Simoni then spots four men, taller than any of the others in the square and with their faces hidden by thick wraps. \n\nArja attempted to lead Simoni into a more crowded area, gambling that the men wouldn't try attacking them if there were witnesses... but in response to this one of the men threw a flashbang over the crowd, the explosion panicking the people and causing them to scatter. Arja and Simoni immediately prepared themselves for a fight, transforming into their more animal-like forms, but the four men proved to be more than a match, knocking the girls around before freezing Arja to the ground with a trinket blessed by the Irish God of the Sea, Lir. \n\nSimoni tried to protect Arja, saying that if they didn't hurt her she'd return to Ireland with them... to which the men simply replied, \"We're not rescuers girl...\" and moved as if to strike both of them down in one sweep of their swords. As they did a sudden crash drew their attention behind them as a lone man stepped into view. He childed them, saying that it was funny that Clan Fullmoon had to send four men to take down two girls, and while the men's attention was focused on him a girl with feline features appeared behind them as if from thin air and darted between the four, dragging her claws along their bodies. \n\nWhile they were distracted Arja breathed fire onto their backs, managing to catch one in a gap in his armor. The others moved to help their comrade, but two of them fell to the ground and started vomiting as if stricken with some horrible disease. To his credit the last one stood his ground, but the newcomer got him in the eyes with his magic, causing him to collapse covered in lesions. After the fight their rescuers introduced themselves as Nelen Fullmoon, Simoni's older brother who had been exiled from the clan for learning blood magic, and Dawn, a Cheshire cat who travels with him. \n\nAfter making an escape to the Monkey King Temple they met with Arja's grandfather and Nelen explained the situation. \n\nIt turns out that Franklin had never intended to rescue Simoni at all, not because he wanted her to be in some sort of child slavery ring, but because he honestly didn't give a damn. The only reason he sent Terrance was because Simoni's mother wouldn't stop begging him to help. He was perfectly fine with letting Terrance fail and leaving his granddaughter to her fate... but then Terrance returned covered in dried mud and telling them how two girls beat him up. At the description of Arja, Franklin's interest changed. Suddenly, orders weren't to rescue 'Stephanie'. He wanted them both dead. \n\n[i]\"He didn't even -want- to rescue me? I mean, I don't want to be 'rescued' but... still...\" pouted Simoni. \n\n\"Sis... c'mon. He sent Terrance. You don't send him on an important mission unless you want him to stand infront of who's doing the important bit and tank up the bullets.\" replied Nelen.[/i]\n\nArja's is ready for war, but Nelen is troubled. Franklin has always had a very hands on approach to dealing with problems. In his mind he shouldn't have sent assassins if he was this worried, he should've shown up himself. Something about Arja and Simoni being together has him scared, but Nelen has no idea why. He advises caution, wanting to see if he can't figure out how to stop Franklin's anti-magic trick from working before any real warfare. \n\nArja took Simoni and barged into the Garuda roost, demanding an audience with the matron. She insisted on a scry, wanting to see if they could find out the secret to Franklin's power, and were given a vision of the moment he took control of Clan Fullmoon and the final words of their former matriarch. \n\n\n[i]\"When a daughter from the west rejoins our cousins from the east, its gluttony will be your undoing\". - Dying words of the last Fullmoon Matriarch\n[/i]\n\nImmediately following this Arja insisted on contacting Franklin Fullmoon directly via a magical fire in the temple, connecting her to his fireplace in Ireland. Simoni was very reluctant to do so, but in the end Arja convinced her and she, along with Nelen and Dawn, made contact. Arja's plan was to try to lure Franklin into coming to India in person, in the hopes that he would be somehow weakened fighting them on their home turf, but Franklin refused to take the bait, instead suggesting \"If my own boys are having trouble, I may have to outsource...\" before cutting the connection violently, causing the fire pit to explode. \n\nAfter this several pieces fall into place and Nelen has a distrubing revelation about Franklin's power. The sword wounds they saw on the matriarch, the fact that he literally 'cut' the connection, and the reference to 'its gluttony' all seem to point to one weapon. A Mundane Blade, or the Kris of Shiva as it's called in India. The weapon is designed to tear away at a magic user's soul, destroying the part that allows them to use magic of any sort. To make things worse, purely magical beings are literally eaten by the sword, their physical bodies destroyed without a trace. \n\nArja rallies her family, ensuring that they don't succumb to fear at the name of the weapon. \n\n\n[i]\"Fear has no place in our hearts! We are the warriors of the gods! We guard secrets so ancient the gods themselves have forgotten them! We stand against the horde of evil and protect this land! Are we going to let some Irish old fool come in with his magic sword and impose his will? Simoni is one of us now!
