready for picking.”

The kittens nod then allow the man to go back to his business, roaming the farm a little long they then saw their master leaving the house with the tabby girl, the pair heading to the stable to look at the horses. They quickly follow after hearing the wolf say,

“Dealing with an assassin isn’t like dealing with your farm hands, If I don’t like what I see here we’re leaving and I’ll take the money with me for wasting my time.”

The girl nods, a knowing look that even with her and all the hands together they’d not be able to stop him, then thinking about what would happen if they angered him. It was the very reason she sought him out, she head he was the best in these type of dealings. The kittens watched from a distance, seeing for the first time the veil the wolf kept up while he was around them, and seeing the assassin underneath. Quietly following the pair into the small stables, the girl said,

“We have five horses at the moment, two of them are . . .
