"description": "This was a commission from last year where the commissioner wanted to change their OC's literally after I finished it and was ready to post it. Give it a month of non-payment and I didn't want to let the image to to waste so I tried to change his OC's into some generic characters. I'm not happy with the results and in hindsight I should have redrawn the executioners and add them in but since it's already done, I didn't want to invest more time into it. Here's what's going on:\n\nExecutioners within a large kingdom kept the stage busy for notable convicts such as war prisoners, nobility, and criminals with a known reputation. For all other criminals sentenced to death, the busy execution square was too good for them and the king ordered their executions to be conducted outside the walls. The head executioner chose the most efficient location, using the mass graves used to bury executed criminals for the site, setting up a simple post to garrote them. He relegated this duty to the understudies, rotating them between helping him directly and running the post by the graves.\n\nRotation was several days at a time, with the executioners arriving early in the morning at the site to prepare their equipment and wait for the convicts to arrive. As criminals were judged throughout the day, those handed a death sentence were immediately sent out to be executed if they weren't notable criminals or from a prominent family. For the executioners, this meant several carts arriving throughout the day with as little as one convict to execute. Fighting boredom while waiting for carts to arrive, even on busy days with carts full of convicts, the procedure never changed unlike the execution stage where the methods varied from hangings and beheadings to crushing and impaling.\n\nThe current pair were coming to the end of their last day before rotating back to the main stage. Spending nearly half of their shift talking before spotting heading their way, they slowly stood up to prepare for work. Running a cord through a hole in the post, the brown furred executioner made a loop and wrapped it around a short metal shaft while the other one checked the sturdiness of a metal ring bolted a short distance below the hanging loop. The cart pulled past the post and stopped, with 4 armored guards riding in the back with a pair of foxes with their hands bound behind their backs. Helping the foxes down, the executioners checked their binds as one of the guards unrolled the written order and presented it to them. \"Two thieves and they're foxes... what a surprise\" said the grey one as the pair rolled their eyes and signed the order as the executioners. \"Let's go orange\" said the grey one as he grabbed the orange fox by the arm and pulled him towards the pole. Standing with his back against it, a short length of rope was ran between his wrist binds and around the metal ring to secure him to the post. The guards escorted the red fox past the post, facing the orange fox as the loop was placed around his neck and the brown furred executioner began twisting the bar, tightening the cord around his neck. The fox let out a yelp of shock as he felt the sudden pressure on his neck, quickly closing his throat as his executioner continued to turn the bar. Looking at the grey furred executioner standing beside him with his arms crossed and the guards watching with an unchanged expression on their faces, he began to panic, pulling at his binds and trying to pull his head away. The struggle escalated, kicking and silently screaming as his face twisted making horrified expressions as he fought to breathe. The executioner stopped turning the bar and held it in place when the fox began to fight violently, maintaining the pressure of the loop around the neck. The fox suddenly stopped struggling and slumped down, making some of the guards cock an eyebrow. After a few seconds the fox began convulsing for a short time before going limp again. The executioner waited a few more seconds then began twisting the bar in the opposite direction, loosening the grip around the fox's neck. He stopped as he struggled to support the fox's body as it leaned forward and released the bar, walking around and removing the cord around the neck, holding the fox's head up. Adjusting his grip around the snout and side of the head, he turned it to the right, readjusted his grip and grunted as he pushed further, stopping when an audible pop was heard as the head simultaneously turned over the shoulder. Releasing the head, he grabbed the loose end of the cord wrapping his binds to the metal ring and yanked it, undoing the knot and dropping the body to the ground. He walked over to the red fox as the grey furred executioner dragged the dead fox a few feet away from the post, leaving him on his back as he went to inspect the loop for any damage.\n\nThe red fox began to panic as the executioner grabbed him by the arm, pleading for mercy and bursting into tears. He continued to weep and plead at the pair as they were preparing him. \"Why do so many think the same? Sure buddy, just because you asked I'm gonna spare you and take your place when the king hears what happened\" said the grey one as he began twisting the cord. \"It's desperation. They can't accept what's happening. Try to be respectful\" said the brown one as he began dragging the orange fox towards the cart. \"Fine... I guess its better than hurling insults and trying to take off\" replied the grey one as the red fox's pleas were cut off by the tightening cord. Placing the orange fox in the cart, he lifted the legs up, turning the body around to slide him down feet first, \"maybe we can talk the boss into letting us get a bucket and the neck thing. It's more physical work but much faster to get going\" he said, receiving a puzzled response from the grey one of \"A bucket neck thing, what?\". Looking over his shoulder to meet eyes with the grey one, he smiled under his hood, \"oh you don't know! So I heard the kingdom to the north uses a bucket of water. They just kneel the convicts in front of it with a metal collar attached to a rod and just dunk the head in the water until they stop moving. How do you not know about it?\" he asked as the grey one's eyes looked up for a short time before turning his head forward as he calmly replied, \"like they'll approve the cost of crafting one of those collars, let alone giving us a supply of water through the day\". Taking his eyes back to the red fox, he continued to fight his binds, stiffening up and trying to push his head forward. \"You're right, if it costs anything, its going to be a no\" the brown one added as he returned to his task, straightening the orange fox on his back and hopping in the cart, pulling him down by the ankles.\n\nOnce the red fox became still, the same process wrapped up the execution as his neck was broken and both executioners carried the body into the cart. Hopping on along with the guards, they rode down to the mass grave nearby with some of the guards complaining about the smell of the rotting bodies within it. As they were coming to a stop, the executioners were busy removing the bindings on the wrists of the foxes and removed their shirts. The brown one hopped off the cart and pulled the red one by the arms, holding him over the edge as the grey one grabbed the fox's leggings by the waist with both hands. They exchanged a nod and the brown one pulled as he backed up quickly, causing the fox to slide out of his bottoms, landing on the dirt nude. The same was done with the orange one with their clothing left on the cart. \"We'll see you guys later\" said one of the guards as the cart started moving and the pair waved at them. Picking up the orange fox by the wrists and ankles, they walked over to the edge of the pit, swung the fox back and forth a couple of times and released him, tossing the body on top of a pile in various stages of decomposition. The red fox was thrown right after, landing next to the orange fox and the pair began walking back to their post, discussing what they brought for lunch, looking forward to their upcoming shifts at the main stage.",
