There was the clash of steel a flash of light then silence darkness once again befalling the alleyway. Leaning over the corps of the newly dead cat stands a wolf, sheathing his blade as he then began to check the pockets of the dead leopard, finding a small bag of coins and an amulet, solid gold on a silver chain with a sapphire stone in the center. Looking up, shadows hiding his face, the wolf hears the sounds of clattering armor, guards where on their way, he should leave now which he did pocketing his spoils and then hopping over a wall. Running through some more alleyways the wolf keeps to the shadows dodging guards and then finally skipping out of town through the main gate left unmanned by the very guards that where out looking for him.
He walks down the dirt road nothing but him and the darkness of the night and the chirping of a few nearby crickets. Looking back at the town with a grin on his face, he pulls a piece of paper from his cloak, the paper itself describing a job, in which someone wanted the cat in question killed and the amulet retrieved, describing the cat as a merchant that skipped out on paying a group of crooks what he owed them then left town. Looking at the bag of coins he took off of the body the wolf then says looking at the agreed upon sum on the page, in a deep, yet young sounding tone of voice,
“Easiest hundred gold ever”
Folding up the page of paper, he tucks it back into his cloak, and walks along the road, leaving nothing but darkness in his wake.
~Several hours later, just past dawn~
A ferret stands next to a poll, a hammer in one hand and a piece of paper and a nail in the other. Pressing the paper on the poll the ferret then hammers the nail into the top of it and once finished picks up a stack of papers and a small box of tools and walks away, the paper now nailed to the poll being that of a wanted poster. The page reading, ‘wanted dead or alive’ further down saying that a bounty of five hundred gold would be paid to anyone who could bring in a murder called The Lone Wolf. Described as a tall wolf, about six foot four with gray fur and a scar down the right side of his face. After watching the ferret leave a cloaked figure walks up to the poll takes a moment to look at the page then reaches out with a gray furred hand and rips it down then folding it and tucking it in his cloak then walking away.
The Wolf from the night before with the hood of his dark cloak pulled over his head resumes his trek down the dirt road having stopped at some point in the night to sleep. He looked at the sun in the sky it was a little ways over the horizon, perhaps eight in the morning maybe a little more. He grins walking along the road for about a mile or two more before leaving the road behind and heading to a forest. The forest in front of him, he takes the paper from his cloak and looks at it, noting the meeting place he was to meet the groups messenger, near a large tree some ways in. Nodding he puts the page away and enters the forest intent on collecting his pay for a job well done, or so he’d call it.
Reaching his destination the wolf then leans against the tree till he hears someone approach, walking into view is a scruffy looking rat, in even scruffier looking clothes, the rat in question asking,
“You get the item?”
The wolf dangles the amulet from his left hand, his right on his sword; the rat then saying as he pulled a bag off of his belt,
“One hundred gold pieces as promised”
The rat tosses the bag, the wolf tossing the amulet, both catching their items at the same time, the rat eying the amulet a little then pocketing it says before leaving,
“My boss sends his regards, keep in touch and we may have more work for you later Lone Wolf.”
The wolf nods then watches the rat vanish into the darkness of the forest. The wolf opens the bag quickly counting out the one hundred gold coins in the bag, then satisfied pockets the bag and leaves the forest himself, intent on finding some food.
~half an hour later at a roadside tavern~
Hood over his head and sword on his belt the wolf eats a plate of food, some pork from the looks of it and some other items. He quickly finishes his meal, then seeing a few guards walk in figures now would be a good time to make himself scarce, and slips out with practiced ease as the guards order some food themselves. Watching a few humans and anthros doing some trading outside the small tavern he uses their small crowd to leave without drawing attention to himself as a few more guards did their rounds, patrolling the area. He walks for a short while till he decides to stop sitting down on a bench on the outskirts of a new town, he’d never been here before. He looks over as he spots what looks to be a young black kitten possibly a panther in breed following a human male into an ally, the kitten in question asking what she had to do for the money; he shrugs his shoulders, wasn’t his business after all. After a few moments more yet another kitten, the same shade of black rushes over to him, the kitten, a boy asking in rushed gasps between breaths,
“Mister, have you seen a kitten that looks like me girl sharp pointed ears?”
The wolf opens an eye and sizes the boy up, young from the way he stood and carried himself most likely head strong and protective as well. Closing his eye again the wolf responds,
“Yeah I saw a little kitten just like you moments ago, she wandered into that ally over there with some human.”
The boy nods then dashes past him and into the ally, intent on finding the other kitten. Moments later the wolf gets up and starts to walk away only to have the young boy flung into the street right at the his feet as he walks past the ally. The human in the ally says as he then grabs the other kitten again,
“Stay out of this brat!”
Then turning back to the other kitten he says,
“So where did we leave off little one?”
Undoing the button on his pants he begins to slip out of said pants as the young kitten says a trembling female voice arising from her throat,
“No, no I don’t want to do that, you said you needed help with something and that you’d pay me for helping you.”
He says not noticing the wolf watching from the shadows of the entrance to the ally,
“I do need your help with something, I need your help in getting me off, now shut up and stay still little bitch.”
The boy gets up again as the man grabs a hold of the other kitten's head, trying to force her to suck on his member, but the human turns and strikes the boy who tries to attack him again, knocking the wind out of him then tossing him into the wall saying,
“I said stay out of this bra. . .”
Finally seeing the wolf at the end of the ally the man says, pulling a knife from a pocket in his pants,
“This doesn’t concern you mutt, get lost.”
The man then turns back to the young kitten intent on forcing himself on her only to stop as he heard footsteps walking into the ally. Turning, the man is greeted by a gray furred fist right to the nose, knocking him to the ground. The young kitten takes this chance and dashes away from him, hiding behind the wolf who was now drawing his sword. Spitting out some blood, the man then says charging the wolf,
“Damn mutt, you’re going to die for that!”
Over in an instant, blood splatters against the wall of the ally, the man now dead impaled on the wolf's blade, the wolf in question saying as he pulled his blade from the man,
“Hey asshole next time, watch who you call a mutt.”
Behind him the two young panther kittens compose themselves looking almost like twins once they stood together, the female reclaiming her now torn shirt from the dirt it was tossed into. The boy asks as he is finally able to wobble back onto his feet,
“You ok sis? I told you not to trust him that guy is a know rapist.”
The young cub responds to her brother saying with a certain amount of naiveté in her voice,
“But we needed the money, you heard the town crier he said it was going to start snowing soon.”
The wolf just stands there, wiping the blood from his blade as the two cubs went back and forth only looking over as the young male said,
“Damn look at this sis, he tore your shirt, this won’t keep you warm anymore.”
The young female then responds in turn,
“I said I was sorry, but that being said it wouldn’t have kept me warm once it started snowing anyway, but what are we going to do about this do we have any money left for warm clothes, we‘ll freeze before we starve?”
The gray wolf was about to turn to leave the alleyway and the cubs behind, thinking to himself that it wasn’t his business, then pocketing the small bag of gold coins from the human, guessing that perhaps the man did intend to pay the panther cub for her services. As he pockets the bag the male panther cub says grabbing his arm,
“Hey that’s ours my sister got assaulted for that gold give it back.”
Turning back around the wolf lifts his arm and thus dangling the kitten into the air saying once the boy was at eye level,
“Finders keeps cub, just be thankful I did what I did or you might have gotten raped along with your sister, then both of you killed, now beat it.”
He gives his arm a few shakes which abruptly drops the young male to the ground flat on his rear, then sheathing his sword turns and leaves the ally, however the cubs follow after him much to his annoyance and his every attempt to lose them failed. After a few hours of the two stay panther kittens following him does he decided to take a seat on another bench, the two cubs plopping themselves on both sides of him. Letting out a growl that was more of frustration then anger he then says lowering his hood as a few anthros walked past,
“Wolves eat cats you know, get lost before I get hungry.”
Much to his surprise they stood their ground, both looking at him with their jade green eyes, the young male then saying,
“Yeah yeah, look we live on the streets you know how many threats like that we get on a good day? Just give us that gold you stole from us, we need it or my sister and me will freeze when it starts snowing.”
Grabbing the young male around the throat he then asks,
“And if I don’t you going to make me stray?”
Finally freeing himself, the boy then asks,
“Alright then, what do we need to do to earn that money?”
The gray wolf signs then after a moment of thinking about it, he says his only real intent to scare off the pesky cubs,
“Alright then, you want it so badly then get me off. Blow me then you’ll get your gold.”
Thinking himself clever he sits back waiting for the cubs to leave in disgust, only to be dismayed when the young male says,
“Fine, I’ll do it.’
His breath caught in his throat leaving him gasping for breath as he was taken aback by the young cubs response, then after watching the young panther male start to try to undo his pants, he says pushing the cub away,
“Get the hell off of me, I don’t swing in that direction.”
The young panther cub then responds,
“You said if I get you off you’ll give us the gold.”
Covering his eyes with his palm the wolf then says,
“I meant it as a joke cub, I don’t do other males, maybe if it was your sister then I‘d allow it but I‘m not that interested in cubs anyways, you‘re all to small for a male my size to really enjoy, but I doubt you know what I‘m referring to.”
The young cub responds as the wolf notices a few guards beginning to patrol the area, the wolf then doing his best to hide his face,
“ I . . I . . . well . . . . I only know it involves a boy and a girl. . . . Other then that I don’t . . . .”
Rolling his eyes the wolf then begins to think to himself as the cubs started to rouse the attention of the guards,
‘Fucking hell these brats are going to get me busted, need to get off the streets for the night before the patrols pick up.’
Looking to the young male panther he then says,
“Alright tell you what, lets go to where ever it is you cubs sleep once there we can work something out.”
The two stray cubs look at each other for a moment then nod the female then saying,
“Ok follow us.”
Nodding the wolf gets up and follows the panther kittens just as the guard patrol started to make its way down the street they had been on. They lead him down a trail of paths and alleyways which eventually leads to a hole in the ground near the side of an abandoned warehouse, once inside they stuff several old and dirty bundles of cotton and other such scraps of cloth into the entryway, most certainly to keep the cold out as best as possible. Looking at the make shift room the two kittens had made under the warehouse floors he watches as the two cubs take few tiny pieces of wood from a bag and place it in what looks to be a makeshift fire pit. The young male says as he attempts to start a fire with a pair of sticks,
“Uh . . Just take a seat I guess, this could take some time.”
Looking on as the cub went about trying to get a spark the female said as she offered him a seat,
“We don’t have anything nice to sit on but you can sit here, the ground is softest here.”
He nods and takes a seat making sure that he wasn’t going to sit on anything, then saying as he looks over to the boy,
“Don’t you have any matches? You‘ll never get a spark with those they‘re the wrong kind of wood.”
The boy shakes his head no then responds,
“No we don’t have any, we tried to get some the other day but we decided to spend the last of our money on food instead.”
The wolf sighs then says reaching into his cloak,
“Sob stories won’t get you anywhere with me cub, but I’m cold so use one of these.”
He tosses the young panther cub a box of wood matches, which he then opens and says as he takes one,
“You sure, we don’t have anything to offer in exchange?”
The wolf nods as he leans back and lowers his hood a little bit, noting the drastically dropping temperature in the room; even through his thick clothes and cloak he felt the cold cling to him, he couldn’t guess how they managed to survive it with the rags they had on. Once the meager fire got going it did get a little warmer inside, for him maybe already being in some thick clothing and his even thicker fur under that, the kittens however both huddled around the fire, their thin and worn-out clothing and short jet black fur coats offering no aid against the cold, he finally rolls his eyes and says taking off his cloak,
“Here, this will help keep you warm its pretty heavy.”
He tosses his cloak over to the two cubs who sit together and wrap themselves in it, more then enough room for the two kittens who instantly look better with the cloak already warm from its owners body heat and the fire in front of them. Looking over to the wolf the young cub then responds,
“What about the money?”
He wolf says turning over on his side,
“We’ll talk about that in the morning, its to cold for anything right now.”
Closing his eyes, the wolf decided to get some sleep, but not before making sure his gold was safely tucked away inside of his pants, the only place on his person that would easily wake him up if they tried to get into, then falling asleep.
~a few hours later near midnight~
The gray wolf wakes hearing chattering as he slept, the cold was sapping his energy and frost forming with his every breath. He’d dealt with cold like this before, for his breed it was little more then an annoyance to him, but curiosity got the best of him, and he turned over to look at the two panther cubs, the boy and girl both shivering and chattering as the held each other under the cloak. Once again applying his palm to his forehead he says under his breath,
“God damn it, those cubs are going to freeze like this.”
Sighing he got up and easily scooped up the two kittens holding them close to his body as to warm them up least they catch their death of cold. Then getting up he carefully works his way out of the hole the kittens called home and as stealthy as he could carrying the two shivering kittens, made his way to the nearest inn he could, making sure as to not get caught by the guards without his hood to protect his identity. Luck was both against him and on his side that night, as dark storm clouds rolled in the sky threatened to blanket the town in snow, and as such the guards started huddling around the braziers around town to keep warm rather then doing their patrols, however he felt the kittens get colder and colder, and worry actually took to his face as he then opened his coat he wore and stashed the cubs against his chest closing his coat and then wrapping his cloak around his body to help trap more of his body heat in, cursing his luck that he just had to find a tropical breed of cat like panthers that could not stand the cold that well.
Luckily he manage to make his way to one of the more shadier inns in the town, one he knew by the looks of it they would not bother to ask his name as long as he had the gold to pay their price, and there he got a room, costing him more gold then he would have wanted to spend but the cubs were nearly ice cold when he walked past the threshold, they needed the warmth of a bed and a proper fireplace, which is exactly where he stashed the two cubs, under the warmth of the heavy woolen blankets once he got to the room, He then went to the fireplace in a panic tossing several logs in and setting them a flame. Afterwards he gets under the blankets himself and pulled them close, the two cubs almost as cold as ice. Somehow he managed to fall asleep that night, cradling both cubs in his arms as warmth and life once again filled their supple bodies.
~in the morning~
The morning sun found its way past a few mounds of snow and into the room where the panther cubs found themselves with a strange sensation, the warmth of several blankets and the softness of the bed under them; they had long forgotten these things. Looking over to his sister the male cub sees the wolf with his back to them asleep, his tail idly laid across the girls lap. Carefully as not two wake him they get out of the bed, and stretched then walking over to the welcoming warmth of the fireplace still going from the night before. After warming themselves the female cub asks looking to her brother,
“Why did he bring us here?”
Sitting up from the bed the wolf responds,
“Because you two nearly froze to death last night.”
Looking over to the two cubs the male asks,
“How did you hear us? I thought you were asleep.”
He says looking over to the two cubs,
“Cub, in my line of work you learn to both be a light sleeper and to always hear everything around you that includes in your sleep.”
Taking off the belt is sword was attached two and dropping his purse on the table the male cub asks,
“And whys that?”
He responds looking over his shoulder,
“Because if you don’t have those abilities it will cost you your life, now come on we only have this room till noon lets take advantage of the bathtub I asked for it to be filled with hot water.”
The female cub nods and follows after him the male one left asking,
“At the same time? With you?”
Opening the door to the attached bathroom where a large tub sat the wolf nods and says,
“Yeah at the same time, judging from that light shining into the room I’d say we only have an hour till noon, give or take.”
The female cub then saying as she grabbed her brothers arm,
“Stop complaining, when was the last time we got to have a hot bath?”
The boy nods then joins the wolf with his sister in the bathroom where the wolf had already gotten out of his clothes and into the tub filled to the brim with hot water. The female cub got out of her clothes without so much of a second thought and then joining the wolf, cooing in delight of the hot water, her brother was a little more timid, slowly taking off his clothes then joining, only to see the wolfs length under the water. Once in he sat opposite the wolf who washed himself in the water, only slightly eying the cubs, but then asking as he finally caught the boy peeking at his member,
“What’s wrong cub never seen a cock before, I’m pretty sure you’ve got one.”
The boy nods then says,
“Mines no where near that big”
Laughing the wolf then says,

“Why did you spend that much on this room? Didn’t they have anything cheaper?”

“That they did, however this room had this tub with a hot bath free of charge and also I had to buy the owners silence.”
The girl then says as she does look down to see the wolfs member,
“But we don’t have any money to repay you with.”
The wolf says gently grabbing her rear giving her a knowing look,
“Don’t worry about that we’ll talk money later, for now lets enjoy the bath.”
She nods and takes a seat in the water, the three then cleaning themselves as best they could without the aid of cleaning products. Afterwards they leave the inn as noon rose up over the horizon, and with cubs in tow the wolf skirted the market place, where he found a tailor who was peddling his wares and was able to get some new more snow friendly clothes for the two young cubs at a fair price, afterwards they found themselves at the edge of town, the wolf sat on a bench much like he was when the kittens first met him, only this time they sat next to him enjoying a little snack he had gotten them. He looked in his purse which was nearly empty, maybe about twenty coins left. The male cub then asked,
“So what do we need to do to pay you back for all the money you spent on us?”
The wolf laid his head back and said,
“Don’t worry about the money, I can make more in no time. In my line of work employers pay well, they always do.”
The boy then asks finishing his little meal that in the beginning he and his sister were to hungry to turn away,
“And what is it that you do?”
The wolf sighs then pulls the wanted poster he had torn down the day before and hands it to the cubs, which they unfold then read,
“Wanted dead or alive, The Lone Wolf for multiple counts of murder and theft, a bounty of five hundred gold pieces will be paid to the person who brings him or his head in, no questions asked.”
The two cubs looking over to him as he says,
“I’m an assassin, I get paid to kill or rob, or whatever it is that the employer wants done. As a stray myself I found that you have to learn to do whatever it takes to survive, even kill.”
The wolf then leans forward and says,
“As for the money, if you cubs want to, you can earn it by learning the trade, maybe one day once I’ve taught you’ll be good enough to help me, if you’d rather stay here and freeze to death tonight then I won’t hold it against you. However for the room last night, I might just have ask you two for something.”
The boy asks raising his eyebrow,
“And what’s that?”

He lowers his hood and says as he gives them a good look at the scare on the right side of his face,
“Hey my word is my bond, I may be a wanted killer, but a males word is all he really has. Here is my offer, you let me fuck you, in return I’ll take you both with me and teach you my trade, I’ll treat you like the pups I never had, food and drinks, logging, clothing all included.”
The girl then nods and says,
“Alright then, I agree.”
The boy looks a little shocked then asks,
“Are you sure about this sis, we’ve both heard those sailors at the bar, the first time for a girl is suppose to hurt really badly, you don’t have to if you don’t want to, we can get by.”
The wolf pips up and says putting his arm around her shoulders,

The wolf lowering his head, the boy then agrees, the wolf then saying,
“Well then, shall we go back to your little den, I think something like this should be done in private.”
They nod and show him the way back to their place, once inside the wolf relieves himself of his pants giving both cubs a good look at what the girl would be dealing with, the boy saying with a little more shock then how his sister reacted with,
