The morning had come once again as the tribal hunters went out on their quest, following behind was a younger tribal boy who adventured out with them as hew as considered one of their own rank, even for being so young. Flint though never really went on the main hunt, he was more interested in exploring the world around him any chance he got, he bid farewell to his mom and brothers and sisters as he went on his way not too far off from the tribes grounds to see what he could find, hoping today would be more interesting then the last. As luck would have it, Flint heard the sound or roaring water as he looked over from the small hill he was on to see a tall waterfall in the distance within the souring tree line as he went into the forest to investigate, there sounds of tiny laughter could be heard as around his feet tiny pink fluffs with tiny ears were scattering on the ground around him which made him smile. Bunny Poofs, as Flint knew them, there were running everywhere, the waterfall must have something fun he thought since these creatures would not be present if there wasn't, so Flint ran towards the area in which the Bunny Poofs were coming from. Arriving there, Flint saw the large waterfall as he could see small pink clouds falling down with the waterflow, these creatures were crazy but loved reckless fun as Flint enjoyed watching these creatures go on without any care, he then hid in some nearby bushes as he saw another figure, recklessly sliding and climbing down the waterfall cliffside as it looked like he was trying to catch the little creatures. "You know, they don't like it when you get in the way of their fun" Flint called out to the boy as he approached closer, sliding through the bushes slowly "Fun? What are you talking about don't you see the are in danger, why don't you come and help..." the boy started calling out but was cut off by a small laugh. "In danger? Why don't you look again" Flint called out one more time as the boy looked around at the creatures still raining down around him, to his surprise though when the creatures hit the ground they would just start bouncing around like a ball before running off back into the forest, all the more while that sound of tiny laughter echoed louder. "What are these thing?" the boy confusedly asked as Flint when to his side, "Bunny Poofs" Flint said again as the boy turned towards Flint's direction, he could now see the boy was a mixed coloured arctic fox around his size and maybe his age, probably from the city, "they are reckless little creatures, kind of like yourself seeing how you just slid down a cliffside but unlike you, they have no bones, well not like the ones you and me have and are quite squishy as you can see" Flint continued as he picked up a bunny poof and poked it a bit before setting it free again, "as you can see they can't get hurt even from a fall like that". "But even so, why would they just jump from the top of the cliff?" The arctic fox boy asked, "well again they are reckless but they like to have fun and bouncing around like this is how they like to go about it" Flint answered.
"How is it that you know so much about them?" the arctic fox boy curiously asked, "well I am a tribal fennec, we are one with nature, so I kind of have to know" the Flint answered making a slight smile. "Tribal? Does that mean you live out here, outside the city?" the arctic fox boy asked, "you got it, though I do go into the city from time to time as I have some issues to deal with, but nothing beats being out here" Flint responded. "I think you got that right. Since you are from out here, do you mind showing me around some more?" the arctic fox boy asked, "sure I can, I know these grounds like the back of my hand, in fact why don't we..." Flint started saying before he was cut off. "Big brother, big brother, there you are, mom wants us to come back to the village right away" another fennec fox yelled out, one a bit smaller then Flint and the other one. "Ok Salt, go on ahead, tell mom I will be there in a minute" the Flint said to the younger fennec named Salt as he took off, "sorry, I guess I don't have time to show you around" "No worries, I can adventure around myself for a bit before I have to go back to the city" the arctic fox boy replied, "it was nice meeting you, maybe the next time I am in the city, if by chance we meet up, you can show me around your area" Flint said as made a small laugh. "Sure thing but you know it won't be as exciting as out here" the arctic fox boy responded but Flint cracked a small grin, "maybe but maybe not, sometimes you don't know just how special and wonderful the place around you is, even if you live in it" Flint said as he started walking off leaving the arctic fox boy puzzled. "Oh before you go by the way, my name is Ion, Ion-Yggdrasil, what's yours?" Ion called out as the Flint stopped and looked back at him, "Flint, my name is Flint and again it was nice meeting you!" Flint said making a big smile before running off leaving Ion in the distance. "You know you are not suppose to interact with outsiders" Salt said as Flint placed a hand on his shoulder, "you can't be afraid of others, even if they do come from the city, we all live in this valley and need each other to survive" Flint said as Salt looked puzzled, "at any rate, he was just a kid so there is nothing to worry about" Flint continued as they walked back towards the tribal villag. "There is something about him though" Flint started saying as Salt turned his head towards his brother, "it is almost like I can feel some sort of connection with him, like I have seen him before or something" Flint continued as a pain in his chest started to radiate as he fell to his knees, "brother are you ok?" Salt asked a bit panicked, "I am fine" Flint answered as he got up, clutching his chest Flint knew he would need to visit the city some time soon and maybe, just maybe he would be able to meet up with Ion again, sure he didn't know where Ion lived but that wouldn't deter him, the fact the he and Ion looked to make some sort of small bond in the short time they were together just gave him hope, they would meet again, but little did he know just how right he would be and the bond the two of them would come to share.
