Darkness was more than his home. Darkness—close, mysterious, intimate darkness—was his lover. Darkness wrapped itself around him. Darkness breathed into his ears. Darkness alone touched his flesh.
The monitors—the playhouse constellations of technology—were deafeningly bright. But that was what passion was about. The contrast: the cold of air on naked fur and the warmth of a close body, the softness of silk and the roughness of penetration, the sweetness of the rose and the bitterness of sweat and musk. And the light, that showed all the secret things he could desire, and the darkness, that caressed him.
And in the darkness he could see anyone, anything. Not that anyone else would have been able to tell. Hidden cameras, hidden images. I’ve been somewhat eager to get to this one. Since I put “Once More, with Feeling” on the prize list, I wondered which pictures people would want to see redone from the ground up. And I’m really proud of how far I’ve come.
