This helped show them that yes, their lives were -really- in danger, even if it was just an illusion. Dawn and Nelen had been dodging Franklin's kill teams for ages, though Nelen would usually use trickery and escape rather than send back corpses since he'd often be outnumbered and Dawn had lost her family to Franklin, so they knew for a fact what a threat he was. \n\nThis is where I feel the story really took off and became more than just a 'for shits and giggles' thing. This wasn't a giggling madman like Paale or a bumbling moron like Travis or even a faceless assassin like Jacob. This was nothing but a stone cold killer facing them, even if they found out that it wasn't real after the fact, and the girls had to figure out how to use their magic together -or else-. \n\nIts also where Simoni cemented her place in India with her adopted culture. She lost her raven-form and traded it for a garuda-like aspect, still retaining a touch of her old self at the same time to show that, while she was committed to being Simoni Barjar, she was still going to hold onto a bit of her past as Stephanie Fullmoon. He's clearly troubled by the appearance of the Sin-eater, worried that the next attack could be even worse. He's tasked Arja and Simoni with breaking through a barrier he conjures around himself using his blood magic, but no matter what the girls try nothing they can do even dents it. \n\nAfter a short break however, they re-enter the training hall and begin again... only to have Nelen suddenly drop dead to the floor as a tear in space opens in the back of the hall, the forces of Clan Fullmoon surging out of it. Franklin Fullmoon is standing behind Nelen, the Mundane Blade sticking through his grandson's torso, which he pulls out, allowing Nelen's body to fall to the floor as he gives the order to take the hall and kill everyone inside. \n\nDawn dives down at him, getting impaled on the sword and devoured by it, as Arja tries to join her family while Simoni stares in shock at Nelen's body. Arja runs back to her, trying to shake her out of it as Simoni's magic begins to go haywire, causing a massive tornado to appear around her body, when Arja hears Nelen's voice. \n\n[i]\"Its do or die time Arja. You can get one shot now, conjure your fire and learn how to use it with Simoni's wind or else all is lost.\"[/i]\n\nArja conjures her flames, letting the tornado sweep them up, as the winds enhance and strengthen them. Feeling her magic mixed with her own snaps Simoni out of her panic attack, the girl glaring at Franklin before ducking under Arja and lifting her up onto her back, shooting up into the air as she constrains her tornado, the fire and wind taking on the shape of a gigantic bird. She tells Arja to make a flame in her hands, then lets out a screech akin to an eagle or hawk, the flame lengthening into a trident before the two dive bomb Franklin. The aging warrior tries to block the attack with his sword, but the immense degree of magical energy seems to be keeping it from absorbing the spell... until the girls hear Nelen yelling again, \n\n[i]Simoni folds her wings as she dives from the ceiling at the elderly man. He holds the sword infront of him, but against this power it seems like it simply won't work. The flames build higher and higher, until the space between the sword and the spear is white hot, almost blinding... suddenly they hear as if from a long ways away, \"Dawn! What the hell are they seeing?! Cut the illusion dammit!\"... and then the spear explodes and sends Franklin flying backwards, crashing through the doors of the training hall. \n\n... and then suddenly the word \"GAME!\" appears in the air, their vision showing you an image of a TV screen with two Mii verisons of them on it as the announcer says \"This game's winner is... Red team!\" before it vanishes completely and they're back in the hall, everyone both fully alive and staring at the two of them. Dawn is whooping it up in the rafters, shouting \"That was AWESOME!\" and Nelen is nowhere to be seen... though the fact that the training hall doors are gone... and the wall behind them... and the wall behind that one... may have a hint as to where he went. \"... what just happened...\" asks Simoni, noticing how hard Dawn is laughing.[/i]\n\n... Deal with it. \n\nAfter they succeed in blasting Nelen halfway across the temple and realizing that they'd only seen a vision of Clan Fullmoon laying siege, courtesy of Dawn's Wonderland Eyes, they discover that channeling such a huge degree of magic has changed them. Simoni's feathers are now bright green with black tips, her talons larger with golden claws (though the rest is still black), and her eyes have become green again. Arja, on the other hand, now has gold fur streaked with red, her claws and teeth resembling silvery metal. \n\n[i]\"There are many ways to enlightenment, girls, some of us sit in meditation for years until the gods reveal their secrets to us...and some of us take actions so bold it requires the attentions of the gods...\" - Arja's Grandfather, upon their success[/i]\n\nAfterwards Arja takes her back to the house to 'burn off some energy', both girls feeling very charged up after that massive surge of magic. \n\nSimoni is curious about whether or not the magical surge was felt by anyone (unaware that Natasha is currently curled up in the corner with what feels like the mother of all migraines back in the harem quarters), while Arja says that if there's any assassins left around they definitely felt it. \n\nDuring some *ahem* stress release for Simoni and Arja, Nelen meets up with Natasha in the harem quarters and tells her that Arja's father has decided they need a vacation, not just some diplomatic mission.
