All the Babes (expect Maria ;D) belong to (c) Sega","writing":"Artificial Amusement\nAmy Rose can’t believe this is happening; this all has to be a dream! ‘God, I must be the worst babysitter ever!’ she thought bitterly as she searched franticly and cutting through the mobians crowding her. \nShe was entrusted by Sonic and Shadow to take care of Maria for the first time, since they had to beat Eggman again since the good doctor deemed that their child is fit to take care of herself. (Even though she’s only 3 and a half) Not pleased with the thought of Maria being alone in the house with sharp objects, they decided that someone trustworthy should look after her.\nVanilla was the original option, however to celebrate spring break both she, Cream and Cheese went to Soleanna for spring break. So they went to the next person they knew that was great with kids.\nMaria was super excited she gets to play with her Auntie Amy! They decided to spend their first day together at Twinkle Park! Maria was so excited about going on the rollercoasters, that Amy felt bad she to tell her Maria had it wait until she was taller before she could go on the big kid rides. \nBut with the promise of arcade games and ice cream later made cheered Maria up. But when the moment they got inside, they saw it was crowded with people. \nAmy determined to pass through, gently grabbed Maria hand and told her to hold on. That’s when things had gone downhill. As they quickly passed through the stampede, a rude and badly tempered ox roughly shoved Amy out of the way. Amy was about to hammer the guy off of the planet only for horrific realization to hit her first. Maria was nowhere to be found. She lost her.\nIt’s been a whole hour since that happened and Amy was on the verge of tear. How could she be so stupid? Sonic and Shadow would never forgive her! And Maria could be lost or kidnapped or worse… \n‘No.’ the pink hedgehog thought firmly, ‘I’m not giving up Maria! I will find you!’ Then a high pitched scream pierced through the sky. \n“What the…?” Amy turned her head to the source of the noise behind her and saw one of the most popular rides in Twinkle Park; Sonic Rush, a rollarcoaster based on a certain lovable blue hedgehog. She heard the cry again and tilted her head up a little towards the sky and saw the tracks of the ride. And flying around said tracks was none other than Metal Sonic, and he was holding a familiar, shrieking toddler.\n“Maria?! Metal Sonic?!?” Amy gawked in horror and confusion. Didn’t Shadow and Omega help reform Metal? Did Dr. Eggman capture and reprogram him? Is he evil again? She shook her head and a fire burned in her eyes. Snapping her fingers, her piko-piko hammer appeared in her hands.\nIt doesn’t matter now! Maria was in danger and Metal Sonic’s putting her in danger. And Amy Rose is gonna bring him down to-wait, is Maria laughing now? Amy blinked away her rage to get a better look at Maria’s face.\nShe was in laughing and whooping, with the biggest smile on her face as Metal flew them in sync with the people on the rollarcoaster , going up n down, zig zag and of course the famous loop. Amy didn’t think it was actually possible for a jaw to hit the floor until now… \n\nWhen Metal Sonic finally landed, he gently set Maria down. The child of the two famous then hugged Metal’s leg in gratitude. “Thank you, Uncle Metal.” Metal Sonic said nothing but instead patted the tiny hoglet’s head which she giggled at. That’s when Amy decided to walk into the scene. Maria immediately ran and clung to Amy’s leg much like she did with Metal’s. “I found you, Auntie!” she said with a grin. Amy smiled back and went down to her level to hug her close. “You sure did, Sweetie…” \nOnce Amy stood back up she looked to Metal. She mouthed a thank you. Metal Sonic nodded in response.\n30 minutes later…\nMaria, Amy and Metal were currently resting at a table enjoying their soft served ice cream. Well, the girls did. Maria was telling Amy about how after they lost each other she managed to get out of crowd and Metal had found her crying. He wiped away her tears and offered to get her a chilidog. With her belly full and her eyes dry, Metal asked her if she knew where her parents were. \nMaria explained that Amy was babysitting her today and asked Metal if she can find her. Unfortunately, Metal’s tracker was malfunctioning today so he won’t be able to locate the pink one. That was when Maria looked like she was about to cry again and Metal, with the desire to keep Maria happy asked if she wanted to go on a rollarcoaster. The sparkle in her eyes could even melt a robot’s heart.\nHowever once they reached the front of the line. The parrot managing the coaster said Maria was too small. Metal first thought was plowing Toucan Sam full of lead, but all that did was make Maria scolding him for resorting to violence. He doubts this is Shadow’s child.\nSo they found a loop hole. The rules were Maria wasn’t allowed on the ride. Nothing against her flying on a robot beside it, and boy was riding on a robot much more fun than a dumb old coaster.\nWhich leads to the present moment, with Amy sighing in relief that this whole fiasco has been cleared up, but it just clicked to her that one thing still seemed off.\n“Hey Metal, why are you here in the first place?” Metal snapped his head towards her, causing Amy to involuntary flinch. A voice much like Sonic’s but more electronic and slightly deeper spoke to her.\n“…Why do you wish to know this?” Metal said almost…nervously? Amy felt a little prideful about this. She’s really must be scaring Metal with her question. She knows it’s a little mean to feel this way, but he did kidnap her in the past. She took a casual bite of her ice-cream, giving Metal a teasing grin saying, “I just think it’s weird that a powerful robot with loner’s attitude that would’ve put Shadow to shame, would have better things to do then be at a amusement park.” She swears if Metal could shake in fear he would.\n“On any other day that may be true, but for today…I had nothing else planned.” Before Amy could continue trying to dig into his head, a shocking sight of gold, black and red appeared at the table. \n“Metal Sonic, my apologies for arriving late, I had urgent matters that needed attending. Shall we proceed with today’s activities?” Metal Sonic got up from his seat and wrapped his hand as best as he could around Omega’s giant claws. \n“Affirmative, Omega.” After the huge combat droid affectionately rubbed Maria’s head, the robotic duo walked away from the girls. Just before they were out of sight, Metal turned his head to a shocked Amy and gave her thumbs up while he kept walking hand in hand with Omega.\n“Aww…that’s sweet!” Maria said happily.
