The short story below was written by me.\n\nThe golden knight had always been a proud, but arrogant man. He was always looking for a monster to slay, a way to make himself the center of attention. Did he do good things? Sure, but only ever for himself. All that would change one day however, when he took his attitude too far with the wrong guy and experienced a defeat he will never recover from. \n\nThat day was when he met a group of Ogres, but these guys were completely friendly to humans that would listen, enjoyed their company even. After all, what's the point of attacking people who are so tiny? They can't really do any damage to the Ogres, so trying to befriend them was the better option. These guys were truly huge, 12 feet tall at the minimum, and wider than the widest of tree trunks. Their most striking feature was their navel, wide enough and deep enough to easily fit a human inside, and humans would always be given a close up view of these bellybuttons, as it loomed over them while they talked to the Ogres. At times the humans would wonder, has anyone ever fallen inside there? \n\nThis view for the humans was always guaranteed, since the big guys preferred to be shirtless all the time, partly because of all the sweaty manual labour they offer to do for humans. They would lift so much at a time, and work much faster than one human ever could, so they earned a lot of money from it. This is how the golden knight first encountered them, he spotted one carrying lumber and other building materials, immediately assuming that he was a giant thief. He followed him to a small town where he saw a whole gang of them, believing that they were terrorising the townfolk, he ran at what looked like the leader with his sword, slashing and poking. \n\nIt did little else than annoy the Ogre, the sword simply bouncing off all his powerful muscle and fat, he plucked the weapon from the knight's hand and explained the situation to him calmly before handing him his sword back, with townsfolk joining in to support the Ogre's story. Now if an honourable man made a mistake such as this, he would simply acknowledge it and apologise, try to make amends, but this mistake embarrassed the knight, and when he gets embarrassed he simply doubles down, he can't be wrong of course. He starts hurling offensive insults and threats at the Ogre, saying they are not welcome in human lands, he says he'll come back with more knights to drive them off. \n\nThe Ogre tries to stay diplomatic, asking the knight to relax and offers him his hospitality, but then the knight even threatens the townsfolk, saying he'll bring them to justice for harbouring foul beasts. That's what made the Ogre lose his patience, these townsfolk are innocent, they've been nothing but kind to him and his men. He almost wanted to smash and destroy the knight there and then, but that would just create conflict between humans and Ogres, exactly what the knight wanted. Instead, the Ogre decided to give him a far more fitting punishment, a lesson he would never forget. He casually picked up the knight in his hand, looked at him with a smug grin, and pushed him into his bellybutton feet first, stopping when the knight was about waist deep, one of his arms stuck at his side. \n\nHis other arm that held the sword swung widly, but he couldn't hit anything in this position. He shouted and demanded the Ogre let him go, trying to retain his confidence, until he saw the crowd of humans and Ogres alike gathering to stare at him. Suddenly he felt a pulling, sucking sensation, almost as if the bellybutton was trying to swallow him, and it was succeeding. He was beginning to sink further in, the sweaty skin of the Ogre making it even easier for him to slip in. As the crowd began to laugh at him and his situation, his demands turned into desperation, as he realised the thing he valued more than anything was about to be destroyed, his reputation. He would rather be slain in battle than be humiliated like this. \n\nHe pleaded with the Ogre and apologised as his face turned bright red, but the Ogre simply smiled and assured him that he's not going to hurt him, he just needs to learn this lesson, and he's going to be in there for quite a while. As his humiliated, defeated face disappeared into the darkness of the deep bellybutton, all that remained was his arm and his sword sticking out, until he dropped that and it clattered to the ground. The last the crowd saw of him was his wiggling hand, trying to grab onto something, anything, before it was fully enveloped by the powerful navel.
