The sun shone on the green blades of grass as they softly danced to the morning breeze. Birds chirped harmoniously while flying and various animals awoke from their slumber and the noctornal animals went to sleep. Everything felt at ease there, well, except for one dedicated guardian. He perked up, sniffed the air, and scanned the area for possible intruders on the island. Seeing no sign of tresspassing, he sat down on the shrine steps. He kept up his guard and began to think. Thoughts of the island came to mind and him sitting on the shrine steps, snuggling up to a peach, furless chest. His eyes popped open with a strawberry red blush plastered on his face. He tried to shake his head to remove those thoughts, but everytime he tried to think calmly thoughts of his friendly-rival kept popping up. He sighed and rested his hand on his cheeck, closing his eyes to doze off slightly as he wispered the name he fell in love with years ago. “Sonic...”\n\n\nXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX\n\n\n\n WOOSH! Citizens held on to their papers and girls held down their skirts at the sudden large gust of wind. The gust died down in 3 seconds but the citizens paid no mind. They knew that their blue hero was just passing through. Running as fast as he could, the blue hedgehog screeched to a stop as a billboard sign caught his eye. The board read, “have you always wondered what your difficult to understand friend is thinking? Bring your friend to LOOKINS, and we'll figure out what they could be hiding from you.” He thought about this. Figuring out what his friends really think about him may be beneficial. Amy was too easy to figure out and he didn't want to risk her finding out about this place. So he wouldn't be bringing her. Cream and Tails seem to look up to him as a role model, so bringing them was pointless. He didn't want to take his chances with Shadow, because he would probably be beaten sensless if he ever brought him here. Rouge was out of the question too, because he knew that if he did anything she would try to blackmail him. He thought deeply, until an idea hit him. He knew of one friend that says some things, but means the oppisite. He smirked and decided that it was time he paid a visit to his gardian friend. Maybe he could figure out what goes into his friend's thick skull. He ran in the oppisite direcction as fast as he could.\n\n\nXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX\n\n\n Knuckles smiled as he slept. It looked like a weird sort of medical office. A male clerk greeted them at the reception desk. “Hello. Welcome to the Lookin facility. And you must be... ah yes... Knuckles. You're just in time. You have an appointment in 5 minutes.” Knuckles glared at Sonic who only shrugged his shoulders. The male clerk smiled at the irritated echidna. “Do not worry sir, its only a checkup. I'll let the specialist know that you're here early.” The two sat down on the chairs with the echidna crossing his arms in anger. “Relax, they're just going to see if you're okay.” Knuckles hmphed in anger. “You probably just lured me into the city to get checked up.” Sonic smirked at him. “Don't worry, we'll get something to eat after your check up.” \n\n\n“Mr. Echidna, the specialist will see you now.” Knuckles huffed and followed the woman in the door. We brought you in here because its not safe to bring him out yet, especially if he figures out what this place really is. You said you were his primary caregiver correct?” Sonic rolled his eyes. “Um... No. He lives on his own, I just give him moral support. I only put that on the application because you didn't have FRIEND as an option.” The woman sighed. “Do you swear that you will keep this information confidential?” Sonic nodded. “Alright then, go ahead and read our findings.”\n\n\n Sonic did as told and red all the responses. He then looked at the last one in shock. “Wha...WHAT?! How... How is that even possible.” She placed a hand onto his shoulder to try to calm him down. “I know it seems hard to believe, but thats what he told us.” Sonic scratched the back of his head. “I'll have to see if this is true for myself.” \n\nXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX\n\n The two mobians walked back toward angel island with smiles on their faces. After they finished at the clinic, the two had a good meal in a very good restaurant. Knuckles wasn't sure how Sonic could afford all of this but something different crossed his mind all of a sudden. He sniffed the air attentively, catching a scent that would make the blue blur shiver with fear. “Sonic, its about to rain. We need to go somewhere dry.” Sonic looked around, but saw no storm clouds. “What do you mean its going to rain, I don't see any storm clou-” He was cut off by a loud clap of thunder. “Huh...I guess your right. There seems to be a hotel nearby. Lets stay there for the night.” They ran inside a big, tall hotel building. \n\n“Hello there... oh! Oh my gosh! You're Sonic the hedgehog aren't you?” Sonic smirked at her. “Yup, its me all right.” She placed her hands together and gave a quiet squeal of delight. “Oh my gosh, you are so cool! And...” She notices Knuckles standing behind him. “Aww.... is that your girlfriend?”The red echidna growled and almost said something but stopped when Sonic motioned for him to back off. White curtains draped over the windows, and the plain white sheets complimented the pure white comforter on the bed. Cream paint blanketed the walls, and the carpeting complimented the walls with a lighter hue. The two became settled in their room, but then were faced with a dilemma. There was only one bed. Knuckles secretly wanted to share, but he didn't want to make it as awkward for Sonic as it kind of was for him. He opened his mouth to try to speak, but the blue hedgehog spoke first. “Um... hey, wanna... share the bed?” Knuckles blushed madly at his response. “HUH?!?!
