"writing": "================\n\nA glimpse of light in the distance... a grey and amber sky giving way to a soft but certain blue. A brightness that steadily eclipses the stars and bathing the entire countryside in warmth. The thick evergreen trees looking like dense emerald fur, swaying softly with the wind. It spans nearly as far as the eye can see. The few imperfections that challenged this vista included a cabin settled in a verdant clearing, the tip of a nearby mountain which displays a cap of pure white frost, and the remnant in the distance.\n\nAh, the remnant. It would be considered a place untouched by civilization, save for the ruins of the abandoned city that nature had since reclaimed. The only remaining mark of the events that transpired is a 1 mile wide black crater at the center that animals and even plant life refuse to touch. A remnant of the technology the world has since renounced. Such places were actively avoided by the few survivors. But not by one strange creature...\n\nThe sunlight passing through the cracked window of a dilapidated building roused the timid thing. The female canine soaked in the warmth. It made the springs of the rotted couch less painful. It made the faded stench of rot and death tolerable. Taking a personal inventory, her ears flutter dust off of them. A sudden breath gets more dust than she expects which results in a rather small, but what many would consider cute, sneeze that shook her entire body, wafting the coat of dust into the air! \n\nNow very much awake, the mutt took the opportunity to hop to the floor, adding more footprints to her already staggering tapestry that covered the floor. Spending years in a room with ability to see your steps would give one a pensive pause for reflection. Not for this simple girl... She eyed her legs with each stretch, shaking the gray dust and flecks of mud from her paws. When it leaves an unsatisfying amount of filth she looks over her body, finding remains of her activities from the last week, perhaps two. A spat of blood makes her wince and decide that she would not sit with the filth any longer. Today she would bathe...\n\nWalking down the stairs with rehearsed familiarity, she finds the other drops of blood she had dripped on the concrete steps. It was a reminder to be wary of others in the ruins... The animals here were not like they we're in the forest. They were restless... almost remorseless... but they were rare, often killing each other before any one animal could press their influence across the ruins. With a little effort, she successfully squeezes back through a doggie door in the rusted blockade of a door. She absently wondered if she would become like them one day, turning back to see the vicious claw marks of one of the wild creatures that followed her home once. The thought made her somber, even as playful chirps from the birds nearby accented the beautiful clear sky. \n\nHer walk to the crater was uneventful. Decayed buildings covered with thick vines, moss, and other plants in a slow war, which nature was winning. Her familiarity with the terrain let her take her final steps around a corner eyeing areas she might find others watching. The black pool was ominous, and at first it frightened her greatly, but now it felt like an old friend. Something reliable in the ruins while everything else was decaying. \nHer eyes darted up to examine her surroundings, a ritual she began recently when a bear had wandered into the ruins and had caught her by surprise behind one of the nearby boulders. It was the one responsible for those recent claw marks on her door.\n\nWith one last glance around, she saw no onlookers and put a tentative paw into the water, finding it bracing and cool to the touch. She collapses her stance and slides into the obsidian bowl. She finds it soothing until her nethers dip in and her body reminds her of her heat. Ignoring the burning desire in her loins she did her best to clean her telling scent. She kept an eye on the area around her as she swam, occasionally scratching and nipping at her fur under the water. With how many baths she had taken it was a wonder how it stayed so clear. It was of no consequence, as she felt her stomach rumble with hunger. She quickly realized her priorities must shift to hunting in the woods if she was going to find a meal and be back in enough time to sleep in her home tonight. She could not risk being caught in the ruins in the dark with the bear still somewhere nearby.\n\nHer nose was certain of it now. She couldn't tell where, but the bear was somewhere up wind of her and it set her on edge as she pulled herself from the pool shaking herself clean as best she could. A quick glance at her preening revealed a familiar view. The mutt had healthy grey hair, and while clean it shone like polished metal. Save for the lower half of her fore-legs and paws which were a creamy white. \n\nPleased with her results, and her senses telling her the bear was a ways off, she headed out to a familiar place she frequented for nourishment. \n\n===\n\nIt wasn't long before she reached the edge of the ruins, one of the last paved roads had collapsed from its lofty perch, remnants of a highway perhaps, and funneled water into a collection of large prickly berry bushes. \n\nThe smell of them brought some relief to the canine as she rooted and sniffed each side of the prickly bush for something to eat. After some time she starts to dig a little harder into the curling vines and thorns. A particularly nasty barb makes her flinch and retreat, giving the bush an appraising look as she simpers. It was not hers anymore. Some other woodland creature must have found the bushes and picked them clean. It happened once in a while. Today she'd have to hunt somewhere nearby for something to eat. \n\nA sudden sound nearby brought her rapt attention to it! A low growl. The bear must have been nearer than she thought! But it echoed off the buildings. He was inside the ruins! He was between her and home! \n\nHunger would not wait for such peril and her stomach audibly growled. The bear seeming to notice as her nose suggested he was on his way!!\n\nQuickly she darted away from the ruins, leaving no chance for her to look back! Without food she feared she may not have the strength to outrun the bear again...\n\n===\n She had run further than she thought possible on her empty stomach. The sound emerged again and she sought to prevent it from being a problem again. She quickly tears several small leaves from a tree, chewing and swallowing them with haste. Her second helping made her realize that she was making a mistake as her mouth began to burn but her breath felt cool. \n\nShe set to start heading back now. Perhaps she'd find real food tomorrow. \n\nShe turned, suddenly unsure of her orientation. Surely with all the times she'd ventured into the forest, she never got lost, why would this be any different?\n\nThe sun was high... It was impossible to tell the direction at this time. No familiar scents (or whatever she could smell with the troublesome leaves she'd eaten were making it harder for her to pick anything up)... but it was a faint sound which caught her attention.\n\n*thunk*\n\nIt was distant. But perhaps the bear was messing with something near the edges of the ruins? \n\n*thunk* \n\nThere it was again. There was a sense of rhythm to it. She waited, testing her hunch...\n\n...\n\n*thunk*\n\nYes! There it was! Curiosity played at her senses. Maybe she'd find her way, or some food, or...\n\nIt wasn't long until she came upon a cabin. It had been there for some time, based on the vines it had growing over the wall. \n\n*Thunk!*\n\nThe sound was close and she hugs the side of the cabin, unsure what she would find...\n\n*Thunk! *\n\nA person! A PERSON?! She could hardly believe her eyes and started approaching him openly with no fear. However it seemed he finished his task and took his split pieces of wood with him into the cabin. Had he not noticed her? The door closed behind him and she felt a rush of old feelings. This wasn't the first time a door had been closed on her and she had just the thing! \n\nEagerly she paws as the door, and sits patiently. Nothing. Once more she paws, this time offering a slight whimper. Footsteps on the wooden floors alerts her to his approach and her bushy tail starts to wag instinctively, bush beating the grass around her rump! Her mind raced, \n'New person! New person! New! NEW!'\nand her heart thumps heavily in her chest as her heat flares.",

Today she would bathe...<br /><br />Walking down the stairs with rehearsed familiarity, she finds the other drops of blood she had dripped on the concrete steps. It was a reminder to be wary of others in the ruins... The animals here were not like they we&#039;re in the forest. They were restless... almost remorseless... but they were rare, often killing each other before any one animal could press their influence across the ruins.&nbsp;&nbsp; With a little effort, she successfully squeezes back through a doggie door in the rusted blockade of a door. She absently wondered if she would become like them one day, turning back to see the vicious claw marks of one of the wild creatures that followed her home once. The thought made her somber, even as playful chirps from the birds nearby accented the beautiful clear sky. <br /><br />Her walk to the crater was uneventful. <br />Her eyes darted up to examine her surroundings, a ritual she began recently when a bear had wandered into the ruins and had caught her by surprise behind one of the nearby boulders. It was the one&nbsp;&nbsp;responsible for those recent claw marks&nbsp;&nbsp;on&nbsp;&nbsp;her door.<br /><br />With one last glance around, she saw no onlookers and put a tentative paw into the water, finding it bracing and cool to the touch. With how many baths&nbsp;&nbsp;she had taken it was a wonder how it stayed so clear. It was of no consequence, as she felt her stomach rumble with hunger. She quickly realized her priorities must shift to hunting in the woods if she was going to find a meal and be back in enough time to sleep in her home tonight. She could not risk being caught in the ruins in the dark with the bear still somewhere nearby.<br /><br />Her nose was certain of it now. She couldn&#039;t tell where, but the bear was somewhere up wind of her and it set her on edge as she pulled herself from the pool shaking herself clean as best she could. A quick glance at her preening revealed a familiar view. The mutt had healthy grey hair, and while clean it shone like polished metal. Save for the lower half of her fore-legs and paws which were a creamy white. <br /><br />Pleased with her results, and her senses telling her the bear was a ways off, she headed out to a familiar place she frequented for nourishment. <br /><br />===<br /><br />It wasn&#039;t long before she reached the edge of the ruins, one of the last paved roads had collapsed from its lofty perch, remnants of a highway perhaps, and funneled water into a collection of large prickly berry bushes. <br /><br />The smell of them brought some relief to the canine as she rooted and sniffed each side of the prickly bush for something to eat. Today she&#039;d have to hunt somewhere nearby for something to eat. <br /><br />A sudden sound nearby brought her rapt attention to it! A low growl. The bear must have been nearer than she thought! But it echoed off the buildings. He was inside the ruins! He was between her and home! <br /><br />Hunger would not wait for such peril and her stomach audibly growled. The bear seeming to notice as her nose suggested he was on his way!!<br /><br />Quickly she darted away from the ruins, leaving no chance for her to look back! Without food she feared she may not have the strength to outrun the bear again...<br /><br />===<br />&nbsp;She had run further than she thought possible on her empty stomach. The sound emerged again and she sought to prevent it from being a problem again. She quickly tears several small leaves from a tree, chewing and swallowing them with haste. Her second helping made her realize that she was making a mistake as her mouth began to burn but her breath felt cool. <br /><br />She set to start heading back now. Perhaps she&#039;d find real food tomorrow. <br /><br />She turned, suddenly unsure of her orientation. Surely with all the times she&#039;d ventured into the forest, she never got lost, why would this be any different?<br /><br />The sun was high... It was impossible to tell the direction at this time. No familiar scents (or whatever she could smell with the troublesome leaves she&#039;d eaten were making it harder for her to pick anything up)... but it was a faint sound which caught her attention.<br /><br />*thunk*<br /><br />It was distant. But perhaps the bear was messing with something near the edges of the ruins? <br /><br />*thunk* <br /><br />There it was again. There was a sense of rhythm to it. She waited, testing her hunch...<br /><br />...<br /><br />*thunk*<br /><br />Yes!&nbsp;&nbsp;There it was! Curiosity played at her senses. Maybe she&#039;d find her way, or some food, or...<br /><br />It wasn&#039;t long until she came upon a cabin. It had been there for some time, based on the vines it had growing over the wall. <br /><br />*Thunk!*<br /><br />The sound was close and she hugs the side of the cabin, unsure what she would find...<br /><br />*Thunk! *<br /><br />A person! A PERSON?! She could hardly believe her eyes and started approaching him openly with no fear. However it seemed he finished his task and took his split pieces of wood with him into the cabin. Had he not noticed her? The door closed behind him and she felt a rush of old feelings. This wasn&#039;t the first time a door had been closed on her and she had just the thing! <br /><br />Eagerly she paws as the door, and sits patiently.&nbsp;&nbsp;Nothing. Once more she paws, this time offering a slight whimper. Footsteps on the wooden floors alerts her to his approach and her bushy tail starts to wag instinctively, bush beating the grass around her rump! Her mind raced, <br />&#039;New person!&nbsp;&nbsp;New person! New! NEW!&#039;<br />and her heart thumps heavily in her chest as her heat flares.</span>",
