The folf willed his fist to knock three times on the door, standing in the cold nervously as he heard the telltale thumping footsteps of the resident. The door opened wide, and in the dark doorway a pair of blood red eyes narrowed on him. "You're late," was the only grunt that came before the rex turned and walked down the hallway. The entire house was dark, all light were off save for the what emanated behind a door in the back. Nik's anxiety heightened as he realized this wasn't the door to his bedroom. Nox opened the door and motioned with his head to go in, and the folf obediently obeyed. The light from a nearby lamp only barely lit the room, the folf's eyes trying to adjust for that brief moment.
"This the kid?" An unfamiliar gruff voice called out. Nik's ears stood up, and as his eyes focused he saw that they weren't alone in the room. Sitting at a small table strewn with beers and cards sat two figures. The first one was a large Rex, much like Nox, but with red feathers with graying tips and small spikes dotting his face. Nik had never seen him before, but he saw the family resemblance to another Rex he knew. Tagg, and it was clear from the graying tips and larger size that this was his father, Dagg as some of the others called him since he never really mentioned his name.
The other was noticeably smaller, but still bigger than Nik. The horns on his nose and head lead Nik to think it was a dragon, but as his eyes shifted downwards he noticed the curved talons on his feet, marking him as a raptor. Though he was another individual the folf had never met, the hair and the gray skin tipped him off to who he was. Kane, Genesis's father who he had heard so much about from Vergence and others.
"Yep," Nox replied, slamming the door behind them, making Nik jump. Nox came up close behind Nik, a large hand clasping his shoulder. "I figured you could join us on our little get together here tonight," Nox said with an eerie calm, large teeth showing brightly in a grin. Nik audibly gulped.

Nik could feel all their eyes on him, and he could swear he felt their gazes weighing him down. Nox chuckled, patting Nik's shoulder not too gently. "My friends heard so much about you and wanted to meet you."
Nik stood still, trying to come up with something to say. Something to get their eyes off of him. But all that came out was, "You have friends?" This got a round of chuckles from the other two. Nox didn't react, but Nik could tell he was irked. "I didn't think you would be friends with a raptor either."
