"writing": "PS. cursive means a flashback!\nAlso.\n-WARNING-\n-ALOT OF FLAHBACKS IN THIS CHAPTER TOO-\nAbandoned: Chapter 3\n\nThe days and eventually weeks continued to drag on and on and soon enough the day came that marked my one year and five month stay onboard the Black Comet, but I could hardly care. Because for one, I didn't care for time by now. And second, the time spend here was hardly my concern for I had bigger issues to think of.\nAnd one of those was currently residing in my abdomen.\nJust like Black Doom had predicted, my own body had begun to reproduce asexually. Once the stubborn discomfort in my belly had gradually ceased, I knew it was only a matter of time before I began to grow on my own for once.\nAnd I just knew I was right.\nI couldn't see anything different with my belly. Because of my body's ability to recover fast and easy, I had retained my flat belly and what muscle I had. That was atleast some comfort and something I mentally thanked my dead creator for. If I were to ever get out of these restraints, I know that I will still be able to walk, even if that would be unimaginable for any normal mobian or human.\nAlthough, I was far from normal now.\nMy belly may have been flat, I know it wouldn't take long before that changed again. My womb felt so full and heavy with something, as it had become abnormally sensitive during my body's change. I figured that I had developed that ability in order to make sure that everything was alright with my offspring in there.\nThe feeling in my womb was incredibly annoying at first, but as the meaning behind it sunk it, I just couldn't hate it.\nAll that really bothered me was the relentless pain inside my skull, the pain that felt like someone or something had bashed my brains in with a metal pipe and I had somehow managed to stay concious.\nThat's what I imagined it felt like. Of course, I had no experience with having my head beaten by a pipe, but I did get shot once during a mission for G.U.N. I don't remember what it felt like as it had suddenly turned black before waking up in the hospital. Like pulling the plug on a computer. An instant black screen. No sound, no feeling, no visual.\nWhen I had awoken in the hospital, I found Rouge sobbing by my bed side as she told me how happy she was to see me wake up. She genuinely thought I had died. She told me she had seen me get shot right in front of her. Blood splattering everywhere aswell as bits of brain and pieces of skull because of how heavy and explosive the bullets were. Apparently my face, or what remained of it, was contorted in utter horror.\nLater on it all grew back and I woke up when my brain could fuction normally again, but in that moment I was incredibly glad I had 'died' before I could feel anything.\nWhat better way to proof one's immortality, right?\nI remember Rouge still being traumatised by it. She didn't like anyone bringing it up. When someone did, she either immediatly changed the subject or she would get a distant look in her eyes along with fear or shock. So I never brought it up for her sanity.\nA deep, tired sigh left my lungs. This headache was immensely exhausting. I wonder why it hadn't passed yet just like the discomfort in my lower belly. Because of the odd feeling in there, I had assumed my body was done changing. But apparently I was wrong. Or that was the only explanation I could come up with.\nBut what needed changing in my head?\nI wish this infernal headache would stop already. Maybe then I could try and think of some kind of answer. But the only answer I got was an even bigger headache.\nMaybe if I sleep a little, I'll be able to rest my mind and atleast lessen the pain a little.\nBut when I woke up, it was obvious the pain was all but faded.\n\nSonic's POV\n\nI never got tired of smashing bots. Especially if those bots happen to be Eggman's. The man himself had finally noticed I had infeltrated his secret base and send every robot he had after me. And with the Chaos Emerald in hand, I began to destroy them all. Being quiet and sneaky was now a thing of the past.\nI sped past the several doors and corridors and spindashed through each robot I met on the way out. Before I knew it, and much to my dissapointment, I was already back in the hangar where I entered Eggman's dome in the first place.\nThere were two of those big robots, similar to the one in the room where the Chaos Emerald was held, send here to intercept me.\nI smirked as, despites Eggman's attempts to keep me here in the base to get the emerald back from me, he was going to indirectly help me in my escape.\n\"Get back here, you wretched rodent!\" I could hear Eggman's furious voice shout from way down the hallway, he was actually surprisingly fast for a man with his build.\n\"No way, Egghead! I'm getting out of here!\" I yelled back at him, looking back over my shoulder for a split second before turning back to the duo of robots. I decided to use their height to my advantage and jumped towards the platform as high as I could, spindashing through it.\nThe feeling and smell of fresh air hit me before I landed with my two feet on top of the metal dome. I took a moment to inhale the fresh air after such a long time of being stuck in that stuffy base before looking down in the hole where the platform used to be.\n\"See ya later, Egghead!\" I yelled at top of my lungs before speeding away, leaving Eggman to curse my very existence.\n\nIt didn't take me long to get home, bursting in through the front door and loudly exclaiming how I had beaten Eggman's sorry ass and retrieved the Chaos Emerald succesfully.\nBut as I walked into Tails' workplace, my conquest was quickly forgotten.\n\"Knuckles? What're you doing here?\" I asked as I saw the red echidna standing next to Tails, who was sitting behind his computer. I had a feeling about why Knuckles was here, but I didn't want to say it out loud in case it wasn't true.\nKnuckles sighed before answering. He didn't like going back on his word.\n\"I changed my mind. I've realised that helping a friend of ours is just as important as my duty to the Master Emerald. Especially if that friend happens to be a Chaos Master.\" He stated, crossing his arms in front of him. Going back on his word had never been comfortable to him. So he used Shadow's Chaos Control as an excuse to change his mind.\nKnuckles was a tough guy, but he really did care. I was still stumped.\n\"Are you serious? Who's looking out for the Master Emerald while you're gone? I thought the sole reason you didn't want to go was because you had to watch that thing.\" I asked, wanting to know if he had actually thought this through or just changed his mind on a whim because he felt guilty for turning down the chance to help a friend who might very well be tortured or used in some kind of disgusting way as we speak.\n\"The Chaotix have promised to look out for the Master Emerald. I trust their ability to keep her safe.\" He responded. He did think this thing through. This is great! Now we have an extra pair of hands to help us find the remaining Chaos Emeralds!\nSpeaking of Chaos Emeralds.\n\"Here it is, Tails! Three down and four more to go!\" I stated proudly and handed my little bro the glowing emerald.\n\"Great! At this rate we'll find all the Chaos Emeralds and leave for space in no time!\" Tails was just as excited as I was as he took the emerald and hid it safely in the safe with the other two emeralds we collected.\n\"By the way, where's Rouge?\" I asked. I've been gone for hours because I followed Tails' advice to take this slow and not get into trouble. She should've been back by now.\n\"Yeah, about that. She hasn't returned yet and she hasn't been in touch with me either. I think that she might've gotten in trouble.\" Tails explained, now visibly nervous.\nRouge knew G.U.N like the back of her hand and she was a master at stealing precious gems and jewelry. Tails was right in being nervous. It was very suspicious that she hadn't returned yet. She must've gotten into trouble.\n\"Don't worry, lil' bro! I'll get Knuckles' girlfriend here safe and sound in no time!\" I reassured him and speeded out of the house into the direction of the G.U.N Headquarters before the guardian had a chance of retorting anything back.\nNow I have to focus on saving Rouge and retrieving the fourth Chaos Emerald.\n\nXOX\n\nTears filled my eyes when I woke up with this terrible pain in my head for the so maniest day in a row. I was so sick of this! Why didn't it leave?! What caused it?! And why wasn't Black Doom providing me any sort of information?! He must know what's going on since he was the one who put me in this predicament, but he's just keeping me in the dark about the whole thing!\nIn fact, I've been hearing less and less of him. I guess he was getting bored of hearing me suffer and decided to let me do it on my own instead?\n\"Damn...\" I growled. Atleast the light was pretty dim in here, that way there was no light to worsen my headache.\n\"Don't worry, I'm not always so angry, despite what many people think.\" I spoke out loud. This constant isolation and Black Doom's less frequent want to communicate with me had forced me to develope a rather bad habit. Recently I had begun to talk to myself.\nWell, not really only to myself.\nI was also talking to whatever I must be carrying now.\nIt's been a month since the discomfort in my belly had ceased. I had already assumed that I might be pregnant and, of course, I was right. In these past four weeks my belly had grown again. By normal mobian standards, I looked like I was about three to four months far now. I was glad they were growing on a slower pace. Sure, not as slow as normal Mobian infants, but I prefered it greatly over getting stuffed to the brim with eggs in one go and having my belly stretched to the limit with way too many eggs.\nI tried to concentrate on the beings growing inside in an attempt to ignore the pain, no matter how unbearable it was.\nSome more time passed and I decided to try something I never though I'd ever want to do. I tried calling for Back Doom. There were still alot of questions that needed answering and I wasn't getting the answers I needed from talking to my unborn alien children.\n'Come on, Doom, why are you ignoring me?' I mentally asked the alien overlord, trying to use that mental mind connection thing he seemed to have with all of his spawns. I tried and tried, but I didn't get any sort of response.\nI could sense his presence, but it was like he was just out of my reach. It was a very frustrating feeling. And not only was it frustrating as hell, but failing to get into contact with Black Doom also worsened my headache.\nGuess I have to try again later.\n\nSonic's POV\n\nRouge was in big trouble, I just knew it, I could feel it in my bones. She wasn't responding to any of our messages and she had yet to return. She knew the G.U.N base like the back of her hand, she should've been back by now. That bat must be in trouble, there was no other explanation.\nI had to find her and bring her back safely. Preferably I'd also like to try and grab their Chaos Emerald. That way we would be another step closer to Shadow.\nWith my speed it didn't take long before I stood outside of the fence that surrounded the perimeter.\nFor this trip I wore an earpiece. That way Tails and I could stay in contact while I infiltrated this place. I didn't know G.U.N like Team Dark does, so I will have to rely on Tails while he hacked into the military computer to provide me with outside help and, hopefully, Rouge's location.\nIt took a while before I got the okay from Tails, but when I did and I watched as cameras were suddenly and mysteriously being shut down, I sprinted forward towards the metal fence, climbing over it with ease.\nI spotted the closest door and ran towards it, carefully pushing the handle down and sneaking in after opening the door as quietly as possible.\nNow this mission I gladly did quietly. It was a real drag, but here I found it to be more necessary than in Eggman's base. In there I had to be quiet and slow in order to keep Eggman off our tail while we tried to rescue Shadow. In here I have to be quiet and slow in order to stay hidden and keep G.U.N our friend.\nYou do not want to mess with G.U.N. We've all learned that lesson after we heard of what they had done to the Ark, Shadow's place of birth.\n\"Anything yet, Tails?\" I whispered.\n\"I have your location on the map of the level you're currently in. I'm trying to disable all security cameras around you. You can use your speed if you want, but be carefuly when turning a corner. Also, I'm downloading the blueprints of every floor and building in the G.U.N HQ. Hopefully I'll be able to use them and the cameras to find Rouge and the Chaos Emerald.\" I could hear Tails whisper from the other side of the line, as if speaking one tone harder would alert everyone of my current location.\n\"Okay, tell me if you find anything.\" I requested before running to the end of the hallway and glancing around the corner.\nI had left close to the evening so there was already barely anyone around. There was the occasional soldier patroling, scientists working overtime and janitors cleaning the place. With Tails shutting the cameras off, it should be a breeze trying to past them.\nMost of the hallways were empty and all I had to do was waity for my lil' bro to shut the cameras off before speeding to the end of the hallway and checking the next one for any people and waited for the cameras in that one to die temporarily too.\n\"Sonic, you should try and go down to the underground levels. The lower levels are mainly prisons, storages and laboratories. You can take a nearby elevator. According to Knuckles those hallways are empty now, so you should be able to reach those floors with little problem.\" I could hear Tails say, still speaking as softly as before. Knuckles must be in charge of checking the security tapes.\n\"Prisons and laboratories? Okay.\" I responded and advanced into the directions I was given.\nThe underground laboratories? Isn't that where they kept people like Shadow? I've heard him once say that he brought some of the most horrible years of life down in that place before being sedated completely and transfered over to Prison Island to be kept there in suspended animation.\nHe would've stayed there if Eggman hadn't woken him up. Nobody would've known he existed, not even us.\nI had almost run right past the elevator because I was lost in thought for a moment, but I quickly came to a halt and pressed the button to call up the lift.\nI rode the lift down to the first prison floor. Just like Tails had said the corridors here were empty. There were a couple of holding cells which looked like they were still in use, but most of them were a little on the dusty side. It looks like not all of the underground is in use.\nAfter looking into every prison cell I came across on this floor, I had to come to the conclusion that Rouge or the Chaos Emerald weren't here. So I took the elevator to the second prison floor, to which I came to the same conclusion. The third floor was the same.\nI dreaded searching the underground laboratories, but I had to go there next.\nReluctantly I traveled back to the elevator and rode it to the next level.\nIt was only when I arrived at the first laboratory floor that I received another message from Tails.\n\"Sonic, Rouge isn't in te underground like any infiltrator would be. Knuckles found her sitting in the Commander's office with the Chaos Emerald with her. The Commander's office is at the very top of the building.\" The kitsune informed me.\nI felt relief upon hearing that new info. After hearing all those stories from Shadow, I really wasn't looking forward to searching this place.\nSince I now knew where Rouge was now, there was no need to search every floor. So I opted to take the stairs this time, sprinting to the very top. And I was barely out of breath! Other people would've found this a nightmare.\nI arrived at the upper most level and sneaked a peek inside to discover that Tails had already taken care off the cameras here. So far there wasn't anyone around either.\nSo I came out into the corridor and made my way towards the Commander's office, knowing from memory where it was.\nI just walked inside and found Rouge sitting there, looking back at me. The Chaos Emerald was sitting in front of her on the desk and the Commander, Abraham Tower, was sitting behind it. It seemed like he expected me.\nI was surprised at first, but the Commander didn't wait for me to speak before talking himself.\n\"Tell me, Sonic, why does my best spy decide to break into her own workplace to steal a Chaos Emerald and keep quiet when I ask her the real reason only to see you bursting in through the door without even alerting me of your presence?\" The Commander asked, his elbows leaning on his desk. He wore a serious look on his face. He really did not appreciate this.\n\"Isn't it obvious? We're here for the Chaos Emeralds.\" I replied, staying as vague as Rouge had apparently been, which didn't sit well with the Commander.\nYou might think why we would be so secretive towards Abraham, who used to be Shadow's boss. But this guy was one of the people who sided with the peope who wanted to deliver Shadow over to the aliens.\nI didn't want to risk having this guy in our way of traveling to space to find the Black Comet.\n\"Evidently, but why do you need the Chaos Emerald. Are you collecting them all?\" Abraham asked.\n\"Because we don't want Eggy to get them. Why else?\" I asked.\n\"If there was any activity from Eggman, we would've known. And usually you and your friends don't do prevention. Usually you people come in when Eggman is already attacking.\" The Commander retorted, not trusting me at all. He thought both of us were acting suspicious.\nHe might interrogate us all he wants, he was not going to get the answers he wants.\n\"Sonic, we might not be able to do you much, but neither one of you two are leaving until you answer my questions. Why are you collecting the emeralds?\" The human asked us again, his eyes narrowing.\nMy ears twitched when I would hear footsteps stopping right outside of the door. They weren't going to harm me, but without a doubt they would try to stop us from leaving. Abraham Tower wasn't a man to mess with. If he were suspicious of you, he'd get the answers he wanted some way or another.\nI think it's about time we left.\nI looked at Rouge and found the bat still gaing back at me, her legs and arms crossed. Obviously she waited for me to make a move because she wasn't nearly fast enough to escape on her own.\n\"Sorry, pal, I think it's about time my friend and I take our leave.\" I said and grabbed Rouge's hand to pull her up from her seat.\n\"Don't you dare, hedgehog!\" Abraham ordered as he jumped up from his big chair.\nOf course I didn't listen to him as I picked Rouge up in my arms and sped out through the door after the bat picked up the Chaos Emerald from her boss' desk. Several soldiers could just barely dodge out of the way as I ran past.\n\"Tails, we're on our way out!\" I informed him as I ran through hallway after hallway and down the stairs.\n\"Yeah, I noticed.\" The kitsune said, now unable to keep track of me. In the background I could hear Knuckle grumbling something in annoyence as my attempt to keep quiet had gone in vain for the second time.\nYeah, it really wasn't my strongest point.\nWith my kind of speed it didn't take long for me to bring the two of us outside and greet the cool night air. I stopped near the fence and Rouge flew us over, the bat was surprisingly strong. Once we were over, I lifted the white bat back up in my arms, earning a surprised noise out of her.\nWith Rouge finally safe in my arms and the fourth Chaos Emerald in her grasp, I sped home to conclude another tiring day.\nWe were one step closer to Shadow.\n\nXOX\n\nDays, weeks and eventually months passed. Well, four months to be exact. I was five months far now. Just like incubating those Black Arms larvae had taken five weeks, my eggs already took five months, so I don't think it will take much longer before they arrive.\nA part of me is excited, but another part is anxious. I can't wait to see them, but at the same time I'll dread the moment they'll be born in such a hostile environment. The Black Arms already thought any species that weren't them were inferior to them. My offspring won't only be different from them, but also come from a traitor. They'll be seen as an abomination and they will know nothing else.\nI gasped at the stinging pain in my chest that felt like someone had stabbed me with a dagger and twisted it just for good measure and shook my head to try and rid my mind of such a horrible thought. That is, I wanted to shake my head, but found it impossible.\nSomehow my head kept bumping with the organic material that kept me from moving too much, the material not feeling as soft as it used to. Whenever it bumped, pain shot through my skull, like whatever I had bumped was still sensitive. I don't think it were my quills. At least, it didn't feel like my quills were the cause for the discomfort.\nMy headache was still plaguing me. It seemed the longer it dragged on, the more excrutiating it became. Often did I wake up exhausted only to pass out from the pain not much later. It was unbearable.\nBlack Doom didn't talk to me anymore. He dropped in once in a while to see if I was still alive and breathing without as much as saying a word to me, but mostly he was patiently awaiting the day my water would break.\nSame as me actually. That was all I had to look forward too, despites the dread I felt at the very thought of raising my children in an environment that refused to accept their very existence.\nThe things I'll end up giving birth too will be eggs without a doubt. If I were to compare the current size of my belly to a pregnant mobian's, I'd say I looked like I was about five or six months far physically. In other words, alot smaller than when I was incubating those eggs. That could only mean two things. Either there are less eggs or my pregnancy will drag on for a little while longer.\nEither way, I definitely wasn't carrying living children. If I was, I'd probably feel them kick by now.\nI breathed a sigh as I looked down on my swollen abdomen. I wanted to stroke it, wrap my arms around it, but I can barely move my arms at all now.\nIt makes me feel claustrophobic to spend 24/7 in this small spawning chamber and barely able to move.\nI hate it so much.\nI tried to get out, of course. A pregnant belly didn't hinder me from getting my arms and legs free. Well, trying was a better word for it. Not only could I not move any of my four limbs, but about anything I did made my headache worse. My only escape from that painful hell was sleep.\nBut even that wouldn't be granted to me when a sudden stabbing pain tore through my body, making me cry out because of sudden it was.\nThe pain came from my belly. It felt like a contraction.\n\"Oh, Chaos. Oh, Chaos! Not now. I'm not ready yet!\" Panic rose up inside when I realised that I was about to have my own batch of children.\n\nSonic's POV\n\nRouge was sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee in her hands, still recovering.\nShe was trembling. Not out of fright or the rush of adrenaline after breaking out of a military facility, but out of anger.\n\"I can't believe this! We finally have a chance at bringing Shadow back and I mess up this bad?!\" The bat scolded herself, her grip tightening around the cup. Just like two certain friends of ours, Rouge couldn't forgive herself for a mistake like this either.\n\"Don't be so hard on yourself. It happens.\" I tried to convince her, but she wasn't buying it.\nWhile the bat took an angry sip from her coffee, Amy approached me.\n\"We have all the supplies to last us a couple of months. How far are you guys with the emeralds?\" The pink hedgehog asked.\n\"We have four of them now. Just three more to go and we'll be able to take off.\" I replied, which drew a smile on her muzzle.\n\"Oh, I can't wait to see Shadow again. It's been such a long time!\" Amy said, clasping her hands in front of her.\n\"I want to see him again.\" We could hear Rouge mutter aswell. Since she spoke softly, we figured she didn't want to talk about it.\n\"I just hope he's okay.\" I said, stuffing my hands in my pockets. My thoughts took a more darker path again as I could only imagine what a cruel race like the Black Arms were doing to him right now. Horrible things might be happening to him right as we speak!\nI can only hope it wasn't as bad as I thought.\n\"That reminds me of something. What will we do when we do rescue Shadow?\" I asked, drawing everyone's attention.\n\"I almost forgot about it, but what will we do when we get him back here? A great deal of the population, including the Commander, handed him over to the Black Arms. I'm pretty sure they won't be happy to see him back.\" I stated, which made them all think.\n\"I hate to admit it, but Sonic's right. If people see Shadow's back, they'll be scared the Black Arms will return soon too.\" Knuckles had to admit and agreed with me.\nWhat will be the point of bringing Shadow back if he'll just be condemned all over agian?\n\"We can hide him in the Ark.\" Amy suggested, but Rouge didn't seem to agree.\n\"Not a chance, Pinky. Shadow hates the Ark. Too many bad memories.\" She disagreed as she put her cup down on the coffee table.\n\"I'm not saying he should stay there forever. I mean as a temporary thing.\" Amy defended her idea.\n\"I'm sorry to say it, Rouge, but I don't think we have any other choice. If Shadow's here on Mobius, we won't be able to keep him hidden for long. If we keept him on the Ark, he might not be found for a long time.\" Tails sided with our pink friend.\n\"Shadow knows the Ark like the back of his hand too. If someone does discover him, he can use that to his advantage.\" I agreed.\n\"What about food and water and all that?\" Knuckles suggested.\n\"Sonic can take it up to him through Chaos Control.\" Tails replied, which made Rouge's argument seem even more pointless.\n\"So we're agreed than? We'll keep Shadow on the Ark until we've found some sort of solution.\" I said and this time no one disagreed.\nWell, almost no one.\nRouge left the room.\nNeither one of us had much to eat so Amy and Tails kept themselves busy with our late night dinner while I followed the bat out the back. I found her standing there leaning on the railing of the porch with her arms still crossed.\nShe looked pissed.\n\"Rouge...\"\n\"I think this is still a terrible idea. Shadow hates the Ark. There are too many bad memories! Did you know that Shadow opted to stay on the Ark in the beginning because the memories of the place would fuel his hatred even more and make it easier to destroy Mobius? That is how much he hates that place!\" Rouge stated, throwing her arms in the air in exasperation.\n\"The Black Arm are an incredibly cruel race. They destroy every planet in their wake just to eat! Black Doom only wanted Shadow back to punish him. We all know he'll need to do alot of recovering. When he does, than what's the point of putting him in a bad place? The Ark will only slow his recovery down.\" The bat added, making her disdain for the idea clear.\nI understand where she's coming from but we have no other choice.\n\"So where do you want to hide him? At your house where he'll be discovered within the week with G.U.N now breathing down our necks? My place with G.U.N soon to keep an eye on mine too? Angel Island, the place that Eggman regularly visits to try and steal the Master Emerald?\" I asked, trying to show her our perspective.\n\"Rouge, we want a safe environment for him to come back to, right? One we will be able to use for a very long time if we can't come up with a solution soon enough. We can't keep moving him from place to place either. That wouldn't do him much good either. Up in the Ark, he at least won't have to move from home to home.\" I said, but it seemed to help little.\n\"Who know, by the time we get back with him, we might have a solution to our problem already and Shadow won't have to hide at all.\" And that did seem to help.\n\"We better have a solution by then. If anyting, I'll be staying up on the Ark with him. It's not like I have a job to go back to.\" The white bat stated, still a bit displeased, about to return inside as it was getting a little chilly out here.\n\"Oh yeah, about that. What're you going to do now?\" I asked. Without Rouge must've lost her job now after she's infiltrated the place to retrieve that Chaos Emerald.\n\"Who knows, hun. I'll sure I'll find something to do for a living once we return.\" Rouge replied before leaving me alone out on the porch.\nI found my gaze unconsciously settling on the dark star-filled night sky as if were to see something if I stare long enough. Silently I wondered just how far away up there Shadow was and if he was staring back, wondering the same thing.\n\nXOX\n\nI wasn't ready. I wasn't ready. I wasn't ready!\nThe incubated eggs I could still push out of my system, but not my own. They would be my first cluster. I had carried them for five months instead of weeks. I can't let go of them yet, I can't allow them to be born in such a cruel place! If something were to happen to them, I can't defend them.\nBut as much as I prayed for these contractions to be braxton hicks contractions, my water broke. Now a dark pinkish colour, the liquid escaped my uterus and moistened my birth canal. The latter already so abused despites never having invited a man inside even once.\nThe fur of my inner thighs and butt grew wet along with the organic prison as amniotic fluid pooled beneath.\nI had already given birth eight times before, one hundred and twenty eggs. I counted. Of course, it didn't take long for the urge to push arose, filling me with more horror than relief.\nMentally and physically exhausted, weak, in pain, hormonal and overcome with an overwhelming sense of dread, I began to cry.\n\"No, no, no, no, no. Please, don't let them leave. They're not safe out there! I can't protect them! So please, don't make me push them out!\" I begged my own body as the tears rolled down my cheeks. My body, as cruel as the people who put me in this terrible place, did not relent and kept urging me to push, leaving me little chance to refuse.\nMy teeth clenched on eachother as the extra sensitivity added to my womb made these contractions even more unbearable.\nQuickly at the end of my strength, I decided to comply and pushed.\nAt what I perceived to be an alarming rate, the first egg left me fairly quickly because of how used my birth canal was to pushing oval shaped objects out. Exactly eight pushed were needed to rid my body of my first offspring.\nInstead of being reliefed, I simply felt more pain and fear.\nI didn't want to bring them into this world, I didn't want them to hatch, I didn't want them to grow up, I didn't want their lives to be thrown away like cannon fodder.\nSecond one came as quickly. With birthing now second nature to my gender they came to the world smoothly, their shape helping a great deal with that.\nHalf an hour or an hour later, I was already done.\nUnlike the clusters of fifteen eggs I had carried, my body had created a measly four.\nThe aftermath had left me exhausted, numbed and sore, but most of all, I felt sorrow. In the end, with all this power I've been created with, I will never be able to protect my own children.\nWith my belly now nearly flat, my accelerated healing quickly learning to help me recover even faster than before soon to set in, I took this chance to look at what I had been carrying.\nBlack Arms eggs were a mix of black and dark purple. Mine were black at the bottom before gradually turning into crimson red at the top. Their texture was kind of rough and the shell was only semi-hard.\nThe sight of those four eggs now resting between my two spread legs consoled me a little.\nFor a moment, everything was right again.\nI closed my eyes and let my head fall back, earning me a stab of pain behind my ears. I let myself rest a little, planning on recovering as much in little time possible. Once again did I want to try and break free from my bonds. The sight of my offspring had once more encouraged me to keep fighting.\nBut that was quickly whisked away.\nThe entrance of this spawning chamber opened to reveal Black Doom himself as he entered.\nWithout a doubt he knew of what had transpired and came to take a look.\nHis cold, emotionless gaze scrutinized and judged me as he caught sight of the eggs. It was like he was mocking me for four eggs to be my limit. Like he had expected me to let him down, but just not this much.\nA part of me wanted to look away, unable to stand his gaze. But for the most part I glared daggers at him as he bend down, one hand reached for the first egg I had laid.\n\"No, don't touch it! Put it back down, Black Doom! I don't want your filthy paws to touch any of my children!\" I growled at him in anger.\nHow dare he! He doesn't have the right to touch an inch on their shell. He doesn't have the right to even look at them!\nThe alien overlord held the egg up high, as if investigating it.\nAnd then he crushed it in his hand.\nWith my eyes wide and my mouth agape I stared as pieces of shell fell down to the ground and reddish egg white dripped down from his big hand.\nHe barely even put any effort into it, the shell had caved in and crushed what was inside just like that.\nMy mind unable to wrap around what I had just witnessed, I stared at his hand at the pulverised egg before it fell to the ground and Black Doom stared at his hand in disgust, like he had just touched something dirty.\nWhen realisation sunk in and a fire of emotions ignited within, I screamed.\n\"Don't be so dramatic, you insolent failure. That egg contained no life. It wasn't fertilised, it was dead. I did you a favour by removing future dissapointment.\" The alien voice scolded me, my wailing giving him a headache. My behaviour irritated him.\nThough a part of him couldn't help but be amused with my crying and thrashing.\n\"No! Put it down! Please, I beg of you, don't take that one away from me too!\" I pleaded once I was able to form coherent words. I could just make out the form of my second egg in Black Doom's hand through my blurry vision.\nMy pleads went ignored as the hivemind intently looked that one over aswell before destroying it in a single contraction of his muscles.\nI cried out in terror again.\nThe third egg suffered the same faith and soon laid in a pulverised heap on the ground, out of my reach.\nFive months of my life spend growing and nurturing those three, awaiting the day they'd finally come with mixed feelings.\nThey didn't even get to hatch, those five months and all that effort whisked away in a manner of minutes.\nBy the time Black Doom picked the fourth and last egg up, I was yelling incoherent words and pleas and I cried, begging him to please, for Chaos' sake, let that one live.\nBlack Doom placed the egg back down on the ground and some relief filled my shattered heart.\n\"You irritate me with your constant wailing, child! If you weren't such a failure, you would've noticed three of those eggs were lifeless and would never hatch.\" He scolded me again, like seeing the three of them get crushed right in front of me wasn't punishment enough.\n\"Not only are you a traitor, but you are also a failure. I gave you one task to complete and you failed to do even that right. I should've never have agreed to help your creator.\" Black Doom complaind and right now I couldn't agree more.\nIf I had never been created, I would've never had to go through something this excrutiating, something this unimaginable.\nUnable to take the headache I was giving him any longer, Black Doom left. And I was once again alone, crying, wailing and broken.\n\nSonic's POV\n\nWith Amy's guidance, our late night dinner was soon hot and prepared.\nRouge, Tails, Amy, Knuckles and I sat around the table as we ate, telling eachother of our day. Of course I told them all about my run-in with Eggman and how I smashed those bots until nothing was left, earning a dissapointed 'But I wanted you to be subtle' reply from Tails. Knuckles Scolded me for my usual rash decisions and how it could've endangered our mission and Amy and Rouge just listened, the latter surprisingly enough having nothing to say.\nEither way, dinner came to an end and, after taking care of the dishes, we went back to work.\n\"Anything yet, Tails?\" Knuckles asked as he watched over the kitsune's shoulder to look at the computer screen.\n\"No, not yet. It was easy to guess where two of the Chaos Emeralds would be, but we'll have to try and track the last three down. If they're not too far away we'll know.\" Tails replied, taking his eyes off the screen for a moment to gaze back at the echidna.\n\"Will it take long?\" The echidna asked, itching to get into action. He felt like it was about time he did something to help.\n\"We should give it some time.\" The kitsune replied and turned to face his monitor again. knuckles leant against a nearby workbench and waited like Tails told him too, still wishing he could get into action already.\nAs if answering to his prayers, the computer began to beep, a mark appearing on the map shown on the monitor.\n\"Great! Where is it?\" I asked, immediatly speeding over to the two mobians, though the workshop wasn't that big.\nI gulped.\n\"Aquatic Mines? Shouldn't be too difficult.\" Knuckles stated, hands resting on his hips.\n\"No too difficult... Right...\" The Aquatic Mines were filled with water and danger under water and water! Did I mention there was alot of water?!\n\"I didn't say you have to come alone. I can do this myself.\" The echidna said, confident that he didn't need any help. The mines were a place he's been tobefore when hunting after the pieces of the shattered Master Emerald. He figured that if it workd once, he could do it again. No biggie.\nI didn't feel comfortable with staying here and doing nothing, though.\n\"And while Knuxiepoo sets off to the Aquatic Mines, handsome blue and I can go to the jewel museum in downtown Station Square. Apparently they found a Chaos Emerald to put on display.\" Rouge informed us as she came walking into the workshop, holding up a piece of paper with an article, freshly printed.\n\"Today?\" I asked as I took the paper to read it.\n\"That sounds awfully convenient.\" The echidna stated, arms crossing in front of his chest.\n\"What do you mean?\" Amy asked as she stood in the doorway after following Rouge here.\n\"First Rouge is caught by G.U.N and now there's suddenly an emerald found and put on display.\" Knuckles replied.\n\"You think G.U.N set a trap? So soon?\" The pink hedgehog asked.\n\"G.U.N can be quick and efficient if they really want to and Commander Tower really likes Chaos Emeralds.\" Tails answered in turn.\n\"It wouldn't be the first time they've caught me like that.\" Rouge backed up, though in a playful manner. Even after all this time jewels were still a weakness of hers and the thrill of thieving still fresh in her mind.\n\"Its your choice, Sonic. The museum or the mines.\" Tails said, turning his desk chair until he faced me.\nHe, what a choice. Possible G.U.N trap or water.",

Because for one, I didn&#039;t care for time by now. And second, the time spend here was hardly my concern for I had bigger issues to think of.<br />And one of those was currently residing in my abdomen.<br />Just like Black Doom had predicted, my own body had begun to reproduce asexually. Once the stubborn discomfort in my belly had gradually ceased, I knew it was only a matter of time before I began to grow on my own for once.<br />And I just knew I was right.<br />I couldn&#039;t see anything different with my belly. Because of my body&#039;s ability to recover fast and easy, I had retained my flat belly and what muscle I had. That was atleast some comfort and something I mentally thanked my dead creator for. If I were to ever get out of these restraints, I know that I will still be able to walk, even if that would be unimaginable for any normal mobian or human.<br />Although, I was far from normal now.<br />My belly may have been flat, I know it wouldn&#039;t take long before that changed again. My womb felt so full and heavy with something, as it had become abnormally sensitive during my body&#039;s change. I figured that I had developed that ability in order to make sure that everything was alright with my offspring in there.<br />The feeling in my womb was incredibly annoying at first, but as the meaning behind it sunk it, I just couldn&#039;t hate it.<br />All that really bothered me was the relentless pain inside my skull, the pain that felt like someone or something had bashed my brains in with a metal pipe and I had somehow managed to stay concious.<br />That&#039;s what I imagined it felt like. Of course, I had no experience with having my head beaten by a pipe, but I did get shot once during a mission for G.U.N. I don&#039;t remember what it felt like as it had suddenly turned black before waking up in the hospital. Like pulling the plug on a computer. An instant black screen. No sound, no feeling, no visual.<br />When I had awoken in the hospital, I found Rouge sobbing by my bed side as she told me how happy she was to see me wake up. She genuinely thought I had died. She told me she had seen me get shot right in front of her. Blood splattering everywhere aswell as bits of brain and pieces of skull because of how heavy and explosive the bullets were. Apparently my face, or what remained of it, was contorted in utter horror.<br />Later on it all grew back and I woke up when my brain could fuction normally again, but in that moment I was incredibly glad I had &#039;died&#039; before I could feel anything.<br />What better way to proof one&#039;s immortality, right?<br />I remember Rouge still being traumatised by it. She didn&#039;t like anyone bringing it up. When someone did, she either immediatly changed the subject or she would get a distant look in her eyes along with fear or shock. So I never brought it up for her sanity.<br />A deep, tired sigh left my lungs. This headache was immensely exhausting. I wonder why it hadn&#039;t passed yet just like the discomfort in my lower belly. Because of the odd feeling in there, I had assumed my body was done changing. But apparently I was wrong. Or that was the only explanation I could come up with.<br />But what needed changing in my head?<br />I wish this infernal headache would stop already. Maybe then I could try and think of some kind of answer. But the only answer I got was an even bigger headache.<br />Maybe if I sleep a little, I&#039;ll be able to rest my mind and atleast lessen the pain a little.<br />But when I woke up, it was obvious the pain was all but faded.</em><br /><br /><strong><span class='underline'>Sonic&#039;s POV</span></strong><br /><br />I never got tired of smashing bots. Especially if those bots happen to be Eggman&#039;s. The man himself had finally noticed I had infeltrated his secret base and send every robot he had after me. And with the Chaos Emerald in hand, I began to destroy them all. Being quiet and sneaky was now a thing of the past.<br />I sped past the several doors and corridors and spindashed through each robot I met on the way out. Before I knew it, and much to my dissapointment, I was already back in the hangar where I entered Eggman&#039;s dome in the first place.<br />There were two of those big robots, similar to the one in the room where the Chaos Emerald was held, send here to intercept me.<br />I smirked as, despites Eggman&#039;s attempts to keep me here in the base to get the emerald back from me, he was going to indirectly help me in my escape.<br />&quot;Get back here, you wretched rodent!&quot; I could hear Eggman&#039;s furious voice shout from way down the hallway, he was actually surprisingly fast for a man with his build.<br />&quot;No way, Egghead! I&#039;m getting out of here!&quot; I yelled back at him, looking back over my shoulder for a split second before turning back to the duo of robots. I decided to use their height to my advantage and jumped towards the platform as high as I could, spindashing through it.<br />The feeling and smell of fresh air hit me before I landed with my two feet on top of the metal dome. I took a moment to inhale the fresh air after such a long time of being stuck in that stuffy base before looking down in the hole where the platform used to be.<br />&quot;See ya later, Egghead!&quot; I yelled at top of my lungs before speeding away, leaving Eggman to curse my very existence.<br /><br />It didn&#039;t take me long to get home, bursting in through the front door and loudly exclaiming how I had beaten Eggman&#039;s sorry ass and retrieved the Chaos Emerald succesfully.<br />But as I walked into Tails&#039; workplace, my conquest was quickly forgotten.<br />&quot;Knuckles? What&#039;re you doing here?&quot; I asked as I saw the red echidna standing next to Tails, who was sitting behind his computer. I had a feeling about why Knuckles was here, but I didn&#039;t want to say it out loud in case it wasn&#039;t true.<br />Knuckles sighed before answering. He didn&#039;t like going back on his word.<br />&quot;I changed my mind. I&#039;ve realised that helping a friend of ours is just as important as my duty to the Master Emerald. Especially if that friend happens to be a Chaos Master.&quot; He stated, crossing his arms in front of him. Going back on his word had never been comfortable to him. So he used Shadow&#039;s Chaos Control as an excuse to change his mind.<br />Knuckles was a tough guy, but he really did care. I was still stumped.<br />&quot;Are you serious? Who&#039;s looking out for the Master Emerald while you&#039;re gone? I thought the sole reason you didn&#039;t want to go was because you had to watch that thing.&quot; I asked, wanting to know if he had actually thought this through or just changed his mind on a whim because he felt guilty for turning down the chance to help a friend who might very well be tortured or used in some kind of disgusting way as we speak.<br />&quot;The Chaotix have promised to look out for the Master Emerald. I trust their ability to keep her safe.&quot; He responded. He did think this thing through. This is great! Now we have an extra pair of hands to help us find the remaining Chaos Emeralds!<br />Speaking of Chaos Emeralds.<br />&quot;Here it is, Tails! Three down and four more to go!&quot; I stated proudly and handed my little bro the glowing emerald.<br />&quot;Great! At this rate we&#039;ll find all the Chaos Emeralds and leave for space in no time!&quot; Tails was just as excited as I was as he took the emerald and hid it safely in the safe with the other two emeralds we collected.<br />&quot;By the way, where&#039;s Rouge?&quot; I asked. I&#039;ve been gone for hours because I followed Tails&#039; advice to take this slow and not get into trouble. She should&#039;ve been back by now.<br />&quot;Yeah, about that. She hasn&#039;t returned yet and she hasn&#039;t been in touch with me either. I think that she might&#039;ve gotten in trouble.&quot; Tails explained, now visibly nervous.<br />Rouge knew G.U.N like the back of her hand and she was a master at stealing precious gems and jewelry. Tails was right in being nervous. It was very suspicious that she hadn&#039;t returned yet. She must&#039;ve gotten into trouble.<br />&quot;Don&#039;t worry, lil&#039; bro! I&#039;ll get Knuckles&#039; girlfriend here safe and sound in no time!&quot; I reassured him and speeded out of the house into the direction of the G.U.N Headquarters before the guardian had a chance of retorting anything back.<br />Now I have to focus on saving Rouge and retrieving the fourth Chaos Emerald.<br /><br /><div class='align_center'><strong><span class='underline'>XOX</span></strong></div><br /><br /><em>Tears filled my eyes when I woke up with this terrible pain in my head for the so maniest day in a row. I was so sick of this! Why didn&#039;t it leave?! What caused it?! And why wasn&#039;t Black Doom providing me any sort of information?! He must know what&#039;s going on since he was the one who put me in this predicament, but he&#039;s just keeping me in the dark about the whole thing!<br />In fact, I&#039;ve been hearing less and less of him. I guess he was getting bored of hearing me suffer and decided to let me do it on my own instead?<br />&quot;Damn...&quot; I growled. Atleast the light was pretty dim in here, that way there was no light to worsen my headache.<br />&quot;Don&#039;t worry, I&#039;m not always so angry, despite what many people think.&quot; I spoke out loud. This constant isolation and Black Doom&#039;s less frequent want to communicate with me had forced me to develope a rather bad habit. Recently I had begun to talk to myself.<br />Well, not really only to myself.<br />I was also talking to whatever I must be carrying now.<br />It&#039;s been a month since the discomfort in my belly had ceased. I had already assumed that I might be pregnant and, of course, I was right. In these past four weeks my belly had grown again. By normal mobian standards, I looked like I was about three to four months far now. I was glad they were growing on a slower pace. Sure, not as slow as normal Mobian infants, but I prefered it greatly over getting stuffed to the brim with eggs in one go and having my belly stretched to the limit with way too many eggs.<br />I tried to concentrate on the beings growing inside in an attempt to ignore the pain, no matter how unbearable it was.<br />Some more time passed and I decided to try something I never though I&#039;d ever want to do. I tried calling for Back Doom. There were still alot of questions that needed answering and I wasn&#039;t getting the answers I needed from talking to my unborn alien children.<br />&#039;Come on, Doom, why are you ignoring me?&#039; I mentally asked the alien overlord, trying to use that mental mind connection thing he seemed to have with all of his spawns. I tried and tried, but I didn&#039;t get any sort of response.<br />I could sense his presence, but it was like he was just out of my reach. It was a very frustrating feeling. And not only was it frustrating as hell, but failing to get into contact with Black Doom also worsened my headache.<br />Guess I have to try again later.</em><br /><br /><strong><span class='underline'>Sonic&#039;s POV</span></strong><br /><br />Rouge was in big trouble, I just knew it, I could feel it in my bones. She wasn&#039;t responding to any of our messages and she had yet to return. She knew the G.U.N base like the back of her hand, she should&#039;ve been back by now. That bat must be in trouble, there was no other explanation.<br />I had to find her and bring her back safely. Preferably I&#039;d also like to try and grab their Chaos Emerald. That way we would be another step closer to Shadow.<br />With my speed it didn&#039;t take long before I stood outside of the fence that surrounded the perimeter.<br />For this trip I wore an earpiece. That way Tails and I could stay in contact while I infiltrated this place. I didn&#039;t know G.U.N like Team Dark does, so I will have to rely on Tails while he hacked into the military computer to provide me with outside help and, hopefully, Rouge&#039;s location.<br />It took a while before I got the okay from Tails, but when I did and I watched as cameras were suddenly and mysteriously being shut down, I sprinted forward towards the metal fence, climbing over it with ease.<br />I spotted the closest door and ran towards it, carefully pushing the handle down and sneaking in after opening the door as quietly as possible.<br />Now this mission I gladly did quietly. It was a real drag, but here I found it to be more necessary than in Eggman&#039;s base. In there I had to be quiet and slow in order to keep Eggman off our tail while we tried to rescue Shadow. In here I have to be quiet and slow in order to stay hidden and keep G.U.N our friend.<br />You do not want to mess with G.U.N. We&#039;ve all learned that lesson after we heard of what they had done to the Ark, Shadow&#039;s place of birth.<br />&quot;Anything yet, Tails?&quot; I whispered.<br />&quot;I have your location on the map of the level you&#039;re currently in. I&#039;m trying to disable all security cameras around you. You can use your speed if you want, but be carefuly when turning a corner. Also, I&#039;m downloading the blueprints of every floor and building in the G.U.N HQ. Hopefully I&#039;ll be able to use them and the cameras to find Rouge and the Chaos Emerald.&quot; I could hear Tails whisper from the other side of the line, as if speaking one tone harder would alert everyone of my current location.<br />&quot;Okay, tell me if you find anything.&quot; I requested before running to the end of the hallway and glancing around the corner.<br />I had left close to the evening so there was already barely anyone around. There was the occasional soldier patroling, scientists working overtime and janitors cleaning the place. With Tails shutting the cameras off, it should be a breeze trying to past them.<br />Most of the hallways were empty and all I had to do was waity for my lil&#039; bro to shut the cameras off before speeding to the end of the hallway and checking the next one for any people and waited for the cameras in that one to die temporarily too.<br />&quot;Sonic, you should try and go down to the underground levels. The lower levels are mainly prisons, storages and laboratories. You can take a nearby elevator. According to Knuckles those hallways are empty now, so you should be able to reach those floors with little problem.&quot; I could hear Tails say, still speaking as softly as before. Knuckles must be in charge of checking the security tapes.<br />&quot;Prisons and laboratories? Okay.&quot; I responded and advanced into the directions I was given.<br />The underground laboratories? Isn&#039;t that where they kept people like Shadow? I&#039;ve heard him once say that he brought some of the most horrible years of life down in that place before being sedated completely and transfered over to Prison Island to be kept there in suspended animation.<br />He would&#039;ve stayed there if Eggman hadn&#039;t woken him up. Nobody would&#039;ve known he existed, not even us.<br />I had almost run right past the elevator because I was lost in thought for a moment, but I quickly came to a halt and pressed the button to call up the lift.<br />I rode the lift down to the first prison floor. Just like Tails had said the corridors here were empty. There were a couple of holding cells which looked like they were still in use, but most of them were a little on the dusty side. It looks like not all of the underground is in use.<br />After looking into every prison cell I came across on this floor, I had to come to the conclusion that Rouge or the Chaos Emerald weren&#039;t here. So I took the elevator to the second prison floor, to which I came to the same conclusion. The third floor was the same.<br />I dreaded searching the underground laboratories, but I had to go there next.<br />Reluctantly I traveled back to the elevator and rode it to the next level.<br />It was only when I arrived at the first laboratory floor that I received another message from Tails.<br />&quot;Sonic, Rouge isn&#039;t in te underground like any infiltrator would be. Knuckles found her sitting in the Commander&#039;s office with the Chaos Emerald with her. The Commander&#039;s office is at the very top of the building.&quot; The kitsune informed me.<br />I felt relief upon hearing that new info. After hearing all those stories from Shadow, I really wasn&#039;t looking forward to searching this place.<br />Since I now knew where Rouge was now, there was no need to search every floor. So I opted to take the stairs this time, sprinting to the very top. And I was barely out of breath! Other people would&#039;ve found this a nightmare.<br />I arrived at the upper most level and sneaked a peek inside to discover that Tails had already taken care off the cameras here. So far there wasn&#039;t anyone around either.<br />So I came out into the corridor and made my way towards the Commander&#039;s office, knowing from memory where it was.<br />I just walked inside and found Rouge sitting there, looking back at me. The Chaos Emerald was sitting in front of her on the desk and the Commander, Abraham Tower, was sitting behind it. It seemed like he expected me.<br />I was surprised at first, but the Commander didn&#039;t wait for me to speak before talking himself.<br />&quot;Tell me, Sonic, why does my best spy decide to break into her own workplace to steal a Chaos Emerald and keep quiet when I ask her the real reason only to see you bursting in through the door without even alerting me of your presence?&quot; The Commander asked, his elbows leaning on his desk. He wore a serious look on his face. He really did not appreciate this.<br />&quot;Isn&#039;t it obvious? We&#039;re here for the Chaos Emeralds.&quot; I replied, staying as vague as Rouge had apparently been, which didn&#039;t sit well with the Commander.<br />You might think why we would be so secretive towards Abraham, who used to be Shadow&#039;s boss. But this guy was one of the people who sided with the peope who wanted to deliver Shadow over to the aliens.<br />I didn&#039;t want to risk having this guy in our way of traveling to space to find the Black Comet.<br />&quot;Evidently, but why do you need the Chaos Emerald. Are you collecting them all?&quot; Abraham asked.<br />&quot;Because we don&#039;t want Eggy to get them. Why else?&quot; I asked.<br />&quot;If there was any activity from Eggman, we would&#039;ve known. And usually you and your friends don&#039;t do prevention. Usually you people come in when Eggman is already attacking.&quot; The Commander retorted, not trusting me at all. He thought both of us were acting suspicious.<br />He might interrogate us all he wants, he was not going to get the answers he wants.<br />&quot;Sonic, we might not be able to do you much, but neither one of you two are leaving until you answer my questions. Why are you collecting the emeralds?&quot; The human asked us again, his eyes narrowing.<br />My ears twitched when I would hear footsteps stopping right outside of the door. They weren&#039;t going to harm me, but without a doubt they would try to stop us from leaving. Abraham Tower wasn&#039;t a man to mess with. If he were suspicious of you, he&#039;d get the answers he wanted some way or another.<br />I think it&#039;s about time we left.<br />I looked at Rouge and found the bat still gaing back at me, her legs and arms crossed. Obviously she waited for me to make a move because she wasn&#039;t nearly fast enough to escape on her own.<br />&quot;Sorry, pal, I think it&#039;s about time my friend and I take our leave.&quot; I said and grabbed Rouge&#039;s hand to pull her up from her seat.<br />&quot;Don&#039;t you dare, hedgehog!&quot; Abraham ordered as he jumped up from his big chair.<br />Of course I didn&#039;t listen to him as I picked Rouge up in my arms and sped out through the door after the bat picked up the Chaos Emerald from her boss&#039; desk. Several soldiers could just barely dodge out of the way as I ran past.<br />&quot;Tails, we&#039;re on our way out!&quot; I informed him as I ran through hallway after hallway and down the stairs.<br />&quot;Yeah, I noticed.&quot; The kitsune said, now unable to keep track of me. In the background I could hear Knuckle grumbling something in annoyence as my attempt to keep quiet had gone in vain for the second time.<br />Yeah, it really wasn&#039;t my strongest point.<br />With my kind of speed it didn&#039;t take long for me to bring the two of us outside and greet the cool night air. I stopped near the fence and Rouge flew us over, the bat was surprisingly strong. Once we were over, I lifted the white bat back up in my arms, earning a surprised noise out of her.<br />With Rouge finally safe in my arms and the fourth Chaos Emerald in her grasp, I sped home to conclude another tiring day.<br />We were one step closer to Shadow.<br /><br /><div class='align_center'><strong><span class='underline'>XOX</span></strong></div><br /><br /><em>Days, weeks and eventually months passed. Well, four months to be exact. I was five months far now. Just like incubating those Black Arms larvae had taken five weeks, my eggs already took five months, so I don&#039;t think it will take much longer before they arrive.<br />A part of me is excited, but another part is anxious. I can&#039;t wait to see them, but at the same time I&#039;ll dread the moment they&#039;ll be born in such a hostile environment. The Black Arms already thought any species that weren&#039;t them were inferior to them. My offspring won&#039;t only be different from them, but also come from a traitor. They&#039;ll be seen as an abomination and they will know nothing else.<br />I gasped at the stinging pain in my chest that felt like someone had stabbed me with a dagger and twisted it just for good measure and shook my head to try and rid my mind of such a horrible thought. That is, I wanted to shake my head, but found it impossible.<br />Somehow my head kept bumping with the organic material that kept me from moving too much, the material not feeling as soft as it used to. Whenever it bumped, pain shot through my skull, like whatever I had bumped was still sensitive. I don&#039;t think it were my quills. At least, it didn&#039;t feel like my quills were the cause for the discomfort.<br />My headache was still plaguing me. It seemed the longer it dragged on, the more excrutiating it became. Often did I wake up exhausted only to pass out from the pain not much later. It was unbearable.<br />Black Doom didn&#039;t talk to me anymore. He dropped in once in a while to see if I was still alive and breathing without as much as saying a word to me, but mostly he was patiently awaiting the day my water would break.<br />Same as me actually. That was all I had to look forward too, despites the dread I felt at the very thought of raising my children in an environment that refused to accept their very existence.<br />The things I&#039;ll end up giving birth too will be eggs without a doubt. If I were to compare the current size of my belly to a pregnant mobian&#039;s, I&#039;d say I looked like I was about five or six months far physically. In other words, alot smaller than when I was incubating those eggs. That could only mean two things. Either there are less eggs or my pregnancy will drag on for a little while longer.<br />Either way, I definitely wasn&#039;t carrying living children. If I was, I&#039;d probably feel them kick by now.<br />I breathed a sigh as I looked down on my swollen abdomen. I wanted to stroke it, wrap my arms around it, but I can barely move my arms at all now.<br />It makes me feel claustrophobic to spend 24/7 in this small spawning chamber and barely able to move.<br />I hate it so much.<br />I tried to get out, of course. A pregnant belly didn&#039;t hinder me from getting my arms and legs free. Well, trying was a better word for it. Not only could I not move any of my four limbs, but about anything I did made my headache worse. My only escape from that painful hell was sleep.<br />But even that wouldn&#039;t be granted to me when a sudden stabbing pain tore through my body, making me cry out because of sudden it was.<br />The pain came from my belly. It felt like a contraction.<br />&quot;Oh, Chaos. Oh, Chaos! Not now. I&#039;m not ready yet!&quot; Panic rose up inside when I realised that I was about to have my own batch of children.</em><br /><br /><strong><span class='underline'>Sonic&#039;s POV</span></strong><br /><br />Rouge was sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee in her hands, still recovering.<br />She was trembling. Not out of fright or the rush of adrenaline after breaking out of a military facility, but out of anger.<br />&quot;I can&#039;t believe this! We finally have a chance at bringing Shadow back and I mess up this bad?!&quot; The bat scolded herself, her grip tightening around the cup. Just like two certain friends of ours, Rouge couldn&#039;t forgive herself for a mistake like this either.<br />&quot;Don&#039;t be so hard on yourself. It happens.&quot; I tried to convince her, but she wasn&#039;t buying it.<br />While the bat took an angry sip from her coffee, Amy approached me.<br />&quot;We have all the supplies to last us a couple of months. How far are you guys with the emeralds?&quot; The pink hedgehog asked.<br />&quot;We have four of them now. Just three more to go and we&#039;ll be able to take off.&quot; I replied, which drew a smile on her muzzle.<br />&quot;Oh, I can&#039;t wait to see Shadow again. It&#039;s been such a long time!&quot; Amy said, clasping her hands in front of her.<br />&quot;I want to see him again.&quot; We could hear Rouge mutter aswell. Since she spoke softly, we figured she didn&#039;t want to talk about it.<br />&quot;I just hope he&#039;s okay.&quot; I said, stuffing my hands in my pockets. My thoughts took a more darker path again as I could only imagine what a cruel race like the Black Arms were doing to him right now. Horrible things might be happening to him right as we speak!<br />I can only hope it wasn&#039;t as bad as I thought.<br />&quot;That reminds me of something. What will we do when we do rescue Shadow?&quot; I asked, drawing everyone&#039;s attention.<br />&quot;I almost forgot about it, but what will we do when we get him back here? A great deal of the population, including the Commander, handed him over to the Black Arms. I&#039;m pretty sure they won&#039;t be happy to see him back.&quot; I stated, which made them all think.<br />&quot;I hate to admit it, but Sonic&#039;s right. If people see Shadow&#039;s back, they&#039;ll be scared the Black Arms will return soon too.&quot; Knuckles had to admit and agreed with me.<br />What will be the point of bringing Shadow back if he&#039;ll just be condemned all over agian?<br />&quot;We can hide him in the Ark.&quot; Amy suggested, but Rouge didn&#039;t seem to agree.<br />&quot;Not a chance, Pinky. Shadow hates the Ark. Too many bad memories.&quot; She disagreed as she put her cup down on the coffee table.<br />&quot;I&#039;m not saying he should stay there forever. I mean as a temporary thing.&quot; Amy defended her idea.<br />&quot;I&#039;m sorry to say it, Rouge, but I don&#039;t think we have any other choice. If Shadow&#039;s here on Mobius, we won&#039;t be able to keep him hidden for long. If we keept him on the Ark, he might not be found for a long time.&quot; Tails sided with our pink friend.<br />&quot;Shadow knows the Ark like the back of his hand too. If someone does discover him, he can use that to his advantage.&quot; I agreed.<br />&quot;What about food and water and all that?&quot; Knuckles suggested.<br />&quot;Sonic can take it up to him through Chaos Control.&quot; Tails replied, which made Rouge&#039;s argument seem even more pointless.<br />&quot;So we&#039;re agreed than? We&#039;ll keep Shadow on the Ark until we&#039;ve found some sort of solution.&quot; I said and this time no one disagreed.<br />Well, almost no one.<br />Rouge left the room.<br />Neither one of us had much to eat so Amy and Tails kept themselves busy with our late night dinner while I followed the bat out the back. I found her standing there leaning on the railing of the porch with her arms still crossed.<br />She looked pissed.<br />&quot;Rouge...&quot;<br />&quot;I think this is still a terrible idea. Shadow hates the Ark. There are too many bad memories! Did you know that Shadow opted to stay on the Ark in the beginning because the memories of the place would fuel his hatred even more and make it easier to destroy Mobius? That is how much he hates that place!&quot; Rouge stated, throwing her arms in the air in exasperation.<br />&quot;The Black Arm are an incredibly cruel race. They destroy every planet in their wake just to eat! Black Doom only wanted Shadow back to punish him. We all know he&#039;ll need to do alot of recovering. When he does, than what&#039;s the point of putting him in a bad place? The Ark will only slow his recovery down.&quot; The bat added, making her disdain for the idea clear.<br />I understand where she&#039;s coming from but we have no other choice.<br />&quot;So where do you want to hide him? At your house where he&#039;ll be discovered within the week with G.U.N now breathing down our necks? My place with G.U.N soon to keep an eye on mine too? Angel Island, the place that Eggman regularly visits to try and steal the Master Emerald?&quot; I asked, trying to show her our perspective.<br />&quot;Rouge, we want a safe environment for him to come back to, right? One we will be able to use for a very long time if we can&#039;t come up with a solution soon enough. We can&#039;t keep moving him from place to place either. That wouldn&#039;t do him much good either. Up in the Ark, he at least won&#039;t have to move from home to home.&quot; I said, but it seemed to help little.<br />&quot;Who know, by the time we get back with him, we might have a solution to our problem already and Shadow won&#039;t have to hide at all.&quot; And that did seem to help.<br />&quot;We better have a solution by then. If anyting, I&#039;ll be staying up on the Ark with him. It&#039;s not like I have a job to go back to.&quot; The white bat stated, still a bit displeased, about to return inside as it was getting a little chilly out here.<br />&quot;Oh yeah, about that. What&#039;re you going to do now?&quot; I asked. Without Rouge must&#039;ve lost her job now after she&#039;s infiltrated the place to retrieve that Chaos Emerald.<br />&quot;Who knows, hun. I&#039;ll sure I&#039;ll find something to do for a living once we return.&quot; Rouge replied before leaving me alone out on the porch.<br />I found my gaze unconsciously settling on the dark star-filled night sky as if were to see something if I stare long enough. Silently I wondered just how far away up there Shadow was and if he was staring back, wondering the same thing.<br /><br /><div class='align_center'><strong><span class='underline'>XOX</span></strong></div><br /><br /><em>I wasn&#039;t ready. I wasn&#039;t ready. I wasn&#039;t ready!<br />The incubated eggs I could still push out of my system, but not my own. They would be my first cluster. I had carried them for five months instead of weeks. I can&#039;t let go of them yet, I can&#039;t allow them to be born in such a cruel place! If something were to happen to them, I can&#039;t defend them.<br />But as much as I prayed for these contractions to be braxton hicks contractions, my water broke. Now a dark pinkish colour, the liquid escaped my uterus and moistened my birth canal. The latter already so abused despites never having invited a man inside even once.<br />The fur of my inner thighs and butt grew wet along with the organic prison as amniotic fluid pooled beneath.<br />I had already given birth eight times before, one hundred and twenty eggs. I counted. Of course, it didn&#039;t take long for the urge to push arose, filling me with more horror than relief.<br />Mentally and physically exhausted, weak, in pain, hormonal and overcome with an overwhelming sense of dread, I began to cry.<br />&quot;No, no, no, no, no. Please, don&#039;t let them leave. They&#039;re not safe out there! I can&#039;t protect them! So please, don&#039;t make me push them out!&quot; I begged my own body as the tears rolled down my cheeks. My body, as cruel as the people who put me in this terrible place, did not relent and kept urging me to push, leaving me little chance to refuse.<br />My teeth clenched on eachother as the extra sensitivity added to my womb made these contractions even more unbearable.<br />Quickly at the end of my strength, I decided to comply and pushed.<br />At what I perceived to be an alarming rate, the first egg left me fairly quickly because of how used my birth canal was to pushing oval shaped objects out. Exactly eight pushed were needed to rid my body of my first offspring.<br />Instead of being reliefed, I simply felt more pain and fear.<br />I didn&#039;t want to bring them into this world, I didn&#039;t want them to hatch, I didn&#039;t want them to grow up, I didn&#039;t want their lives to be thrown away like cannon fodder.<br />Second one came as quickly. With birthing now second nature to my gender they came to the world smoothly, their shape helping a great deal with that.<br />Half an hour or an hour later, I was already done.<br />Unlike the clusters of fifteen eggs I had carried, my body had created a measly four.<br />The aftermath had left me exhausted, numbed and sore, but most of all, I felt sorrow. In the end, with all this power I&#039;ve been created with, I will never be able to protect my own children.<br />With my belly now nearly flat, my accelerated healing quickly learning to help me recover even faster than before soon to set in, I took this chance to look at what I had been carrying.<br />Black Arms eggs were a mix of black and dark purple. Mine were black at the bottom before gradually turning into crimson red at the top. Their texture was kind of rough and the shell was only semi-hard.<br />The sight of those four eggs now resting between my two spread legs consoled me a little.<br />For a moment, everything was right again.<br />I closed my eyes and let my head fall back, earning me a stab of pain behind my ears. I let myself rest a little, planning on recovering as much in little time possible. Once again did I want to try and break free from my bonds. The sight of my offspring had once more encouraged me to keep fighting.<br />But that was quickly whisked away.<br />The entrance of this spawning chamber opened to reveal Black Doom himself as he entered.<br />Without a doubt he knew of what had transpired and came to take a look.<br />His cold, emotionless gaze scrutinized and judged me as he caught sight of the eggs. It was like he was mocking me for four eggs to be my limit. Like he had expected me to let him down, but just not this much.<br />A part of me wanted to look away, unable to stand his gaze. But for the most part I glared daggers at him as he bend down, one hand reached for the first egg I had laid.<br />&quot;No, don&#039;t touch it! Put it back down, Black Doom! I don&#039;t want your filthy paws to touch any of my children!&quot; I growled at him in anger.<br />How dare he! He doesn&#039;t have the right to touch an inch on their shell. He doesn&#039;t have the right to even look at them!<br />The alien overlord held the egg up high, as if investigating it.<br />And then he crushed it in his hand.<br />With my eyes wide and my mouth agape I stared as pieces of shell fell down to the ground and reddish egg white dripped down from his big hand.<br />He barely even put any effort into it, the shell had caved in and crushed what was inside just like that.<br />My mind unable to wrap around what I had just witnessed, I stared at his hand at the pulverised egg before it fell to the ground and Black Doom stared at his hand in disgust, like he had just touched something dirty.<br />When realisation sunk in and a fire of emotions ignited within, I screamed.<br />&quot;Don&#039;t be so dramatic, you insolent failure. That egg contained no life. It wasn&#039;t fertilised, it was dead. I did you a favour by removing future dissapointment.&quot; The alien voice scolded me, my wailing giving him a headache. My behaviour irritated him.<br />Though a part of him couldn&#039;t help but be amused with my crying and thrashing.<br />&quot;No! Put it down! Please, I beg of you, don&#039;t take that one away from me too!&quot; I pleaded once I was able to form coherent words. I could just make out the form of my second egg in Black Doom&#039;s hand through my blurry vision.<br />My pleads went ignored as the hivemind intently looked that one over aswell before destroying it in a single contraction of his muscles.<br />I cried out in terror again.<br />The third egg suffered the same faith and soon laid in a pulverised heap on the ground, out of my reach.<br />Five months of my life spend growing and nurturing those three, awaiting the day they&#039;d finally come with mixed feelings.<br />They didn&#039;t even get to hatch, those five months and all that effort whisked away in a manner of minutes.<br />By the time Black Doom picked the fourth and last egg up, I was yelling incoherent words and pleas and I cried, begging him to please, for Chaos&#039; sake, let that one live.<br />Black Doom placed the egg back down on the ground and some relief filled my shattered heart.<br />&quot;You irritate me with your constant wailing, child! If you weren&#039;t such a failure, you would&#039;ve noticed three of those eggs were lifeless and would never hatch.&quot; He scolded me again, like seeing the three of them get crushed right in front of me wasn&#039;t punishment enough.<br />&quot;Not only are you a traitor, but you are also a failure. I gave you one task to complete and you failed to do even that right. I should&#039;ve never have agreed to help your creator.&quot; Black Doom complaind and right now I couldn&#039;t agree more.<br />If I had never been created, I would&#039;ve never had to go through something this excrutiating, something this unimaginable.<br />Unable to take the headache I was giving him any longer, Black Doom left. And I was once again alone, crying, wailing and broken.</em><br /><br /><strong><span class='underline'>Sonic&#039;s POV</span></strong><br /><br />With Amy&#039;s guidance, our late night dinner was soon hot and prepared.<br />Rouge, Tails, Amy, Knuckles and I sat around the table as we ate, telling eachother of our day. Of course I told them all about my run-in with Eggman and how I smashed those bots until nothing was left, earning a dissapointed &#039;But I wanted you to be subtle&#039; reply from Tails. Knuckles Scolded me for my usual rash decisions and how it could&#039;ve endangered our mission and Amy and Rouge just listened, the latter surprisingly enough having nothing to say.<br />Either way, dinner came to an end and, after taking care of the dishes, we went back to work.<br />&quot;Anything yet, Tails?&quot; Knuckles asked as he watched over the kitsune&#039;s shoulder to look at the computer screen.<br />&quot;No, not yet. It was easy to guess where two of the Chaos Emeralds would be, but we&#039;ll have to try and track the last three down. If they&#039;re not too far away we&#039;ll know.&quot; Tails replied, taking his eyes off the screen for a moment to gaze back at the echidna.<br />&quot;Will it take long?&quot; The echidna asked, itching to get into action. He felt like it was about time he did something to help.<br />&quot;We should give it some time.&quot; The kitsune replied and turned to face his monitor again. knuckles leant against a nearby workbench and waited like Tails told him too, still wishing he could get into action already.<br />As if answering to his prayers, the computer began to beep, a mark appearing on the map shown on the monitor.<br />&quot;Great! Where is it?&quot; I asked, immediatly speeding over to the two mobians, though the workshop wasn&#039;t that big.<br />I gulped.<br />&quot;Aquatic Mines? Shouldn&#039;t be too difficult.&quot; Knuckles stated, hands resting on his hips.<br />&quot;No too difficult... Right...&quot; The Aquatic Mines were filled with water and danger under water and water! Did I mention there was alot of water?!<br />&quot;I didn&#039;t say you have to come alone. I can do this myself.&quot; The echidna said, confident that he didn&#039;t need any help. The mines were a place he&#039;s been tobefore when hunting after the pieces of the shattered Master Emerald. He figured that if it workd once, he could do it again. No biggie.<br />I didn&#039;t feel comfortable with staying here and doing nothing, though.<br />&quot;And while Knuxiepoo sets off to the Aquatic Mines, handsome blue and I can go to the jewel museum in downtown Station Square. Apparently they found a Chaos Emerald to put on display.&quot; Rouge informed us as she came walking into the workshop, holding up a piece of paper with an article, freshly printed.<br />&quot;Today?&quot; I asked as I took the paper to read it.<br />&quot;That sounds awfully convenient.&quot; The echidna stated, arms crossing in front of his chest.<br />&quot;What do you mean?&quot; Amy asked as she stood in the doorway after following Rouge here.<br />&quot;First Rouge is caught by G.U.N and now there&#039;s suddenly an emerald found and put on display.&quot; Knuckles replied.<br />&quot;You think G.U.N set a trap? So soon?&quot; The pink hedgehog asked.<br />&quot;G.U.N can be quick and efficient if they really want to and Commander Tower really likes Chaos Emeralds.&quot; Tails answered in turn.<br />&quot;It wouldn&#039;t be the first time they&#039;ve caught me like that.&quot; Rouge backed up, though in a playful manner. Even after all this time jewels were still a weakness of hers and the thrill of thieving still fresh in her mind.<br />&quot;Its your choice, Sonic. The museum or the mines.&quot; Tails said, turning his desk chair until he faced me.<br />He, what a choice. Possible G.U.N trap or water.</span>",
