The original had different species and a jungle tribal theme so I shelved it till I decided to alter it into a completely different image and came up with a fun narrative that expanded into a secondary image (next upload).\n\nText makes mention of cannibalism which is lightly depicted in the follow up piece. While conducting honest work with taking goods from one city to another, they slaughtered and cannibalized those that would contract them as escorts as well as other travelers they’ll run into while making their deliveries. Occasionally they’ll run into other bandits where they will trade stolen goods and, in some cases, meat from their victims.\n\nA hyena clan formed a strong relationship with the bandits as they were always ready to buy any stock of bodies from them to consume with one hyena joining them and others expressing interest in becoming part of their group. The fox shared leadership with a bear he met early in his criminal career and the pair decided it was time to take on a new permanent member to their group. Looking over several hyenas from the clan, the pair decided on an eager golden-haired hyena to see if he was a good fit. The excited hyena was put to work doing manual labor, which he handled without complaining and quickly got along with all the others. After a couple of deliveries and the killing some travelers, the fox and bear decided the hyena was ready to take their test to become a full-fledged member of their gang.\n\nOne of the large cities they frequented had a large jackal temple where the pair developed the taste of flesh after killing and consuming a guard they killed for the jewelry and weapons he carried. Their test was reminiscent of this act, where the hopeful member would need to kill a jackal and bring the body to them. A narrow alley between two shops caught his attention, casually walking into the dark alley, peeking out to confirm there’s no one else walking about, he readies his bow and aims at the temple’s wall, waiting for a sentry to walk into view. It didn’t take long for a jackal to appear, walking slowly with his bow ready as he looked down at the empty street below. Holding his breath, the hyena adjusts his aim and releases an arrow, striking the sentry in the side of the head, dropping out of view as he crumbled to the floor.\n\nWasting no time, the hyena slung his bow and drew the knife from his quiver and walked out of the alley, confirming no one was around before he dashed for the temple’s wall. Placing the knife in his mouth, he scaled the wall and rolled onto the platform above landing next to the sentry he killed lying face down in a pool of blood. “Not good enough” thought the hyena to himself as he looked at the jackal’s body and got his bow ready as he made his way to an opening leading inside the temple. Going inside ready to fire his bow, he heard two voices coming from a room near his entry point. “No one will come through at these hours so stop worrying about being seen” said one of the voices which made the hyena smirk as he held his position lowering his bow as he continued to listen. The conversation ended shortly after, replaced by moans and slurping sounds. The hyena grinned wide as he raised his bow and began to make his way around the corner into the room.\n\nTwo jackals came into view, one on his knees bobbing his head on the lap of a sitting jackal facing the hyena moaning with his eyes closed. Holding his aim for a few seconds, the hyena releases the arrow as the jackal opens his eyes, slumping back with a gasp as the arrow imbeds itself into his forehead. The hyena walked quickly as the other jackal continued unaware until he was struck on the head by the hyena’s elbow. Pulling him back, the hyena wrapped his legs around the jackal’s head and brought him to the ground with him, giggling as the jackal hopelessly struggled to break free. “Not the fighting type, are you?” asked the hyena as he laughed pulling on his leg and twisting his hips making an audible pop as the jackal’s neck broke. “Wonder if you priests taste different than soldiers. Let’s go find out” he said as he released the jackal and stood up, dragging the jackal by the arms back to the dead sentry. He returned for the sitting jackal, dragging him by the ankles and as he got to the other two bodies, he lifted the body and threw him over the wall. He did the same to the other two bodies, putting the sentry’s bow on his shoulder next to his and scaling the wall halfway down before jumping off. Looking at both sides of the empty street, he grabbed each jackal by the ankles and dragged them into the dark alley. Kicking sand to cover the trail of blood, he placed the sentry’s bow up against a wall and casually walked back to the carriage.\n\nThe fox and bear were outside with the others having a drink and talking, growing silent as they saw the hyena walking towards them with a wide grin. “So there’s 3 meals resting in an alley next to the temple” said the hyena as everyone’s eyes opened wide. “Does the alley go through?” asked the fox as the rest hopped into the carriage. “Yes…” said the hyena as the fox quickly turned and jumped up to the driver seat. “Well come on now and show us where” the fox said as he held a hand out for the hyena to join him.\n\nPulling up to the opposite end of the alley, everyone but the bear and the fox walked into the alley, walking down several houses before they came upon the 3 bodies. Picking them up, they brought them back to their carriage and left the city.
