oscillation of spatial illusion; however I intended for this piece to reach a type of full on ambiguity when I thought about the Baroque painting.\nVelásquez wasn't just focusing on the Infanta Teresa but also intuitively how his patron King Philip IV (and queen) could witness his daughter along with the midgets, dog, nun, the chamberlain way back in space through the lighted entrance and the mirror/portrait of the king himself, being painted by the artist himself onto the canvas in which he included himself painting the painting. hmmm.\nVelásquez fairly had created an optical illusion to the viewer zooming out from the impasto brushwork, and to reflect on this piece, I may have brought some optical illusion, not photographic, but the impression is there for me at least. ^^\nBut I digress.\nSo primarily I was starting on a sfumato with vixen Livia resting on a soft beanbag, then I transitioned to the rosy-faced lovebird in an opened cage. I experimented some more to make a sort of empty frame, past what must be \"glass\" encasing a sort of environment in a zoo, but went into coloring the details of wing and tail feathers within the frame; behind the frame Rayath is standing and is guarding the enclosure or the framed study chart.\nThe vixen can be the focus, but spatially. Or the lovebird could be the focus, complemented by the \"study chart\" of the lovebird himself. The secondary focal point, Rayath, could be gazing at the vixen herself, or he could be intended to distract her away to befriend the lovebird.\nWhat do you think the picture is talking about?
