I ended up writing more like a short story... haaaa..... most of it is just background story to how he wound up like this xD\n\n[i]Stomak the Avali was traversing the stars, exploring the wonders of space all on his own. Normally Avali remained in packs, everything was pack activity, especially when traveling through space. However, this particular Avali was traveling alone. He kind of preferred it this way sometimes, no pack of his own, all on his lonesome, no one to slow him down as he explored the limitless planets to discover and to examine. All the planet compositions, their geology, their climates and weather, their flora and fauna. Such things fascinated the Avali as he explored new worlds. He'd grown quite confident in himself, not needing any help in his exploration or his survival, he could handle himself quite well. \n\nHe had just finished exploring and examining the world he was currently orbiting, deciding to move onto the next planet. He browsed through his ship's star map and decided to pick a random new world he'd never explored yet. A lush planet was his new chosen destination, easy. Such worlds were usually teeming with life and biodiversity, perfect for discovering new plants and wildlife as well as have stunning scenery. He locked onto the coordinates of the new planet and warped into hyper drive, barreling through space faster than light, and re-emerging from hyperspace mere minutes later, with the new planet now close to orbital distance. The last bit of flying toward the planet's orbit was longer than the trip through hyperspace as he was now bound by the universe's speed limit on light before finally arriving in the ship's orbit. As his ship orbited around the new planet, he ran scans of the world below, picking up various specific readings. \n\nThe ship's sensors picked up the planet's elemental composition, what type of atmosphere the planet has, how intense the gravity is, and what type of flora and fauna reside. Additionally, he ran a scan for technological signatures to detect the presence of a local highly intelligent species. He'd encountered other highly intelligent species before, but only space faring colonists who settled on various planets. The planet below showed no indication of any technological signatures, meaning a highly intelligent species on the planet was unlikely, just flora and fauna. \n\nNormally, Avali are ammonia based life forms, meaning their normal homeworld has extremely cold temperatures, but most Avali undergo modifications to their body within their lifetime. Stomak had been given body modifications to handle the same types of atmospheres, temperatures, radiation levels, etc as most water based life forms throughout the universe. Water based life being the most common form of life made it difficult for Avali to share accommodations with other space faring species, so these modifications were almost necessary for an Avali space explorer. \n\nThe planet below his ship indicated a breathable atmosphere and comfortable temperatures for most water based life forms like those found on Earth, a planet he had visited once before and saw the human's home world. With his scans complete, and his ship still orbiting the planet, he began to suit up to beam down to the planet, putting on his lightweight exosuit which was lightly armored and his scout visor with HUD. He also grabbed an aerogel spear and aerogel knife, just in case he encountered some dangerous wildlife. All suited up and armed, he walked to his teleporter and beamed down to the planet below, rearranging his atoms as they disappeared from his ship.\n\nWith a beam of light from the sky, his atoms reassembled and he was now on the planet. He took a deep breath and smelled the fresh scent of a newly discovered planet, its scent never perceived by him till now. He walked with his spear like a walking stick as the knife was on his hip, taking in the sights and sounds of the plants and wildlife. The world was teeming with life, with plenty of trees, grass, a river nearby, small animals skittering into the brush. \n\nHe kept walking through the forest until suddenly something swiftly wrapped around his leg and before he could even comprehend what just happened he was dangling upside down in the air, a rope snare caught his leg!
