Thieves Chapter 18 - Fox in Training Eventually, they had decided, over the course of the day, that letting the horse carry all the luggage and leading it by the reins was faster than riding it. Not to mention that Jack had no plan on how to make it move left or right. It was nice for Sis to not have to bear the weight of his backpack for the entire day. Still he was really exhausted at the end of the day's march. Now they were both lying in the tent, covered in a bunch of warm pelts. Between them stood a lit candle that spent some light in the otherwise dark tent. It was one of those that Jack had nicked from one of the places they had stayed in. Sis just lay there, resting his legs, thinking. Jack had pulled out his book again. Resting on his back, he held it over his face to read. They had to settle down earlier today, due to heavy snowfall. Jack had said, that it could easily become a snowstorm later. The two also refrained from starting a fire. Should it come down really badly tonight, the warmth would melt the fresh snow and turn the camp into a giant mud hole. Because of that they couldn't cook the fresh meat they still had, so dinner consisted mostly of the fruits Jack had bought, along with some bread. Slightly bored and not willing to think about the day's events, the fox looked to the side, watching Jack read for a moment. "What happens in the story?" he asked, pulling the human from his read. Jack peered over to him, the book still hovering over his face. "You're welcome to read it, if you like," he offered. The fox was silent for a moment. "You can't read?" Jack suspected. It was not unusual for slaves to be unable to read or write, around this region, he thought. "Not that well," Sis admitted. He'd been taught a few things, when he was still with his mother, though, in the wild life you rarely use written words. Jack put the book down on his chest, "Well, the wolf, I've told you about, still is on his way for the capital and, just by chance, I am at a very interesting point," Then he bought up the book again and started reading aloud, "...his breath hung hot in the night air and the wolf shuddered. The giant black cat that laid atop him, pressing down on him, dug his claws into the grey fur of his shoulders and scratched the skin underneath. His partner was so big, so strong, he couldn't even stop him if he wanted. Readily, he pulled his pants down for him, seeing the glimmer in the feline's eyes. The cat had gotten rid of his clothes long ago. A deep, roaring snarl rumbled through his black chest, or, was it a purr? He couldn't hold onto himself for any longer. Eagerly the traveler reached down between the massive legs of this cat, firmly encircling his enormous, barbed me-" "Oh god, please stop already!" interrupted Sis him. "That disgusting stuff is definitely not the sort of material I'd consider reading, even if I could." He grimaced wildly to emphasize his statement, though, Jack couldn't really believe him. "Well," the human said, "this sort of literature isn't everyone's taste." He went on reading in silence, still smiling the whole time. Sis kept his eyes on Jack. There was something that has gnawed at him for some time now, but he never found the right way to ask. "W-why...." Sis began, but stopped again, unsure of how to ask and if he should at all. Hell why would he even want to know? Jack paused his reading again, turning his attention to the fox. "What is it, foxy?" Oh great, now he isn't going to let it go, until he'd asked, Sis thought. Just get it done with. "Why... do you actually... prefer... males?" he asked at length. Damn, did he really sound as insecure as he thought he did? "What do you mean?" Jack asked, suddenly very interested in the conversation. The fox fumbled for the right words, "I mean why... ...do you do it? Don't human girls like you? Are you too ugly for them, or what?" He chuckled, "I assure you, I'd have no problem picking up a girl, if I wanted." "Then, why don't you do it?" Jack closed the book and put it aside. "Because I don't want to," he explained with much less modesty than the fox dared to ask. "I neither like the company of girls, nor of humans, in that regard." He put his hand on Sis' chest and worked his fingers through his white fur. The fox let him, for the moment. "I told you, I'm all for the little, fluffy guys." "Why?" The human shrugged, "It's just a personal penchant." "But, don't you ever want a family?" Sis questioned. "Kids? A wife? Settle down somewhere?" Jack laughed out, "Haha, Me and kids? Damn, I'd be a bad influence!" Right he was, Sis thought. "No, foxy. That was actually the reason why I had to leave my family." Sis thought back, "I thought you said something about having trouble with a family member?" He laughed again, "A certain family's member was involved, yes." Suddenly, realization struck the fox, "Wait. You don't mean you...." "Yup." The fox slowly began to recall the conversation, "You mean you... and your brother...?" Jack nodded, "Yeah. We had something going on and our father caught us. Man, that was awkward," he smiled, remembering the incident. "After that he thought it would be best to separate us, and since I wasn't his son by birth, it was me who had to go." Sis shook slowly his head, "I already know you're a pervert, but with your own brother?" "Ah," Jack waved. "We weren't even related by blood. Hell, we weren't even the same species, to begin with!" He turned on his side and looked at Sis. "But you're probably right. It might have been for the best. I mean look at me now," he said, pointing to himself. "I'm free to go wherever I want, I get to see the world, meet all kinds of curious people, I can get anything I desire and right now I'm enjoying your muchly esteemed company. I've made it quite far, I'd say." Sis couldn't hold a laugh, "Yeah, sittin' in an old, niffy tent in the middle of nowhere, freezin' your ass off with a runaway slave you've picked up on the way. That's what I call living!" "Yeah! Exactly that's what I'm doin'," Jack spoke, laughing full-hearted. The fact that he wasn't just messing around, but also meant part of what he said, didn't went unnoticed by Sis. Suddenly Jack pushed himself up on his elbow and looked down the fox beside him, wearing that horrible grin Sis knew all too well by now. "Since we're already pillow talking...," Jack said, looming over Sis. "You've had your questions, foxy. Now it's my turn." He came further down to Sis and his grin widened. Then he asked him, totally unashamed, "Have you ever kissed a man?" "No!" Sis answered confident, fidgeting on the pelt covered ground. Jack bent even farther down, directly in front of the fox's face. Sis had nowhere to go. "Do you want to?" THIS CHAPTER WAS CENSORED! SEE DESCRIPTION FOR MORE INFOS!
