The scanner should accept your biometrics, Sal-\"\n\n\"Nicole, that isn't the problem!\" the princess barked back over the comms link between her and the rest of the operatives back at Freedom HQ, over the whining drone of electronics and mechanisms experiencing severe overload. She had making good progress through Eggman's newest factory, unseen by the roaming Badniks, until she had come to one of the security checkpoints along the way.\n\nAs per the plan, Nicole had hacked into the factory's files and covertly provided Sally with security clearance for the whole place. She would get herself scanned, no intruder alarms would be triggered, and the doors would allow her right on through, removing the need for her to try and sneak through the vents again. As always seemed to be the case, though, Sally's plans quickly went awry once her missions began, just as tonight's did when the frame of the scanner collided with her enormous, door-busting hips. The princess abruptly found herself hoisted around a foot off the ground before the scanner shuddered to a halt, components suddenly straining against a weight that was an order of magnitude greater than what they were designed to handle. Sally's huge backside and tree-trunk thighs, though, were keeping her wedged firmly in place as she tried and failed to wriggle her way out. \"Damn it!\" she blurted in frustration, accompanied by another squeal of overstressed metal. \"Can't you reset this thing somehow?\"\n\nThe lynx back at base tapped away at a few keys in front of a large screen, on which scrolled lines upon lines of of computer code incomprehensible to the others around her. \"Possibly,\" she replied, eyes not leaving the screen. \"There does not appear to be a hard reset command, but I may be able to-\"\n\n-BANG!-\n\n[NODE DISCONNECTED]\n\nNicole's fleet fingers came to a stop as a sudden sharp pop rang out over the communicator, startling the lynx momentarily, before the myriad lines of code flying across her screen were replaced in an instant by that single message sitting squarely in the center of her view. She blinked. \"Sally, I have been forcibly disconnected from the scanner's directory,\" she informed the princess, \"has anything happened?\"\n\n\"Rrrgh! Yes, something's happened!\" Sally replied, unwilling to provide further details as she continued her fruitless attempts to extract herself from the now motionless and silent scanner, light plumes of smoke billowing from the pillars either side of her as the mechanism had completely blown, and locked itself in place. \"We've gotta go to plan B!\"\n\n\"Okay, Sally,\" confirmed Nicole calmly, \"I'm sending in your backup, they should be with you in a few minutes.\"\n\n\"Wait, backup?\" The princess paused her twisting and turning for a moment, legs dangling in mid-air. \"We never discussed that in the briefing, I didn't ask for-\"\n\n\"Don't worry, chipmunk cheeks!\" came the voice of the ever frivolous Snap over her earpiece. \"I'll have your fat arse out of danger in no time!\"\n\nSally's efforts to squirm free immediately intensified.",
