invading army, finding out the limits of his new kyuubi form. While he won and saved the village and it's inhabitants from destruction, Ion himself paid a heavy price, falling not too long after his victory. The residents of the village now want to do everything in their power to save the being that saved them, rushing Ion to their small hospital in hopes he can pull through. The surgeons lifted the boy onto the operating table and quickly got to work, the boy's heart was barely beating, combined with all the scrapes on his arms, legs and face with the more serious multiple stab wounds wounds to his belly combined with the deep gash on his side leaking thick blood. But the injury the surgeons were most concerned about was the very large gash across the boy's chest, it was deep, shattering parts of the sternum along with severing most of his ribs, it was deep enough to cut into his lungs and even worse, his heart. There was no time to loose, the surgeons had to get inside fast, grabbing a scalpel, one team of surgeons started cutting open the boy's belly, it was fairly swollen which the surgeons knew meant there was heavy internal bleeding, a fact confirmed by the enormous amounts of blood that flowed from the knife's cut. The surgeons quickly pulled apart the boy's belly fur revealing his mangled intestines floating in a pool of blood causing the surgeons spending the next several minutes just trying to clamp close any severed ends to stop the bleeding. The sudden new trauma from the surgeons on the boy's belly caused his heart rate to drop dramatically further, combined with his poor respiratory rate caused the surgeons to immediately want to open his chest. Grabbing another scalpel a surgeon made an incision across the boy's chest, speed was key in this situation so a thoracotomy was warranted, with the seriousness of the boy's injuries, a clamshell thoracotomy was chosen to get a full view of his internal chest organs. With the incision made, the surgeons inserted a retractor on each side of the boy's chest, cranking them open in unison as the boy's chest pulled apart, revealing bloodied lungs and a swollen heart struggling to beat. \n\nUpon further inspection both of his lungs were cut by whatever made the large gash on his chest as blood was starting to backfill into his heart making it harder to pump blood to the rest of his body, there was serious danger of his heart just seizing up to the point of trying to get it beating again would be almost impossible. To relieve the pressure, the surgeon took the scalpel and made a small incision into the boy's heart allowing blood to drain but this was also a double edge sword as now there was a hole in the boy's heart and if not properly maintained he could bleed out in a matter of minutes. Putting him on bypass as they continued to fix his heart would be the best option, but this caused the surgeons to have a small dilemma. The boy's survival rate was really low, his gut was a mess and two of his most important organs were severely damaged, putting him on bypass would let his body to continue function while the work was done, but when he would be taken off the bypass, would his body be able to take or would he die instantly. \"He saved us, he saved us all, our village would not still be here if it were not for him, we own him this much to try\" one surgeon said out loud and the other agreed, they would put him on the bypass even with the slim odds, there was a chance to save him and they were going to take it. Plus as one surgeon pointed out, the boy had nine tails, he was a kyuubi, a entity that was only suppose to exist in legends, since this sort of being was thought to be unreal, there has never been one operated on, no medical data for one and with these beings in legends supposedly having mythical powers that are not understood, maybe the boy's chances for surviving were not that impossible at all, it was worth a shot either way. \n\nThe decision was made, the boy was hooked up to the bypass machine, his aorta was clamped and his heart slowly stopped it's beating as his lungs were deflated, allowing the surgeons to repair his lungs and get inside his heart to attend to any damage there. As his heart was opened up, an inspection found that the backfill of blood cause major damage to the boy's pulmonary, aortic and mitral valve leaflets, repair of the valves looked impossible so replacement was the only way forward. The boy's three valves were removed one by one and were replaced by new synthetic tissue valves which should restore full heart function one it was beating again but there was still a lot of work to do. Over the next several hours, the repair on the boy's heart was finished up, along with the repair on his lungs and complete reconstruction of his bowels, he was no longer in immediate danger of bleeding to death but now the question was, would his body be able to resume normal function when he came off the bypass. The majority of their work was complete and the boy's heart function needed to be returned so the surgery could begin to end. The surgeons injected some special medicine into the boy's heart as they took an internal defibrillator and pressed it against his heart, sending current through the two paddles, the boy's heart was rapidly jolted into beating again. Air to his lungs was restored as they began to inflate back to their normal shape, the clamp on his aorta was carefully removed so the heart could fill back up with blood and pump it normally throughout his body. Next came the most critical step, taking the boy off bypass and letting his heart and lungs fully resume his normal body functions, as the machine was drained and the boy's heart took on the full load, the surgeons hoped he would not go into sudden cardiac arrest, a condition that would most likely signify the boy's death and that their hard work was a failure. Minutes passed as the boy's body continued to function on it's own, his heart starting to beat faster and faster as it went up to a normal rate, the surgeons breathed a sigh of relief as the first hurdle was cleared but the boy was not out of the woods yet. \n\nWith his condition improving, the surgeons were satisfied with closing the boy back up, the chest retractors were removed and the incision stapled closed, if he would survive the days ahead another surgery would commence to deal with his broken sternum and ribs but for now, the surgeons didn't not want to place excess trauma in his body. The boy's bowels were carefully put back into place as the incision there was stapled closed as well. The large chest gash was stitched closed, along with the the gash and stab wounds on the boy's belly, with the major injuries dealt with, the surgeons could now deal with the more minor ones, either stitching closed or applying thick gauze to the cuts and scrapes on the boy's arms, legs and face. He had survived for now and only time would tell if the boy would fully pull through. The surgeons placed him back on a gurney as he was wheeled to the intensive care unit for recovery, the head surgeon sent out a sample of the boy's blood to the hospital's laboratory to hopefully help identifying him, though with the nine tails that might be impossible. The head surgeon then was pulled to meet with a small media team that was waiting outside the operating room, wanting to know the condition of the boy who saved their village, not wanting to get into too much detail, he said the boy was alive but still in critical condition, he almost told them about the boy's nine tails as to give the media more hope that the boy could survive being a kyuubi, but he healed back on that information, it could have cause more questions then answers and maybe made the situation worse. \n\nWith the media session out of the way, the head surgeon went back to his office where he was greeted by one of the lab technicians. \"Did you find out any information on our mysterious kyuubi? Not that I am expecting you to\" the surgeon asked, \"yes in fact I did\" the technologist answered back. The surgeons was surprised, \"well the spill it out, what did you find?\" he asked, \"well, his name is Ion-Yggdrasil, he at one point in time was a high ranking Contract Hunter with the world guild\" the technologist answered. \"A former Hunter? He is not still one?\" the surgeon asked, \" well... I don't know, I can't confirm that because the main thing you see, according to the available records, he was born almost 700 years ago...\" the technologist added. \"700 years ago? there is no one that can live that long... unless there is something about being a nine tails...\" the surgeon responded but the technologist cut in, \"but that is also the thing, he was from a normal father and mother, he was born a normal fox with only one tail.\" The surgeon sat down in his chair, \"this is getting more interesting, thank you for the information you have found out\" the surgeon responded as he gestured the technologist to leave his office, he now more then ever hoped the kyuubi would survive, his curiosity had peeked and he wanted to talk to this Ion-Yggdrasil and find out more about him from his own mouth. \"There is one more thing though...\" the technologist said as she was about to leave, \"what is it?\" the surgeon responded. \"There is a red dragon here looking for the boy and need to immediately see him\" the technologist responded, \"a red dragon?\" the surgeon asked, \"ok thank you again, I will deal with him\" the surgeon continued, as he thought this day was getting even more interesting.\n~", "description_bbcode_parsed": "Art by x44g3nt1 on FurAffinity

To relieve the pressure, the surgeon took the scalpel and made a small incision into the boy's heart allowing blood to drain but this was also a double edge sword as now there was a hole in the boy's heart and if not properly maintained he could bleed out in a matter of minutes. Putting him on bypass as they continued to fix his heart would be the best option, but this caused the surgeons to have a small dilemma. The boy's survival rate was really low, his gut was a mess and two of his most important organs were severely damaged, putting him on bypass would let his body to continue function while the work was done, but when he would be taken off the bypass, would his body be able to take or would he die instantly. "He saved us, he saved us all, our village would not still be here if it were not for him, we own him this much to try" one surgeon said out loud and the other agreed, they would put him on the bypass even with the slim odds, there was a chance to save him and they were going to take it. Plus as one surgeon pointed out, the boy had nine tails, he was a kyuubi, a entity that was only suppose to exist in legends, since this sort of being was thought to be unreal, there has never been one operated on, no medical data for one and with these beings in legends supposedly having mythical powers that are not understood, maybe the boy's chances for surviving were not that impossible at all, it was worth a shot either way.

The decision was made, the boy was hooked up to the bypass machine, his aorta was clamped and his heart slowly stopped it's beating as his lungs were deflated, allowing the surgeons to repair his lungs and get inside his heart to attend to any damage there. As his heart was opened up, an inspection found that the backfill of blood cause major damage to the boy's pulmonary, aortic and mitral valve leaflets, repair of the valves looked impossible so replacement was the only way forward. The boy's three valves were removed one by one and were replaced by new synthetic tissue valves which should restore full heart function one it was beating again but there was still a lot of work to do. Over the next several hours, the repair on the boy's heart was finished up, along with the repair on his lungs and complete reconstruction of his bowels, he was no longer in immediate danger of bleeding to death but now the question was, would his body be able to resume normal function when he came off the bypass. The majority of their work was complete and the boy's heart function needed to be returned so the surgery could begin to end. The surgeons injected some special medicine into the boy's heart as they took an internal defibrillator and pressed it against his heart, sending current through the two paddles, the boy's heart was rapidly jolted into beating again. Air to his lungs was restored as they began to inflate back to their normal shape, the clamp on his aorta was carefully removed so the heart could fill back up with blood and pump it normally throughout his body. Next came the most critical step, taking the boy off bypass and letting his heart and lungs fully resume his normal body functions, as the machine was drained and the boy's heart took on the full load, the surgeons hoped he would not go into sudden cardiac arrest, a condition that would most likely signify the boy's death and that their hard work was a failure. Minutes passed as the boy's body continued to function on it's own, his heart starting to beat faster and faster as it went up to a normal rate, the surgeons breathed a sigh of relief as the first hurdle was cleared but the boy was not out of the woods yet.

With his condition improving, the surgeons were satisfied with closing the boy back up, the chest retractors were removed and the incision stapled closed, if he would survive the days ahead another surgery would commence to deal with his broken sternum and ribs but for now, the surgeons didn't not want to place excess trauma in his body. The boy's bowels were carefully put back into place as the incision there was stapled closed as well. The large chest gash was stitched closed, along with the the gash and stab wounds on the boy's belly, with the major injuries dealt with, the surgeons could now deal with the more minor ones, either stitching closed or applying thick gauze to the cuts and scrapes on the boy's arms, legs and face. He had survived for now and only time would tell if the boy would fully pull through. The surgeons placed him back on a gurney as he was wheeled to the intensive care unit for recovery, the head surgeon sent out a sample of the boy's blood to the hospital's laboratory to hopefully help identifying him, though with the nine tails that might be impossible. The head surgeon then was pulled to meet with a small media team that was waiting outside the operating room, wanting to know the condition of the boy who saved their village, not wanting to get into too much detail, he said the boy was alive but still in critical condition, he almost told them about the boy's nine tails as to give the media more hope that the boy could survive being a kyuubi, but he healed back on that information, it could have cause more questions then answers and maybe made the situation worse.

With the media session out of the way, the head surgeon went back to his office where he was greeted by one of the lab technicians. "Did you find out any information on our mysterious kyuubi? Not that I am expecting you to" the surgeon asked, "yes in fact I did" the technologist answered back. The surgeons was surprised, "well the spill it out, what did you find?" he asked, "well, his name is Ion-Yggdrasil, he at one point in time was a high ranking Contract Hunter with the world guild" the technologist answered. "A former Hunter? He is not still one?" the surgeon asked, " well... I don't know, I can't confirm that because the main thing you see, according to the available records, he was born almost 700 years ago..." the technologist added. "700 years ago? there is no one that can live that long... unless there is something about being a nine tails..." the surgeon responded but the technologist cut in, "but that is also the thing, he was from a normal father and mother, he was born a normal fox with only one tail." The surgeon sat down in his chair, "this is getting more interesting, thank you for the information you have found out" the surgeon responded as he gestured the technologist to leave his office, he now more then ever hoped the kyuubi would survive, his curiosity had peeked and he wanted to talk to this Ion-Yggdrasil and find out more about him from his own mouth. "There is one more thing though..." the technologist said as she was about to leave, "what is it?" the surgeon responded. "There is a red dragon here looking for the boy and need to immediately see him" the technologist responded, "a red dragon?" the surgeon asked, "ok thank you again, I will deal with him" the surgeon continued, as he thought this day was getting even more interesting.
