Chapter 7

(The White Knight)


We join our Heroes the next day after their extreme experience with Myral the third Brother to Mephiles and Mischef, as if finding out a third Voidian makes things better… For now things seem to be quiet as the group was walking down the road and over the hill heading to the next town but as they traveled on, they came across a another dense forest, finding out that they need to cross it to get to the town…and so the group headed deep into the wilderness of unpredictability.

"Man this forest kinda creeps me out... how much further till we get out of here?" Xak asked to anyone who was listening, feeling a little nervous at his surroundings.
"It’s getting a dark let me take care of that.." Solar summoned an orb emitted a bright light that sent the shadows of the forest running behind cover.
"So... are we gonna get to this town only to find out it's... another crap hole like the last one?" Shocram asked.
"No, actually this town is very Beautiful though it also has some questionable.. People but other than that it's worth the trip but I seriously don't remember this forest...” Solar answered, he looked around questioningly, “Lunar do you remember this at all?" Solar asked.
"No not really.. But Obviously thanks to you Solar... we're probably Lost." Lunar complained.
"Hey, at least I'm helping I haven't heard you say anything about directions!" Solar shouted at his brother as they went deeper into the forest.

The further they got into these strange woods the colder it became, soon the group had felt as it there was another unnatural presence among them, it became so cold they could see their own breath swirly around their muzzles.
"Holy c-c-c-ccrap did we just walking into the freaking North pole or something?" Shocram stated as he started to shiver.
"I don't understand what you're talking about guys, I'm honestly comfy..." Xak said, seeming to be not even slightly effected by the strange change in temperature.
"No way, how are you not freezing?!" Solar asked as he too was shivering.
Mia groaned, "I.. I don't feel so good…" she began sneezing left and right like crazy.
"Uh uh OH! I know!" Xak quipped, holding Mia as he hugged her with his arms lit in flames, keeping her warm from the cold, "Wow that actually worked? I am beginning to think these powers aren’t so bad after all...” the others looked at xak with envy as they just remembered that he can command flames.
"So, is she the only one who gets to not die in the cold?" Shocram stated, Xak looked at the others and smiled in apology as he did not know how to command his flames in a wide spread way the same he did for Mia.
"I'm sorry guys I don't know how to keep everyone warm..." Xak said.
The others gave Xak the stink eye as they had to suffer, but suddenly they started to see an eerie white light walking across their line of vision just ahead inside the deep woods.
"w-whoa was that?" Solar said as goose bumps crawling over his skin, making his fur rise up.
"I don't know.. What did you see?" Shocram asked.
"it was like a white... light... and it wasn't from my Orb!" Solar said quickly. Almost not believing what he saw.
"huh?.. I didn't see anything... are you sure you weren’t imagining it?" Shocram muttered.
"No way.. There is something in these woods..” Solar said, “Stay on your guards guys..." the others took heed of his warning, walking further into the woods.

Soon they stopped to rest because of the rapid temperature change slowing everyone down except for Xak, the only one who was not effect because of his black flames keeping him warm, unfortunately the others have no way to warm up, so they stopped to rest as xak went to grab some fire wood to start a fire for the others to warm up against, but sadly all he found was more darkness the further he went to find the wood...
"Geez.. You’d think there would be wood in the forest... guess I'm just stupid huh?" Xak said sarcastically making himself chuckle a little suddenly a breeze whispered into his ears.
"get out..." But he didn't heed the warning and only assumed it was just the wind. But then he heard those same words again but more understandable "Get-OUT!" 
Suddenly xak was struck with fear but he stood in battle stance, ready for whatever was coming, "Whoever you are! You’re not going to scare me, show yourself!" he called out bravely. 
But soon Xak would find himself regretting saying that as he saw a white figure walking through the darkness towards him. It lifted its head revealing its eerie and ominous green eyes; its appearance looked slightly transparent as if Xak was in the company of a Ghost.
"Wh-WH-WHo.. are you?" Xak asked getting a little unnerved.
"My name? ... I don't know who I am... All I know is that... I was sent here... from the beyond..." the ghost answered slowly, looking Xak directly in the eyes.
"then... wh-what do you want?" Xak asked in stutters.
"for you... to simply get out...leave. It’s not safe here.... a monster lurks in these woods... His fear is struck into the living by dropped temperature... curiously though... either you are not scared... or you are too stupid to know what this coldness is?" the ghost asked.
"Hey!” Xak shouted, “I'm not-- wait.. monster.. cold... GUYS!" Xak said as he quickly turned and rushed back to his friends, only to find them gone from camp, nowhere to be seen; missing.
"Where are they?!" xak started searching for them near the place they rested, but found no trace "c'mon guys this isn't funny... get out here right now!" 
Unexpectedly, a hand reach out from behind a bush, Xak rushed to the bush to find Shocram lying on the ground pale and nearly lifeless.
"Shocram what happened tell me!" Xak said as he lifted Shocram up, the ghost revealed himself again to Xak.
"I warned you... To leave... but you didn't listen..." The Ghost said.
"I wasn't going to leave without my friends... tell me where this monster is so I can get my friends back!" Xak shouted at the Ghost.
"Very well... but heed me now... This beast will strike every bit of fear into you... I suggest you prepare yourself... I will take you to him..." The ghost said as he turned away and started walking into a specific direction, Xak followed the Ghost.

(several minutes later)
Xak and the Ghost had finally reached the domain of the beast...only to be greeted with a monstrous roar from deep within the blackness of the cave, suddenly bright white soul piercing eyes shined from the darkness, Xak stood prepared for whatever may come out but to Xak’s surprise so did the Ghost who led him here.
"What? You're going to help me?" Xak asked the ghost.
"Yes.. I can't explain this... but I feel some weird connection with you.. And so for this I shall aid you... stand fast Mortal... the beast approaches." The Ghost said to Xak
"Huh what do you know.. Looks like not all ghost are ever... I like your Spirit... hey.. I'll call you Spirit! And You can call me.. Xak.. Xak BlakPhyre Phenomenon!" Xak said bold confidence.
"huh Spirit?... Sound Interesting.. Very well Xak.. you may address me as Spirit as I to you BlakPhyre..." Spirit agreed and the two stood ready as the beast finally came out of the darkness, the beast was nearly as Spirit had claimed it to be as a monster standing taller than any Mobian to exist with jagged monstrous teeth, Xak spotted his friends inside the cave just behind the best, shivering, and freezing to death.
“Don’t worry Guys I'll get you out of there!" Xak said as he instantly summoned black flames to his hands and charged at the beast leaping high enough to reach its grotesque face, and punch it as hard as he possibly good, to find it no effect it, and was only swipe, but quickly without Hesitation Xak stood back on his feet.
"Tough guy huh! Alright... I got your number!... try this on for size this something new I whipped up.. try my BLACK BULLET!" Xak said as he closed his hand but his index and thumb fingers shaping his hand like a hand gun.. And aimed right at the beasts head and started shooting black fire balls at incredible speeds! Like actual bullets as it was successful penetrating the beats eyes. It roared in anger, it only it pissed it off.
"hmph.. My turn!" Spirit spoke aloud as he put his hand to the ground and arose white Mist of freezing cold... he fused his cold mist with the cold moisture of the surrounding area to create ice spikes, he stood up and stomp the ground that caused the spikes of ice launch themselves at the beasts as it too was effective in penetration.
"HA! I think it's been weakened.. Here I GO!" Xak exclaimed, smiling with the excitement of a battle as he charged again at the beast launching himself high enough again and lit his body up in flames and shaped himself into a ball and Homing struck the beast knocking on its back as Xak was still air born over the lying down monster. He then pulled out another surprise "alright now for my finisher! ... eat this you sick piece crap! BBBLLLAACCCKKK METEOR!" Xak shouted out.
He summoned massive black fire balls to his hands and started rapidly throwing them down at the monster send his flesh to ash successfully, until nothing was left but smoke. As Xak dropped to the ground and stuck the landing.
"wow did I really do that?...." xak said, "I think these Powers aren’t so bad after all.. oh wait GUYS!" with hat he rushed into the cave to pull out his friends as Spirit also helped, but they soon found the cold temperature rising becoming warmer, not as they also spotted away out of the forest, "hey guys are you okay? We can get out of here now!" Xak said in joy.
"uhh... this is embarrassing" Lunar said graveling as he stood up off the ground.
"Oh shut up Lunar.. Like you really have some kind of masculinity to keep up." Solar taunted.
"oh I'll show you masculinity!" Lunar snapped back at Solar as the two Brothers were fighting like usual.
"haha well those two are back to normal...” Xak chuckled, he check on Mia as she was still asleep.
"Hey Mia wake up, are you okay?" Xak said but she was still out cold, "hey Mia! Wake up!" Xak started to panic a little.
"Relax BlakPhyre... she is only sleeping. She is not injured or in danger of any kind... just let her rest." Spirit said.
Shocram had come to as well as he stood up and sniffled still feeling a tad chilly, "Uhh... what happened? Where are we?" Shocram asked in confusion.
"We’re still in the forest but everything is alright now... c'mon guys let’s get going.” He turned to look towards to Spirit, “are you coming with us Spirit?" Xak asked, but when he turned completely, he found Spirit wasn't anywhere to be found. "That’s weird he was just here..."
"Who are you talking to Xak? Who’s Spirit?" Solar asked.
"He's this Ghost I met in the woods.. He helped me save you guys..."Xak exclaimed.
"A ghost? I think you're losing it Xak" Shocram commented.
"Hey i'm not Lying.. why would I lie about a ghost?" Xak said a little peeved, trying to convince them.
"Don't worry BlakPhyre... I shall reveal myself to them in time.. But now would not be best... but know this because of this connection I feel... I shall follow you wherever you go... consider me.. A Guardian over you and your friends..." Spirit said to Xak in his mind
"huh I guess that works.. Alright guys let’s Move out!" Xak said picking up Mia and carried her on his back and they walked out of the Forest
"Wait what works?" Shocram asked.
"Don’t worry about it Shocram, forget I said anything." Xak said as they marched on out of the forest, they suddenly felt that eerie feeling they turned around to look at the forest but their surprise the entire forest had vanished but they did not dwell on this to long as they soon traveled over a hill to discover the town they had been searching for! Finally the group could rest and relax, and get somehot food.


(Mean while)

"Okay... so explain to me again Myral... how did the Monster loose? it was suppose to be full Proof!" Mischef said.
"How should I know? The worthless hedgehog just blasted it with Black flames and killed it.. Who am I supposed to know he could do that?" Myral exclaimed.
"what... so then he is getting stronger... crap.. we need to hurry with our plans if we ever wish to release Lord M--"
"Relax Mischef..." Mephiles said
"But Brother Mephiles if we don't hurry we'll--"
"I said relax... everything will be fine.. No matter how strong he gets he will still be our Pawn..." Mephiles said confidently.
"um not to break up the cute conversation... but I have an Idea... hehehe!" Myral chuckled deviously.
"Proceed?.." Mischef in interest.
"hehe why not... how about I just show you my plan instead of Explaining it MUWAHAHAHAAA!" Myral laughed as he suddenly vanished before the two brother's eyes.
"Where is he going? What is he going to do?" Mischef said a slight panic in his tone of voice.
"hmhmhm relax Mischef.. it's Myral.. if he has a plan.. it's sure to be good.." Mephiles said.
"Yeah.. that’s what I'm a little afraid of.." Mischef muttered.
