Sometimes I drop those goals (usually unintentionally) and need to revisit, review, revise, or generally revitalize them.  While the changing of the years is a good time to do this, it is hardly the only time I do it.\n\nRight now, I have no big announcements of changes. For example... you may or may not recall Patreon's fee fumble in December 2017, in which Patreon announced plans to tack their processing fees onto patron pledges, rather than take them from the creator's cut.  I never addressed that issue here for two reasons:\n1.  I figured Patreon had not thought this idea fully through and would change its mind (which turned out to be the case).\n2.  I did not have an alternative solution to my existing Patreon model.\n\nWhile Patreon did, indeed, abandon its fee revision plan, the whole thing did remind me that I should always keep my options open.  I created a Ko-Fi profile and already have [url=http://www.paypal.me/Schopfer]a PayPal tip jar[/url].  Neither of those are perfect alternatives, but they are alternatives.  In addition to assessing Patreon alternatives, I do want to review my engagement with Patreon and you, my supporters here.\n\nI doubt that I say it enough, but you mean so much to me.
