Was that Applejack making those weird noises?
Apple Bloom, or rather Superfilly, slowly opened her eyes, finding herself lying on a hard floor of a white, featureless room. A sense of displacement unnerved her, as she could not recall falling asleep. It did not take long for her to get her bearings once she saw her big sister.
Supermare was on her knees, hunched over with both hands around her neck. Superfilly watched her sister tug repeatedly on a ring of black leather wrapped around her throat.
The young super heroine recognized it at once—a caribou slave collar!
In that instant, Superfilly remembered the fight with the caribou in the bodysuit made of kryptonite latex, even though this Equestria shouldn’t have had any kryptonite on it. She remembered watching Supermare wrestle with the buck, and getting a face full of kryptonite gas when she tried to help. Her memory had gone blank after that.
“No, sis!”
Supermare grunted, still desperately attempting to pry off her slave collar.
When she spoke, Superfilly felt the pressure around her own throat, and quickly put her hands over her own seamless slave collar!
Fear gripped her. She tried pushing her fingers between the smooth leather and her neck, but the collar was just tight enough to prevent her from hooking her fingers in fully. With what little she could grab, Superfilly pulled hard on her collar.
It wouldn’t budge. She barely felt any strength in her hands, but she tried again, arching her back and pushing out her chest, which was still covered by the symbol of hope and salvation that so many slaves had turned to for help. Now she was the one desperate for help.
With her elbows pointing up, Superfilly pulled with all the strength she could muster, but it was not enough.
“Hnnh so tight… aahh I can’t take it off…”
Superfilly pulled harder, but the slave collar would not break. She turned to her sister again, who was still hunched over, her muscles bulging with desperate effort.
“Collars… laced with kryptonite…” Supermare groaned as she turned her head, eyes faintly glowing red in an effort to use her heat vision. The small glow faded fast, and Superfilly watched in horror as the look of anger and determination on Supermare’s face changed to a look of exhaustion.
“Gah… hnngh… getting weaker…”
Superfilly felt it too. Her super strength was already mostly gone, being leeched away by the tight slave collar that wouldn’t come off. It was taking all her effort just to keep pulling. She couldn’t give up; they couldn’t give up! If they lost their powers, they would end up just like the slaves they had been rescuing.
They kept trying, their bodies twisting and turning as they used all their remaining strength. The small room filled with Superfilly’s weak whimpers and Supermare’s tired groans. Their muscles swelled and shined from the sweat of their brave efforts, until both of them fell to their sides from exhaustion, defeated.
