This contract would be relatively moot, as the ambition of Salaf was such that when an opportunity arose, he manipulated events between his demon overlord and another demon, as they fought using their proxies, he used the fog of war, to attack both ally and enemy, absorbing their strength for himself, while convincing his patron that he was still loyal by blaming the deaths on the enemy forces, which he would dispatch well before any other details could be gleamed.\n\nAs it went on, eventually the fight came down to demon overlord against demon overlord, and having dispatched his enemy's underlings, and having sneakily dispatched all but himself from the remnants of his own overlord's control, it all came down to a two versus one fight, which would be very lopsided, since by this point Salaf had nearly become as powerful as his own patron. This fact became all too aparent, when Salaf, instead of fighting the other overlord, chose instead to stab his own patron in the back and absorb his power for himself. The contract over his soul was null, but it didn't matter anymore, as he had gained so much power in the process, the paltry amount he lost was insignificant.\n\nThe other demon overlord wasn't much of a hassle in such a situation, having gained enough strength to double his opponent's strength, he would be classified more as a victim, than an overlord.\n\nSalaf's ambition is shortsighted, but unlimited.
