An old Sedan puttered towards central town towards a rave venue, a somewhat nervous, effeminate looking puma at the wheel who kept checking and checking himself again in the mirror. “D-do you really think I look good Sandi?” came a light male voice. He had never done this before, he had checked to make sure there wasn’t anyone he knew attending the rave just to be on the safe side. As they stopped at a traffic light, he turned to face a busty, short and pretty fennec fox, “Do you really think I look alright? I don’t look…weird?” he said, sporting glittery eyeliner that matched his pretty lilac eyes, a black halter top and blue flared pants. She had helped him choose, but though he had dressed up a lot in private, he had never dared going out in public like this. Sandi smiled as they drove, her tall ears just about touching the roof of the car, turning towards the feline when he asked his question twice. She understood his paranoia about going out after betraying what society might call the norm. “You look amazing hun. Don’t pay any mind to the ones that can’t see you for you. Just focus on you and me, I’ll be right here with you. There are more open minded people nowadays than you think.” Her hand moved across the seat to gently rub his elbow and up to his shoulder, feeling the soft fur under her pads. “I mean, even if we ran into someone you know, I don’t think they’d recognize you hun. It’s like you’ve always been a female,” Sandi smiled again at him, “we’ll go in when you’re ready, you don’t have to force yourself into any position you’re uncomfortable with.” “Well heh, w-we are already halfway there, would be weird to turn around now besides it would be like ditching my date, I mean…is this a date?” he said, clearly flustered and almost missed the light change. A horn blasted behind him, reminding Louis to drive. “Once you’re out on that dance floor, everything else but the music leaves your mind. You’ll be okay.” There was a small blush creeping onto her cheeks as she regarded his question “I guess it kind of is.” The fennec finished in a joyful whisper and let her paw drop so he could drive, smiling as she sat there. “Y-yeah, I’m sure it will all be fine once we get there um, I’m sure no one will recognise me hehe,” he said with a nervous chuckle. As they pulled up at the large club car park, dozens of furs were passing them by on their own way to the rave, with Louis trying, (and failing,) to hide under the dash with his tall 6’3ft frame and the fluffy end of his tail in the air with the hairs standing on end like a soft porcupine. Gently taking a hold of his tail, she stroked it gently to help calm him down. “Trying to become a fox, Lois?” Sandi said playfully and kept gently petting it, flattening the fur once again. “You’ll be okay.” She said again, her comforting words hopefully penetrated his fear and nervousness. He looked up from the dash, his pupils overly wide in that feline manner with fright before her words sort of worked. “Y-yeah, I’m sure it will. This is just…a big step for me,” he said, her cute face helping him relax more into himself as he straightened up, closed his eyes, and took in some deep, calming breaths. She didn’t move for a bit, just staying with him and trying her best to exude a relaxing aura she could share with him. “If it’s too much, we can go somewhere quieter with less furs.” Sandi added after a few moments. “That way we can ease into things, if you’d rather?” Her paw never left his tail, and while she slid as best as she could, the middle console kept them from getting too close. Relaxing with the puma before Sandi gave a gentle kiss to the tip of his tail, smiling softly over at him. “No…no, you’re right, come on. I have to do this. No one here knows me, it is a good 15 miles outside of town so chances of running into someone I know are slim,” he said before putting a brave face on and grabbed her paw, in part to draw strength from but also because he just wanted to hold her. “Let's do it,” he said with a nervous smile before climbing out. Sandi stepped out after him, joining him at the back of the car. “You’ve got this, Lois.” She gave another encouraging squeeze of his paw, going up on tiptoes to give his cheek a gentle kiss before they walked towards the club. Hearing Sandi call him by a female variation of his name made him pause and smile. He liked it and vowed that is what he would change his name to if he managed to go through with the change. As they drew closer, the throb of music vibrated the air. It was an underground sort of club, the bouncer was a grizzled wolf who checked them over before taking their money and handing them tickets with a grunt. This one went a lot more wild, there were strobe lights flashing, a smoke machine going and the smell of booze was quite palpable. Some who noticed him gave him a look as if they couldn’t decide if he was a guy or girl but some seemed to give them both an appreciative look. They even received a few wolf whistles (with one coming from an actual wolf) though Louis figured they were probably directed at Sandi than at him. “This is…a lot more intense than usual,” Louis had to shout over the din, hardly even able to see where he was going with the smoke machine and blaring lights. “Are you okay?” He roared over the bass throb. Sticking close to Louis, the fennec gave a gentle squeak of a bark as she could just barely hear him even though he shouted. “Yeah, it definitely seems everyone likes to wait until the last days to go to an event.” She shouted back as they shifted through the crowd as best as they could to get to the bar. Sandi’s tail was twitching around madly and ears drooped a little to try and dampen the noise, but she could feel it in her bones. The music never ended, seamlessly moving from one to the next without break. She felt a bit lightheaded already from the stench of the alcohol in the air already. They both got a fair bit of stares, but Louis’ thoughts on them being directed at Sandi weren’t incorrect. Her naturally voluptuous form was quite an eye draw. But that’s not to say a few of the others that were looking the puma up and down. “How are you handling it?” She asked as they eventually reached the bar, its tender coming up to them for their drink orders. Sandi naturally got just the same as last time, a rum and coke, then the leopard bartender turned to Louis to ask for his (or in the leopard’s mind, her) drink. Louis’s own ears were half flattened with how overpowering the music was, his nostrils clamped against the odours but he had to admit, though a lot different the throb of the music was have a primal effect on him with his tail dancing about to the beat and even his foot was keeping pace as he sat down. One slender built feline looked at him, seeming to give him a once over and an appreciative stare at that. The fact that he was wearing his fake breasts certainly helped him to pull off the female look. “I…like it in a way, to be looked at I mean,” he said, trying to keep his voice light and feminine which wasn’t honestly too hard as he was naturally light voiced. “I’ll have an Archers and lemonade please,” he said, or more shouted to the bartender. With a grunt and a nod after his eyes gave an appreciative look at the pair, he served their drinks before going to the next customer. When the bartender left to deal with other thirsty customers, she nodded and leaned in so they wouldn’t have to shout as much. “The looks can be fun. They can also get…creepy.” She said with a small smile. “Hopefully we don’t get someone like that hyena again.” “I’ll be honest, it is different but I kinda want to go wild with the beat,” he said to her. Both of them had glowing wristbands and matching anklets instead of sticks this time. The leopard came back to where they were seated, “Say, there is a poll going on best couple tonight, winner gets free drinks here for a month and on the board with the other winners. What you say, two cute lesbos like yourselves might take it if you go on the floor,” he said with a playful grin. Adjusting rings on her wrists again, her tail wagging madly behind her, she smiled, although half heartedly at the term the leopard used. “Well then, no better way to earn that than to go wild, huh, Lois?” she said and smiled. Just as she asked that question, her ears flitted up as Kandi Raver came on. She quickly grabbed Lois’ hand, a small squeaking bark sounding as she jumped up. “Hey! It’s our song!” She said excitedly. She grabbed her drink before they left the bar, having a small drink of it before she set a card over top of it. “Here, put this over it, so that no one messes, if there’s more than one ring on the bottom of the card, don’t drink it.” She showed the bottom of the card. It was pure white, but scratched at one corner, it flaked easily, exposing black underneath. “You ready to show me some more moves, Lois?” She grinned as he was already getting into the rhythm of the song. Louis’s tail began to wave to the beat, his ears flickering side to side and his foot in time with the tempo. This was a classic he knew well by heart from listening at home, a classic rave track called Kandi Raver. A few couples got up onto the floor, they weren’t bad, but Louis knew he could do better. Offering his hand to her, he gently gripped in his and pulled her onto the floor with the rest before setting a rhythm with his footwork and arms, each motion tracing lines in the air from the neon bands. She danced with him, letting him lead her clumsy foot work into well coordinated motions. The fennec didn’t notice either that the others around them had slowed their own dancing and even stopped to watch. All she could focus on was the tall feline just in front of her. As the track entered its chorus, he was hardly even aware of the crowd parting and a spotlight focussing on them as they danced, moving around each other with Louis gently spinning her and quickening with his movements before suddenly noticing all eyes were on the pair of them. He swallowed and looked at Sandi, searching for confidence as he suddenly felt self-conscious. When he nearly stumbled in the dance, she squeezed his hand and smiled up at him. Their eyes locked, and she pressed in close. She whispered a few words, but the song overpowered the small vulpine easily. “You’re doing great…Just keep with the music.” Sandi wasn’t sure if he could read her lips, but she held the gaze, smiling up at him with a caring and loving look. She saw out of the corners of her eyes that they were being watched, causing a bright blush to appear under her sandy fur. Her tail lashed about as they continued to dance, still letting Louis lead as the song began to near its end. He didn’t need to hear her to get the cute fenenc’s intentions, seeing the look in her eyes. Smiling, he blocked the crowd out and allowed the beat to flow around them, their every movement leaving traces or light in their wake from the bands in the dark. As the final chorus started up he couldn’t help but sing with it, before feeling his confidence brim and pulled her in close to him, feeling her soft body against his own as the music faded. When the song ended, there was a break between the music and all around them whoops, applause and cheers for the couple sounded and filled the entire rave. “Give it up for our final couple in our event!” the DJ said through his microphone as the lights grew brighter over top of Sandi and Louis. “Don’t forget to vote for your favourite couple at the bar!” he said before starting the next song, letting everyone get back into the rave. Louis seemed to snap out of a trance, seeing some staring at him, some with admiration but he thought he saw a few hostile stares now he had revealed to be a male in women's attire. And on top of that, he had the cute fennec, her heavy chest pressed up against his ribcage before quickly letting go like she was a red hot flame about to burn him. “Um so-sorry, I don’t know what came over me,” he said, suddenly looking at his feet shyly, all air of confidence gone with the moment. There was a soft, squeaking murr coming from the fennec, vibrating lightly into his chest before she was let go and he stepped back. Shaking her head, she smiled. Though her ears were flat back as she reached out to take hold of his paw once again, only to have him withdraw it. “You have nothing to be sorry about,” Sandi said and put a paw on his lower back and gently led him away from the dance floor to the bar, noticing some of the glares of a few that they passed. “You were in the moment, I understand that,” she said softly, “we’ll get back into it in a moment, okay? Unless…you needed to…?” Sandi didn’t want to even bring herself to say it. “We can try and find a quieter place to be for a bit if you want?” She took up the carded drink, checking the card she’d placed on top before she downed the rest of the rum and coke in only a few swallows, surprising even herself as she did so. “I-I don’t know um, maybe best just to go home and…” he started, trailing off with his ears flat before and sipping at his own drink before the Leopard bartender interrupted. “So you were a guy all along huh?” He said, starting off with a passive look before breaking into a grin. “Heh I like you kid, that took a lot of guts. Not sure about brains, but it took guts. Hell, some of the local patrons won’t say it, but you look good as a chick. You fooled pretty much all of us, so if you can pull it off the drag act I don’t see why you shouldn’t. Certainly no good if I tried at it,” he laughed, gesturing at his very male and rugged physique. She smiled as the bartender complimented Louis before. “That’d have to be something we’d have to see before we judge.” She said playfully, getting another good laugh from the bartender. Though it was obvious, even something as simple as her drink was, she really couldn’t hold much in her smaller, barely five foot form. “Um yeah, well thanks, I guess?” he said before turning to Sandi, “I’ll stay, after all what is the worst that could happen?” He said with a faltering smile and gripped her hand a bit too tightly for comfort. “Things will be fine, best they can do really is glare. I mean It still is a progressive time, but there will be those who don’t see eye to eye with it. Long as we keep to ourselves, nothing bad will happen, hun.” Sandi said, flicking her short tail, squeaking in a sort of laugh noted to her species. “Don’t worry, you two, I’ll get your back if things get too rough just give a call out,” the tender said and smiled before adding, “plus we have some of the meanest bouncers in this club so very few would be stupid enough to cause trouble,” before he was called away to another pair of customers. “I’ll say this much, everyone working here seems to be a good guy…” She leaned in and squeezed his paw back as tight as she could. “Let's go dance a bit more, take our minds off of things, hm, Lois?” “Heh yeah, it does seem the staff here are pretty cool, though, you look like you are about at your limit,” Louis said as she wobbled and caught her. “Hey, is there a back door where we can get some fresh air?” He said to one of the bouncers. “Ah! It’s only been one drink.” She said as he held her gently to keep her on her feet as he asked the bouncer if there was a back door. “I’m fine.” He eyed him, giving Louis the impression this was one of the few that took issue with him dressing the way he did but was under employ to protect, not to critique so kept his thoughts to himself. He inclined his head to an open double door that led back outside into the fresh air which the puma helped guide a staggering fennec up some dimly lit stone stairs. “Mmh might be best we get you home, unless you feel you can keep going. Just go easy on the drink, your frame can’t hold it,” Louis said with a kind smile at her, his lilac eyes shining in the moonlight, his arm tucked around her to keep Sandi safe and close in the chill of the night. “I’ll be fine,” she leaned into him as he held her close, “it was only one drink.” Sandi reiterated, giggling as she looked up into his eyes with her vivid blue eyes. “You’re such a pretty girl, Lois.” the vixen said softly as they settled against a wall, breathing in the fresh air of the back lot of the club, there weren’t many furs out here and it was surprisingly quiet all by themselves. “I…” she started and then stood up on her tiptoes and gave him a gentle, rum scented kiss. “Still can’t believe it’s only been a few days.” She said, her tone changing from a more shy to a playful giggle, “since we’ve met and we’re already going on dates…?” She said, the tone going to one of more quizzical as Sandi huffed and flicked her tail as she leaned into Louis more for support, her large chest squishing against his lower rib cage again. Louis gulped, feeling his heart rate increase. There was a steadily roaring sound in his ears as he felt himself flush from the feeling of her chest pressing against his ribcage, wondering just what they must feel like beneath the cloth. How having assets like that must feel to carry around and be happy with yourself. Her paws wandered his sides gently, gazing up at him and smiling a cheeky smile as they leaned against the wall of the back lot. “You know we are alone….” She started to say, biting her lip. Louis leaned in, about to kiss her when his member stirred in the outfit, causing a noticeable bulge in his leggings. A soft growl sounded from him before pushing away from her. “No…I can’t Sandi. I don’t want to do this as a male, I hate this feeling, I’d hate myself. I’m still a guy underneath all of this and I’d be taking advantage of you as you are,” his ears pulled back, “and I would hate myself because I hate being in the wrong body.” A cool breeze wafted over their forms, the fresh air helping to sober the pair of them, “I do have feelings for you Sandi,” Louis said softly, tilting her eyes up to meet his lilac ones, his tail slowly swishing about. “But I can’t be happy like this, I can’t feel like I can be in a relationship as I am…you need a woman to be happy with, not a woman trapped inside a male,” he said, tearing his eyes away as tears started welling up and looked out towards the car park. Sandi’s ears fell to the side, the feeling of her heart falling into her stomach made her almost feel like she wanted to throw up. Letting him lift her head, she felt the air ruffle her fur and make the heat of the alcohol dissipate a bit. “I-I’m sorry, Lois…” she almost mouthed as they held eyes. Raising her paws, he turned before she could wipe the tears from his eyes. Looking down at her paws as she brought them to her chest. Clenching her paws, her claws digging slightly into her pads. “I wasn’t thinking, Louis. I know that it can be hard…nothing fully personal. But I can try to understand…” Walking forward she rubbed his lower back gently. “You need someone…and I’ll do my best, Louis. I promise.” She whispered and moved around to stand in front of him. “I love you too, and I want to be there for you.” Sandi stood up on her tip toes and gave his cheek a gentle kiss, her ears flat back as she gave a gentle squeak when she pulled back and looked into his eyes once again, the vivid blues meeting his purple ones. “I can’t promise anything…I might end up losing the person I am once I start with the operations, you might not even recognise me any more when it is all over. I will be just a good friend to you for now until the day comes, but it will take a lot of time to pay off. Are you sure you can stand to be with someone like that? I love and care about you, even though we haven’t known each other that long. You are the nicest person I have known in a long time and about the only person I really care for…” he trailed off with a sigh. “I’m happy if we just stay friends, and would like us to become more eventually…but I don’t want my issues and debt to put a strain on things.” He trailed off, his lilac eyes searching her eyes, reaching his hands out to gently grasp her own. “I will say this though, I can’t remember the last time I had as much fun with another, I wish things were simpler and more straightforward, but I promise to do all I can to shelter you should the worst happen,” he said. She continued to gently hold his hands as he spoke, smiling as he ended his thoughts. “As will I, Louis…Lois.” She gave a sigh and squeezed gently. “Honestly, you aren’t the first I’ve helped through transition. Though I haven’t thought of him in years,” Sandi said quietly, mostly to herself. “We had left on good terms, but of course he got caught up with his new boyfriend.” “But I digress. Point is, I want to be there and help you through your transition. I want to be your friend and I promise to see this through.” She gave a small squeaking yip and wave of her tail. “I would love to be something more down the line, too. Even if we don't, I am always going to be your friend, Lois. Promise” “If I’m being honest, you are already well on your way.” Came her voice after she gave a look up and down his form before locking eyes and giving a rather more encouraging, though subtly hungry, albeit, still drunk look. A pair of wolf whistles caught their attention as a pair of guys stood by their car, admiring the pair of them, not just Sandi, but Louis as well. With her already shapely figure and the meds helping to accent his curves, and the flared leggings and top, he really was hard to tell apart from a female puma. “Heh I guess I am,” he said before turning to look back at her, his eyes trailing on her chest briefly. “I think I know of a way to help us both when the time comes for my final op. They say because of my body I will be hard pressed to grow much of a bust on just oestrogen tablets. But there may be a way to lighten your load and help me in the progress, that is if you are tired of being a short stack?” he said playfully, gently squeezing her hips and leaned in, this time feeling more confident as his muzzle lips brushed her cheek playfully and his long fluffy tail wrapped around her tail. She blushed and smiled, pressing her hips against him in turn, her shorter, thick tail batting gently against his thigh. “Are you talking about that Nano-Op?” She gave a hum of thought. Glancing one way and the next, then hefted her breasts. “It would help with my back pain, losing some of the girls’ mass.” She finished playfully. “I…think you look lovely with or without those to be honest,” Louis said with a slight flush to his ears, “you’ve done more to help me then anyone I have ever known. To me, your looks don’t matter,” he said the last bit quietly, his eyes downcast at the floor and looking like his fur would catch alight. Her cheeks began to glow slightly under her fur with blush at his flattery. “I appreciate that, sweetie.” Sandi bit her lip slightly and held his paw. “But I do want to help you, naturally. I’d be happy to…but isn’t it still experimental?” Sandi said quickly to distract herself as they leaned in against each other as they breathed in what fresh air the city held for them. “I’ll do it still, I mean, just want to know what we are getting into is all.” Her ears fell flat sideways as she gave a goofy smile. “They say they have worked through the bugs, those that were affected by the beta testing were corrected and it is ten times cheaper than surgery. If you don’t I won’t make you, I’d never force you to do something you didn’t want to do,” he said, though the look in his eyes told him he hoped she would least consider. “And maybe when I have had my trans surgery…we could then think about being an actual couple?” “I do want to…but maybe something we could work out when we get there, we’ve still plenty of time to think about things.” She said, looking into his eyes and squeezed his paws firmly as she could, rubbing her thumbs against the back of them. “As for a couple…that we’ll also talk about when the time comes. I do love you, Lois. And I don’t think that would change even if you decided lesbianism isn’t exactly your forte.” Sandi giggled and squeezed his paws again before looking at the loud music that came from the back door as a worker came out for a smoke break. “Heh, I think I can live with that,” Louis said as he squeezed her small hands in his larger ones, looking back to where the music was blaring from as the door opened. “And to be honest even though I feel like a woman, I still feel attracted to females, oddly more so than ever since starting my meds,” he admitted with a small chuckle. “For now though, I’m feeling a bit calmer. If I stick to mocktails, I should be okay to go back into the rave, if you want? I mean we’ve only had one dance, Lois.” Sandi giggled and stood up on her toes again to give the feline another cheeky kiss, squeaking as she did. Blushing, his heart pounded in his chest at the kiss and before he could help himself, he pulled her deeper into the kiss, taking her muzzle in his own, feeling her warm and comforting against his body before catching himself and letting go as though she was suddenly burning hot. “I’m so-sorry, I um, I don’t know what came over me,” he stammered, looking to the ground with his ears back, holding his tail in shame. She was taken back when he took a gentle hold of her, pressing her close. When he let go, her cheeks were as flushed as his were, her ears falling back seeing the state of him. “You don’t have to be sorry, Lois.” She said, continuing to use his feminine name. “I know both of our feelings and it felt nice,” Sandi whispered, “it might be hard, honestly, to want to wait, I'll admit.” She finished and smiled up at the feline. Taking his paws and rubbing the tip of his tail, she kissed him again, this time on the cheek. “Let’s go give ourselves some distraction.” “I get that…I might not be able to control myself around you at times just to warn you. I have spent my life hiding who I am from others, pretending to be someone I am not. I have never met someone I can just be me…” he said, still looking down before she grabbed his hand, making him look into her kind, cute face. She chuckled and nodded. “You can be you whenever I’m around. I’ll help you feel the woman you’re supposed to be.” She said kindly. Sandi gently rubbed his tail tip and held his paw with the other, leading him back towards the rave, thankfully catching the back door back in before the worker had finished his smoke break. The music once again blasted in their ears, the thrumbing of the music rattled in their chest and already Sandi felt lively once more. “Can I have this dance?” She wriggled her tall ears and squeezed Louis’s paw tight. “Yeah, lets,” he said, smiling and dancing with her as the music pulsed around them, their glowing bands leaving trails and streaks through the dimly lit room as they let their bodies flow with the music, Louis having the natural edge due to his tall, lithe body and picking and gently twirling Sandi from time to time. * After the rave, Louis drove them home to his place. “Hey, it’s pretty late um, would you want to sleep at my place?” He said tentatively, “I know we aren’t a couple yet so don’t worry, I could sleep on the sofa if you like?” he said with a shy smile. “I understand if that is uncomfortable though, I don’t mind dropping you off. Just it’s…nice. I enjoy being around you Sandi,” he said, a gentle purr coming from him before catching himself. Sandi leaned back into the seat and smiled as she was chauffeured, turning her head, Sandi gave a wide smile as he almost hesitantly spoke his mind. “It was definitely a wondrous night, Lois, I had a wonderful time.” Sandy flicked her giant ears. “I would love to stay at your place…but you don’t have to sleep on the sofa, I don’t take up that much room.” The fennec giggled. “You’re my guest, and I can sleep just fine on the sofa, I slept fine before when I have been unable to make it to my bed after a long shift at work,” he chuckled. “Don’t underestimate the tight spaces I can fit into,” he said, suddenly feeling a bit conscious of the suggestive implication. “I don't doubt that. Well, the girls do, but something tells me you won’t mind.” She said in jest. “We should get you a nighty, maybe red?” Sandy finished as they pulled up to the block of flats. Climbing the stairs, hand in hand, they got to the door of his apartment. Sandi paused and looked out the window on the end of the hallway, almost gobsmacked. “Wow, the city looks amazing at night from up here.” She stepped towards the window, waving her short tail slowly and sensually. “I actually do have a nighty, maybe we could go shopping sometime for a new one though? It would be nice to have a friend’s advice on some garments,” he chuckled before looking out the wide window. “It may be a craphole, but it does offer a beautiful view,” he said with his tail wrapped around the pair. “And after the operation, I can’t wait to make things more between us,” he said softly. “I can’t wait either, Lois.” Sandi whispered and leaned into him as they enjoyed the view, her shorter tail wagging slowly under his as they leaned into each other. Unknown to them, a shady figure was lurking around the corner of the building, hearing everything he said, and doing his best to hide his growing revulsion.
