Chestnut, or as some others call him Sly, is a different individual. One might ask of why, if he is only seen as normal compared to many. Though to these many he has a unique ability and the truce of it all lies to in his past, where many begin in their childhood and the start of a new road for opportunity and change. For he isn’t truly like his other brotheren, but has an extraordinary power. For those unaware, Sly isn’t like any other Kangaroo, though he also can shift forms. That of those being a Lugia, Snivy, Guilmon, ect. Those forms he gained however, not having them from the beginning. Why is that so? Well taking a look through his history, we can find out the revolutionary idea of this being able to do what not many can. Shapeshifting. It began all in the day when he was fairly young, new to the world and unable to speak clear English. His family, unlike him, were more interested in training their legs and preparing for survival. Sly however didn’t take much interest in all that. He was more interested in other, more human things. His family didn’t seem much the point, but Sly saw it as opportunity. His family lived near the forests, unlike the other Kangaroos. And as well unlike the other Kangaroos they had adapted to that sort of area. They eat from the trees and wilderness of there surroundings, and contrary to belief they actually run faster, better than they can hop. It just comes with the territory, living there for so long. Sly wasn’t at all interested into his culture however, even if he was a part of it. He rather be exploring more, and usually that’s what he did. He could care less what his brotheren think. He however one day while on his daily walked, he had noticed a unique creature. This wasn’t an animal, or that is what had seemed to be as it looked much unusual. It had a slick, bird like figure, and unnatural look that almost scared the roo. It seemed to of been swimming, so he thought instead he’d sneak on by. Too bad the Creature noticed, making a unnerving noise. It had popped out of that body of water and looked down upon the Roo with it being almost double in size. With nothing to say, Sly ran as fast as he could to escape... but the creature kept going faster, soaring in the sky as he was frightened before he knew that the creature captured him. He was frightened as shaking in fear, waiting for his demise. But it didn’t happen, though instead the creature gave off a smile and let the Roo down. He didn’t understand, as it was well know in these parts... eat or get eaten. His mind was at awe though, such a big creature that didn’t want to eat him. He was confused. Though before Sly could take his way, the creature started talking in what seemed to be of an english language, like what Humans speak. “Sorry I scared you like that little guy, are you okay?” Sly by instinct knew something was up, though he could only communicate in his native Kangaroo language. But amazed, thinking this must be some sort of Alien creature. Not sure, he gave a nod, a signal of showing yes. “Thank goodness! I’m very sorry, I know my size isn’t exactly normal.” The big bird like creature then took a cough and introduced himself, “My name is Lugia, or well, that’s what species I am persay.” The Roo was very curious now, what is a Lugia persay? Not sure, though he was confident it came from a different area, or perhaps... a different world? Nah, that seems silly. Sly tried to say it, “L-Lu...gia?” Lugia nodded with a smile, then giving a wing out in a friendly gesture, “Nice to meet you... so what is your name?” Sly realized he couldn’t speak his language well as is, and saying his name is hard enough, so he got a stick and drived it through the dirt, Spelling out “S...L...Y” He smiled, dropping the stick and pointing to himself. Lugia nodded, the name seemed unique considering it’s an adjective. The Lugia spent a bit of time with the Roo, wanting to get to know more about him, but of course with his unfamiliarity of English speech it was hard to get anywhere. Then Sly realized he’s been out for a while, thinking he should go back before his family worry about him. “Ahh, I see. I could perhaps let you ride my back to the way home then?” Sly was at first a bit nervous, though settling down he nodded, replying yes. Lugia than allowed him up his back as he than soon lifted off, heading towards his home. Sly realized on his way back this might be the chance for him to maybe live out his dreams. He might finally be able to do what he’s always dreamed. Getting back, the other Kangaroo curiously wondered where he’d been, him not saying a single bit of what happened this day. He doesn’t want anyone to get any ideas. He than captured dinner and ate happily, thinking the next morning he’d return to the pool of water where the Lugia had been and learn more. That next day, he had done so. He viewed the spot again as noticing no sign of him, a bit disappointed before going back. Hearing the wind, he heard a strong breeze before Lugia swooped up and stopped himself in front of him. He smiled, thinking Sly would return. “Welcome, glad to see you again Sly!” The two spent that afternoon together, Sly learning more and more English from Lugia, as the Lugia learning more of his customs. Though it was yet again time for him to go so he yet again had ridden the Lugia back to his home. The cycle continued as each afternoon they would do the same they had done over and over again. Currently it had been over a month, the Kangaroo was learning more English by the minuet. Now able to speak in both his Native and Human talk. The Lugia wasn’t surprised, as Sly had been forcing himself to speak English every time they do meet. Lugia looked down to Sly, nudging his elbow a bit. “So Sly, you enjoying all this English talk you’re learning?” Sly smiled, “Why of course, and I couldn’t of done it without your help!” Sly scratched his head, handing him a wrapped gift, “Oh uhm... and I made you a present Lugia.” Lugia surprised, he took the gift and nodded, before he than opened it and reveled what seemed to be a handmade necklace. “Oh? What is this Sly?” Sly smiled with his hands reaching over to put it onto him, “Why just something I made in my spare time... though it’s not the best.” The Roo blushed in embarrassment, knowing it looked rather ugly. To his surprise however, the Lugia smiled, “Well I do appreciate the gift Sly, thank you.” The Lugia took Sly home that night and as Sly hopped off, his chest had felt strange. It felt almost as he had a miniature heart attack. Sly sat down for a bit, though the Lugia worried he kneaded his arm but he just pushed him away. “You should leave before the others find you Lugia...” Lugia wasn’t too sure, but after a bit of convincing he listened and headed off. Sly walked over to the other Kangaroo, though when they saw him they worried he might be hurt, his paw over his hand. Sly shrugged them off as he went over to his resting space where he could ease the pain. Sly wasn’t too sure what the feeling was, but it must of not been too good if it hurt so much. That night, Sly woke up, still feeling the chest pain as he thought maybe he should get checked up... but he decided instead he’d walk it off. He walked away from his area, back to where he might think Lugia is resting up. He indeed was, snoozing on the water. Sly swam over, tapping the Lugias’ wing. “Oh..?” Lugia woke up and saw the roo, but before he knew it Sly had drowned. His chest pains were getting worse, not being able to focus on swimming. The Lugia in shock had went down after Sly before it was too late, but noticed a glowing mark on his chest. Before long, Sly’s body began to develop in light, his body changed shape into something familiar to him. Lugia grabbed Sly and kept him afloat the surface, then getting him back up into land before Lugia saw him, surprised, “Sly, you okay buddy..?” Sly nodded, shortly after feeling his chest pains had eased. He was relieved, though Lugia still surprised, “Hey uhm... You should maybe check how you look buddy.” Sly was confused, moving himself over to the pool of water. The moonlight reflected, showing what seemed to be a Lugia... wait... Lugia!? He was honestly in shock, noticing his paws now wings, his feet longer, and his shape and length had changed drastically. How could this happen to him, and why? Lugia was in shock himself, it seemed that his body morphed into that of his own. Unsure what to say in this situation, though he was quite intrigued by what had just happened. “What happened... and... how..?” Sly honestly just was in shock as he was, not knowing what to say, “I...I...!” Time passed, the Moon still over their heads as they tried to figure out what had happened. Sly unsure, though liking his new body, was really in shock. Lugia scratched his head, thinking about the event. Then it just hit him, he remembered! Lugia told Sly about the glowing in his chest and how his body glowed soon after, morphing to that of a Lugia. “So is that why I’m a Lugia now?” Lugia nodded, assured that it has to be the case. Sly unaware, thinking to himself he might be stuck like this. He wasn’t sure he wanted to be a Lugia forever. Lugia looked to Sly as he pondered, “Hmm... maybe you can change back somehow?” Slys’ head perked up. He told him that maybe if he thought hard enough, about changing back into a Kangaroo, maybe he could. Sly thought otherwise, but might as well give it a chance. He thought really hard, thinking of changing back to that of a Kangaroo, and soon enough his body reverted back to that of his smaller and fluffier Roo self. “H-hey Lugia, it worked!” He was excited, glad to be back in his original state. The Lugia nodded, happy as well. He hugged Sly tightly so sudden though, keeping him close, “Hey Sly, I needed to tell you something...” Sly worried, not sure he wanted to know with the tone of voice he had, but asked anyways. “Well, I’m not from this world. I live in a world filled with other unique creatures called Pokemon. I am actually one of the Guardians of the Sea, and I protect it from the dangerous Bird Trio. The reason though why I’m here is I was sent away here, to this world of different creatures, by a whirling vortex in the seas that sucked me up and now I am stuck here...” Sly was unable to speak words. He knew Lugia was from another planet, but didn’t expect to hear there were many creature that are like it. Sly, giving off a faint smile, nudging the Lugia a bit. He told him one day he might be able to help bring him back to his world. He assured him that he’ll do it, no matter what. Lugia nodded in acceptance, thanking the Roo. Though Sly had now changed back into a Roo, he thought his time was up with the others. He accepted that maybe it was best he left in silence so the others wouldn’t find out about his whereabouts. He decided to move onto bigger things, and finally start his journey in which he always wanted to partake. He wanted to live amongst the Humans, and become something more. He wanted to learn from them, take from their ways, and expand his capabilities. Lugia went by his side, agreeing to be his guardian along the way. The two, becoming best friends was what helped Sly learn about his true potential. He was able to become one with the Species if been close friends with them. He accepted his ability, though as a gift he was blessed with from the day he was born. As the two headed out, they were assured they would get to the world which that Lugia had mentioned. They knew without a ounce of doubt that they can fight through anything, and with the hardships and efforts they’ll pull through, nothing will stop their bond.
