Victory is usually determined by the first fighters to fall, prompting early retreats before being outnumbered and unable to safely escape. A hunting party of hyenas and one of lions were making their way to the same hunting grounds, heading directly into each other. Upon spotting each other, both parties charged immediately. The lions appeared to have the upper hand right away with a lioness taking out one of the charging hyenas with an arrow to the head. Unnoticed by the lions fighting up close, hyena archers dispatched their own archers early in the battle, noticing they were outnumbered too late to retreat. One of the male lions was knocked to the ground by a blow from the shaft of a spear, dropping his own as he fell flat on his back. Attempting to sit up, he stops short noticing several spears pointed at him with one of the hyenas grinning wide as they locked eyes. Expecting death, the hyenas surprised him by pulling their spears away and proceeding to kick and stomp on him for a bit before binding his hands behind his back and helping him up to his feet.\n\nSpotting the returning group from a distance, several hyenas ran up to assist them as two struggled to keep the captured lion walking straight while the others were dragging the bodies of the other lions and their fallen. With everyone gathering at the center of their village, an overly excited hyena carrying a block places it on the ground and walks back where he grabbed the block from, picking an axe from a set of several blades on a rack. Continuing to resist, the lion is punched and kicked by various hyenas, weakening him enough to drag him over to the block and bring him to his knees in front of it. “Hold still and I’ll make it nice and quick so you can join your friends” said the excited hyena as he lightly ran a finger down the length of his axe’s edge. With a growl, the lion tries to lunge at him only to be shoved by the hyena's free hand with ease followed by a burst of laughter as others surround him and kick him until he’s curled up. Raising him back on the block, the hyena raised the axe over his head and took his position, side stepping left and right as he aligned his body with the lion’s head. Taking several steps back and shouting “here we go”, the lion raised his head from the block. Predicting the lion’s reaction, a female standing behind him takes a quick step forward and delivers a kick between his legs, bringing the lion’s head back onto the block as he roared in pain. With a couple quick steps towards the lion, the executioner leaps up on the air bringing down the axe on the back of the lion’s neck. The heavy blade went through the the lion with ease, dropping his head off the block with the hyena landing too close to it prompting him to dive over the axe and accidentally kicking the severed head in the process. Stopping the rolling head with her foot, a female picked up the head by an ear and held it high in front of her as everyone cheered.
