"description": "Art by feverchilll on FurAffinity\n\nBeen sitting on this one for a while, just trying to figure out the best time top post a surgical piece again (as well as having a bit of a writers block in some storytelling alongside being a lot more busier lately). I have a few other surgical pieces I also need to pose as well though I think i am going to go down a route like this one in which do a smaller situational story type chunk deal as it is easier for me at this point in time . Not saying I won't do loner stories again just that they will be a bit more rare going forward, though I still do want to continue on my CYOA story which I hope to do so soon\n\n[i]~\nMeeka cracked a small smile from beneath her mask, as she now held Ion's once again beating heart in her hands, the intense stress of the last fifteen minutes starting to fade as well are the soreness in her fingers from vigorously hand pumping Ion's heart while he was in cardiac arrest. Her gamble of performing an emergency thoracotomy after Ion's sudden heart failure during the abdominal repair surgery, which had been going unusually well before that point despite Ion's underlying health issues, his heart suddenly stopping was a reminder on how fragile Ion's health can be, how his strong outward demeanor is hiding a more weak deposition. She held onto his beating heart for five minutes or so before one of her assistants snapped her back to what she should be doing, Ion's abdominal and bowel structures was still a mess from the large slash he had received, she had been making headway in those repairs before his sudden heart stoppage, along with the fact once he was stabilized she had to get to repairing his shoulder bones and figuring out a way to fully fix the gash over his nose, the stitches there were holding on for now but it looks like it will not be a long term solution, she might have to defer to a specialist for a permanent fix for that. Meeka then also needed to see if his severed left arm could be reattached, Ion's mate Zephyr went back out and was able to retrieve it but from reports it might not be in a condition that reattachment could be possible, Meeka would have to wait and see but stabilizing Ion's abdominal structures was top priority as it was still a life threating condition with all the internal bleeding the clamps were still holding back. She gently placed Ion's beating heart back into his chest cavity, making sure not to damage and the structures around it further before getting back at the task at hand in the abdominal repair though every so often she would glance back to his chest incision to keep a close eye on the organ sitting exposed. She would see it beating alongside the opened up pericardium membrane, the surgical team thought it would be best to leave Ion's thoracic incision open until the surgery was fully complete, that being the last area to close up just incase of anything as Ion's heart was a major unknown factor in getting the rest of his required surgery completed, still though Meeka was determined close cousin, basically little brother die under her watch and in her hands, \"I will pull you back, I promise that\"\n~[/i]",
