  "description": "Some much earlier sketches of Boe! I think this was actually the first time I had drawn him.\n\n[b]Boe's Breed[/b]\n\nStill playing with the idea that he's a mix. Mixed breeds in the dogverse (a dogs-only universe where most of my characters are from) work sort of like Pokemon breeding, where pups will almost always be the same breed as the mother, with very slight traits from the father's breed (if it's different then mom's). The opposite is also true - in rare cases where the pup is the father's breed, they'll only have slight traits from mom's.\n\nIn Boe's case, his mom would have been a basenji, but I've always pictured Boe being [i]just[/i] a little round in the face, and having a tiny belly... so maybe his dad was a pit bull? Or some other stockier breed like that.\n\n[b]The plush stuff[/b]\n\nI also learned early on that Boe is a peeping tom... and plushophile? I never planned that, it just kind of happened haha.\n\nSomeone asked if his plushophilia is directly related to his pedophilia, and I decided... not really? Not exactly. As an adult, he 100% conflates the two, but he [i]starts[/i] messing around with plushies before he realizes anything else about his sexuality, just because he would have been a horny teenager, rubbing his dick on anything he could find. Maybe his mother's boyfriend at the time won her one of those big plushies from a county fair and Boe wanted to experiment with it? Something genuinely innocent like that, that would create positive associations later.\n\nMy partner Skott and I joked at the time that he stole the plush from a kid whose house he delivered to. Not canon... maybe. Mostly because I don't think he has the balls to just straight-up steal something that big. He'd totally take a hair barrette though.\n\nWe could entertain the idea that he was only interested in plushies because of his yet-to-be-discovered interest in kids, but since there was nothing involving kids at the time and Boe had no way of knowing how he would turn out, it can really only function as foreshadowing for us, the reader. He only consciously intertwines them later on.\n\n[b]Discovery[/b]\n\nBoe discovers his sexuality while working at a department store, taking photos at those.. booths? sections? They'd have like a chair and some fabric for the backdrop, and you'd take little wallet photos.\n\nHe realizes he's having entirely the wrong reaction when he photographs pups, so he decides he'd rather be in the back room, developing other people's photos rather than taking them himself. This goes great for him... until he realizes that a lot of people take (family-friendly) photos of their kids, and he's alone with them.\n\nF in chat for Boe.",
