","writing":"Life with a grump\n\nHaving Shadow by his side has been incredible. In all his years of living, Sonic always traveled the world and going where the wind takes him. Never thought he would find someone who could catch up with him. But the funny thing is crazy things always turned up in Sonic’s life when he least suspect it.\n \nIt all started about 7 years ago with the Metal Madness incident; after the whole fiasco was done and over with, Sonic tried to become friends with Shadow. Turns out Shads had lost his memory again, who knew? Although it took some persuasion, Sonic managed to convince Shadow to let him help.\n\nUnfortunately, Shadow couldn’t remember anything no matter what Sonic did to remind him of anything. But Shadow appreciated the help and even agreed to hang out with Sonic. (On his terms, mind you.) Whenever they weren’t racing each other, they were talking with each other or just enjoying each other’s company. They slowly got closer with each other as the days went by.\n\nAfter about a year Shadow finally started calling Sonic by his name, instead of just faker or hedgehog. That’s when the black arms invaded. And Black Doom made his appearance. The alien tyrant tried to manipulate Shadow to join his side and destroy the world. But thankfully with Sonic’s good influence and being the one who tried to get Shadow out of the dark, he didn’t fall to the path of mindless destruction. Once Black Doom was defeated once and for all, Shadow went back to ark. Everyone thought he needed some space.\n\nThe next week was slow for Sonic. He was glad the world was saved but he couldn’t stop thinking about what Shadow was doing up there. Whenever he ran around, he would hope to see Shadow right by his side. \n\nAt the end of the week, Sonic was relaxing by a lake with his feet in the cool water. He was just about to doze off when he heard a baritone voice from behind ask him if he should come back later. The blue blur was startled awake and fell into the lake. When got out he was surprised to hear laughter. Deep, unfamiliar laughter. He looked to see Shadow was the one chuckling. One hand was on his stomach and the other on his mouth trying to hide his smile. \n\nInstead of getting upset, Sonic smirked and began to shake around like a wet dog and the result was his fur standing all over the place. Not even the ultimate lifeform couldn’t resist laughing hysterically at something so ridiculous; Sonic took in the real emotion on Shadow’s face with pride. Despite his quills being a mess now.\n\nOnce Shadow calmed down a small smile remaining on his face, he stood in front of Sonic and hugged him. Sonic’s eyes were literally bulging out head in shock. Last year when Sonic hugged Shadow he got shoved away and though he didn’t get any death threats, he didn’t take any chances after that. Yet it seemed their roles were reversed at the moment. \n\nWhen Shadow lets go he told Sonic that he remembers everything, from the times they had fought each other to when they saved the world together. The black blur was touched that despite everything, Sonic still wanted to be his friend and help him but still couldn’t understand why. Sonic replied, “Do I need a reason to help a friend?” Sonic then tested the waters and hugged Shadow whom gladly returned it.\n\nAfter that strange day, Shadow seemed different. Not when others were around but when it’s just them he seemed… warmer. More willing to do things and show his emotions when it’s just with Sonic. He plays video games with him, watches bad movies with him and even laughs at corny jokes. He is more willing to be touched so they cuddled and kissed often. They both touched and rubbed every scar the other had, feeling guilty if it was one they caused. Sonic, much to Shadow’s horror, learned that the ultimate lifeform is super ticklish around his sides. Something he exploits whenever Shadow is being too grumpy for his tastes.\n\nThey talked to each other about their problems. When Shadow admitted about how he still feels guilty not being able to save Maria. Sonic would tell him how he had nightmares about not being able to save Shadow when they first turned super. Something Shadow was quite surprised to hear.\n\nOn Sonic’s 18th birthday, Shadow confessed his feelings for him and the look in Shadow’s eyes when the hero said he returned his feeling was one he would never forget. \n\n6 months later, Shadow asked Sonic to make love to him. They both lost their virginities that night. And Sonic learned how vocal and responsive Shadow can be. The look of adoration and trust those crimson eyes gave him throughout the entire act. \n\nIt warmed Sonic’s heart to see how beautiful Shadow looked enjoying himself.\n\nThat morning, Sonic convinced Shadow they should stop hiding their relationship from their friends if their taking this any further. Reluctantly Shadow agreed and they brought everyone to a picnic outside. After having bellies full of food, Sonic said he had an announcement. He called Shadow from under the tree. The black hedgehog hid his nervousness with a stoic face. Much to his and everyone’s surprise, Sonic literally swept Shadow off his feet and gave him a big smacker on the lips. Not a sound was heard except for Knuckles jaw hitting the ground. Once Sonic stopped and opened his eyes to see a dazed Shadow. He turned his head towards his friends and saw faces full shock, approval or in Rouge’s case; smugness.\n\nTails walked towards Sonic with a smile. He said he and Rouge already knew as well as fully supported them. Sonic hugged the fox in gratitude for the best bro ever then gave him a noogie. When he let go of Tails he turned to the rest of his friends to see they all were okay with their relationship as well, even Knuckles though he and Shadow aren’t exactly on the best terms. The echidna promised if Shadow tried anything, he’d bop him straight to the sun. Sonic just laughed it off. \n\nOnce most of the crowd dispensed, Sonic could see Shadow talking to someone. It was Amy, she was smiling sadly. She was the last person he thought would be okay with this. Don’t get him wrong, Amy Rose is a great gal but her jealously tends to get the better of her. Sonic didn’t want to intervene, since it seems there won’t be a rumble yet. Shadow seemed to be telling Amy something that made her smile a little brighter and they hugged. \n\nWhen Shadow went towards his lover, Sonic gave him a knowing look. Shadow told him that all Amy wanted was for you to be happy and made him promise to take care of her hero. Sonic was impressed with how well Amy was handling this. Looks like she’s maturing into the independent woman she always wanted to be.\n\n\nNowadays Sonic and Shadow traveled the world together, exploring new places and helping people out. They saw and did many wonderful things together. Everybody at this point knows that they’re dating. The media calls them; The Ultimate Power Couple!
