It is a small circular design inscribed in light, usually on the palm of the Defender’s off-hand. Each one is completely unique and cannot be copied, due to it being tied to the Defender’s DNA code. The ID Brands also enable Digivolution. When two Rank 7 (or higher) Defenders give authorization, all Defenders within the area can Digivolve at will. Digivolution, however, takes immense amounts of energy, particularly when Digivolving to Ultimate or Mega. After battle, it is not uncommon for Digimon to pass out, or even degenerate to In-Training forms.\n\nEmergency Data Transfer (EDT) - A device that allows the compression of data and instantaneous transfer and reintegrating of said data. It is essentially a transporter device that allows the Defenders to move from a Defenders base to almost anywhere in the Digital World or to be evacuated back to a Defenders base in an emergency. However, it is notorious for side effects (confusion, disorientation, loss of lunch, and in rare cases, unconsciousness); and for accidents (missing body parts, swapped body parts, fused Digimon), so most Digimon do not like to rely on it except for in extreme emergencies.\n\nBlack Collars – Devices programmed to infuse the victim with a virus that saps their will, leaving them mindless, entranced slaves. Early versions of this left the victim with brain damage, rendering the condition permanent (i.e. Ranamon), but later versions can be removed with minimal ill effects. A side effect of the virus causes the victim’s eyes to glow red. The Collars themselves have a limited A.I. allowing them to discern targets, evade attacks, and strategize, as well as direct the actions of a slave once closed around a victim. When a large number of Collars link together, they can form a portal from one place to another in the Digital World.\n\nFile Island Headquarters – The original and main headquarters of the Defenders. While there are over a dozen bases around the Digital World, File Island has a reputation as somewhat of an elite base. The compound is VERY large, accommodating up to 250 Defenders, although usually the population is about half that. It has barracks with individual quarters for each of the Defenders, a mess hall, a large training field, an arsenal, entertainment compound (with games, movies, and more), a full-sized Japanese onsen (natural hot-spring bath), infirmary, and much more. The base has powerful automated defenses designed to delete unwanted trespassers instantaneously. Arkadimon – An immensely powerful Digimon that can corrupt Digimon into its service, or absorb Digimon into its being…  Its sole wish is to absorb the Digital World into itself, making all one with it…  The more it absorbs, the stronger and more intelligent it gets.  When it absorbs a certain amount of Digimon, it will Digivolve into a new and more deadly form…  Its In-Training form is powerful enough to kill a Mega in one blow.

Absorb- Arkadimon absorbs a Digimon into itself, gaining all of its skills and abilities, along with its intelligence and memories.

ArkadiCore- Arkadimon implants a Digimon with a special core that turns them into a drone.  Arkadimon’s consciousness takes over their minds and bodies.  The A-Core cannot be removed except under special circumstances without deleting the victim.

Devices, Items, and Terms

Defenders ID Brand – Every Defender has a special ID Brand.  It is a small circular design inscribed in light, usually on the palm of the Defender’s off-hand.  Each one is completely unique and cannot be copied, due to it being tied to the Defender’s DNA code.  The ID Brands also enable Digivolution.  When two Rank 7 (or higher) Defenders give authorization, all Defenders within the area can Digivolve at will.  Digivolution, however, takes immense amounts of energy, particularly when Digivolving to Ultimate or Mega.  After battle, it is not uncommon for Digimon to pass out, or even degenerate to In-Training forms.

Emergency Data Transfer (EDT) -  A device that allows the compression of data and instantaneous transfer and reintegrating of said data.  It is essentially a transporter device that allows the Defenders to move from a Defenders base to almost anywhere in the Digital World or to be evacuated back to a Defenders base in an emergency.  However, it is notorious for side effects (confusion, disorientation, loss of lunch, and in rare cases, unconsciousness); and for accidents (missing body parts, swapped body parts, fused Digimon), so most Digimon do not like to rely on it except for in extreme emergencies.

Black Collars – Devices programmed to infuse the victim with a virus that saps their will, leaving them mindless, entranced slaves.   Early versions of this left the victim with brain damage, rendering the condition permanent (i.e. Ranamon), but later versions can be removed with minimal ill effects.  A side effect of the virus causes the victim’s eyes to glow red.  The Collars themselves have a limited A.I. allowing them to discern targets, evade attacks, and strategize, as well as direct the actions of a slave once closed around a victim.  When a large number of Collars link together, they can form a portal from one place to another in the Digital World.

File Island Headquarters – The original and main headquarters of the Defenders.  While there are over a dozen bases around the Digital World, File Island has a reputation as somewhat of an elite base.  It was chosen as the main headquarters because it is the place the DigiDestined first came to the Digital World.  The compound is VERY large, accommodating up to 250 Defenders, although usually the population is about half that.  It has barracks with individual quarters for each of the Defenders, a mess hall, a large training field, an arsenal, entertainment compound (with games, movies, and more), a full-sized Japanese onsen (natural hot-spring bath), infirmary, and much more.   The base has powerful automated defenses designed to delete unwanted trespassers instantaneously.  A Defenders ID is needed to activate or deactivate said defenses, particularly the base is on high-alert.

Data Compiler -  An illegal device that can clone Digimon or fuse data from multiple Digimon into a new one.  It is extremely dangerous due to its potential for creating powerful and dangerous new forms of Digital Life…
