Her nod sends Teita to Tony's side. He tries to remove the Tiger's hand but can't even budge him. The leopard attempts to speak but sounds more like he is pleading instead, \n\"Tony, move your hand. I have a new bandage.\"\n\"This is fine.\" He grumbles, seeming to have trouble staying fully conscious, his lack of adrenaline likely to blame, Kayla huffs indignantly, \n\"It is not! You're still losing blood because your balled up shirt is too thick. The creases are leaving gaps in your fur. Don't be a stubborn pussy.\"\nTeita reels at Kayla insulting the tiger but is shocked to see the hand move moments later. The leopard pulls the balled up cloth aside and presses his makeshift bandage against it. This gets a growl from Tony, but soon he has settled his hand atop the new bandage. Kayla sighed in relief,\n\"We'll need to get the bullet out, but we should get better control of the bleeding first.\"\n\"What the f*ck are you??\" The older rabbit practically shouted, bringing the focus of the room to himself. This gets Larry to engage him as he slightly lowers the gun, looking Teita in the eye,
"No! She's worse! She's an overly powerful machine with motives and capabilities we know NOTHING about... all without a cage as you put it. I'd say that's pretty dangerous!"
"But I can explain why...!"
"WHY?! She wants to be free. She doesn't want us holding her back, that's reason enough!"
"She saw you making the nav triangulation protocol!!"
Larry pauses, he barely finds his voice as his jaw slackens,
"What...? What did you say?"
Teita sighs before repeating himself, his hands lowering further and turning his palms out,
"Kayla saw you making the nav protocol. She figured out a way to piggy back through the killswitch network. She's even been talking to the other synths through it... Dani in particular!"

A gunshot rings out! Then three or four more followed by screams as Teita and Larry both flinch, but realize it isn't Larry's gun. Kayla gasps loudly,
"That came from downstairs!"

It is pandemonium as Larry arrives at the ground floor, gun in hand and at the ready! Tony struggles to walk, the tiger cupping his side where a deep red wound in his stomach is spilling more and more blood across his clothes! Henry, the old rabbit, is shuffling shocked and floor bound patrons to their feet and out the back door! But Corby was down on the ground, curled up, and not moving...

 ‎Running up to Tony, Larry did his best to support the Tiger's weight, but Tony never took his eyes off the door, gun still raised and slightly shaking! Larry, trying to snap him out of it, took a handful of bloodied shirt and pressed it into the wound! The Tiger shouted in pain, hissing through his teeth! Larry, now certain he had his attention, had to nearly shout to be heard over the clamor,
 ‎"What happened?!"
 ‎"It was a synth!!"
 ‎Larry's cold blood ran like ice...
 ‎"w-What?! That's not possible!"
 ‎the Tiger struggles to move, pulling himself away from the Komodo and applying pressure to the wound himself as he spoke,
 ‎"That wolf! Asking for your 'friend'! He did this!" His legs gave out as he slumped to the floor. The komodo now kept his eye on the locked metal door, bullet holes around it revealing Tony's attempts at fighting back.
 ‎"did... did you kill it??"
 ‎the Tiger shook his head. Larry, now fully in fight or flight, uttered with false composure,
 ‎"watch the door."
 ‎a soft nod from Tony, and his gun was raised again, his other hand holding his bloodied side. Larry, after running over to the old goat, finds him breathing,
 ‎"Corby! You alright?"
 ‎"when I find that sunuvabitch I'm gonna kill 'im! My f*cking knee!"
 ‎Larry huffed, exasperated, old goat was probably fine. He guessed Corby was knocked over in the scuffle.
 Changing priorities, he met Henry halfway on his path from the closed side exit, the rabbit offering good news,
 ‎"All the patrons downstairs have been lead out. What about upstairs?"
 ‎"Don't worry about that now. We have a bigger problem."
 ‎a gesture to Tony, still on guard, gives a clear view of his blood covered side.
 ‎"Shit... he didn't tell me he was shot. He said to get the people out the back door."
"Get him upstairs. Room 303. The new guy is there with a couple synths..."
The rabbit was about to walk past him when Larry suddenly grabs his arm, his tone dark and certain,
"Do not... trust... the synths.  Especially the leopard girl. It's not one of ours."
The rabbit nodded, slightly confused, but moved with certainty, helping Tony back to his feet.

Larry moved over to the freezer, pressing several buttons, showing his target on the monitor, bringing her out quickly.
"D-daddy? What's happening??"

 Teita was talking to himself as he considered following the Komodo dragon,
"No. We have to stay put. If we draw attention or get caught off guard the situation could get much worse."

A clatter outside the door brought Teita and the two synths to their feet and the leopard back to the door. After a brief glance through the peephole, he opened the door to find Tony face down and the rabbit struggling to get out from under his arm.
Kayla screamed,
"Kitty! Oh no!"
The old rabbit struggles for air, gesturing between gasping breaths.
"Help. *pant* he's *pant* lost a lot of...*pant*... a lot of blood."
Teita helps Tony to his feet, slowly and carefully laying him on his back on the bed. Kayla's first motion is to the sink, running scalding hot water. She briefly washes her hands, then gestures Teita to do the same once he's finished helping Tony settle.

Kayla's eyes continue to dart back to the wound, uttering to Teita,
"He's doing well applying pressure to the site, but his bandage is laying poorly. He's still bleeding too fast. We need a replacement that will last him until help can arrive."
Teita doesn't respond to the information at first, simply shocked at the shift in her personality,
"Daddy??"
"S-Sorry... sorry. What should I... do?"
Kayla slows her speech down, making it unmistakable what she was saying,
"He needs a fresh bandage that will last and lay flush against the wound. I don't think he can hold on until an ambulance arrives otherwise."
"Okay..."
Without hesitating, he takes his loose tank top, folding it up until it was no different than a thick cloth. He nods to Kayla,
"Like this?"
She takes it from him, soaks it in hot water and folds it one more time, wringing a lot of the water from it and doubling the thickness. Her nod sends Teita to Tony's side. He tries to remove the Tiger's hand but can't even budge him. The leopard attempts to speak but sounds more like he is pleading instead,
"Tony, move your hand. I have a new bandage."
"This is fine." He grumbles, seeming to have trouble staying fully conscious, his lack of adrenaline likely to blame, Kayla huffs indignantly,
"It is not! You're still losing blood because your balled up shirt is too thick. The creases are leaving gaps in your fur. Don't be a stubborn pussy."
Teita reels at Kayla insulting the tiger but is shocked to see the hand move moments later. The leopard pulls the balled up cloth aside and presses his makeshift bandage against it. This gets a growl from Tony, but soon he has settled his hand atop the new bandage. Kayla sighed in relief,
"We'll need to get the bullet out, but we should get better control of the bleeding first."
"What the f*ck are you??" The older rabbit practically shouted, bringing the focus of the room to himself. Teita tries to play it off,
"She's a synth."
The rabbit shakes his head,
"I've been around synths for almost 10 years... but never once has one shown abilities like her. You're like no synth I've ever seen."
He gets to his feet, slightly hobbling as he decides to examine her up close. Walking around back, he shakes his head,
"I don't hear any spine."
"It's... it's a new model!"
The rabbit doesn't refute it, but appears unsatisfied with the answer, walking back to his corner as he crosses his arms.
"Larry was right, you sure as hell ain't one of ours."
Tony grumbles,
"What did you just say?"

The door clatters again, this time Larry and Dani walk through! Larry has Dani at gunpoint and Kayla whimpers quietly to Teita,
"M-mommy!"
The leopard gently grasps his daughter's hand, squeezing it before stepping toward the clearly unstable Komodo. Dani notices Teita and runs up to him,
"Kitty! Is everything okay? Where's the baby?"
"Uh, hi Dani! I... I think everybody is okay."
She sees Kayla and runs around Teita with a big smile! The leopard trying to both calm and ask his friend,
"Larry...?"
"Baby baby baby. It's all Dani wants to talk about. Is baby okay? What happened to Kayla? She's been brainwashed by that thing."
Larry gestures with the gun pointed at Kayla. She flinches, but doesn't flee. Teita, glancing to make sure the safety is active, grabs the gun and points it at the floor forcefully.
"Don't f*cking wave that thing around. She's the reason Tony is going to live long enough for an ambulance to get here."
"There's not going to be an ambulance."
A silence that hung in the air drew a disbelieving stare from Teita.
"You're not serious! You took Corby to the hospital, why not Tony?"
"He's been augmented."
Teita raises his arms,
"So what?! So am I! They don't send you to jail for being augmented."
"Because the worst you could do is cock slap someone while they're standing up. Its purpose is classified as aesthetic. He's got a muscle and bone density augment of some kind. THOSE are illegal."
Tony nods softly, not turning to them as he spoke,
"My b... boss saved my life. Gave me the ability to provide for my family when I no longer could."
 Teita shook his head,
 ‎"But you're hurt! You could die!"
 ‎"a warrior's death. Heh heh..."
 ‎the Tiger grew deathly quiet, and Teita struggled to find a solid argument.
 Before he could, Tony turned over, facing Teita, his eyes... were welling up,
 "Please.... no hospitals. They will take it all away. Leave me the broken husk I was before...unable to even lift my own head."
 ‎Larry nods, helping confirm the concern,
 ‎"They'll confiscate all his biomass. Probably blacklist him for other medical treatments that use it."
 ‎Teita scrunched his eyes in concentration and finally nodded,
"I...*sigh* okay..."
The leopard conceded and the Tiger nodded before returning his gaze to the far wall. Teita turns to Kayla,
"Can you fix him?"
Larry shoots a death glare at him,
"No, She can't... I won't allow it."
"What the f-WHY NOT?!"
"Pay attention, Teita! She can reprogram Biomass. I'm not letting her anywhere near him. Do I make myself clear?"
Kayla speaks up for herself this time, a slight tremor in her voice,
"Y-yes sir."
There is a pause as Yuna coos softly, speaking for the first time since the mayhem started,
"Should I... start cleaning up in here?"
