Theory of operation: The Pal Sphere -Creation The Pal Sphere is a device that is used to contain a stable, inter dimensional rift, kind of like a pocket universe but much smaller. With it's Palium shielding, it can safely contain all of the subdimensional effects until the sphere is thrown and thus opened. The pocket dimension is used to house a sophisticated piece of machinery able to convert a Pal from foe to friend in a matter of seconds. This is only possible as the inside dimensions of the sphere are way large than it is on the outside, as well as a greatly increased speed of time inside the sphere. -Catching When thrown, it's shell will split apart, exposing the blank riftpoint inside. Whatever said rift touches will be pulled inside a pocket dimension. While the sphere is small on the outside, the internal dimensions can be arbitrarily large. Higher level spheres tend to have a bigger internal room and can thus accomodate stronger Pals. Time inside the spheres runs greatly accelerated so that the automated taming process will only take seconds on the outside. However, inside the sphere (And for the Pal) days or weeks may pass. This also has the added benefit of greatly faster regeneration after a fight as there is simply more time passing for the pal to heal. -Binding The Machinery inside the Palball is special built to accomodate many different types, genders and sizes of Pal. As soon as a Pal is pulled into the sphere's internal space, several bindings are set into motion to restrain it. Within seconds, straps are wrapped tighly around the Pal, holding it in place and preventing it's use of various attacks Sometimes, this phase proves difficult for the sphere and the pal will manage to escape, causing the dimensional connection to the Sphere's dimension to break, thus destroying the Sphere. This has a higher chance of happening the stronger and healthier the Pal that's been pulled trough the rift is, so in general, weaker, more worn out Pals are easier to capture. To get around this, higher level spheres may use techniques like electric stunning or fast acting tranquilizers to increase the captute chances. Once the Pal is safely immobilized, it's limbs will be spread apart to assess it's condition, physique and abilities. -Accessing As good as it is to have a safely contained Pal, it's still not of much use if it will simply start fighting again once it's realeased. For the Pal to be useful to the capturer other than a source of raw materials, it's psyche will need to be altered, which marks the most difficult part for the sphere to do. Several electrodes are placed around the Pal's brain to read it's condition and interpret thoughts. After a general scan and assessment, the machine will put in place a visor as well as earphones. Together with a special drug, the image patterns and audio spectrums will be able to access the Pal's brain in a way that allows complete revising of it's function. This effect however is very weak and easily broken by an attentive mind working against it. Early pal sphere prototypes used disruptive techniques like electro shocks or physical hits, though these proved ineffective and in some cases even deadly to the Pal inside. To avoid a long recovery phase or death of a valuable Pal, the Pal spheres in use today rely on an entirely different type of disruption: Sexual stimulus. As it turns out, during an orgasm there is a phase where the mind goes entirely blank and it becomes impossible to hold to any thought, no matter how strong you try. This is exactly the condition needed to access the Pal's mind. During this phase, for a quick moment any mental defense breaks down, allowing the hypnotic effect to grab hold. This brief moment is not enough though as it takes some time for the entire mind to be accessed. This means that multiple cycles are needed for this technique to fully take hold of it's patient luckily, once the hypnotic treatment has taken it's first pass, it can be used to amplify the pleasure received from the orgasm, thus increasing the time it has to work on the next advancement. A particularly strong Pal might need to experience several dozen orgasms, each one stronger than the last as the hypnotic effect is closing in tighter on each round until full access is possible. -Stimuli For this to work, several methods of stimulation are used. In general, the Sphere will try to do it's task as swift as possible, even though time inside the pocket dimension is running faster, taming a Pal will still take time. As such, the sphere will try to stimulate as many pleasure points as possible at once. The main stimulus are two sets of pneumo-electric toys. One for the female and one for the male side that share four methods of stimulus. Female side: The main stimulator for the female Pal's consists of a long, smooth silicone shaft containing an air chamber inside as well as a set of electrode rings on it's outside. It is attached to a reciprocating mechanism, allowing it to be swiftly moved back and forth to imitate natural mating behaviour. The air chamber inside the shaft has a dual purpose; One being a size adjustment to expand the toy to it's users fit and the other being the introduction of a pulsing effect, imitating a heartbeat or strong vibrations In general use, the electrodes are used to sense the lubrication so that no friction injury may occur. In normal use, these stimuly are enough to trigger the Pal's orgasm response reliably. In some cases though, more is needed. For this, the function of the air chambers as well as the electrode set change. Instead of fitting to a speciffic size, the pneumatic chambers are expanded more than usual, stretching the user out and creating an immense sense of pressure and size inside them. At the same time, the electrode set is repurposed from sensing lubrication to applying stimulation. It does so by putting out strong pulses of electric current, directly stimulating the nerve endings in the vicinity. Typically, two of these stimulators are used at the same time, one for each hole. Male side: For male Pal's, this setup is pretty much the same but adapted to their genitals. While one of the same type of rod stimulator as for the female side is used on the anus, a different one is needed for the male parts. This one being not far off from an automated fleshlight, also housing the same air chambers and electrodes around it's perimeter. The air chambers are used to set tightness as well as create a strong 'milking' pulsation if desired. Aditionally, other common stimuly may be used, such as: -Vibrating clamps or rings -Suction pulse stimulators -Body electrodes -Breath control -Pneumatic constrictors (Aka Squeezers / squishers) With the combination of these tools, the Pal sphere is able to induce a very fast succession of orgasms, allowing swift access and conditoning. -Wiping & rewriting After full access to the Pal's mind has been secured, the Sphere will assesses it's psyche and determine the neccesary changes to ensure cooperation. On some Pal's a simple conditioning might be enough, others need a stronger treatment. In general the algorythm will try to leave the Pal's memory and personality intact and rewrite their will. Sometimes however a pal's natural instincs are too strong and the machine will need to rewrite it's mind from scratch. If that is the case, it'll start at the weakest memories and work it's way into deeper areas of the Pal's mind, with the last memories to go being the ones that make up it's personality. From an empty mind, new memories are created, speciffically tailored to the job the Pal will need to fulfill later. -Conditioning If an entire wipe isn't required according to the psyhc assesment, the Sphere will simply condition the Pal's will anew. For this, the old triggers, actions and consequences are erased. Then, the machine will use the stimuli already in place to recondition the Pal's will to it's new environment. In rapid succession, the visor will show a setting to the Pal's mind, giving it just enough time to develop a though. That thought is read back by the machine and scored. If the reaction is desireable, a short burst of pleasure stimulation will cement that descision into the Pal's mind as something good. If the reaction is undesireable, a pair of electrodes will send out a shock, marking that descision as something that will yield pain. These respones are scaled to the magnitude of the thought. While something like attacking the Pal holder will yield several dozen minutes of excruciating pain, a life saving move will trigger enough stimulation for several orgasms. This conditioning part is the longest process the Pal sphere has to do and makes up for the majority of the wait time to capture a Pal. Inside the sphere, the Pal might be forced to run trough scenarios for several weeks, while on the outside literal seconds may pass. -Testing After the conditioning or rewriting is complete, the Pal is put into a longer simulation used to determine the success rate of the procedure. If the Pal's virtual actions are satisfactory, the Pal sphere has completed it's task and will indicate that to the Pal catcher. If the Pal's actions are unfavourable, the Pal sphere will determine the success rate of the procedure and display it outside the Sphere as a hologram, then attempt another cycle, completely starting over from the Mind Access step with a more aggressive setting. Each step, chances to subdue the Pal improve, though there is always a chance for the Pal to escape during the process. -Storing If the Pal sphere has succeeded in converting the Pal, it will remove the stimulators as well as visors and put the Pal in a state of deep sleep. That way it will need neither food nor water no matter how long he is kept there. The bindings however will stay in place to keep it secure inside the pocket dimension. -Accessing Is a inhabited Pal Sphere opened again, the machine inside will wake the Pal out of it's deep sleep and release it out trough the rift.
