"writing": "Collared Chapter 27: This is Halloween\nBy TerraMGP\n\n\t“I still don’t get why we’re doing this.” Gretchen stood at the bottom of the step ladder with an arm full of seemingly random crap. Fake spider webs, those silly plastic spider rings. A dollar store spider-man action figure. Streamers and little plastic glow in the dark ghosts. Every once in a while she’d pass one of the items up to her Master. Justin bopping along with a frantic sounding tune about a magician that Gretchen unfortunately recognized for its singer. Bruce Dickinson. That the day would come when she recognized someone that mainstream and vulgar was rather annoying. Worse, the more she learned about him from her owner’s ramblings the less contempt she felt.\n\n\t“It’s our first party at the house. This should be special. Plus it’s our first real holiday as a throuple. Don’t you want it to be memorable?”\n\n\tThe unexpected point about their relationship caused her to blush savagely. She squeezed her bundle tight and winced when a few plastic spiders clacked on to the floor. “I mean that wouldn’t be bad. But is Halloween really a big party thing? We aren’t kids anymore. We can just go out and buy our own candy. Right now, in fact.”\n\n\tThe otter lept from his perch and gripped her muzzle hard. Before she knew what was going on Gretchen felt warm breath and a forceful tongue shoved into her muzzle. The boy leaned over her and her knees began to buckle. The poor girl melted like a candle at the forceful affection. Her fuzzy cheek nuzzling needily into his paw even as he pulled back and gazed into her eyes.\n\n\t“My dear, Halloween is ‘our’ time. It’s queer Christmas. Which, ok technically a bad comparison but-”\n\n\t“No I get it.” The mole muttered bashfully, still reeling from the kiss\n\n\t“Right. The whole point of the night is for us to put our hair down. Be ourselves. Our real selves. No pretense. No hiding. No tempering ourselves for the normies. Especially here.” He took a step away from her and swept his arm in a grandiose arc over his head. That rudder tail knocking the dropped spider toys off to one side. “For my people, it was a time of spirits. A time when the worlds of living and dead neared the point of intersection. People hid their faces to protect form spirits and fairies. But us? We are the spirits. We are the fairies. We are the creatures of the night who hold sway.”\n\n\t“You know how cringe that all was, right?” Even as she said it Gretchen couldn’t help but admire his conviction. Especially the way he smiled when he looked back at her. He knew, and it seemed he didn’t care.\n\n\tHe flashed her a roguish smile and flipped the ladder into his paw, carrying it over to the other side of the living room doorframe so that he could scamper up and run some more of the webbing along towards it. “My dear, I am made of cringe.”\n\n\tShe resisted the urge to say something and instead offered up her armful of random decorations. The chaotic tangle of materials and pointless ephemera grated on her mind any time she looked at it. So, naturally, she decided to not look. That seemed to work, and sooner than she expected the decorations around the living room and dining room were all in place.\n\n\t“How does it look?” Justin beamed proudly.\n\n\t“Like Shelob threw up all over Murkwood.” Gretchen’s glib, flat tone really nailing the point in\n\n\tStill, her Master was unphased. He yanked his favorite coat off of the hook by the door and snatched up his keys in one somewhat-fluid motion.\n\n\t“Well what’s done is done.” He laughed “Come on. We just have time to nab some stuff from Meijer before our Bilbo’s order is ready.”\n\n----------\n\n\tThe party itself wasn’t big. Hui, Becky and Esme had arrived early so that they could all get their costumes on before hand and that alone had almost doubled the number of people in the house. Others had shown up after. A couple of Ozzy’s friends first, then a bunch of women who didn’t seem to be wearing costumes. And of course her older sibling.\n\n\tHui counted thirteen people in all. Absolutely a coincidence. But it still made her smile.\n\n\tIt had all been a pain. Getting her parents permission was the hardest part. She had to convince them that not only would Justin behave himself but that he’d protect her from anyone else who might be at the party. Once that was done it was easy to dig out her old Futaba cosplay and the matching Ren outfit she’d gotten for Justin before finally rigging up a Sumire one for Gretchen.\n\n\tGod it was so cute being able to pull off her favorite video game Throuple!\n\n\tAs promised there was no alcohol. There was pizza stacked high and cheap store bought cookies and other baked things. None of it made here, as to be expected. The rule was quickly established that whoever was near the door passed out the candy to trick-or-treaters. It was also established not to eat any yourself, a rule that sadly had to be made once one of Ozzy’s friends decided to mow down on half the Reese’s cups in the bowl.\n\n\tIt all felt heady to the point of overwhelming. Gretchen was knelt by her side and hadn’t dared to move save for a few sprinted runs to the table in order to get them food. Everyone else was milling around. The hotel season of ‘American Horror story’ blaring in the background. Justin had been very clear upon Hui and the others arriving that RHPS time started promptly at 10:12. That was a few hours off. Plenty of time to enjoy some good food and good company.\n\n\t“You know you don’t have to hang around the door if you don’t want.” A semi familiar voice chuckled from behind her. Hui turned to see Ozzy, shirtless in leather pants with an odd looking top-hat covering his dreds and much of his face. He said he was Slash when the night started and it took an embarrassingly long amount of time on the Chrono Trigger wiki before Gretchen realized that he was the musician the minor villain was named for.\n\n\t“I just know a few more sets of kids were coming. I saw em when I handed out the last bit of candy.” Hui’s smile beamed. It was an odd thrill. She felt so grown up. Like the lady of the house passing out the candy while her guests enjoyed themselves. The fact that she didn’t live here and that it wasn’t even really Justin’s house didn’t much matter in the end.\n\n\tOzzy nodded and then looked down towards the lump of grey fur clutching to Hui’s shin “She doing ok?” He sighed, reaching down to offer Gretchen a paw.\n\n\tThe mole batted at the paw and hissed a bit before burying her face into Hui’s thigh.\n\n\t“I think she got her wires crossed. Futaba is supposed to be the one with social anxiety. She’s Sumire. We’ll have to work on staying in character won’t we girl?” Hui playfully ran a paw along Gretchen’s cheek until her little pet calmed down. Unfortunately that calm seemed to be a long time coming. That was annoying as hell for Hui, as she looked down at the half finished slice of mushroom and black olive pizza sitting there on her plate in her hand, with no way to actually take another bite.\n\n\t“So where did Ma- er, Justin go off to?” Her big bushy tail curled around a whimpering Gretchen. The question alone suggested that they may move soon, and the idea seemed to stun lock the poor young woman.\n\n\tOzzy smirked and tossed a thumb over his shoulder. “Willa and her coven asked for some help moving something for their bonfire. Naturally he jumped at the chance.”\n\n\t“He always does that.” Hui sighed “His dad used to praise him for carrying the cooler at the beach and now he just has to show off like that all the time.” It did bring a smile to Her face, whatever else Hui could say about it. So many thing had changed and it was nice that this hadn’t. \n\n\tHui leaned over and looked around the large frame separating the front door area from the ‘living room’ proper. She saw Ozzy’s chubby husky friend in a very low effort zombie costume trying to chat up Xiulan who was supposedly dressed as a ‘vampire’ though really she just had ill fitting plastic fangs and an outfit more suited to a rave. Becky was beside her watching the TV and eating pizza, her costume simply one of those masks from that online horror show about a cult. Esme had at least put in some effort. A cheap gas mask and a distressed old suit that made her look like a Fallout NPC. The gasmask itself was raised and thus acted as a makeshift Hijab substitute, though it did make Hui wonder where she got it. \n\n\t“Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves at least, Mistress.” Gretchen muttered even as she scooted in closer.\n\n\tAnother soft caress of Gretchen’s cheek as Hui slipped back against the wall and let herself slump down to a near squat. “If it helps, pet, I don’t think we’ll end up having more people than this when we all finally have our own place. Not unless you somehow become the queen of the social butterflies in the coming years.”\n\n\tThe very idea made Gretchen balk and physically cringe. That was more than response enough. For now, Hui was content to wait. Gretchen had said their Master wanted the three of them to talk tonight. But until then there was nothing wrong with enjoying her first real Halloween party as an adult.\n\n--------------------\n\n\t“So I don’t get it.” Augie’s words were emphasized by his makeup. Somehow the cheap Spirit Halloween zombie fur paint emphasized his stark look overwhelming confusion.\n\n\tBecky simply sighed and leaned back into the couch. As was habit she almost pulled her knees to her chest, until realizing that pizza and a handful of frosted Halloween cookies would go flying all over. “So the detective is going crazy looking for a killer who’s theming his killings after the Ten Commandments. Right? That’s an homage to the killings in Seven.”\n\n\t“Is that what the killer was doing in Seven?” Augie quirked his ears and shot a half glance over at Becky. A glance that was meant to at least partially give him a look at the carefree Xiulan stuck between them.\n\n\t“No.” Becky sighed. “He was doing it for the seven deadly sins. That’s why it’s an homage. There also wasn’t a ghost in Seven. Or an evil hotel.”\n\n\tAugie nodded his head emphatically and turned back to the TV “and I’m guessing that there wasn’t some vampire Prince played by Lady Gaga either? Still I might have to check that flick out some time. Seems kinda a shame that they don’t make a Vampire: the Masquerade show or anything.”\n\n\tThey did.” Becky’s sigh crushingly heavy “Back in the 90s. I actually watched some of it on you tube once out of morbid curiosity.”\n\n\tAugie sat up and wagged his tail at the mention of that. He leaned his bulk over the couch with his hands pressed against the cushion “And?”\n\n\t“It’s like everyone’s first Vampire game shot by the people who did the Highlander TV show.” Becky’s glib tone held a small hint of amusement \n\n\t“And that’s… good?” Augie whimpered his confusion\n\n\t“Not good.” Esme noted “Not horrible either. What Becky means is that it’s exactly cheesy enough that she enjoys it but not cheesy enough for her to ever admit to it as a ‘guilty pleasure.’ Somehow.”\n\n\tThe accusation was enough to draw a disgruntled sigh from Becky without actually giving her any room to protest. Xiulan meanwhile covered her muzzle at her own shrill giggle fit. The only one of the four confused was Augie, who simply turned his attention back to the TV with a renewed effort to suss out what was happening.\n\n\tAfter a short while a gloriously golden-feathered hawk boy trod into the room, three plastic cups pushed between one arm and a band shirt with the word Ghost written in heavily stylized letters over some rather chaotic art. “Hope my buddy here isn’t bothering you ladies too much.” He chuckled while doing his best to hand out the drinks. Two of the cups ended up on the floor anyways due to lack of proximity to an end table. Esme at least was able to set hers on the table, and offered the man a small nod.\n\n\t“So I don’t think I get your costume.” She curled coyly on to the arm of the couch.\n\n\t“Me? Isn’t it obvious?” Beck snickered. “I’m a ghost. Or if that’s too lazy you can just say I’m a pretentious music hipster.”\n\n\t“Isn’t that your shirt.” Augie huffed As usual the insult slid right off of his friend who gave him a wink and leaned back in his own seat wetting the tip of his beak in his own cup.\n\n\tEsme smiled at him. Hardly something anyone would call flirtatious, but certainly friendly. “Thanks. Though aren’t you guys in a band? I figured you’d have some place to be tonight. A concert or a house party or something?”\n\n\t“Nobody wants to hear me getting my Roger Waters on while they’re trying to seduce the sexy nurse before she vomits her weight in Tequila. We aren’t really that big anyways. Point is more just to get out there and jam.” Beck gave a cheeky little turn of his beak to the gecko girl, then cast his eyes on Augie who had looked away from the TV and was now staring daggers at his friend.\n\n\t“This from the same guy who keeps telling us we gotta get more original music in our set if we want to build our fan base? You’re acting real calm for someone who’s always bitching about how bad it is working at Staples and trying to get us to take gigs half way across the state.”\n\n\tBeck’s grin only seemed to grow at the corners of his beak. “Well yeah.” He nodded “But I’m usually not feeling this good. Probably the edible kicking in. Chloe was selling her usual brownies but this time with some cute orange frosting and those lil sugar gravestones.”\n\n\t“Wait, is that why it took you so long to pick me up?” Augie snapped “And where’s my brownie then, huh?”\n\n\t“Dude, since when do I buy your hash brownies for you?” Beck waved a wing and curled himself up a bit more in his seat. “You knew we couldn’t bring shit here because of the high school kids. If you didn’t pregame that’s on you. Besides, you’re the one who wanted to come here most. Remember? Wanted a chance to simp over your favorite e-girl in person without having the game get in the way?”\n\n\tAugie slipped from his seat while waving his paws frantically. His eyes shot to Xiulan for a moment and then to Beck “Shh, come on, man. Why do you gotta make it awkward?”\n\n\t“Wait, are you one of my Onlyfurs subs?” Xi couldn’t help but giggle at the prospect. Her eyes lit up watching him scramble and seeing the blush on the chubby puppy’s cheeks.\n\n\tAugie looked off to the side and nodded “I, well yeah. Look I’m not trying to creep or anything but you are kinda really hot.”\n\n\t“But isn’t she streaming as a boy when doing all that stuff?” Beck snickered.\n\n\t“Still hot.” The dog boy bashfully admitted.\n\n\t“I really don’t feel like I should be hearing any of this.” Esme huffed ‘If you wanted to ask someone out you should just do it. Don’t creep on them at a party.”\n\n\t“Ok.” Becky sighed, the badger pulling herself up and nudging Xiulan towards Esme “I’m just gonna slip myself in here for now. I know he may not mean anything, but I do think you need to show your friend the definition of ‘parasocial’, Beck.”\n\n\tThey all went quiet for a few moments. Eventually Augie returned to his questions, only occasionally shooting glances at Xiulan. The five of them slipping slowly back in to normal conversation.\n\n--------------------\n\n\tKitchens aren’t generally what people consider romantic locales. Especially not the cramped old kitchen shared by the four college students. The Linoleum was peeling, Cabinets were falling apart and outside though the screen door could be heard the rituals of Willa’s coven. Not that they sounded bad or anything, however they didn’t exactly set a mood. Nor did the Game Grumps PT episode blaring from the living room.\n\n\tJustin fussed with his outfit and slipped himself up against the sink, looking between the two girls. He’d practiced this in his head over and over again, yet now that he was here that all evaporated. He was nervous. Fearful, even. He wore a plastered on smile that threatened to break with the slightest of cracks.\n\n\t“So, I feel like I should have talked about this before.” Justin sighed. “Gretchen especially. I know you don’t have the full story. Honestly I should have told you about everything back before we started… I guess dating? Whatever this is.”\n\n\t“S-sir I” Gretchen winced as a raised finger silenced her. Not harshly. If anything Justin’s face was full of pain. But it still felt like a rebuke.\n\n\t“Last year.” He sighed “Last year Xi and I, well ‘Collin’ and I, were blackmailed by a teacher. It was sexual, but it also got to be really fucked up in other ways, too. There was some bonding. I’d be lying I said she didn’t end up helping me out. But it was still… it was still rape.”\n\n\tThe words fell from his mouth like Ash. Gretchen looked in shock between her Master and Mistress. She could feel her heart race. Terror, confusion, and a few other things she was utterly ashamed of. Things that her brain insisted she shouldn’t have in her head at the moment. Which began to snowball as even as Justin continued.\n\n\t“What Ryan did was, in theory, fine. He got consent from both of you. It was a scene. I know what scenes are like. That’s part of my job now, it seems. But it wasn’t just a scene. He was ‘testing’ me. I get it. I do. If I’m the Master then it’s my job to keep you two safe. It’s my job to keep any fucked up impulses I have in check or else I could end up being a monster. This life we live can be dangerous if you don’t pay attention. But watching him do that. Watching him push that hard. Then finding out it was just some ‘test’…”\n\n\tThe words died. Choked off. Tears starting to form in Justin’s eyes.\n\n\t“I think I told you before.” Hui chimed in with her own soothing words while putting a paw on Gretchen’s shoulder. She almost reached for Justin as well, but stopped herself mid way “Ryan is like a big brother to Justin. He looked up to him. I don’t’ think he meant to cause any harm. I think he was hoping it’d be a fun surprise after the test. But…” Hui shook her head feverishly “I should have realized. Ryan didn’t know. It’s my fault in the end. I betrayed Justin’s trust after all of these years because I got too horny about something extreme.”\n\n\t“It’s not your fault.” The words lacked the conviction they perhaps should have had. “I know I was mad. I know I said some things. But I don’t blame you.”\n\n\t“Yes you do.” Hui muttered matter of factly.\n\n\tJustin shifted uncomfortably and looked down at his feet. The room went quiet as he swayed this way and that for a few long moments. “I guess part of me, yeah. But I get it. We’re fucked up. We’re broken. The shit we find hot other people find horrific.” He looked her in the eyes, then his gaze turned to Gretchen. The mole yelped a bit, her cheeks blushing furiously as she nodded her wholehearted agreement.\n\n\t“I guess that’s part of what scares me.” he sighed “That part of me liked being used, being… raped like that. It doesn’t make what Ms. Blake did ok. It doesn’t make that ok at all. But Ryan was worried how far I might go. Maybe there’s reason for that. Maybe I am just sick. That’s what I started asking myself when the initial shock and anger wore off.”\n\n\t“A-and?” Hui’s voice cracking\n\n\t“And I don’t know.” he huffed wearily “I know he hurt me. He hurt me in a way I don’t think I can ever fully forgive him over. I also know he didn’t mean to. I know neither of you meant to. Gretchen didn’t even know. And well I know I love you Hui. I know I always will, and I think, Gretchen…”\n\n\tEverything stood still. She looked into his eyes. For once in her life Gretchen Bergfeld felt the stress and anxiety and over thinking draining from her while she hovered, perfectly balanced, with her chin on the knuckle of his index finger.\n\n\tThen he said the words. She knew he said them. She saw him say them. The poor girl quickly deteriorated into a stunned ball of tears and a bit of snot while trying to mouth them back.\n\n\tInstead she was kissed. Firmly. Justin pressing his tongue gently into her muzzle and against hers. The kiss lasting for a moment before she was guided to Hui’s lips, the girl eagerly holding her pet in close and shoving an eager kiss into her waiting and wanting muzzle.\n\n\tSomehow she stayed standing though that, and after. She watched in a haze as her two owners locked lips. Their muzzles opening softly as they shared a kiss. A soft, sweet kiss. The kiss of two lovers bound by their souls. Arms wrapped in a soft embrace and bodies seeming to throb as one as their breath synched up.\n\n\tAll three of them were teary eyed by the end of it. Justin in particular struggled to regain his composure while shifting from foot to foot. “L-like I was saying though. Thinking about it, I want to be with both of you from now on. So whatever brand of fucked up we are, I think we can keep each other in check. I can trust you two, and I hope you can both still trust me.\n\n\t“A-and that means we can start to call you Master again, right?” Hui chirped\n\n\tJustin nodded softly and ran a paw though her hair. “I just want to make sure we’re all in the right headspace. We’re all part of a family, even if it’s a very fucked up one. We’re more than just kink delivery devices for each other.”\n\n\tBoth girls nodded in unison. Hui a bit more committal than Gretchen. Still it seemed enough to satisfy Justin. He snapped his fingers and pointed down. Both girls standing in shock a moment before they knelt there on the dirty kitchen floor. He offered up one of his shoes and Hui tenderly leaned in to kiss the cheap leather. Gretchen followed suit, and the two girls bowed their heads. Happy to once again be in their place.\n\n--------------------\n\n\tThe Trick-or-treaters had all long gone. Mini heath bars and chick-o-sticks kept the kids from egging the house. Now what was left of those candies along with large bowls of popcorn and a cooler of pop cans sat in the living room while everyone prepared.\n\n\tJustin, Hui and Gretchen were all cuddled up on a small pile of blankets leaning back against the couch. Augie had eventually taken a seat beside the couch to help offset some of the awkwardness and allowed Becky and Xi to cuddle. Esme curled herself up in her own spot, gas mask now down while she looked though the thick lenses. Beck took Ozzy’s usual chair while Ozzy sat with his back against the table beside it, well within reach of a larger popcorn tub.\n\n\tOutside one could hear the singing of the coven carrying out whatever rituals they were doing and the faint smell of a bonfire tickled the noses of all assembled. \n\n\tJustin held the Playstation controller in paw and gave one last look around the room. “Ok, everyone set? This here is a double feature so try not to get up if you don’t have to.”\n\n\tSmall nods and smatterings of affirmation. He’d timed this out perfectly. Rocky Horror would end at midnight, then Shock Treatment right after. A bit of ritual to help bind the new friends and found family.\n\n\tOnce he was sure everyone was settled he hit the play button, and the show began.\n",
"writing_bbcode_parsed": "<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'>Collared Chapter 27: This is Halloween<br />By TerraMGP<br /><br />\t&ldquo;I still don&rsquo;t get why we&rsquo;re doing this.&rdquo; Gretchen stood at the bottom of the step ladder with an arm full of seemingly random crap. Fake spider webs, those silly plastic spider rings. A dollar store spider-man action figure. Streamers and little plastic glow in the dark ghosts. Every once in a while she&rsquo;d pass one of the items up to her Master. Justin bopping along with a frantic sounding tune about a magician that Gretchen unfortunately recognized for its singer. Bruce Dickinson. That the day would come when she recognized someone that mainstream and vulgar was rather annoying. Worse, the more she learned about him from her owner&rsquo;s ramblings the less contempt she felt.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;It&rsquo;s our first party at the house. This should be special. Plus it&rsquo;s our first real holiday as a throuple. Don&rsquo;t you want it to be memorable?&rdquo;<br /><br />\tThe unexpected point about their relationship caused her to blush savagely. She squeezed her bundle tight and winced when a few plastic spiders clacked on to the floor. &ldquo;I mean that wouldn&rsquo;t be bad. But is Halloween really a big party thing? We aren&rsquo;t kids anymore. We can just go out and buy our own candy. Right now, in fact.&rdquo;<br /><br />\tThe otter lept from his perch and gripped her muzzle hard. Before she knew what was going on Gretchen felt warm breath and a forceful tongue shoved into her muzzle. The boy leaned over her and her knees began to buckle. The poor girl melted like a candle at the forceful affection. Her fuzzy cheek nuzzling needily into his paw even as he pulled back and gazed into her eyes.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;My dear, Halloween is &lsquo;our&rsquo; time. It&rsquo;s queer Christmas. Which, ok technically a bad comparison but-&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;No I get it.&rdquo; The mole muttered bashfully, still reeling from the kiss<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Right. The whole point of the night is for us to put our hair down. Be ourselves. Our real selves. No pretense. No hiding. No tempering ourselves for the normies. Especially here.&rdquo; He took a step away from her and swept his arm in a grandiose arc over his head. That rudder tail knocking the dropped spider toys off to one side. &ldquo; For my people, it was a time of spirits. A time when the worlds of living and dead neared the point of intersection. People hid their faces to protect form spirits and fairies. But us? We are the spirits. We are the fairies. We are the creatures of the night who hold sway.&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;You know how cringe that all was, right?&rdquo; Even as she said it Gretchen couldn&rsquo;t help but admire his conviction. Especially the way he smiled when he looked back at her. He knew, and it seemed he didn&rsquo;t care.<br /><br />\tHe flashed her a roguish smile and flipped the ladder into his paw, carrying it over to the other side of the living room doorframe so that he could scamper up and run some more of the webbing along towards it. &ldquo; My dear, I am made of cringe.&rdquo;<br /><br />\tShe resisted the urge to say something and instead offered up her armful of random decorations. The chaotic tangle of materials and pointless ephemera grated on her mind any time she looked at it. So, naturally, she decided to not look. That seemed to work, and sooner than she expected the decorations around the living room and dining room were all in place.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;How does it look?&rdquo; Justin beamed proudly.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Like Shelob threw up all over Murkwood.&rdquo; Gretchen&rsquo;s glib, flat tone really nailing the point in<br /><br />\tStill, her Master was unphased. He yanked his favorite coat off of the hook by the door and snatched up his keys in one somewhat-fluid motion.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Well what&rsquo;s done is done.&rdquo; He laughed &ldquo;Come on. We just have time to nab some stuff from Meijer before our Bilbo&rsquo;s order is ready.&rdquo;<br /><br />----------<br /><br />\tThe party itself wasn&rsquo;t big. Hui, Becky and Esme had arrived early so that they could all get their costumes on before hand and that alone had almost doubled the number of people in the house. Others had shown up after. A couple of Ozzy&rsquo;s friends first, then a bunch of women who didn&rsquo;t seem to be wearing costumes. And of course her older sibling.<br /><br />\tHui counted thirteen people in all. Absolutely a coincidence. But it still made her smile.<br /><br />\tIt had all been a pain. Getting her parents permission was the hardest part. She had to convince them that not only would Justin behave himself but that he&rsquo;d protect her from anyone else who might be at the party. Once that was done it was easy to dig out her old Futaba cosplay and the matching Ren outfit she&rsquo;d gotten for Justin before finally rigging up a Sumire one for Gretchen.<br /><br />\tGod it was so cute being able to pull off her favorite video game Throuple!<br /><br />\tAs promised there was no alcohol. There was pizza stacked high and cheap store bought cookies and other baked things. None of it made here, as to be expected. The rule was quickly established that whoever was near the door passed out the candy to trick-or-treaters. It was also established not to eat any yourself, a rule that sadly had to be made once one of Ozzy&rsquo;s friends decided to mow down on half the Reese&rsquo;s cups in the bowl.<br /><br />\tIt all felt heady to the point of overwhelming. Gretchen was knelt by her side and hadn&rsquo;t dared to move save for a few sprinted runs to the table in order to get them food. Everyone else was milling around. The hotel season of &lsquo;American Horror story&rsquo; blaring in the background. Justin had been very clear upon Hui and the others arriving that RHPS time started promptly at 10:12. That was a few hours off. Plenty of time to enjoy some good food and good company.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;You know you don&rsquo;t have to hang around the door if you don&rsquo;t want.&rdquo; A semi familiar voice chuckled from behind her. Hui turned to see Ozzy, shirtless in leather pants with an odd looking top-hat covering his dreds and much of his face. He said he was Slash when the night started and it took an embarrassingly long amount of time on the Chrono Trigger wiki before Gretchen realized that he was the musician the minor villain was named for.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;I just know a few more sets of kids were coming. I saw em when I handed out the last bit of candy.&rdquo; Hui&rsquo;s smile beamed. It was an odd thrill. She felt so grown up. Like the lady of the house passing out the candy while her guests enjoyed themselves. The fact that she didn&rsquo;t live here and that it wasn&rsquo;t even really Justin&rsquo;s house didn&rsquo;t much matter in the end.<br /><br />\tOzzy nodded and then looked down towards the lump of grey fur clutching to Hui&rsquo;s shin &ldquo; She doing ok?&rdquo; He sighed, reaching down to offer Gretchen a paw.<br /><br />\tThe mole batted at the paw and hissed a bit before burying her face into Hui&rsquo;s thigh.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;I think she got her wires crossed. Futaba is supposed to be the one with social anxiety. She&rsquo;s Sumire. We&rsquo;ll have to work on staying in character won&rsquo;t we girl?&rdquo; Hui playfully ran a paw along Gretchen&rsquo;s cheek until her little pet calmed down. Unfortunately that calm seemed to be a long time coming. That was annoying as hell for Hui, as she looked down at the half finished slice of mushroom and black olive pizza sitting there on her plate in her hand, with no way to actually take another bite.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;So where did Ma- er, Justin go off to?&rdquo; Her big bushy tail curled around a whimpering Gretchen. The question alone suggested that they may move soon, and the idea seemed to stun lock the poor young woman.<br /><br />\tOzzy smirked and tossed a thumb over his shoulder. &ldquo;Willa and her coven asked for some help moving something for their bonfire. Naturally he jumped at the chance.&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;He always does that.&rdquo; Hui sighed &ldquo; His dad used to praise him for carrying the cooler at the beach and now he just has to show off like that all the time.&rdquo; It did bring a smile to Her face, whatever else Hui could say about it. So many thing had changed and it was nice that this hadn&rsquo;t. <br /><br />\tHui leaned over and looked around the large frame separating the front door area from the &lsquo;living room&rsquo; proper. She saw Ozzy&rsquo;s chubby husky friend in a very low effort zombie costume trying to chat up Xiulan who was supposedly dressed as a &lsquo;vampire&rsquo; though really she just had ill fitting plastic fangs and an outfit more suited to a rave. <br /><br />\t&ldquo;Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves at least, Mistress.&rdquo; Gretchen muttered even as she scooted in closer.<br /><br />\tAnother soft caress of Gretchen&rsquo;s cheek as Hui slipped back against the wall and let herself slump down to a near squat. &ldquo; If it helps, pet, I don&rsquo;t think we&rsquo;ll end up having more people than this when we all finally have our own place. Not unless you somehow become the queen of the social butterflies in the coming years.&rdquo;<br /><br />\tThe very idea made Gretchen balk and physically cringe. That was more than response enough. For now, Hui was content to wait. Gretchen had said their Master wanted the three of them to talk tonight. But until then there was nothing wrong with enjoying her first real Halloween party as an adult.<br /><br />--------------------<br /><br />\t&ldquo;So I don&rsquo;t get it.&rdquo; Augie&rsquo;s words were emphasized by his makeup. Somehow the cheap Spirit Halloween zombie fur paint emphasized his stark look overwhelming confusion.<br /><br />\tBecky simply sighed and leaned back into the couch. As was habit she almost pulled her knees to her chest, until realizing that pizza and a handful of frosted Halloween cookies would go flying all over. &ldquo; So the detective is going crazy looking for a killer who&rsquo;s theming his killings after the Ten Commandments. Right? That&rsquo;s an homage to the killings in Seven.&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Is that what the killer was doing in Seven?&rdquo; Augie quirked his ears and shot a half glance over at Becky. A glance that was meant to at least partially give him a look at the carefree Xiulan stuck between them.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;No.&rdquo; Becky sighed. &ldquo; He was doing it for the seven deadly sins. That&rsquo;s why it&rsquo;s an homage. There also wasn&rsquo;t a ghost in Seven. Or an evil hotel.&rdquo;<br /><br />\tAugie nodded his head emphatically and turned back to the TV &ldquo;and I&rsquo;m guessing that there wasn&rsquo;t some vampire Prince played by Lady Gaga either? Still I might have to check that flick out some time. Seems kinda a shame that they don&rsquo;t make a Vampire: the Masquerade show or anything.&rdquo;<br /><br />\tThey did.&rdquo; Becky&rsquo;s sigh crushingly heavy &ldquo;Back in the 90s. I actually watched some of it on you tube once out of morbid curiosity.&rdquo;<br /><br />\tAugie sat up and wagged his tail at the mention of that. He leaned his bulk over the couch with his hands pressed against the cushion &ldquo; And?&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;It&rsquo;s like everyone&rsquo;s first Vampire game shot by the people who did the Highlander TV show.&rdquo; Becky&rsquo;s glib tone held a small hint of amusement <br /><br />\t&ldquo;And that&rsquo;s&hellip; good?&rdquo; Augie whimpered his confusion<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Not good.&rdquo; Esme noted &ldquo; Not horrible either. What Becky means is that it&rsquo;s exactly cheesy enough that she enjoys it but not cheesy enough for her to ever admit to it as a &lsquo;guilty pleasure.&rsquo; Somehow.&rdquo;<br /><br />\tThe accusation was enough to draw a disgruntled sigh from Becky without actually giving her any room to protest. Xiulan meanwhile covered her muzzle at her own shrill giggle fit. The only one of the four confused was Augie, who simply turned his attention back to the TV with a renewed effort to suss out what was happening.<br /><br />\tAfter a short while a gloriously golden-feathered hawk boy trod into the room, three plastic cups pushed between one arm and a band shirt with the word Ghost written in heavily stylized letters over some rather chaotic art. &ldquo;Hope my buddy here isn&rsquo;t bothering you ladies too much.&rdquo; He chuckled while doing his best to hand out the drinks. Two of the cups ended up on the floor anyways due to lack of proximity to an end table. Esme at least was able to set hers on the table, and offered the man a small nod.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;So I don&rsquo;t think I get your costume.&rdquo; She curled coyly on to the arm of the couch.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Me? Isn&rsquo;t it obvious?&rdquo; Beck snickered. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m a ghost. Or if that&rsquo;s too lazy you can just say I&rsquo;m a pretentious music hipster.&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Isn&rsquo;t that your shirt.&rdquo; Augie huffed As usual the insult slid right off of his friend who gave him a wink and leaned back in his own seat wetting the tip of his beak in his own cup.<br /><br />\tEsme smiled at him. Hardly something anyone would call flirtatious, but certainly friendly. &ldquo; Thanks. Though aren&rsquo;t you guys in a band? I figured you&rsquo;d have some place to be tonight. A concert or a house party or something?&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Nobody wants to hear me getting my Roger Waters on while they&rsquo;re trying to seduce the sexy nurse before she vomits her weight in Tequila. We aren&rsquo;t really that big anyways. Point is more just to get out there and jam.&rdquo; Beck gave a cheeky little turn of his beak to the gecko girl, then cast his eyes on Augie who had looked away from the TV and was now staring daggers at his friend.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;This from the same guy who keeps telling us we gotta get more original music in our set if we want to build our fan base? You&rsquo;re acting real calm for someone who&rsquo;s always bitching about how bad it is working at Staples and trying to get us to take gigs half way across the state.&rdquo;<br /><br />\tBeck&rsquo;s grin only seemed to grow at the corners of his beak. &ldquo;Well yeah.&rdquo; He nodded &ldquo; But I&rsquo;m usually not feeling this good. Probably the edible kicking in. Chloe was selling her usual brownies but this time with some cute orange frosting and those lil sugar gravestones.&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Wait, is that why it took you so long to pick me up?&rdquo; Augie snapped &ldquo; And where&rsquo;s my brownie then, huh?&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Dude, since when do I buy your hash brownies for you?&rdquo; Beck waved a wing and curled himself up a bit more in his seat. &ldquo; You knew we couldn&rsquo;t bring shit here because of the high school kids. If you didn&rsquo;t pregame that&rsquo;s on you. Besides, you&rsquo;re the one who wanted to come here most. Remember? Wanted a chance to simp over your favorite e-girl in person without having the game get in the way?&rdquo;<br /><br />\tAugie slipped from his seat while waving his paws frantically. His eyes shot to Xiulan for a moment and then to Beck &ldquo;Shh, come on, man. Why do you gotta make it awkward?&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Wait, are you one of my Onlyfurs subs?&rdquo; Xi couldn&rsquo;t help but giggle at the prospect. Her eyes lit up watching him scramble and seeing the blush on the chubby puppy&rsquo;s cheeks.<br /><br />\tAugie looked off to the side and nodded &ldquo;I, well yeah. Look I&rsquo;m not trying to creep or anything but you are kinda really hot.&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;But isn&rsquo;t she streaming as a boy when doing all that stuff?&rdquo; Beck snickered.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Still hot.&rdquo; The dog boy bashfully admitted.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;I really don&rsquo;t feel like I should be hearing any of this.&rdquo; Esme huffed &lsquo; If you wanted to ask someone out you should just do it. Don&rsquo;t creep on them at a party.&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Ok.&rdquo; Becky sighed, the badger pulling herself up and nudging Xiulan towards Esme &ldquo;I&rsquo;m just gonna slip myself in here for now. I know he may not mean anything, but I do think you need to show your friend the definition of &lsquo;parasocial&rsquo;, Beck.&rdquo;<br /><br />\tThey all went quiet for a few moments. I can trust you two, and I hope you can both still trust me.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;A-and that means we can start to call you Master again, right?&rdquo; Hui chirped<br /><br />\tJustin nodded softly and ran a paw though her hair. &ldquo;I just want to make sure we&rsquo;re all in the right headspace. We&rsquo;re all part of a family, even if it&rsquo;s a very fucked up one. We&rsquo;re more than just kink delivery devices for each other.&rdquo;<br /><br />\tBoth girls nodded in unison. Happy to once again be in their place.<br /><br />--------------------<br /><br />\tThe Trick-or-treaters had all long gone. Mini heath bars and chick-o-sticks kept the kids from egging the house. Now what was left of those candies along with large bowls of popcorn and a cooler of pop cans sat in the living room while everyone prepared.<br /><br />\tJustin, Hui and Gretchen were all cuddled up on a small pile of blankets leaning back against the couch. Augie had eventually taken a seat beside the couch to help offset some of the awkwardness and allowed Becky and Xi to cuddle. Esme curled herself up in her own spot, gas mask now down while she looked though the thick lenses. Beck took Ozzy&rsquo;s usual chair while Ozzy sat with his back against the table beside it, well within reach of a larger popcorn tub.<br /><br />\tOutside one could hear the singing of the coven carrying out whatever rituals they were doing and the faint smell of a bonfire tickled the noses of all assembled. <br /><br />\tJustin held the Playstation controller in paw and gave one last look around the room. &ldquo;Ok, everyone set? This here is a double feature so try not to get up if you don&rsquo;t have to.&rdquo;<br /><br />\tSmall nods and smatterings of affirmation. He&rsquo;d timed this out perfectly. Rocky Horror would end at midnight, then Shock Treatment right after. A bit of ritual to help bind the new friends and found family.<br /><br />\tOnce he was sure everyone was settled he hit the play button, and the show began.<br /></span>",
