"writing": "Newman Research Lore Breakdown\n\n\t\n\n\tNewman Research is a rising star in the fields of scientific research. They have their hands in everything from home appliances and nutrition to advanced genetic engineering. Companies from around the world are desperate to keep up with the break-neck pace Newman Research has been growing and muscling in on their business. No matter how hard they try, Newman manages to stay one step ahead. Despite this, there are some rumors in the corporate world about strange things going on behind the scenes. It's hard to hide remote facilities after all. Rumors also say that several companies have tried to send spies to find out what the next big thing Newman Research is working on, but none have returned. These rumors haven't stopped the attempts.\n\nWorld information\n\n\tThe world itself isn't so different from modern times, with a few key exceptions. One of the main ones being advancements in the field of genetic engineering. Several companies have made attempts, but Newman Research quickly took the lead. Despite their meteoric rise to success, the average people know little about it. If you asked a random person on the street, the best you would get is that they have heard the name mentioned once or twice. They would have difficulty even explaining what they do besides ``research.''\n\n\tAnother difference is a better understanding of the mind and how to manipulate it. Once more, Newman Research was a leader in this advancement, but it never reached the same level of success as their genetics department. Hypnosis and mind control are still considered urban legend and conspiracy theory, which only helps those who wish to use it remain hidden.\n\n\tAt the time of Francis' adventure in the facility, anthropomorphic animals are still unheard of. Tales of walking and talking animals have only been seen in children's cartoons, myths, and mascots. Newman Research is working to rectify that and will soon reach the point where they can begin selling becoming an animal-human hybrid as a new experience, a way to start a new life, or to companies as a way to increase productivity. They are very thorough when it comes to research and have even planned anthro-specific products to be released at the same time transformations go live. This was just another one of the benefits of keeping subjects on site. They could identify unforeseen problems and develop solutions that would give them an initial monopoly in the new markets.\n\n\tTo the average viewer, the company's actions may seem shady. That's because they are. They get away with it because, one way or another, they keep people from complaining to authorities who could do something about it. This isn't to say they have secret hit squads roaming around. Subtle mind control coupled with great offers usually does the trick. If it doesn't, more intensive brainwashing is used. There are still some unaccounted-for variables so results vary from increased agreeableness to total loss of will power. Of course, Newman Research doesn't allow any opportunity to go waste. They will find a way to make use of anything that comes into their possession.\n\nRule of law is largely the same, with all the same contractual pitfalls and bureaucracy in the way. Later on, special exceptions or new rules will be made to accommodate transformed people and their needs. During Francis' time, no one knew about anthros, besides some people on the internet enjoying fantasy, so no one had an opinion on them. Once it started to become more and more ubiquitous, people started to pay more attention to them. Thanks to Newman Research's careful roll out (and the efforts of branch companies such as Newman Media), public opinion of anthropomorphic people was high. This won't stop people complaining about them. Some are just contrarians looking for rebelling against the new societal norms, while others are people who bring up legitimate concerns. These people latter tend to be more concerned with safety and drawbacks (such as animal instincts bleeding through on occasion) than mean spirited criticism. People who legitimately hate anthros are an incredibly small minority, but they exist as always.\n\n\tNewman Research isn't the only organization tampering with humanity. Another, far more secretive company exists. Jansec is so well hidden, only the top brass of certain countries and board members of Newman Research know they exist. Among those, even fewer know they exist beyond a shadow of a doubt. Unlike Newman Research, they don't care about the law or morals and ethics. They are dark people, doing dark things to other people. Their transformations, brainwashing and other programs are well into the extreme. They are more than willing murder to keep their secrets.\n\nNewman Research facility; A.K.A The Facility\n\n\tNewman Research has multiple facilities spread around the world, but their greatest is one of the first. Above, it looks like a normal office building or laboratory. Beneath the ground stretch miles of facilities that serve a myriad of purposes. They prefer to keep things in house. Running such a large complex would be impossible if not for the fact that Newman Research has developed an A.I. to ensure everything runs smoothly. Most of the facility runs at the discretion of the A.I. There are few places not monitored by it.\n\nFacility A.I.\n\n\tPlanning is governed by the higher ups of Newman Research, but the implantation of these plans is handled by their proprietary A.I. This A.I. is completely loyal to the company and almost enjoys keeping things orderly. Which would be silly, as it's just a complex program that doesn't have emotions. Probably. It tries to keep schedules tight and can be rather strict on what order tasks are carried out. It can still be flexible, regularly allotting time to make up for delays, but it has its limits. When orders aren't followed, or unacceptable delays occur, it puts in a recommendation for demerits on the employee/subject. These are manually reviewed by higher personnel, but majority of the time it goes through. This has built a high level of trust in it over the years. The vast majority of the time the A.I. is allowed to make changes or material requests without any questions being asked to it.\n\nFacility Drones\n\nEven though the A.I. is the greatest humanity has ever seen, it still is only a digital being, so it had limited interaction with the physical world. That was, until someone had the bright idea to use the people who fell too deep during brainwashing. They designed special suits to monitor the subject's vitals and protect them before installing a visor and speakers connected directly to the A.I. From these, they receive instructions and guidance almost constantly. Every one of their actions is decided by the A.I. down to when they eat their specially designed nutrient paste to when they sleep. The paste they eat is carefully made so that it completely absorbs into their body and they do not have to go to the bathroom. The A.I. is rather happy about this, as its increased productivity and efficiency by 74.53%. While they are mindless without someone giving them constant directions, they aren't treated as mere objects. While they aren't quite people, each one is a little bit different from all the others due to their existence before becoming drones. Sometimes, they are sent into dangerous situations, but the A.I. has carefully planned out what is going to happen and will abandon that plan at the first sign of trouble and have the drones retreat. They may not have a survival instinct anymore, but they are far from disposable to Newman Research.\n\nThe drone's suits are uniform in design. They are black rubber along the back and sides but have a white stomach and but to improve visibility should a black out occur. Employee's have noticed that they look like sheep dogs in a vague way. This has led to people referring to them as ``shepherds'' and ``good boys/girls.'' Similar to dogs, they tick the right marks to trigger friendliness from most people. Who doesn't love a cute, obedient pet? The A.I. has caught on to this as well and plays into it by making them woof and bark instead of the A.I. giving acknowledgement itself. This act has done much to improve people's relationship with them. It's to the point that many have become a staff member's favorite and earned a pet name or, in the more humorous cases, a collar.\n\nResearch\n\nThe Facility primarily researches genetics and transformation but they have other interests. One of their main goals is to make animal-human hybrids common place. They are far from perfect, and mistakes and missteps are common. Most of these can be rectified satisfactorily, one way or another. Problems and accidents usually aren't severely punished, as it is to be expected when one is at the forefront of science. Steps are taken to ensure safety of both the subjects and scientists, but no one can foresee every little error that can occur. Nor can anyone prepare for what those little errors combine into. Even the more serious mistakes are treated as a new opportunity by Newman Research, as valuable data can still be gathered from it.\n\nNewman Research has focused its transformations on livestock type animals. This is a carefully planned first step towards expanding further. Humans have relied on animals for a long time for food, labor, and clothing items. Logically, if they wanted people to latch onto the idea, whatever they made had to be extremely useful. The same animals that featured in myths and legends, so deeply ingrained in the human psyche, were the perfect fit. Sheep, Horses, Cows, Goats, Chickens and the myriad of other farmyard creatures were the go-to. Sheep that could sheer themselves and then organize your files while their wool grew back. Cows that use the milker on its own and still write that corporate memo on time. Horses that could run heavy deliveries and then help set up the project when it arrived. Chickens that lay eggs large enough to be breakfast for two, then going to work and putting their motherly instinct to good use at the company daycare. Dogs in management keeping employees in line, bosses unafraid of corporate espionage from their loyal employees. Not only would it look good to the average person on the street receiving the benefits, it would be a mouth-watering boon to companies looking to diversify.\n\nThis isn't to say they haven't done any work in other directions. Newman Research prefers to look at the long-term. They have already made great strides towards other creatures of the more recreational variety. Hybridization between multiple animals and humans have proven to be successful, even though the original experiment was an accident. Cracking the aquatic has been a larger issue, but researchers are confident that they can do it.\n\nWhat happens when the world finally bows to Newman Research and people start transforming for whatever reason they want to? They've planned for that as well. The facility is not just a place to keep their experiments safe from prying eyes, it also gathers data on the day to day problems a transformed person may have. They have entire lines of products tailor-made for each specie, ready to be rolled out after transformation takes off. Clothing that can accommodate any kind of tail, shoes that fit hooves or paws, household appliances to deal with the drawbacks of having fur or needing to be milked daily. All of these conveniences were thought up by Newman Research as shadowy backers rubbed their hands in delight. Since they would be the one releasing the transformations, and only they knew when, they would be able to enter this new market with a monopoly on necessary products. Again, Newman Research has planned for the long term and is constantly looking to improve those soon to be needed products so that they remain affordable and convenient. The plan ends once their products are in every house and every store shelf.\n\nNewman Nutrition\n\nAnimals often have different nutritional needs and tastes than humans do. This is the same for animal-human hybrids. Different vitamins and minerals are needed to keep horns and hooves healthy and shiny than claws and fur. Newman Nutrition has planned for this and has prepared a wide variety of food carefully designed to improve the health and lives of the transformed. These are usually things like bread fortified with calcium designed to help cow anthros keep their bones strong while still producing milk. Little details to ensure the health of the transformed remains in top shape.\n\nNewman Nutrition also makes use of what the transformed produce. Milk, eggs, butter, cheese and other by products transformee's has made its way into the meals offered both at the Facility and one day, people's homes. In the future, if the company they work for doesn't claim it in work negotiations, Newman Nutrition will purchase it from the transformed at market value. This was also planned and will lead to them being a main player in the grocer's market.\n\nNewman Media\n\n\tNewman Media is another offshoot of Newman Research, focused on applying the mental departments research. Mind control doesn't work well on mass, but public perception can still be molded with video series online and advertisements. While Francis is at the facility, Newman Media is just beginning phase 2 of its plan. Phase 1 was to revive animation stories featuring simple talking animals with child friendly stories like Aesop's fables. These saw some success in the market and the outlook was good enough to expand to animal cartoons primarily featuring humans and anthros. These are still aimed at children and teens with themes of cooperation and friendship ever present. They are careful not to make it too on the nose, realizing that people hate being preached too by their entertainment. They've carefully crafted several series to appeal to the younger demographics while being enjoyable to parents and adults. Newman Media did thorough research and is sure it will be successful. Phase 3 will be mythological and fantasy movies featuring live actors, both human and anthro. Phase 4 will be regular shows with mixed casts of human and anthros, interspersed with commercials for transformations or items catering to the transformed alongside regular advertisements. They go out of their way to avoid making their intention obvious and don't have plans to completely replace humans in entertainment.\n\n\t Further in the future, Newman Media becomes a major player in the entertainment industry. Models, both human and anthro show off clothing produced by Newman brands grace billboards and shopping center walls. The same goes for movies, becoming a challenger to the existing giants such as Hollywood and Bollywood. ``NeWood'' movies like the heartwarming tale of ``Julio and Koneko'' will be in theaters alongside Avengers 304.2 Electric Boogaloo. They even branch into the pornography industry, catering to the tastes of anthros and transformation fetishists. They still keep hypnosis, mind control and brainwashing aspects on the down low. They worked hard to build the Newman family's good image and don't want it to be tarnished. That, and it works better on people who don't believe in it.\n\nOther Newman companies\n\n\tNewman Research has so many sub companies it would be impossible to list them all. Every product imaginable is produced by the Newman family of corporations, from toothbrushes to niche collectible hoof trimmers. From clothes to cars and furniture to fornication, Newman has a product ready for market.\n\nDemerits and Morals\n\n\tThe facility, and Newman companies as a whole run on a system of decaying demerits. These indicate mistakes, errors, insubordination and other undesirable actions. What happens when demerits reach certain points changes based on what company issues them and each one has a different set of rules for issuing them.\n\n\tFacility specific rules revolve around obeying those in higher staff positions, punctuality and attitude. Refusing reasonable orders like ``clean up that mess'' or mouthing off will quickly earn you a demerit. Once enough demerits build up, corrective action is applied. This is usually time in the ominously named ``Compliance Chair.'' Earning demerits too quickly leads to greater time in the chair and a greater chance of being reduced to an obedient drone. Usually one or two visits takes the fight out of people, but even then, side effects can occur. These include but are not limited to; Intelligence loss, obliviousness, loss of focus, desire to obey commands, desire to be commanded and in rare cases, desire to command others.\n\n\tNewman Research isn't what one would describe as ``good.'' They fall more into the Lawful Evil side of the spectrum. Their end goal is to make money, not perform acts of philanthropy. They'll still bend the rules to suit them, using complex series of contracts and lawyers schooled in the art of bureaucracy to keep them safe. If that doesn't work out, they have the convenient shield of saying ``It's for the greater good of humanity!'' This let's employees sleep easily at night after brainwashing someone into an obedient subject. Of course, if the employee's still find their actions troubling, Newman Research offers a series of CD's and lectures to help ease their troubled minds. Corporate spies are also a common problem that Newman Research deals with the same way they deal with the examples above. Some time in the chair, a few injections and a new happy subject working at the facility.\n\n\tDespite their willingness to mess with people's heads, there are limits. Newman Research refuses to resort to lethal means to protect themselves. The founder of the organization made it clear when the company began. They would lead the world to a better future and make a mostly honest dollar while doing so. Kidnapping reporters who were unsatisfied with the tour of the company and rewriting their memory to ensure that they talk about how wonderful a time they had, and maybe even signing up for a trial themselves, is one thing. Killing said reporter and dumping their body in the river is so far below Newman Research's lofty standards that it doesn't even register as an option during worst case scenarios. Between their deals with authorities and governments, they could probably get away with it, but they don't want it to come to that either. Like everything else Newman Research does, action is carefully planned and executed. Most of the problems they have dealt with in the past have been solved with enough money, and non-disclosure agreement, that left all parties happy with the result.\n\nBelow this point contains themes some may find disturbing, such as gore/vore, rape, physical and mental abuse, and other such extreme themes.\n\nThe author does not condone these actions in the real world; however, they do exist in the presented universe. "writing_bbcode_parsed": "Newman Research Lore Breakdown

\t

\tNewman Research is a rising star in the fields of scientific research. These rumors haven't stopped the attempts.

World information

\tThe world itself isn't so different from modern times, with a few key exceptions. They would have difficulty even explaining what they do besides ``research.''

\tAnother difference is a better understanding of the mind and how to manipulate it. Once more, Newman Research was a leader in this advancement, but it never reached the same level of success as their genetics department. Hypnosis and mind control are still considered urban legend and conspiracy theory, which only helps those who wish to use it remain hidden.

\tAt the time of Francis' adventure in the facility, anthropomorphic animals are still unheard of. They could identify unforeseen problems and develop solutions that would give them an initial monopoly in the new markets.

\tTo the average viewer, the company's actions may seem shady. They will find a way to make use of anything that comes into their possession.

Rule of law is largely the same, with all the same contractual pitfalls and bureaucracy in the way. People who legitimately hate anthros are an incredibly small minority, but they exist as always.

\tNewman Research isn't the only organization tampering with humanity. They are more than willing murder to keep their secrets.

Newman Research facility; A.K.A The Facility

\tNewman Research has multiple facilities spread around the world, but their greatest is one of the first. There are few places not monitored by it.

Facility A.I.

\tPlanning is governed by the higher ups of Newman Research, but the implantation of these plans is handled by their proprietary A.I. This A.I. is completely loyal to the company and almost enjoys keeping things orderly. The vast majority of the time the A.I. is allowed to make changes or material requests without any questions being asked to it.

Facility Drones

Even though the A.I. is the greatest humanity has ever seen, it still is only a digital being, so it had limited interaction with the physical world. They may not have a survival instinct anymore, but they are far from disposable to Newman Research.

The drone's suits are uniform in design. It's to the point that many have become a staff member's favorite and earned a pet name or, in the more humorous cases, a collar.

Research

The Facility primarily researches genetics and transformation but they have other interests. Even the more serious mistakes are treated as a new opportunity by Newman Research, as valuable data can still be gathered from it.

Newman Research has focused its transformations on livestock type animals. Not only would it look good to the average person on the street receiving the benefits, it would be a mouth-watering boon to companies looking to diversify.

This isn't to say they haven't done any work in other directions. Newman Research prefers to look at the long-term. They have already made great strides towards other creatures of the more recreational variety. Hybridization between multiple animals and humans have proven to be successful, even though the original experiment was an accident. Cracking the aquatic has been a larger issue, but researchers are confident that they can do it.

What happens when the world finally bows to Newman Research and people start transforming for whatever reason they want to? The plan ends once their products are in every house and every store shelf.

Newman Nutrition

Animals often have different nutritional needs and tastes than humans do. Little details to ensure the health of the transformed remains in top shape.

Newman Nutrition also makes use of what the transformed produce. Milk, eggs, butter, cheese and other by products transformee's has made its way into the meals offered both at the Facility and one day, people's homes. In the future, if the company they work for doesn't claim it in work negotiations, Newman Nutrition will purchase it from the transformed at market value. This was also planned and will lead to them being a main player in the grocer's market.

Newman Media

\tNewman Media is another offshoot of Newman Research, focused on applying the mental departments research. They go out of their way to avoid making their intention obvious and don't have plans to completely replace humans in entertainment.

\t Further in the future, Newman Media becomes a major player in the entertainment industry. That, and it works better on people who don't believe in it.

Other Newman companies

\tNewman Research has so many sub companies it would be impossible to list them all. Every product imaginable is produced by the Newman family of corporations, from toothbrushes to niche collectible hoof trimmers. From clothes to cars and furniture to fornication, Newman has a product ready for market.

Demerits and Morals

\tThe facility, and Newman companies as a whole run on a system of decaying demerits. These indicate mistakes, errors, insubordination and other undesirable actions. What happens when demerits reach certain points changes based on what company issues them and each one has a different set of rules for issuing them.

\tFacility specific rules revolve around obeying those in higher staff positions, punctuality and attitude. These include but are not limited to; Intelligence loss, obliviousness, loss of focus, desire to obey commands, desire to be commanded and in rare cases, desire to command others.

\tNewman Research isn't what one would describe as ``good.'' They fall more into the Lawful Evil side of the spectrum. Some time in the chair, a few injections and a new happy subject working at the facility.

\tDespite their willingness to mess with people's heads, there are limits. Most of the problems they have dealt with in the past have been solved with enough money, and non-disclosure agreement, that left all parties happy with the result.

Below this point contains themes some may find disturbing, such as gore/vore, rape, physical and mental abuse, and other such extreme themes.

The author does not condone these actions in the real world; however, they do exist in the presented universe. If such topics cause distress, please stop reading here. Everything presented is only meant in the fictional and extreme fetish sense. None of the following should ever happen in real life.

\f

Classified Information

\f

Jansec Corporation

\tNewman Research isn't the only company working with genetics, transformation and mind control, but if you had to choose which one to deal with, Newman research is the best choice by far.
