"writing": "Nathai lay alongside Saeska’s shivering body within Akinlana’s personal den. He kept his paws tight around her, holding her from behind he could feel every quiver. Akinlana lay, gazing at them with his blind eyes as he bathed his paw, listening to the subtle sounds she squeaked with the roar of the crowed in the other room. The main chamber was packed; many were inside eating away at the fresh dinner brought in by the hunters. The voices sounded joyous, chatting about the day’s events, hopeful relationships and training. Conversations blended at times, a voice overlapping another but fragments came through. Occasionally they would mention Nathari’s name briefly, before the chatter could swallow up that conversation as well. \n“Nathari?” Akinlana said softly, finishing his bath. \n“Yes master?” He asked shyly, glancing up from Saeska’s body. \n“Why don’t you join the others for a while? I can tend to my granddaughter for a few if you like.” He suggested. Nathari shook his head, settling it back down on hers as he gently stroked her quivering body. \n“No, I’m sorry master. I wanna be with her, keep her warm.” \n“I thought I heard her shivering.” He nodded. “The noise in the other room, douses my senses at times. Boy, call for Varika.”\n“Yes master.” He nodded, gradually releasing Saeska from his grasp. He rushed out, peeking within a den across the hall. Varika sat in the corner, mixing something within a bowl. “Varika? Master Akinlana, wants you.”\n“Oh? I’m on my way boy.” She placed the bowl at her feet and bounded to his side, she came to Akinlana’s side and settled near, leaning in. “Yes my lord, what would you like?” \n“Hello dear, back in the den, do we still have those hides? The ones you used to wrap me up in during the cold nights?” He questioned softly. She nodded eagerly, placing her hand on his shoulder.\n“Of course my lord, you feel a chill?” \n“Oh no, I’m quite fine, but my poor granddaughter there is chilled quite badly. She has been trembling in Nathari’s arms.” He quickly explained.\n“Oh! Of course, I’ll be right back boy, you just keep her warm.” She insisted, turning to Nathari and pushing him back down alongside her. \n“Thank you.” Nathari smiled, regaining his grip on her. Within moments she returned, hauling over her shoulder a large dark brown hide. Throwing it down, she pat out a little dust that had collected and had him move her over a little. Placing it on the ground, she let it span out as a means for her to rest on while she ran off to grab another to cover their bodies. She brought yet another, following a similar routine and placed it over Saeska’s chest, tucking it between her and Nathari’s body, it was able to cover down to her waist. She smiled at her work, patting Saeska’s head she giggled. \n“You’ll be right as rain soon my girl.” \n“Any idea what’s wrong with her?” Nathari asked urgently. \n“Oh, yes I have noticed a few things. She’s not sniffling or sneezing or coughing, so the more common illness I can rule out.” She explained, hopping over to Nathari. “She uh, comes from a warmer land, yes?” She asked with a smile. \n“We sleep in pride rock in the Pride Lands, it’s really warm.”\n“Ahh yes. She hasn’t adjusted to the temperature changes here. The nights are much colder then the Pride Lands. Her fever will settle, but I have a few things I’ll get her to eat when she wakes that will accelerate the process.” \n“Good, so it’s nothing serious.” He sighed in relief. \n“No, she’ll be quite fine.” She assured him, patting Saeska’s belly. Nathari smiled, cuddling her warming body close to his. He hardly noticed Paro peeking in the room. \n“Hey, bro you still up?” He called. Nathari turned and eagerly nodded. \n“What’s up brother?” Paro gave a quick nod to Varika and walked inside, setting a spot near his brother. \n“How’s the girl holdin up?” \n“She’s good. Shivering a little, but that’s why we got the furs.” He explained. \n“Yeah, sounds good. Listen uh, moms out there. She’s talking up the crowd about me again. I don’t think anyone’s even told her your back.” \n“Like she would care.” He sighed. \n“Maybe, maybe not. Mom wasn’t really too fond of you.” Paro confessed. \n“Paro.” Akinlana moaned, shaking his head. “It’s nothing you tell the boy.” \n“No, it’s ok master.” Nathari interjected. “Kinda already knew it.” Akinlana gave a soft grunt and lowered his head back down. \n“Want me to let her know though, Nath? I mean, I don’t know. She should know you’re at least alive.” He decided on the spot. \n“Tomorrow, maybe.” Nathari hesitantly agreed. “But there’s some things I want to discuss about home first.” \n“Home? What do you mean?” Paro questioned, leaning a little closer to his brother. \n“The Pride Lands. I want to know what we can do.” \n“Nathari.” Akinlana spoke up once more. “Tomorrow I will speak with my sons and decide on what action to take. Nariku may argue we are spread thin lately with the hostilities we’ve seen but. I will not stand by, and watch my own grandchild tear an entire kingdom apart just to get at his father.” \n“Good, the sooner the better.” Nathari agreed, resting his head alongside Saeska’s. \n“Nath?” Paro asked, Nathari gave a slight nod in response. “I want to go with you, see these Pride Lands for myself.” \n“Yeah?” Nathari smiled, lifting his head a little. \n“So long as it’s ok with you, master?” Paro asked, turning to him. Akinlana briefly opened his eyes and gave his approval. Paro tapped his brothers back, breathing a small laugh. “I wanna meet your new mom and dad, bro. See what it’s like on the grassier side of the world.” \n“You’ll love it brother, I can’t wait to show you it.” \n“Nathari…” Saeska moaned, starting to stir awake she nuzzled against him, letting a small chatter escape her teeth. \n“What is it?” He spoke gently, leaning down to her ear. \n“I’m, really thirsty.” Nathari gave her neck a tender lick. \n“I got it baby.” He whispered once more. \n“Nah, I got it.” Paro interrupted. “You keep your girl all cozy, I’ll see what I can do about some water for ya.” \n“Thanks Paro.” Nathari praised, resting his head once more. Paro bounded out of the room to retrieve the water while Nathari took care to tend to his sick lover. \n\nWith the dark concealing their bodies, Kopa and Kovu began to move on the southern border, hunting for any sign of Ghavrah or Ezeamaka. They cut through the savannah easily enough and leapt over the river. Descending a shallow hill, they met a grizzly sight. Once again, carcasses of animals were strewn about. Legs and horns, heads and flesh covered bones littered the area. Kovu took a count in his head as they passed the wreckage of wild life. \n“Looks like around four antelope and three zebras.” \n“They took almost one to each of them.” Kopa stated, nearly tripping over one of the bodies. He looked down on the torn open ribcage; his tongue flew out as he gagged. “Like they hardly even tried to eat, what a waste.” \n“Kopa!” Kovu shouted in a hushed voice. “Come on!” Kopa followed behind him, leading out of the Pride Lands. They crept there way over to the camp Ezeamaka had taken to, sneaking in behind the tree. Kovu peeked out, doing a quick head count. “Only five.” He whispered, puzzled as to where the others could be. \n“Five? There should be seven with Endail back at Pride Rock right?” \n“I don’t see him.” Kovu stammered lightly, looking the bodies back over. “Either of them.” \n“Where could they have gone?” Kopa asked urgently, his eyes darting off in every direction, frantically searching for the two. But with no sign of either, he looked to Kovu. “We have to get moving then. Without them here, this plans a wash Kovu. We got to get home.” Kovu looked around, mimicking Kopa’s pattern before fuming and laying back to the ground. \n“Come on.” He whispered, leading Kopa back toward the Pride Lands. As they prowled through the grass, trying to get out of earshot of the five remaining lions it was clear Kovu was unhappy about the absence of the other two. They made it back home, seeing the hill up ahead they rose to their feet and started walking. “Can’t believe we missed them!” Kovu fumed, his head fixed on the ground. \n“We’ll get them Kovu, don’t worry. We’ll find a way to protect Amri.”\n“It’s not Amri I’m worried about.” He swiftly countered, planting himself on the ground. Kopa sat across from him, listening as he composed himself. “Vitani’s always been the strong one in our family. Even when we lived in the Outlands, she was such a rock. I’d come in after being bashed and bruised, and she’d remind me of what I had to look forward to. She made me feel strong, and to see those freaks take that away from her.” He shook his head, looking down. \n“Vitani will be alright Kovu. I might not remember everything about her, but what I do know is she grows stronger every time something challenges her. Today wasn’t any different.” Kopa consoled, raising his brothers chin. “Sides, she is pregnant. Could chalk a bit of it up to that?” He suggested with a smile. Kovu let one escape as well, letting Kopa’s paw settle back down. \n“Yeah, you’re probably right.” Kovu agreed. Kopa joined him in a brief laugh and gazed over Kovu’s shoulder. Off in the distance he could see two shadows moving, growing slowly closer and closer to them. \n“Oh no, Kovu!” He exclaimed, pointing off behind him. Kovu swung around and took to Kopa’s side with a low growl. They watched as the shadow grew closer, and a low laugh rush over the grass. \n“Well well, the two princes out here all alone.” Ezeamaka chuckled, unveiling himself. Ghavrah appeared beside him and sat down, looking the two over with a smile. Kovu started to rile his shoulders, flashing his fangs he growled. \n“Well, guess we get to put you down after all.” He threatened. Ezeamaka laughed alongside Ghavrah. \n“You two? Seriously?” Ezea questioned shaking his head. “Oh wow, I’ve heard of some stupid ideas in my time but you right there, take the fucking prize.” \n“Oh come now Ezea.” Ghavrah lightly argued. “Best not to take the soft-pawed princes too lightly. They might just shave your mane an inch or two.” \n“Joining me in the jokes, nice.” Ezea leaned in, whispering with a smile plastered on his face. \n“We are not going to let you take Amri.” Kopa shouted. “And I’m tired of you threatening our home and families. No wonder your mother died from sickness, I’m already sick of your putrid, disgusting muzzle and your whiney attitude.” Ezeamaka slowly looked to him, the smile vanishing form his face his eyes grew wild with rage. \n“Don’t you ever!-“ Ezeamaka shouted. \n“Talk about your mother? Thank the heavens she can’t see what a little bitch her son has become.” Kopa taunted once more. Ezeamaka roared, leaping at them but was caught by Ghavrah and held him back. \n“Compose yourself Ezea, that mouth is reminiscent of that walking lip in their pride.” He whispered. Ezeamaka snapped to him and briefly lowered his head, taking a deep breath he glared at Kopa and growled. \n“Alright then, Ghavrah, you deal with these two.\" Ezea ordered, taking a moment to calm himself down. Ghavrah looked to the two, a wicked smiling growing across his face as if they were little more than hapless prey, waiting for him. \"No, killing them. Yet.\" He added. Ghavrah snapped at him before looking back to the two. Kovu and Kopa watched him walk off, leaving them alone with the large, old lion. \n\"Alright boys, whose ready for their first lesson?\" He asked, glancing between the two. Kovu and Kopa readied for battle, lowering their bodies and riling up their shoulders. \n\"I'll take you now!\" Kovu shouted, lunging for Ghavrah. Gracefully he swung aside, leaving Kovu in shock that the old lion could move so swiftly. Ghavrah struck out across his chest, hurling Kovu to the ground. Kopa came in swinging; Ghavrah parried the strikes easily for the most part. He took a few shots for Kopa's face, but he blocked them just as well. Kovu was back on his feet, lunging in he interrupted the fight with Kopa and took a few of his own swings for Ghavrah. As he brought down a paw, aimed for Kovu's face he deflected it away, exposing his chest Kovu took a shot to his ribs and struck his chin with another blow. Ghavrah backed off, wiping his lip and checked for blood. \n\"Good boys, good. I did hope you wouldn't just lay down and die.\" He complimented, taking to his calm posture again. Kovu started to circle around behind him while Kopa kept his focus up front. Ghavrah noted him passing behind him and watched Kopa attentively. As Kovu rushed in, Ghavrah kicked out and shot him hard in the chest. Kopa lunged for Ghavrah and got caught in his grasp. Grappling the old lion picked him up and tossed him aside like a doll, rolling over and over Kopa slammed the ground to regain control and swiftly rise to his feet. Ghavrah was already on the charge for him; Kopa braced for impact and met him head on. The two shot up onto their hind legs, Ghavrahs weight was intense, he shifted so drastically from right to left Kopa could barely hold on. Falling back, he tried to flip him over, the trick he learned from his mother. Instead he found the ground, his legs firing off to either side. Ghavrah had wriggled himself loose in the fall, and now Kopa found himself nearly at his mercy. Kovu tackled him from the side, taking Ghavrah to the ground he pinned him for a moment. \nKovu wrestled with him for a few moments, struggling to sink his teeth into the old lion’s throat. Ghavrah was kicking him off, enough to get Kovu's hind legs off of him. Kopa rushed in to get them under control, grasping his legs; he tried to put his weight on them, to give Kovu any advantage against him. Ghavrah growled, in a burst of anger, he shoved his paw into Kovu's mouth, gagging him and disorienting him. He took a shot across his face and threw him on the ground, Kovu coughed over and over, while Kopa lost control of his legs, taking a stray shot to the face as well, cutting his cheek down to the muzzle.\nGhavrah turned on Kovu, rushing to him he threw him up on his hind legs. Holding him up, he smiled glaring into his eyes. Kovu was bewildered, unmoving. Ghavrah grasped under his arms, hoisting him up slightly he slammed Kovu's face to the ground. Winding up he took a shot across the back of his head, spinning him over onto his back. Kovu cried out in agony, his eyes shut tight, starting to tear as his nose took the brunt of the fall. Kopa rejoined the fight, swinging for Ghavrah's face once more. Ghavrah blocked the first few before taking Kopa up as well. \nThis time he was ready. Grasping his head, Kopa spun him, twisting Ghavrahs body to the ground, a move he had seen Amri do quite often. Kopa complimented it with another strike across the face, Ghavrah spat up, bawling from the blow. Kopa wound up another, as he did Ghavrah reached for his neck and dragged him to his jaws and snapped down at the top of his neck. Kopa's jaw was snared, just below his ear, he could feel the teeth sinking in, the pressure building up. The pain was incredible. It was overwhelming him; he could feel the trickles of blood leaking from the wounds. He was losing consciousness, the fight falling away from him. Kovu came in to rescue his brother, giving him a punishing blow to the belly Ghavrah set him loose with a howl of pain. Kopa staggered around, his feet failing him he fell to the ground. \nKovu tried to pin the old lion once again. Straddling across his belly he started to barrage the old lions face. \n\"Enough!!\" Ghavrah shouted, catching one of Kovu's blows he blew an incredible shot across his face. Kovu saw stars from this strike, even a ringing in his ears began to hum. In another swift blow, he kicked across Kovu's stomach, his claws extended, he sliced his belly wide. Kovu gasped at the feel, the moment began to slow for him. Falling to the ground he watched as Ghavrah rose up, standing over him. Kovu could hear his own breath, his heart racing; he knew he was badly wounded. He watched the cold stare of the old lion above him. Ghavrah lunged down, snagging his muzzle and turned it to Kopa. \"Look upon your kin, Pride Lander, and look well. Soon, you will all die at my feet.\" He warned, tossing his muzzle back down. \"Ezeamaka asked me not to kill you. But you will die of that wound, rest assured boy. Be thankful, you perish before I rip the head off your tit-sucking cub before your eyes.\" \nGhavrah walked away, heading back towards the southern border. Kopa slowly rose to his feet, dizzy and exhausted; he could feel the blood trickling down his face, dripping on the ground. Looking over to Kovu, he shuddered in horror. His heart began to pound, as his clarity returned, realizing the danger he was in. \n\"Kovu, oh no!\" He cried out, rushing to his side. He looked to his brother's face, then to the wound on his belly. Blood was seeping out, dripping on the ground. A small protrusion of his innards showed as well. Kopa pressed on the wound, causing Kovu to cry out in agony. The mangled flesh concealed his organs once more, but there was no doubt, without immediate attention, Kovu was dying. \"Kovu you hang on, ok!? Just stay with me!\" Kopa shouted, shaking Kovu's face. He could barely concentrate on Kopa’s panicked face as he struggled to stay conscious. Kopa took himself under Kovu’s arm, and slowly moved his weight onto his back. “Keep a tight grip with your legs, don’t let that wound get any wider, you got it?” Kopa ordered, Kovu softly huffed gripping Kopa’s sides with his legs quite tightly. \nDashing off toward home, he did his best to be careful not to dump him off his back. Kovu was barely keeping himself conscious enough to grip, and the threat of falling off and worsening his injuries was very real. Pride Rock was in ear shot, and wasting no time Kopa called for help.\n“Help!! Anyone!” At first no one seemed to answer, but calling out again as he reached the base of the ramp snared the attention he desired. \n“Kopa? What’s wrong?!” Simba cried out, rushing for the entrance to the den. Kopa met him there, taking Kovu passed him. The trail of blood leaking down his side was proof enough the night had gone horribly wrong. “Oh no, Kovu.” Simba breathed, taking to his side. \n“Kovu!” Kiara cried, rushing to her lover’s side. She aided Kopa in bringing him down to the ground and cradled his head in her paws. “Kovu, please speak to me.” She cried, stroking his head with her own. \n“Kiara.” He stammered, his breathing growing short. \n“Zazu! Get Rafiki now!” Simba bellowed, the shock of his voice alone sent Zazu in the air as he hastily left the den. Amri and Hakima joined the group now gather around Kovu and took a closer look at the wound. Amri saw the protrusion starting to form from his stomach and shook his head. \n“Boy you grit your teeth this is gonna hurt.” He warned. Pressing down on the wound, he felt the blood seep through his paws as Kovu cried out in agony. \n“Stop it your killing him!” Kiara protested. Hakima was quick to turn to her. \n“No child, Amri must put pressure on the wound or he my bleed out.” She insisted. Kiara watched her lover writhe in pain, panting and gasping in her arms. \n“Please hang on, Kovu.” She moaned, bracing her head against his. Dasha peaked out from the other lionesses, seeing his father on the ground, tended to by everyone. In a burst of fear, he leapt from them to his father’s side. \n“Daddy!!” \n“Dasha, no!” Amri shouted, but it was too late. To his horror he saw his father’s blood, the wounds edges behind Amri’s paw. \n“Daddy, what happened?” He whimpered, lowering down to the ground. Kopa scooped him up, taking him off from the sight. “No! Uncle Kopa put me down!” He protested. He struggled for a little and managed to wriggle himself free. Aurok and Stara rushed in to intercept him. \n“Cuzzy, wait!” Aurok barked, holding him down.\n“Dasha.” Kopa interrupted. “We’ll take good care of your daddy, he’s been hurt and we need to treat his wound ok?”\n“Kopa, let him come here.” Hakima ordered, gesturing to Kovu’s head. “Aurok, Stara, come as well, give your cousin some comfort here, he is frightened.” The boys crawled into Kiara’s arms, tucked in atop Kovu’s head. Dasha licked his father’s head, whimpering a little as the tears started to escape.\n“Daddy, are you gonna be ok?” He cried softly. Kovu struggled to answer, but couldn’t get the words out. In a shudder he struggled to keep himself awake. Kiara licked Dasha’s head, speaking on his father’s behalf. \n“Daddy will be ok; he just needs us to stay with him. Keep him warm.” She stammered as well, trying to keep her composure. Dasha leaned into his father’s head, crying while Aurok and Stara did their best to cuddle and comfort him. \n“He’ll be ok, Dashy.” Stara whispered, kissing Dasha’s neck. \n“We’re here for ya cuzzy.” Aurok chipped in as well. It took him some time, but Rafiki finally arrived with leaves and herbs in tow. Without hesitation he began to treat Kovu’s wounds while Kiara cradled the crying cubs in her arms. \n\nSimba sat atop Pride Rock alongside Kopa. He explained the night’s events, the fight with Ghavrah and of Kovu’s plan. Simba shook his head most of the time, greatly disappointed in their bullheaded plan to strike against them.\n“Kopa you should have known better!” He scolded lightly. \n“I’m sorry father. We knew they were strong, but it sounded like a good plan.” \n“Ghavrah you say is the one who did this? The old one?” Simba questioned once more. Kopa nodded and looked away briefly, trying to distance his eyes from his father. “That son of a bitch. Kopa, if Kovu doesn’t make it through this, I swear, uh-“ He interrupted himself, seeing Rafiki leave the den to join them. His head hung low as he hobbled to the top, settling down with a grunt. \n“How is he?” Kopa asked eagerly. \n“The boy might live. His chances are fair. Kiara must keep watch of him the whole of the night; if he stops breathing there will be little chance to save him.” He explained, glancing back inside. \n“Maybe I can help, Kiara won’t do well with staying up all night.” Kopa suggested, scratching his cheek with a flinch. Rafiki turned to him in surprised and grabbed his head, turning it and revealing the wounds on his face. \n“Boy, when did you get these?” He demanded. \n“Ghavrah bit me during the fight.” He replied, as Rafiki turned his head to and fro. In a huff he dashed back inside. Just as quickly he came out with a hollowed out fruit. Rubbing his fingers in it, he smeared the paste on Kopa’s wounds. \n“Ahh!!” he cried out, as a sharp stinging pain hit with every wipe on his face. \n“Don’t be a big baby.” He chuckled. \n“You didn’t tell me you got hurt, son.” Simba said softly, moving a little closer to his sons face. \n“Wasn’t bad.” He dismissed. “Just hurt while he had me in his jaws.” \n“There, should heal up well now.” Rafiki smiled, satisfied with his work. Simba looked out from atop Pride Rock onto his kingdom below. His heart was heavy, his concern grew for his family so much under the threat of these invasive monsters, that dare called themselves lions. He could feel anger, and fear brewing within him. He knew he had to deal with them now, or risk losing his lionesses and own kin to their fangs. Kopa sat beside him, resting a paw on his back; he was worried for his father. Simba looked to him, the pain brewing in his eyes, he pulled Kopa close and held him tight. \n“This battle has gone on long enough.” Simba stated, looking back out. \n“Father?” Kopa asked, intrigued by his father’s words.\n“First they invade our kingdom. Slaughter the game and mutilate it. Attack your adopted son, try to rape Saeska, preying on our hunters and now they may have murdered my son.” He growled, his voice growing louder and louder. “I will not tolerate this, anymore!” \n“What’s the plan dad?” \n“We start hunting in force. I want you, Asani, Amri everyone guarding the huntresses. Cut them off from any food they can get out here. I’ll give Nala and Vitani three days to prepare the girls. Amri may help to. After that, we raid there camp, and wipe them out.” \n“The entire kingdom?” Kopa asked in bewilderment. \n“I’ll leave two or three to guard our cubs and Kovu, but that is all. I will not tolerate this intimidation, this butcher and his band of murderers will die for what they have done!” Simba announced, slamming his foot down. \n“Boy, do not take their lives in anger!” Rafiki interjected. \n“I will not take the life of that old one myself, no. I won’t have revenge, but nor will I let them carry on with their plans. Kopa, inform Ni of our plans. Have him start preparations tomorrow to start hunting in force.” \n“You got it dad.” Kopa agreed eagerly. He darted for the entrance but paused just before to look back. “Dad, about tonight. I’m really sorry.” \n“I love you son, and I forgive you.” Simba smiled back to him. \n“I love you too, dad.” \n\nParo lay across from his brother, who was still fast asleep with Saeska in his arms. Reaching across he started tapping on Nathari’s head repeatedly, trying to coax him awake. \n“Comon sleepy head. Rise and shine.” Nathari moaned, but didn’t wake. Paro continued his barrage on Nathari’s head in futility a while longer, deciding on a more direct approach. Getting up he walked around to Nathari’s exposed tail, with a wicked grin he stepped directly on the tip. \n“YEEEOW!” Nathari hollered, nearly throwing Saeska off of him. The furs prevented this thankfully. Looking behind him he saw his brother on the floor laughing his head off. “Damn it Paro! Why’d you have to wake me up like that, I coulda hurt Saeska!” \n“Oh, lighten up little bro, you’ve been asleep almost all morning. Akinlana’s even out for his walk already.” He informed him, pointing to the vacant grass bed across the cave. Nathari gave it a quick glance but returned his attention to Saeska immediately. Rubbing her shoulder he tried to stir her awake. She moaned a little, tossing some of the furs off her as she started to wake. \n“Nathari?” She asked softly. \n“Yeah love?” \n“Can you grab me some breakfast please?” \n“Breakfast?” Paro asked, over hearing her. “Honey it’s in the hall here, I saved you two a little something.” \n“Thanks Paro.” Nathari smiled. “Want me to grab it for you?” \n“Please?” She smiled as well, rubbing his arm. \n“Oh no.” Paro interjected. “Nath comon, can’t have you two slumming around the dens all day.” \n“How are you feeling?” He asked. \n“Mm, head hurts but, not as icky feeling as I was.” She replied, struggling to her feet. Nathari let her use him as a crutch to get up. They slowly followed behind Paro, walking the hallway to the main chamber. Once there Paro gestured off towards the wall far to the right. Three antelope legs were piled together, waiting for them. \n“See, don’t your brother come through for ya?” Paro chuckled, walking toward the food. \n“Thank you, Paro.” Saeska said softly, heading toward the food. Nathari took a leg and pushed another toward her. Paro sat across and watched them eat for a bit. \n“Bro, aren’t you having the third one?” Nathari asked between gulps. \n“Nah nah, I already ate. I figured you two could split the third.” He explained. \n“There you are!” A voice called from the entrance. A lioness began to rush in aimed straight for Paro. He covered his face with his paw and sighed, shaking his head. “Oh come on now baby, who’s mommas great warrior!” \n“Mother, perhaps you can see I’m busy?” He argued. She continued to barrage her questions while Nathari simply stared a little slack jawed. Saeska giggled and bumped his backside with hers. \n“Close your mouth lover, you might catch flies.” She joked. \n“She doesn’t even notice me.” He whispered, lowering his head. \n“Shh.” She hushed, kissing his cheek. “Her loss.” \n“Mom!” Paro finally barked a little louder. “We have company, do you mind?” \n“Oh please, they’re eating let them be.” She dismissed, waving them off. \n“Don’t even recognize him, do you?” He questioned, flustered by her ignorance of Nathari right before her. \n“Now see, why do you always have to be so negative Paro? I flatter and flatter and all I get from you is just the nastiest-“ \n“Mom! Look at him.” He insisted, pointing to Nathari. She heaved a sigh and gave him a quick glance, huffing she turned back to Paro. \n“He’s cute, but it looks like he’s spoken for.” Paro just shook his head once again and looked to Nathari. \n“Should I even?” He asked Nathari. \n“Should you even what, what should you even Paro?” Nathari sighed as well, but gave his approval to tell her. \n“She deserves to know at least.” Nathari replied. \n“Know what?” \n“Mom. That’s Nathari, your son.” He stated firmly, pointing to her lost son. \n“What?” She wondered, glancing to him, her eyes squinting as she looked him over once more. “Oh Paro, Nathari died with Ezeamaka’s group a while ago.” \n“I survived, no thanks to him.” Nathari said, looking away from her. \n“Hey now young lion, do not go bad mouthing the bloodline of our king or we’ll have you out on your ass.” Rayyan retorted. \n“Mom, Ezeamaka tried to kill him. That girl there, her pride found him and saved his life.”\n“It’s true.” Saeska confirmed, staring Rayyan down unimpressed with her tone. She turned to Saeska and scowled. \n“Well I suppose as long as you say it, it must be true huh, outsider?” She scoffed. \n“She, is Prince Amri’s daughter.” Paro corrected. “Best not insult the bloodline of our king, mother.” He grinned, glancing briefly to the entrance.\n“Prince Amri.” She scoffed once more, rising to her feet, she started pacing the room. “Oh he’s a real prince isn’t he? Murders his brother then flees, abandoning his mate and son. Oh yes, I hardly have to insult that. He’s done quite a fine job making a fool of himself.” Saeska roared, lunging for Rayyan she pinned her to the ground, meeting her face with her fangs. \n“Don’t you ever! Talk about my father like that again, you bitch!” \n“Saeska!” Nariku called sitting at the entrance. “Get off of her.” Saeska fumed and resumed her place beside Nathari. \n“Thank you sire.” Rayyan bowed. \n“Be silent, harlot.” He curtly interrupted. “I heard what you said about my brother, not a word of it the truth. If I catch you speaking ill of my family or spreading such rumors you will be banished without a moment’s notice! Are we clear?!” Rayyan cowered a little at the thought and immediately apologized. \n“Yes sire, my apologies.” \n“Nathari, when you have finished eating come with me. Saeska, if you are feeling better you are welcome too.” Nariku instructed. \n“Yes sire, I’ll be there shortly.” Nathari replied with a short bow. Rayyan shot a look back to Nathari. She seemed in shock, she heard the king himself call him by name. \n“Nathari?” She stammered. \n“Rayyan, get out. You’ve wasted enough of their time today.” Nariku ordered. She darted to him and hung her head. She rushed out the door and avoided any eye contact with him. Nariku gave a brief nod to the others inside. “I’ll be right outside.” Paro smiled looking at the two. \n“You know, I almost hate to do that to her. But the way she treated you sometimes, psh. I just don’t give a fuck anymore.” \n“She mistreated you?” Saeska questioned. \n“Sort of.” Nathari confessed. \n“Nah, mistreated maybe isn’t the word. More like, forgot you even existed.” \n“Mother used to forget to bring me food. She’d get really mad if she had to go back out for me, so sometimes I hunted the lizards and stuff on the rocks. How I got good at climbing.” Nathari explained. \n“Like you had a choice. Was get food or die.” Paro threw in. \n“She’d bring me kills sometimes, but the rest of the time, she was really centered on the girls and Paro. If it wasn’t for him sharing his food when he could, I probably would have starved.” Saeska smiled looking to him, while Paro tried to hide his face in embarrassment. She rose to her feet once again, snagging his head she kissed it. \n“Thank you, for taking such good care of my goofy lover.” She chuckled. \n“Ah, no problem my lady. He’s a good kid, I couldn’t just let my brother starve like that.” He laughed as well. Saeska settled in and finished eating the last few bits of her breakfast along with Nathari. Giving a brief stretch and yawn, Nathari gave his brother a quick nod and headed toward the door. Outside Nariku was sitting, watching the rushing waters near the hall. \n“Sire!” Paro called out, bouncing over to him with a smile. \n“Ahh, Paro. Good to see you. Are you on patrols near Sana today?” He asked cheerfully. \n“No sir, reassigned by Master Akinlana, I’m to stay with my brother and assist with the Pride Lands incident.”\n“Oh so my father is overriding me now?” He laughed softly. Paro shied away a little, scratching his head. \n“Sorry my lord.” Nariku pat his head and smiled. \n“So, you two. This is my lovely niece is it?” Nariku asked, looking to Saeska. She came forward a little and bowed politely. \n“Pleasure to meet you my lord.” \n“Oh no you don’t. My girl, any son or daughter of my brothers may call me by name. Or uncle if you insist.” He suggested, giving her cheek a quick nuzzle. \n“Thanks uncle.” She giggled, watching him seat himself before them. \n“There are a million things I’d love to ask about Amri. It's no secret I miss my little brother. But I know this matter you have been sent on is more urgent right now, so let’s discuss.” \n“The short version uncle, is that Ezeamaka has attacked us in the Pride Lands.” She hid her face a little before she started again. “One of those attacks, was on me.” \n“Oh?” Nariku wondered, leaning in a little closer. \n“He tried to rape me just outside of Pride Rock.” Nariku closed his eyes, shaking his head in disappointment. \n“That cock sucker.” Paro said, not even realizing the insult escaped his lips. \n“I beg you are kidding, my girl.” Nariku questioned, his eyes still closed. \n“I’m sorry.” Seaska affirmed, hanging her head. Nariku took a long deep breath before unveiling his eyes. \n“What other atrocities has my nephew committed?” \n“He murdered Kamili.” Nathari spoke up. “Tried to murder me, abandoned his mission from Akinlana, to stalk the far north western plains for Amri. He’s recruited rogues along with Endail, Ghavrah and Tarok, and at any moment now, he’ll go for his father’s head and kill everyone in his way.” He explained as his voice escalated. \n“These are serious crimes boy.” Nariku grumbled to Nathari. “Saeska, my niece, is any of this the truth?” \n“It’s all the truth. Right now, we have a lot of males in our pride that can probably hold them off, but I don’t know for how long.” She replied. Nariku closed his eyes once more, thinking deeply on the situation. \n“If only my nephew was a little more patient, his timing could not be more atrocious.” He began, looking to Saeska. “You see, we have had recent hostilities with a few lions from the Fangclash pride, about two days travel south of us. Since then, we have had to toughen our borders and expand our patrols during the night. My son, Yari has been working the edge of southern Sana hills, I'm surprised you never bumped into him on your journey here. Our boys here are run ragged. Panthers from the nearby forest, rival males with the gall to strike at our lionesses, struggling to keep our hunting patterns balanced. We are stretched so very thin right now.”\n“Uncle, we must do something.” She pleaded. \n“Tomorrow I leave for Fangclash Bay. I’ll be meeting with the king and trying to strike a deal to end the hostilities. With our borders secure, I can spare a dozen lions and lionesses to aid you. But this would take a week at the very least.” \n“But that’s too long!” Saeska protested. “He’ll kill my daddy long before we can get there!” \n“We’d need the assistance right away. Leaving tomorrow morning would be the best.” Nathari insisted. \n“Boy, I have no one. Absolutely no one. Seventeen males live here not counting my family and while nine of them patrol the night, the other eight cover the day. Including your brother by the way, which means we are going to be short this afternoon.” Nariku explained in frustration. \n“Is there any hope?” Paro asked. \n“I’d go myself to see it done. Believe me; I have no quarrels with suspending that boy by his tail and whipping the foolishness from his backside. But my kingdoms needs must take precedence. I’m so very, very sorry. Talk with my father, perhaps there is a way that eludes me.” \n“Very well, my lord.” Nathari bowed, it was quite disappointing. He had hoped Nariku could have spared at least someone to come to their aid right away. \n“I’ll take my leave for now. Father will be back soon, head inside and await him.” He advised, giving the trio a brief bow. \n“Thank you sire.” Paro replied, returning the favor. Their heads hung low as the wondered back inside. Paro flopped to the ground as Nathari and Saeska rest side by side before him. \n“I’ll do all I can little brother. But I can’t beat Ezea or Ghavrah on my own.” Paro began to say, scratching his head. \n“I know.” Nathari agreed. “We’ll figure out something.”\n\nBack at home, Kovu continued to shiver in pain well into the morning. The audible groans and moans he loosed from the den could be heard outside from a fair distance away. Kiara could barely stay awake, her eyes looked so heavy and swollen. A combination of her crying and exhaustion were to blame. Vitani had assisted in tending to her wounded brother alongside Kopa. She sat near his head, stroking his mane while Kopa was passed out fast asleep, she had relieved him during the night. \n“Where are the cubs again?” Vitani asked, letting a yawn escape. \n“Mmm, there with Keyah. I couldn’t handle Dasha crying like that; it got me going so easily.” Kiara moaned, half awake. Vitani kissed her brothers neck and rested her head upon it. \n“Shh, Kovu. You made the night, you’ll be ok.” She whispered, stroking his arm. \n“Kinu, Sierra!” Ni called out, appearing in the entrance.\n“Yeah?” They answered in unison. \n“Gonna need you and Hakima to hunt today with Ysura. We’re rallying out front.” Kinu rose up quickly while Sierra took her time. Pausing for a moment before Vitani she leaned down for a kiss. Giving her lips a quick smack, Vitani pat her cheek and smiled. \n“Be careful lover girl.”\n“I got it.” Sierra grinned. “You rest that pretty little ass of yours, an take good care of your brother.” Vitani nodded in approval and watched the girls head outside. Sierra was met by Asani who walked with her out towards the others. Simba was pacing back and forth, eagerly awaiting the hunting crew, halting now and then to glance at Endail. Amri picked up on this, standing next to him and leaned in. \n“You sure you’re ok with this, nephew?” He asked softly. \n“I’m fine, Uncle. They just better realize I’m not going to hurt my cousin.” He insisted. Amri pat his back gently and nodded. \n“I understand.” \n“Alright listen up.” Simba began. “Hakima, Kinu and Sierra. I want you girls to keep to the usual pattern. According to Zazu, some of the prey have shifted further to the south east. It’s close to where those beasts are held up. Ni, Asani, you’re with me. Amri, Endail you stay as close to the girls as possible but remain out of sight. Ysura will lead a small squad to follow shortly after to relay back our kills and reinforce our numbers. Remember, our meeting place is the preys watering hole, if you get attacked, bring them there. Zazu will let us know and we’ll pin them in and kill whoever attacks.” Endail gave a small grunt, looking away from Simba. Simba’s gaze turned to him in disproval. “Problem?” He questioned harshly. \n“No..Sir.” He mockingly replied. \n“Good. Amri, keep a close eye on him.” Simba ordered. Amri brushed it off and followed him as the girls lead the charge to the hunting grounds. Running to the south east, Amri looked back to see Ysura forming up the second group behind them. He heaved a sigh, disappointed it had moved to such extreme measures, but he understood to a degree. He knew his son was growing evermore reckless in his endeavors into the Pride Lands. For now, he would have to settle for being there during any confrontation, in the hopes he could diffuse it. \n\nGhavrah and Theron moved cautiously through the grasslands. Heading north just out of sight of Pride Rock. Ghavrah had one place and one place alone in mind, the Elephant Graveyard. \n\"The Graveyard huh sir?\" Theron asked casually, keeping close to Ghavrahs lumbering body. \"My great lord, enlighten me on what you desire out of that place.\" Ghavrah gave a brief snarl as he snapped to Theron. Looking ahead once more he explained. \n\"There are stalagmites there, rock formations that come to a very fine point. I hope to find something usable.\" \n\"Stalagmites you say? Sir, you seem quite capable of handling yourself in a fight, what in the world do you need a weapon for?\" Theron questioned. \n\"Unlike my pupil, I do not gamble on fate in a battle. Skewering Simba through the heart with those will crush the Pridelanders spirits quite swiftly.\" He elaborated, passing into the first cave of the grave yard. \"Ahh yes, here we are.\" He stated with a smile, gazing up to the roof. \n\"I see my lord. Now the question becomes how to retrieve such a thing.\" \n\"The ones on the roof will not suffice you buffoon, we must search the formations here upon the ground.\" He corrected, looking on to the caverns further in. A wicked smile grew as he moved towards a more sulfurous smelling one, near the back end. The entrance was little more than a crack, and difficult to squeeze through. Pushing through with a huff he searched frantically inside, the smell of the sulfur rising from the den ahead was burning his nose. \n\"Ugh, this stench could kill on its own.\" Theron whined. \n\"Silence, and lighten your breathing.\" Ghavrah ordered. His eyes grew wide, finding in the corner a pinnacle he desired. \"There.\" He breathed in excitement, running his paw from the ground to the tip of the rock. \"Perfect, boy, find a solid stone. Now!\" He barked. Theron searched frantically, grabbing a fairly hefty rock. Tossing it him, it picked it up in his jaws, aimed at the very tip of the rock. Cracking it across, he halved it, creating a sharp point. With a laugh he spat up the rock, picking it up in his paw he smashed it near the middle of the stalagmite, snapping it off its thicker base. Ghavrah captured the fragment in his jaws before the ground could claim it, gently placing it down. \n\"Impressive sir.\" Theron complimented, coughing from the fumes. \"Can we go now please?\" \n\"Yes, this will do nicely.\" Ghavrah agreed, admiring the newly formed weapon. The rock fragment he had collected was just shy of three feet in length, the tip, sharpened by the snap he made with the first blow while the base was smooth and slanted. \"You see this boy?\" He laughed, picking it up in his jaws. He grazed the point across Theron's shoulder, splitting the skin and causing him to flinch. \n\"Ah!\" he cried out sharply. \"That thing-\"\n\"Come.\" Ghavrah managed to say, the rock gagging him lightly. \"We have little time.\"\n\nSaeska, Nathari and Paro awaited Akinlana’s call inside the hall. Nariku, Tasani and Khiros sat together, there mates not far off as they ate away at their evening meals. \n“Did you get to visit Jelani?” Paro asked, trying to strike up a conversation to break the boredom. \n“Yeah, I got to visit my uncle.” Saeska nodded briefly, looking back to the ground, her paw circling. \n“She’s been a little mopey since our talk with Nariku.” Nathari explained, glancing to the king. \n“Figured as much. We'll see what Akinlana has to say.\" \n\"What I have to say about what?\" Akinlana announced, entering inside. With a smile he walked with Varika as she guided him gently to the ground nearby. \n\"Nariku told us he won't have anyone to spare for about a week or so.\" Nathari answered him, hanging his head. Akinlana brushed his chin. \n\"I see. Aside from perhaps you, Paro?\" \n\"Yeah, maybe.\" \n\"No maybe about it.\" Akinlana sighed. \"You know, my grandson is being driven by hatred and anger, but the others with him only follow because they respect our system of command. Perhaps if someone senior were to intervene on the Pride Lands behalf, they would relent and leave Ezea alone to fend for himself.\" \n\"What about Ghavrah?\" Nathari questioned. Akinlana growled, slamming his paw on the ground. The three were shocked a moment, giving him a moment to speak. \n\"Ghavrah has, and always will be our greatest liability. I believe the time has come to put him where he cannot harm another living soul.\" He replied, returning to his usual more calm state. \"There's little time. If we are to act, the action must be taken quickly.\" \n\"Yes Grampa, but just Paro alone won't be enough.\" Saeska perked up.\n\"No, I suspect he won't. But I will.\" Akinlana smiled, seemingly glancing to his granddaughter. \n\"Master?\" Paro and Nathari breathed in unison. \n\"My body is old, but far beyond useless. I will travel with you to the Pride Lands and deal with this myself.\" \n\"No!\" Varika interjected, grasping his shoulder. \"My lord, your tenacity is commendable but you risk too much taking a voyage like that.\" \n\"There is far greater risk to the lives within an innocent kingdom if I remain here, doing little more than wishing them well.\" He countered, releasing from her grip. \"Nathari, Saeska, Paro. We shall journey to the Pride Lands together. I will help you quell this conflict, perhaps most important. I will hold my son one last time before my days are counted.\" Nathari and Paro rose up and gave a solemn bow. \n\"Thank you master!\" Nathari cried out, so relieved to know he was coming along. Saeska began inching closer to Akinlana, settling just under his chin. \n\"Granddaddy.\" She cooed. \n\"Yes, my child?\" \n\"Thank you.\" She sighed in relief, nuzzling under his chin. Akinlana chuckled, reaching for her arm. \n\"My sweet grandchild, your father has raised a miracle of a daughter.\" \n\nAs night came upon them, Simba sat aside Kovu's moaning body. Though conscious it was clear from his face the pain he was suffering. The wound that bled through leaf after leaf has subsided, but turned to a horrible ache. Kiara had hardly moved, keeping her husband's head cradled in her arms. She occasionally lay atop it to close her eyes and sleep for a few moments. Dasha remained cuddled up in Kovu's arms, his crying had relented but his worry had not. \nSimba stroked Kovu's back, giving what little comfort he could. Kopa sat and watched while Keyah cleansed his wounds with Aurok and Stara planted in his arms. Looking up to his father he asked. \n\"Daddy?\" \n\"Hmm? What is it son?\" \n\"When's Nathari and Saeska coming home?\" Kopa took a deep breath, slowly shaking his head. \n\"I don't know. Hopefully soon. I guess they'll take however long they need to convince them to help us.\" He explained, patting his sons head. \n\"But dad, I miss him.\" Aurok whined, trying to hide from his father's paw. Stara giggled a little, taking a tug at his tale. \n\"Bet you don't want him hearing about that when he comes home.\" She taunted lightly. \n\"Hey!\" \n\"Come on you two.\" Keyah interjected. \"Nathari will be home soon enough, right now we just have to figure out what to do until they get here.\" Ni had walked over along with Asani and stood before Kopa. Looking down to him, they gave a quick nod to the door. Kopa sighed and reluctantly rose up. \n\"I'll be back, my love.\" \n\"Don't take long.\" She smiled, Kopa leaned down for a brief kiss. Joining them he followed outside with Amri, Endail and Simba not far behind. They sat in circle just outside the entrance to Pride Rock. \n\"Amri?\" Ni spoke up first.\n\"Yes?\" He asked, glancing to him. \n\"I'm so sorry.\" Ni apologized, bowing his head. Amri gave a more concerned look and asked. \n\"For what?\" \n\"I did what I thought was best when I took over for you but, I don't feel right about it. Please, take lordship back, it's your honor, not mine.\" Ni affirmed, extending his paw to Amri. He smiled and happily took it. \n\"I love you boy. You've nothing to apologize for, I accept.\" He chuckled heartily. Simba decided to speak up next, feeling a small well of rage in his heart build up. \n\"Amri, you may keep lordship but keep in mind one thing.\" He barked, looking to him. \"If that monster dares set one ill paw in my kingdom, I'll rip it off.\" \n\"Simba.\" Amri sighed. \n\"No, dad, listen to me.\" Kopa insisted, cutting him off. \"Ghavrah is the one who tried to kill Kovu. Ezeamaka even warned him not to do it, but he went ahead anyway.\" \n\"Kopa, he knew exactly what Ghavrah would do.\" Endail argued. \"My cousin is lost to rage and he works in tandem with Ghavrah. The two might fight over little things here or there, but he knows to play up the more innocent factor to get to you, uncle.\" \n\"I see.\" Amri sighed, shaking his head. \"What has become of my son?\" \n\"Enough with the self pity!\" Asani blurted out. \"Fuck me, just a few fucking days ago you were ready to put this cock sucker in the ground.\" \n\"Asani, it's his son!\" Ni countered. \n\"What son!?\" He fired back. \"What fucking bullshit son? We've known Amri for years, I ain't never seen him raise anything but speed freak! Amri, listen to me alright? He's not your son!\" He shouted, giving each word its own punch. \"You had been through enough, you told us what happened and not one of your own family back home is blaming you cept that little fucking murderer out there flaunting your blood. You can't let him play on your emotions like he has been.\"\n\"You know I'd hate to say it but, Asani's dead on.\" Kopa agreed. Asani swiftly turned to Kopa. \n\"Thank you!\" He praised.\n\"Amri he's gonna use your feelings toward him to take you out of the picture and weaken us. We're pretty tough; you've trained us really well. But considering the fact there's only five of us able to fight against the seven of them, if we lose you were in serious trouble.\" Kopa explained. Endail shifted his glance to Kopa and smiled. \n\"Counted me out, have you?\" \n\"I am.\" Ni agreed. \"I wouldn't let you fight at our side and risk you turning on us.\" \n\"You're too close.\" Asani nodded. \n\"But a fight is coming.\" Simba stated, snaring everyone's attention. \"Another one. This will be the third time I've had to fight just to save my home, and I'm not even as old as my father was when he died.\" Asani hung his head. \n\"Shitty.\" \n\"Amri?\" Simba asked. \"I need to know you're with us.\" \n\"I will not kill my own son.\" He refuted. \n\"I'm not asking you to.\"\n\"I'll do it.\" Asani perked up. \n\"Asani?\" Amri breathed looking to him. Walking over to him he placed a paw on Amri's shoulder. \n\"When the time comes to fight, I'll take him on.\" \n\"And kill him?\" Endail barked, glaring at him. Asani slowly turned to him. \n\"If he doesn't submit, I'll kill him.\" Endail stayed locked on his eyes for a good while with Asani firing right back. Endail knew though he couldn't deter him from this, he knew his cousin was going too far. It was weighing heavy on his heart, but eventually he turned away, submitting to Asani's stare down. \n\"Why don't we just swarm him?\" Kopa questioned the group. \n\"It'd be easier wouldn't it?\" Endail answered, returning his head upright. \"Just wipe them all out, flush your lionesses and you on them. The problem is, Ezeamaka is still technically acting on behalf of the High Reach. You wipe out his crew entirely with shear force, Nariku might be inclined to return the favor.\" \n\"Well not unless-\"\n\"Shut up, Kopa.\" Asani cut off, glaring to him now. Turning to Ni, he shook his head to Kopa, reminding him to keep quiet about Saeska and Nathari. \n\"Not unless what?\" Endail said, trying to figure out what he meant. \n\"Nothing.\" Kopa dismissed. \"It was just, a dumb idea I had.\" He tried to play it off. Though he remained suspicious Endail accepted he wasn't getting an answer for now. \n\"I'll have Zazu deliver the ultimatum to Ezeamaka at first light.\" Simba announced, rising to his feet. \"He has three days to clear his camp, before we challenge him.\" \n\"Only males can fight in a challenge, Simba.\" Endail reinforced. \n\"I know.\" He replied, pausing a moment before walking inside. \n\"Ha, five to seven. Not terrible odds.\" Asani said, joining the group as they headed inside. \n\"Wanna go two on one again?\" Ni laughed, tapping his shoulder. \n\"Nah, not this time. You on the other hand.\" \n\"Yeah, probably. Me and Kopa maybe.\" Ni agreed. They talked back and forth a little more until they each found their way to their families. Asani settled in, giving Sierra and Vitani quick kisses while Ni wrapped up his little cub, cuddling Kinu under his chin. Kopa and Simba gave a quick check on Kovu, who had Kiara asleep on his head while Aurok and Stara were snuggled beside Dasha. The night was uneasy and restless, as the day of their battle was at last decided. \n\n\"There's no talking you out of this, is there dad?\" Tasani asked his father as he helped him up. Akinlana, Saeska, Paro and Nathari had all rested the night in Akinlana's den while Tasani and Khiros came to help their father off. \n\"No my children, I believe this is a matter best handled with my prescience.\" \n\"Ezeamaka hardly listened to you, dad when you trained with him.\" Khiros stated with a smile, taking the tail end of the group as they left the den. \n\"Perhaps, but the others will fall in line with my arrival and would dare not bring me to harm. It is Ghavrah alone I am concerned with.\" Akinlana explained, entering into the main hall. \n\"You'll eat at least before you go?\" Tasani asked. \"The huntresses just arrived with food.\" \n\"Of course, of course.\" He smiled, brushing his sons cheek with his. \"Do me a favor though will you, make sure my escorts here get a good proper meal as well. I'll be quite dependant on Paro for certain.\" Paro smiled as he looked back to Akinlana. \n\"Needing a lift from me here and there huh?\" \n\"Yes, here and there. My sight may be lost, but I've traveled the Sana hills well, I know them on instinct.\" \n\"I don't doubt it.\" Paro laughed lightly. \n\"Master, thank you again.\" Nathari perked up. \n\"No my young friend, it is I who should be thanking you. You braved the journey here to offer me a chance to set right the heinous actions of my kin. You gave me my granddaughter and a chance to see my lost son once more.\" He smiled, settling down with his sons near a leg of food. \"Nathari, Saeska. Thank you.\" \nAfter finishing up their meals they took to the outside, Tasani and Khiros huddled close to their father while Nathari, Paro and Saeska lead the way. Ahead at the tunnel heading down, they saw Nariku, sitting there awaiting their arrival. With a smile, he reached out and took his father into his arms, giving him a warm, solid hug. \n\"Dad, be careful.\" Nariku said softly, releasing his father. \n\"Oh I'll be fine son, just fine. You be careful should this situation at Fangclash escalate.\" \n\"I will. But dad, do me a favor?\" \n\"Sure.\" Akinala smiled, turning his ear. \n\"Tell Amri I love him, and I miss his fat ass.\" He laughed, as Akinlana joined him with a chuckle. \n\"I'll do just that.\" \n\"Oh and dad?\" Tasani threw in. \"Give Ghavrah a good shot in the junk for us.\" \n\"Yeah, no kidding.\" Khiros laughed. \n\"Boys.\" Akinlana sighed, still smiling at his sons. Pulling each of them close, he kissed their foreheads while taking one in exchange on his cheek. They watched Nariku off as Paro took the lead with Saeska and Nathari at either side of Akinlana. \"So long as I can hear you two at either side, and you up ahead there Paro I believe I can manage a good portion of this trip upon my own feet. But since time is of the essence, I will require a lift from you Paro wherever you can manage.\" \n\"No problem, master.\" Paro confirmed, starting down the ramp. \n\"You know, I can carry you for a while as well if you need a break Paro.\" Nathari suggested. Saeska giggled shaking her head. \n\"Sure, try to use him as your excuse for the fact you can't outrun me.\" She quipped, swinging her head up high. \n\"Hey, who won the race to the end of the valley?\" \n\"Uh huh, and who was incapacitated with fever, hmm.\" She giggled. \n\"That was a whole day later!\" Nathari argued, smiling as he shook his head at her.\n\"Maybe, maybe not.\" \n\"You two gonna be like this the whole way?\" Paro questioned. \n\"Probably.\" They answered together. \n\"Oh fuc- uh, I mean freaking lovely.\" Akinlana chuckled and gave Paro's backside a soft swat. \n\"Save on the poor language boy. Keep that filth beneath your paws, and out of your mouth.\" \n\"Yes master.\" Paro acknowledged. \n\"Wait till he meets Asani.\" Saeska giggled once more, leaning toward Nathari. He laughed with her as they entered the grasslands below. A few of the lionesses out and about stopped to watch them off in the distance. \n\"Master, think you can run it?\" Paro questioned, looking back to Akinlana. Looking up to the sky, he closed his eyes, drawing in a long deep breath. Exhaling he lowered his head briefly as he returned to Paro. \n\"Lead on, and let an old lion show you a thing or two my friend.\" He smiled. \n\"Haha! Yeah alright!\" Paro cheered, as he lead the crew out towards the Sana hills. With surprising ease it seemed Akinlana was able to keep up well. Saeska and Nathari snuck in a glance to him now and then, noticing most of the time he kept his eyes closed. In his mind, he knew the layout of the land so very well having lived in it his entire life. They carried on, with the Pride Lands in mind, Nathari and Saeska eager to get home, to the aid of their friends and family. \n\nThe next day in the pride lands grew dark. The large crews they were forced to form for the protection of the lionesses, were frightening away much of the prey. The girls knew only how to hunt in small packs, but now large groups trampled the grasslands, leaving huge trails the game were picking up on. Meanwhile, Amri and Endail spoke in soft conversations in the back of Pride Rock, as Kovu struggled to recover from his grievous injury at the claws of Ghavrah. Ezeamaka and Ghavrah received their message from Zazu and Simba. Taking his pupil aside afterward, he settled him down and spoke out of range of the prying ears of their followers. \n\"So, Simba has the gall to challenge us directly after all.\" Ghavrah whispered with a wicked grin. \n\"Yeah, and you said you took care of Kovu right?\" Ezeamaka asked, Ghavrah nodded in agreement and chuckled. \"Good. We'll take him up on this challenge then.\"\n\"Challenge? Boy, these Pridelanders are little more than weaning cubs. The spoils of this victory will be grand though.\" Ghavrah carried on, licking his chops. \n\"Horney old bastard.\" Ezeamaka laughed. \"Take whatever females you want from them. Leave there crippled fuck of a king to rule what's left.\" Ghavrah raised an eyebrow to him just a moment before taking to his usual face again. \n\"Good, of course my prince.\" He complied with a short nod. \n\"Yeah, you got your toy from the Elephant Graveyard I see.\" Ezea smiled, nodding towards the small spike on the ground nearby. \n\"Yes, I think it will make a fitting skewer for Simba's heart.\" \n\"Where'd you think of doing that anyway?\" He questioned. \n\"Oh you remember my story about the battle in the stone chasm yes?\" He reminded him with a smile. \"It's not always the most skilled fighter who wins out the day, but the most resourceful. The spike here is blackrock tipped, when shattered, comes to a finer point then the sharpest claw or fang.\" \n\"Yeah?\" Ezea asked in wonderment. \n\"Oh yes indeed my boy. Like you say, my age is getting the best of me. But with a good weapon like that, the chances tip greatly in our favor. And to you my prodigy, do remember what I taught you?\" \n\"Yes, of course.\" He smiled. \n\"No mercy, no openings, no hesitation, no hope against us.\" The chanted in sync. \"You drop down to that left paw too much still when you swing.\" Ghavrah reminded him. Ezeamaka laughed and pat his shoulder. \n\"Yeah, I'll watch for it this time. I can't afford to fuck up fighting Amri again.\" \n\"You let the moment get the better of you. This time, you'll be prepared.\" Ghavrah advised, rising to his feet he scooped up the spike and dropped it before him. \"This weapon, wasn't meant for Simba alone you know?\" \n\"Oh?\" Ezea smiled. \n\"When I'm finished with that pompous fool, it's all yours.\" \n\nSaeska, Nathari, Akinlana and Paro wasted little time. When his breath grew short, Akinlana would take to Paro's back and slow there pace to allow him to keep up. Saeska hunted when she could to feed the small group, but the trip was taxing them greatly. Sore paws and broken blisters were common, especially for Paro who had to shoulder the old lions weight. Akinlana fared well enough, proving to run longer and longer each day. They weren't far now, the Pride Lands on the distant horizon beyond the Outlands that lay ahead. The late afternoon was clouded as thunder loomed behind them.\n\"Great, a storm.\" Paro sighed, gently letting Akinlana off his back. \n\"Come on, were so close!\" Saeska encouraged, trying to press him back into action. \n\"Please my dear, just a moments breath. Poor Paro has been burdened with my girth the whole day.\" Akinlana replied, settling down. \n\"Girth?\" Nathari questioned. \"Sir, you're pretty skinny.\" \n\"Nath.\" Paro sighed. \n\"You only shouldered me once boy, Paro I'm sure feels the weight by now.\" \n\"I guess, sorry bro, and master.\" \n\"Forgiven. We should rest a moment, the outlands will not be a comfort to the sores of our feet. We best brace for muddy waters as well as we pass into the Pride Lands during this storm.\" Akinlana stated, gazing up to the sky. \n\"Daddy.\" Saeska breathed looking on to the Pride Lands. \"Just hold on, we're almost there.\" \n\nAmri and Simba gathered up Kopa, Asani and Ni and stood outside Pride Rock. The lionesses formed a circle around, wishing them well off to battle. Nala rushed in, squeezing Simba tight followed swiftly by the other girls. Kinu kissed Ni while Sierra and Vitani wrapped Asani between them. Aurok, Stara and Keyah all but enveloped Kopa while Hakima tucked her head beneath Amri's chin. \n\"My love?\" She whispered. Amri glanced down, his face heavy with worry. \n\"Yes.\" He answered just as softly. \n\"I've lived through a great many things in my life. But this day is unique, frightening.\" \n\"I know what you mean.\" He comforted, running his chin along her neck. \n\"You are the greatest husband a lioness could ask for, and I love you so. Take my heart with you to this battle; let it shield you with all the warmth and strength you have given me.\" She spoke, grasping his paw to her chest. Closing her eyes, she leaned into his body hard. \"And bring it home, safe, with you.\"\n\"My beloved wife, I love you with all my heart. I promise to come home, to hold you this night just as I have held you every night.\" He whispered softly. \n\"Kopa?\" Keyah asked, looking up to him. Reaching for his cheek she rubbed along it as he leaned into it, closing his eyes, embracing her touch. \"No matter what happens, however this turns out. I will always love you.\" \n\"I love you too Keyah, I promise I'll come back.\" He smiled, kissing her paw. \n\"Good.\" She sighed, immediately she snapped back to her usual face and snared his attention. \"Cause you know a storm is coming and I'm just hopeless if you're not around.\" She smiled. \n\"Oh? Feeling a little leaky are you?\" Kopa laughed, playing along. \n\"I swear, you tell anyone!\" She playfully bopped his shoulder.\n\"Not me, Asani maybe.\" \n\"Oh no, I can keep his mouth shut if I have to.\" She giggled helplessly. \n\"You know, we should really just sit outside and watch one.\" He suggested. \n\"No way!\" Keyah refuted firmly. \n\"Yeah, not gonna happen bro.\" Kinu smiled joining the conversation. \"Getting her to watch a storm without you strapped to her is like trying to get an elephant to dance.\" \n\"Would be a good show.\" Ni piped in as Asani and Amri joined them. \n\"This a real discussion, elephant dancing on a day like this?\" Amri questioned. Keyah giggled and looked back to Kinu. \n\"He's right, zebra is the most likely candidate for dancing.\"\n\"Meerkat maybe? I've seen Timon and Pumbaa show some moves.\" Kinu smiled\n\"You forgetting monkeys?\" Asani asked. \"That dancing chimp we got now is plenty enough.\" \n\"I don't think I'd count him.\" Kopa dismissed.\n\"What you a monkey hater?\" Ni questioned with a smile. \n\"Well he spanks his often enough.\" Asani quipped. Ni laughed helplessly while Kopa shook his head with a smile. \n\"I see, and who had a lover first between us? Just checkin.\" Kopa laughed. \n\"Oh we getting technical now, and yes I had one first you dip.\" Asani scoffed. \n\"I think he means one that you lasted longer than thirteen seconds with.\" Ni threw in. Amri even found himself laughing at this one. As there laughter settled, Endail caught up with the group and they began to head off. Amri took the lead toward the southern border with the others taking flank while Endail covered the rear. It wasn't far to travel, Ezeamaka had crossed the river and was already heading toward them.\n\"Kopa.\" Ni said softly. \"Remember, we get the two.\" \n\"Got it.\" He agreed. \n\"Son, I really wish you'd reconsider that.\" Simba pleaded. \n\"I'll be fine dad, its ok.\" Kopa insisted as they moved closer and closer to Ezeamaka. \n\"I guess our plan didn't work out with Nathari.\" Ni whispered to Amri, slowing there pace. \n\"There is always hope.\" \n\"Yes, but not always time. We're going to have to assume were on our own here, the reinforcements from the High Reach, are not coming.\" Ni stated. \n\"We'll see.\" He replied, watching Endail break away from the group. He took a spot a fair distance between the two prides, settling down in plain sight for everyone to see, he would not be joining the battle. Ezeamaka glared at him, spat off in his direction as he turned to Amri. \n\"Father!\" Ezeamaka called out from the head of the pack. \"I see you've finally decided to throw down your life, and spare your little family.\" \n\"You'd never spare them, regardless of any sacrifices I make.\" He refuted angrily. They stood a fair distance apart, the seven lions with Ezeamaka growling and spitting alongside Ghavrah who stood above them all, smiling to Simba. \n\"Finally, I'll put you in the ground where you belong. You should thank me for the opportunity to see mother again.\" He cackled, glancing to Ghavrah. Grinning he admired his pupil's taunting a moment before returning his gaze to Simba. Amri lowered his head a moment, reflecting on her memory. Slowly he drew his head up, scowling at Ezeamaka. \n\"Your mother, is by my side right now boy! She is here, to watch not me, but my dearest friend, put you to rest.\" Amri bellowed, breaking a cool smile as he finished. Ezeamaka looked to him in confusion, shifting between Ghavrah and Amri. Asani stepped forward with a smile plastered across his face, giving the hair of his mane a quick brush from his eyes. \n\"You know, as much as I'm gonna love beating the ever loving shit out of you. I'm gonna enjoy it more, knowing you'll never get the revenge you want so bad.\" Asani laughed. \n\"You're not even remotely-\"\n\"Shut the fuck up momma's boy!\" He curtly interrupted. \"I honestly wonder how hard that old fuck made you suck his cock, cause I think that’s about the only way I could even conceive getting to be the mad little bitch you are. Seriously, did he make you jiggle his balls? Did he slap em around your face?\" \n\"You pathetic little-\" Ezea tried to start. \n\"He made ya swallow didn't he?\" Asani grinned. Ni covered his face a little, trying to hide the laughter. Kopa found it a little easier not to laugh, watching the anger well up in Ezeamaka's eyes. He kept his focus where it belonged, trying to pick out which two to fight. \"Oh yeah, I bet he did. I can't blame ol Amri for not wanting to fight; he wouldn't hit a bitch to save his life. Me on the other paw, I got no problem putting you exactly where you belong you little shit.\" He carried on, stepping a little closer. \"You're going to die today, Ezeamaka. Today is the day you explain to mommy how you took it up the ass from a delusional, psychopathic, cub fucker in order to fail killing your daddy, again, and again and again!\"\n\"I'm going to rip your head off!\" Ezeamaka screamed at the top of his lungs. \n\"Control yourself!\" Ghavrah snapped. \n\"No, I've had it. This fucking pussy is going to die!\" Ezeamaka bellowed. \n\"You deviate from our plan!\" Ghavrah insisted, but to no avail, Ezea was striding toward Asani already. His fangs bared, claws extended. Asani just kept smiling, walking forward. The others followed suit, Kopa and Ni breaking off. Kopa ended up, facing across Theron and another lion named Serris. Simba ended up across from Traeda, a friend of Ezeamaka's. Ghavrah was left to face off with Amri, as Ni received Faraji and Tarok, the two remaining lions. The thunder began to boom, but no rain had touched the ground yet, just the calm settling in before it could begin. \n\"Take it bitch!\" Asani bellowed as he charged for Ezeamaka. He met him in mid air, their bodies colliding signaled the start of the battle. Amri rushed for Ghavrah and rose up to grapple him as Ni dove under the first lunge from Faraji, throwing a hard blow to Tarok. Kopa kept Theron and Serris ahead of them, Serris in particular trying to get a better angle on his side made the first rush in. Kopa threw an arm to his face, but Theron caught him and wrestled him to the ground immediately after. Simba started working into Traeda right away; the two were swinging at each other over and over until Simba finally threw himself atop of him and pinned him down.\nGharvrah struggled to land any decent shots on Amri, the rush of the fight brought the adreniline to surface with him. Ghavrah kept backing off, Amri's skill was beyond what he was expecting. He managed to parry a few blows and crack a few hard shots across Amri's face, but he was swift to return the favor. With a solid backhand, he threw Ghavrah up in the air and onto his back. Rushing to pin him down, Ghavrah raised his paws in surrender. \n\"I yield! Enough!\" He cried out, Amri was completely baffled. Ghavrah was old, but to submit so soon. \"I will back down.\" Ghavrah pleaded once more. Amri let him up with a good degree of hesitation. \n\"Hold to that.\" Amri advised. \"Touch my pride, and I'll tear you apart piece by piece.\" Ghavrah smiled and backed off, while Amri rushed to the aid of his pride. \nNi was in great trouble in his fight. Tarok had him pinned while Faraji and him traded blows. Ni caught Tarok's paw, shooting his to his chin, snapping his mouth shut. Tossing him off he rose up swiftly, only to catch another blow from Faraji and tackled once more. He struggled to get Faraji under control until Amri sacked him off. Taking Faraji to the ground Amri made quick work of punishing him for the team up. With his focus back on Tarok, Ni thanked Amri and began to square off with him. \nKopa threw Serris up onto his hind legs, wrestling with him a moment. His balance had become so much more stable training with Amri. In a snap, Kopa threw him down; catching his head he spun him onto his back. Theron tried to take advantage of Kopa being placed on his back as well, but met Kopa's feet into his stomach. Tossing over, Kopa rose up and shot a harsh kick across Theron's face, spitting up he backed off, disoriented from the blow. Serris had risen to his feet as well though, wrapping Kopa in a headlock. Growling as he felt Serris try to find his neck with his fangs, he sured a grip on his shoulder and threw him up. Falling back, Kopa slammed Serris to the ground, clipping Theron in the process. \nThough the start of the fight held his favor, Simba began struggling with Traeda. He was one of the true warrior's of The High Reach, and much stronger then Simba had anticipated. Simba's swings were becoming easier to block, a fact Traeda took advantage of by giving him his backhand with another cut-across to Simba's face. Traeda lunged for Simba, catching him; Simba tossed him off with the trick Nala had taught him. Its effectiveness was limited though, as Traeda rolled it out and quickly darted to his feet once more. Returning to knock Simba back to the ground as he tried to rise up. \n\"Nice trick! But you're going to have to do better than that.\" He taunted. With a harsh swing, he began to barrage Simba's head over and over. He struggled through the first few, but the fight was taxing too much of him, his feet fell over as he slipped unconscious. \n\"No!\" Amri shouted, having finished with Faraji he moved to take on Traeda. Ripping him off of Simba he started to battle with the warrior. \nAsani had Ezeamaka pinned down, but not well. Ezea was making him work for his weight on him. With a good shot to his stomach and neck, Asani was forced to dismount. Leaping to his feet, they squared off once more and began circling. \n\"Where's that mouth now.\" Ezeamaka questioned. Asani glared as he panted. \n\"Least I use mine for what it's supposed to.\" He quipped. Ezeamaka laughed, shaking his head. \n\"You know what?\" He asked, leaping for Asani he faked a blow to his face and shot him up his chin. As he fell to the ground, Ezea laughed and shook out his mane. \"You're shit's getting old, and I'm feeling a little more cool.\" \nNi was finally winning over Tarok. Both exhausted, as Tarok came swinging in Ni was quick to lunge under and toss him onto his back. Rushing him Ni took quick shots to his face before backing off, never letting Tarok get the grip on him he needed to put his weight over him. Slowly staggering to his feet, Ni awaited his next strike. With a loud roar, Tarok charged him once more. Leaping for him, Ni saw his opening form. His arms spread wide, Ni threw his weight into one of them and forced it back. With an audible snap he sent Tarok to the ground, gasping in agony. Ni put pressure on his neck with his paw, gazing down on him with a smile. \n\"Give it up, and I'll let you be.\" He threatened. It took a few seconds for him to respond, the shock of the injury still fresh as the throbbing pain began to surge his shoulder. Tarok nodded eagerly as Ni approved and backed off. Looking to Kopa's battle he started to hone in on Serris. Before he could act, Ghavrah rushed him and carried him in the charge, slamming Ni head first into a nearby tree. Watching his body slump to the ground, he gazed down in disdain. \n\"Opps, didn't see you there.\" He mocked. He turned his attention to Tarok and looked him over. Grabbing his arm, he shoved it into its socket, hearing the pop to confirm it. \"You've a moment to rest, but if I don't see you up and fighting then. I'll cut your throat myself.\" Tarok looked to him in wide eyes, panic stricken. \nKopa had managed to knock out Serris, leaving a fearful Theron pacing around him. Kopa was bleeding from his cheek, but stared down at him, little panting and hardly showing any signs of fatigue. \n\"You know.\" Theron started, shaking his finger. \"I'm more of a fine lover then a good fighter. Any chance I can back down?\" He pleaded. Kopa smiled, feigning thought for a moment. \n\"Well I suppose on one condition.\" He stated, gesturing for Theron to approach. \"Come on.\" He insisted lightly. Theron hesitantly drew closer and closer. Kopa threw a hard shot across his head, sending him to the ground unconscious. \"That, is for picking on my sister.\" Kopa quickly turned to Amri, seeing him manage Traeda quite well, he looked to Asani. Barely able to stand it did not look well for him now. He knew if Asani was struggling, he would fare little better. Rushing off to Amri and Traeda, he interjected on the fight. \n\"Kopa what are you?\" Amri demanded. \n\"Go!\" Kopa barked, gesturing to Asani. Amri nodded and rushed off. \nEzeamaka deflected Asani's errant strike and shot him across the face, sending him back staggering. Asani glanced to Ni, who lay unconcious far off along with Simba. Turning back to Ezea he met another blow to the face, this one sending him to the ground. \n\"Come on Asani!\" He taunted. \"Get up! I wanna hear what you got to say now!\" Ezeamaka picked him back up, winding up another swing Asani parried it off and gave a good shot across Ezeamaka's cheek, cutting it fairly deep. Backing off he gave it a quick pat and felt the blood. He glared at Asani angrily. \"You little shit.\" \n\"Aww, did I pretty you up a notch?\" He joked between pants. Ezeamaka lunged for him and pinned him down. Shot after shot, he hammered Asani's face. It was too much for him now, Asani knew he was beaten. Dizzy, disoriented, he felt himself starting to pass out. \n\"Guess it's you that dies today.\" Ezea spat to his face. \n\"F…fuck you.\" He muttered just before he lost consciousness. Ezea extended his claws and wound up to cut his throat, as his paw was caught. Looking up he saw Endail over him, shaking his head. \n\"No cousin, enough blood.\" He pleaded. \n\"You!\" Ezea barked, letting Asani alone. \"You back stabbing shit! How dare you turn your back on me?!\" \n\"I never turned my back on you! I'm the only one here watching it for you!\" He fired right back. Ezea swung across Endail's face, to which he immediately returned the favor. This blow hurt him in a different way, never once had he been struck by Endail in anger. It was frightening for him. He took his time returning his gaze to his cousin, almost ashamed to show him. \"I can't watch you do this Ezea! I won't watch you butcher a kingdom.\" He yelled turning to walk away. \n\"Endi!\" He called out. Stopping a moment, he answered back. \n\"Goodbye, Ezeamaka.\" \nAmri rushed to Asani first, Ezeamaka still stunned by what had just happened. Leaning down he stroked his head, examining his injuries. His face had been badly beaten, blood seeping out his nose. Amri forced his mouth open, allow him to take in more air since his nose was no doubt congested with blood. Ezeamaka turned now, to see his father standing before him. \n\"Do you see now?\" Amri questioned. In confusion he looked to him. \n\"What?\" \n\"Do you see what this costs you?\" He reiterated. \"He told me everything Ezea, he loved you so much. You're bloodlust has cost you your own family.\" \n\"No.\" He growled, hiding his face a moment. \"No this is you! This is you!!\" He shouted. \n\"Come on then! Kill me, boy! Kill the once piece of flesh you have left that still loves you!\" Amri bellowed. \n\"No!\" Ezeamaka screamed lunging for Amri. They wrestled up onto their hind legs, but Amri tossed his grip and landed, backing off. \n\"I won't do it boy, I won't satisfy you by fighting back.\" Amri insisted, dodging a few errant blows. \n\"I'll kill you! I'll tear you apart for what you did!\" He screamed once more. Ezeamaka's strikes were becoming erratic but a few still found there mark upon Amri's shoulders and head. \"Come on! Fight back!\" He yelled. \n\"No.\" Amri eked out, dodging what strikes he could. \n\"You, abandoned us!\" Ezeamaka cried out. \n\"You know that's not what happened.\" Amri argued before being wrestled back up. Ezeamaka clipped his chin this time while they were up, Amri lost his balance and caught a harder shot across his face as they came down. The previous fights were taking their toll on him as well. His strength could not hold out much longer. \n\"She died, waiting for you! All she ever talked about was you!\" He barked. He wound up and took a good shot across Amri's cheek, cutting it lightly. Amri closed his eyes, Hakima visable in his mind, he let a tear escape. Forgive me, my love. He thought as Ezeamaka started his final barrage. Blow after blow sent Amri spitting up and dizzy, with a good final shot to his chin, Amri was knocked out. Kopa was forced to watch as Serris and Theron rose up to join Traeda once more and cornered him. \n\"Amri no!!\" He cried out. Ghavrah approached behind the heavily breathing Ezeamaka, the spike still in his jaws. Placing it down he watched him standing over his unconscious father. \n\"Are you ready?\" He asked him. Ezea nodded, reaching his trembling paw over Amri's throat. \"Good.\" Ghavrah replied softly. With a swift snatch, he grabbed the spike, driving through Ezeamaka's stomach. His claws retracted his eyes wide in shock. Gasping he looked behind him, seeing in his peripheral vision, the rock pierced through his body. Ghavrah rushed to his ear and softly whispered. \"You know I think of all the lessons I taught you, the main one never sunk in did it. Your single-minded stupidity lead you here, thankfully so easily. Did you really think I'd serve on your right paw as some compliant toy? For how many times must I tell you, you useless fuck? I always, come out, on top!\" He snarled, knocking Ezeamaka down. \n\"What the!?\" Kopa, Serris, Traeda and Theron called out in sync. Tarok rolled over and saw it happen as well in shock. \n\"Rise, warriors of The High Reach! Today, we claim this kingdom as our prize! Kneel now, before your king!\" Ghavrah announced. \n\"Warrior's of The High Reach, stand down!!\" Akinlana fired out angrily. Kopa swiftly turned to the voice, seeing Nathari and Saeska arrive with Akinlana on Paro's back. Quickly he dismounted as Nathari rushed to Kopa's side. \n\"Dad! Are you ok!?\" he begged. Kopa swiftly hugged him tight as Saeska frantically searched for Amri. Ghavrah plastered a smile across his face. \n\"You've no power here, Master Akinlana.\" He laughed. \n\"You've never had any power, Ghavrah. By my claws, you never will.\" He retorted casually. \n\"Master?\" Traeda questioned shyly. \n\"Get the Pridelanders to their feet boy, or I will make you sorry you stepped one foot in this land.\" He threatened. \n\"Uhh… yes master, sorry master.\" He immediately complied. \n\"Belay that!\" Ghavrah demanded. \n\"No I don't think so.\" Akinlana smiled. Ghavrah glared at Akinlana as he slowly approached him. Ezeamaka lay on the ground still in shock of what had happened. Seeing his father lay motionless before him. It began to dawn on him what had happened, what had gone so very wrong. Reaching out, he clawed his way slowly to his father's head. \n\"Father.\" He stammered, prodding his father's cheek. \"Father, get up.\" He begged incessantly. \"Father.\" He cried, clinching in pain, the spike still run through him. Panting he felt the tear start to run down his face. \"Dad, wake up.\" He called. Amri's eye shot open, meeting his sons face. \n\"Ezea?\" He asked, hardly able to believe it was him that had called. \n\"Daddy!!\" Saeska cried out, rushing to her father. \"Oh daddy, please be ok.\" She moaned. \n\"Baby, please. I'm so glad your home, but your brother.\" Amri said, nodding to Ezeamaka. She sharply turned to him and glared, seeing the spike run through him. \n\"It's no less then you deserve you big jerk!\" She barked. \n\"Sister, please. I'm so very sorry, but Ghavrah. Bring him here.\" Ezea pleaded. \n\"What?\" She questioned, looking to Ghavrah as he stood only feet away from Akinlana. \"Why?\" \n\"Gonna return the favor.\" Ezeamaka stammered. Amri slowly rose to his feet, his legs shaking a little. Seaska's anger melted away, looking down at her brother. \n\"Make it count.\" She said softly. Rushing off toward Ghavrah and Akinlana. She slowed her pace creeping up behind him. With a wicked grin she charged towards his backside and swung between his legs. \"Present from Tasani!\" She laughed. Ghavrah cringed in pain as Akinlana took advantage. In a rush he hauled him up as he charged. With a great leap he spun the massive lion like a toy, kicking him far up in the air. Akinlana landed gracefully as Ghavrah slammed the ground before Amri. Reaming on his throat, Amri pulled the big lion up and demolished his chin with a solid uppercut, shooting him onto his back near Ezeamaka. With a cry of pain, he pulled the spike from his stomach, leaping up and slamming it into Ghavrah's mouth out the back and into the ground. Ghavrah's teeth shattered as it split his jaw, forcing his body to tremble as he stared up at Ezeamaka. \n\"Guess I came out on top after all.\" He smiled, slamming what remained of the protruding spike down further, severing Ghavrah's neck. Ezeamaka embraced every moment, as Ghavrah's eyes glazed, his trembling subsided. The old lion at last, had been slain. With a grunt Ezea flopped onto his side, feeling the blood pour from his wounds. Amri slowly walked over, his son lying on the ground, breathing heavily, yet looking so peaceful. He settled himself over him and gently lowered his body down. \n\"Son.\" He whimpered a little, seeing him in so much pain. \n\"Guess it's over huh?\" Ezeamaka sighed. Amri began stroking his head, feeling the tears well up in his eyes. \"Guess you win this one dad.\" He laughed and coughed. \n\"No.\" Amri shook his head. \"No, I lost this one.\" \n\"Huh?\" He questioned, still smiling a little. \n\"During the time before I left, Serwa badly desired a cub of our own. Someone to love, nurture and watch grow. She grew frustrated that all my training and duties were keeping me away, that I wasn't with her enough to breed properly but I had faith in us. When things went awry though, I fled and it is true, I never knew you were growing in her belly. But something you must know, that Serwa, Endail and even your grandfather must have shown you by now is that no matter what atrocities you commit, or blood you spill. In our hearts we will always love you.\" He explained, continuously stroking Ezeamaka's head. \n\"I know, I'm sorry dad.\" He whimpered. \n\"I love you son. I'm so sorry I never came back. If I had but the slightest clue you were my own, I would have.\" Amri cried, resting his head on his. Ezeamaka felt the tears start roll down his cheek as well. \n\"I… I love you to… dad…\" He breathed, as his eyes grew heavy. Simba and Ni were finally awakening, at first in a panic from seeing the other warriors still standing. But they had begun to fall in formation before Akinlana, each one of them with a low head, trying to hide there faces from him. Akinlana shook his head at them, opting to meet with his son. One by one, they gathered around Amri and Ezeamaka. Saeska watched him hold him, feeling the urge build within to hold her father. She nearly toppled him off of Ezea, hugging him tight. Akinlana smiled, walking over, he gently placed a paw on Amri's shoulder. Smiling he gazed up to the sky, letting the first droplets of rain hit his face. \n\"This is not his time.\" Akinlana spoke softly. \n\"Father?\" Amri asked, looking up to him, the tears still flowing. \n\"My son, I do not need my eyes to see this. Ezeamaka can live, hold him. Tightly.\" He insisted, guiding his sons paw down. \n\"Master?\" Paro asked. \"How, do you know where he's hurt?\" \n\"It is difficult to explain boy. I can, feel where he has been struck. I feel his heart in mine. It is not ready to die yet.\" Akinlana answered. He started to pat Amri's head, stroking his mane as Saeska broke away from her hug. \"My dear, beautiful boy.\"\n\"Help is on the way!\" Rafiki called out, hefting a bundle tied to his stick. He was riding atop Sierra and quickly found their way over. \"Oh.\" Rafiki stated, surprised to see Amri holding Ezeamaka tightly. \"I see I have a new patient, eh?\" He questioned to Amri. \n\"Please, can you help him?\" He pleaded. \n\"Daddy, wait.\" Saeska interjected. \"This can't be right, daddy he's gonna try to kill you if you heal him.\" \n\"I don't know.\" Ni argued, holding his head. \"He seems, different.\" Sierra and Asani finally joined the group, he was leaning quite heavily on her, barely able to see. \n\"What's going on guys?\" He asked. Saeska gave Asani's cheek a quick kiss and smiled. \n\"Made it home!\" She giggled. \n\"Thanks, and ow.\" He chuckled. Saeska aww'd and brushed his shoulder with her head. Rafiki started tending to the wound on either side of Ezeamaka's body. Simba turned away, somewhat disgusted with the fact he was really going to treat him while Asani nearly fell off of Sierra's shoulder. \"Hey hey hey! What are you doing?!\" He protested. Akinlana's paw swung out in front of him abruptly, shaking his head. \n\"Trust me, my young friend. Leave him be.\" \n\"What!?\" He exclaimed. \n\"Asani.\" Nathari perked up. \"That's Amri's dad, its master Akinlana.\" He gave him one more look. \n\"Oh, fine then. Guess we'll just save the guy that nearly took my fucking head off, no biggy.\"\n\"Asani.\" Ni sighed. \"We'll talk more when you've had a chance to recover. Come on, we shouldn't linger here.\" \n\"I agree.\" Simba nodded. \"It's been a long day. Amri, I'll be speaking with you when you get home.\" Amri glanced to Simba and nodded as they started toward home. Saeska, Akinlana, Paro, Nathari and Rafiki remained behind to watch as he treated his wounds. \n\"They are angry with us.\" Akinlana said softly. \n\"I know.\" Amri agreed quietly. \"But he's my son; I have to try if there's a chance he can pull through.\" \n\"I can't say I'm a fan of this idea either.\" Nathari said, backing away. \"He's tried to kill me, and rape Saeska. How can we trust him?\" \n\"Because he will not try something so foolish as that while I am here.\" Akinlana stated. \n\nUpon arriving home, the girls all rushed to meet there loved ones as they walked in. Kinu, Keyah, Nala all took to cleaning the wounds of their lovers while Sierra set Asani down near Vitani. He could barely move, and was in considerable pain. Ni took some time to explain to Hakima what had happened, as she was a little panicked with them returning home without Amri. She was relieved to know that Saeska had finally come home as well. \nAmri at last came inside, met immediately by the arms of his wife. Hakima kissed his cheek and lips over and over, so thankful to see he was safe. \n\"Mommy!!\" Saeska cheered, tackling Hakima to the ground. \n\"OH! My baby girl! Welcome home.\" She laughed, hugging her daughter tight. Rolling over she let herself up, leaning on her daughter with a smile. Paro and Nathari had Ezeamaka up on their backs while Akinlana followed behind with Rafiki. Simba shot to his feet immediately and growled. \n\"No! He cannot stay here, that's out of the question!\" He barked. \n\"Here, fuckin here.\" Sierra mumbled. Asani gave a quick laugh and nodded. \n\"Simba.\" Akinlana spoke loudly. It snared his attention along with Amri's. \"Come.\" Simba growled low but followed alongside Amri. As they gathered outside, Akinlana took the point of Pride Rock, placing Amri and Simba before him. \n\"Listen, I'm grateful for you coming here to end the battle. But if it wasn't for that monster, we would have never had any trouble to begin with! I will not allow him to stay here.\" Simba stated. \n\"Then don’t.\" Akinlana replied. \"I wouldn't ask you to carry the burden of my grandson.\" \n\"Good.\" Simba nodded. \n\"Amri will.\" Akinlana smiled. \n\"What?\" Simba questioned. \n\"I will father.\" Amri nodded. \n\"What don't you understand?\" Simba demanded. \n\"What don't you?\" Akinlana retorted calmly. \"King Simba, you have in your home, the eldest child of your kingdoms lord. He lays, wounded, helpless and weak. Now, as for what has happened to this day, I offer my sincerest apologies on behalf of The High Reach. The warriors involved will be dealt with swiftly, and harshly. But that boy in there will be dealt the most punishment.\" \n\"What are you going to do with him?\" Simba asked. Akinlana smiled, looking to Amri. \n\"Make him walk a mile in his father's pawprints.\" He stated. Amri gave it a moments though, hanging his head he sighed heavily. \n\"He's not going to like that one bit.\" Amri replied. \n\"No, he's not.\" \n\"I'm missing something here aren't I?\" Simba questioned again. \n\"Yes, and I'm sorry for the confusion. Right now, I do not wish to burden you with the details of his punishment. All I can ask is your forgiveness in time, and trust that proper justice will be delivered upon those that have wronged your kingdom. I ask permission, for my grandson to recover here. Also for my escort and I to remain here a while to gather our strength for the journey home.\" Akinlana requested with a polite bow. Simba hung his head, heaving a heavy sigh. \n\"You have mine, but not theirs.\" He replied, slowly raising his head. \"There are many within Pride Rock that hold great hostility towards him, and I will not stop them if they attempt anything against Ezeamaka.\" He replied. \n\"Simba, I will be by his side. I will make sure nothing comes of this.\" Amri insisted. \n\"Amri, I understand where you are coming from. I know your desire to turn things around for him is strong. But he nearly obliterated us in this conflict. I won't defend him, not even for you. It is your soul duty to protect him until he is well, and your responsibility should he betray your trust.\" Simba reaffirmed. \n\"I understand.\" Amri replied lightly. \n\"Good. Master Akinlana, you are welcome to stay a few weeks if you need to recover. But the burden this war has put on our land is great. I can't hold you and the other longer than that.\" Simba stated. \n\"Perfectly fine.\" Akinlana agreed. \"Thank you Simba, but, could I have a moment with my son?\" \n\"Certainly.\" He nodded, turning back towards the den. Amri watched as he disappeared inside before turning back to Akinlana. There smiles met, as Amri nearly leapt into his arms, Akinlana wrapping him tight. \n\"Dad. I'm so happy to see you again.\" Amri said, muffled in his father's mane. \n\"My dear boy. You've no idea how glad I am to hold you again.\"\n\"Father, I'm so sorry I left you and my brothers, it's just when he died-\" \n\"Shh.\" Akinlana hushed. \"It's ok my son, its ok. You've nothing to explain, I know the pain you felt. It was shared when Nariku told me.\" \n\"Mother, is she ok?\" Amri asked. \n\"Oh my child, she passed just a year or so ago. She was happy, and peaceful.\" He informed him. \n\"Still, I wish I had been there to see her.\" \n\"She sees you everyday my son. Watching you alongside your brother and former wife.\" \n\"I hope you weren't hard on her.\" Amri said softly, releasing himself from his father's grip. \n\"How long have you known me boy?\" Akinlana chuckled. \n\"I suppose you're right.\" He smiled. \n\"That daughter of yours is a true wonder, I must say.\" \n\"Saeska, my little bolt of lightning.\" Amri laughed. \n\"Oh dear me, is she ever. Her heart is so very strong, it's a pleasure just to be near her.\" \n\"She's got herself a lover too now.\" \n\"Yes.\" Akinlana nodded. \"Nathari was quite protective of her. She came a little ill upon arriving at The High Reach, but Varika settled her down easily enough.\" \n\"Sick? With what?\" Amri asked eagerly. \n\"Calm down, my son. It was a light fever. Paro helped keep them fed, to which Nathari was very thankful.\" \n\"Paro is the other lion?\" Amri asked. \n\"Yes, it's Nathari's elder brother.\" He smiled. \n\"Oh that’s great!\" \n\"You're brothers all bid you well, Nariku says he misses your fat ass.\" \n\"Ha!\" Amri laughed. \"Jelani was the fatass, not me.\" Akinlana tapped Amri's jaw, shaking his head with a smile. \n\"That mouth.\" \n\"Oh no, not my mouth. Come spend some time with Asani, father. Then you'll hear the lip of your life.\" He laughed, leading his father inside. \n\"So I've heard. Looking forward to meeting him.\" \n\nAs a few weeks passed, the Pride Lands began to return to it's normal stability. Amri, vigilantly defended his son within Pride Rock, mostly from the occasional spat with Asani or Nathari. Sierra and Vitani began to bloat with the weight of there cubs, and the healing of many of the wounded was nearly completed. Ezeamaka regained his ability to walk, but found running something of a struggle over any period of time. Shots of rushing pain would shoot up his spine, no doubt something offset from the piercing spike through his stomach. Saeska and Nathari continued to watch over Aurok, Stara and Dasha as Ni, Amri and Akinlana often walked together to discuss tactics and leadership skills. Kovu made a full recovery, though he shared Asani's love for Ezeamaka, he forced himself to speak with him now and again. Strangely, it was Kopa that found himself talking with him now and then with little fear, and on this day they took to the top of Pride Rock together and settled down. \n\"How's your back doing?\" Kopa asked, giving him a quick glance before looking on to the Pride Lands. \n\"It's rough, but getting there.\" \n\"That's good.\" He replied. \"So Akinlana leaves today, gonna go with him?\" Ezeamaka shook his head, resting it between his paws. \n\"No. I'm not.\" \n\"Why not?\" Kopa questioned, puzzled by his answer. \n\"Because, it's not my home anymore.\"\n\"What do you mean?\" Ezeamaka heaved a sigh. \n\"Don't ask.\" He dismissed. He let a little time pass before shifting to Kopa. \"You know, I honestly thought Asani and Simba were gonna kill me in my sleep.\" \n\"There not like that.\" Kopa stated. \n\"No, I know. I don't get how though. If I was in their position I would. What I've done, what I had planned to do. It doesn't deserve forgiveness.\" He explained. \n\"What does it deserve then?\" Kopa asked. \n\"Death.\" He stated firmly. \"My father, should have put me away, the day I attacked my own sister.\" He sighed, covering his face. Kopa sighed, looking on to the Outlands, thinking back on Zira and the attack on his life. The memories were always vivid, fresh, the smell of the blood in the air. The feel of her strikes, impacting his body. \n\"You know how I got like this?\" Kopa posed to Ezeamaka, showcasing his scars. \n\"Hmm?\" He mumbled. \n\"A vicious, psychotic lioness tore me apart when I was a cub. She found out, I was in love with her daughter, and killed me.\" Kopa explained in a solemn tone. \n\"Killed you?\" He asked, half smiling. \"Seem pretty spry for a corpse.\" \n\"I woke up, I don't know how. Amri found me, and a lot of my memories were stripped away. The shock of what happened, what she did to me. I lost everything because of her.\" He continued on. Looking up to the sky, he closed his eyes and drew in a deep breath. \"But I forgive her.\" \n\"Why?\" \n\"Because it's how I moved passed what had happened, and look to what I have now. I'm mated to a loving lioness, two cubs. If she keeps riding me like this, there's more on the way.\" Kopa laughed, Ezeamaka laughed a little as well and settled his head back down. \"But, eventually. I forgot about the pain she caused me, because I had grown beyond it. My life goes on, and it's happy again. I didn't spend it dwelling on what could have been if she had never done it. I didn’t let my past consume me, and thanks to what your father taught me, it never will.\"\n\"Hmm, I see. But I wonder, how long will it be before I'm forgiven for what I have done?\" He questioned himself. \n\"No, not till we forgive you.\" Kopa interjected. \"Until you're ready to forgive yourself.\" Closing his eyes with a smile, Ezea looked out toward the Pride Lands once more. \n\"Forgive myself. Guess I'm a ways away.\" \n\"Probably.\" Kopa smiled, agreeing with him. \n\"Thanks for that.\" Ezea laughed. \n\"Anytime.\" As they settled for a while longer, Ezea spoke up once more. \n\"I'm not gonna find it here.\" \n\"No?\" \n\"No. I guess that's why grand father's punishment makes sense. I have to accept what I have done, and I must do it alone. I've leaned on lions like Ghavrah, Endi and Mother all my life. This is something Amri can't help me with, I have to find it myself.\" \n\"Forgiveness.\" Kopa questioned. \n\"That, and peace.\" He agreed. \"Spent my whole life, pissed off at one thing or another. Gotta find a better way to deal.\" \n\"I wish you luck.\" \n\"Thanks.\" Ezeamaka nodded, rising to his feet. Heading toward the ramp, he paused just before heading down. \"Do me one last favor?\" Kopa looked back to listen. \n\"Sure.\" \n\"Tell Ysura, she'll get her wish someday, I promise. She'll understand.\" \n\"Got it.\" Kopa agreed. Ezeamaka made his way down, bumping into Amri face to face at the bottom. \n\"Whoa, hi father.\" He greeted. \n\"Hello son.\" Amri smiled. Scratching his head a moment, he thought about the best way to tell him. \n\"Dad, I think it's time.\"\n\"Time?\" He questioned. Ezeamaka nodded, gesturing beyond the Pride Lands. Amri looked back and hung his head, his eyes closed. \"I see.\" \n\"Yeah. This is something I have to do on my own. I understand what Grandfather wants me to do. I think it's right.\" Ezeamaka explained. \n\"Where will you go?\"Amri asked shyly. \n\"I don't know. Maybe that's the point.\" He smiled. \n\"Son, just let me talk to Simba. You don't have to-\" Amri began to explain, but he cut him off with a leap into his arms. Amri was stunned, his jaw dropped as his once spiteful son was embracing him. Nearly crying he wrapped him in his arms and rest his head on his son's neck and mane. Holding him a while, Ezeamaka pushed back and smiled. \n\"Dad, I love you. I can't thank you enough for saving me. But this is something I have to do.\" Ezeamaka explained. Leaning to his ear, he softly whispered. \"I'll come home, when I'm ready. Will you be here?\" Amri let a single tear escape before giving his answer. \n\"I'll be here. For you son, I'll always be here.\" Ezeamaka, brushed his cheek passed his and walked ahead. Amri watched him take his first few steps away as he turned back. \n\"Until next time, dad.\" He called back. Nodding he raised his paw in the air. \n\"Until next time, my son.\" \n\n-The End. \n \n\n\n",
"writing_bbcode_parsed": "<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'>Nathai lay alongside Saeska&rsquo;s shivering body within Akinlana&rsquo;s personal den. The voices sounded joyous, chatting about the day&rsquo;s events, hopeful relationships and training. Conversations blended at times, a voice overlapping another but fragments came through. Occasionally they would mention Nathari&rsquo;s name briefly, before the chatter could swallow up that conversation as well. <br />&ldquo;Nathari?&rdquo; Akinlana said softly, finishing his bath. <br />&ldquo;Yes master?&rdquo; He asked shyly, glancing up from Saeska&rsquo;s body. <br />&ldquo;Why don&rsquo;t you join the others for a while? I can tend to my granddaughter for a few if you like.&rdquo; He suggested. Nathari shook his head, settling it back down on hers as he gently stroked her quivering body. <br />&ldquo;No, I&rsquo;m sorry master. I wanna be with her, keep her warm.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;I thought I heard her shivering.&rdquo; He nodded. &ldquo; The noise in the other room, douses my senses at times. Boy, call for Varika.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Yes master.&rdquo; He nodded, gradually releasing Saeska from his grasp. He rushed out, peeking within a den across the hall. Varika sat in the corner, mixing something within a bowl. &ldquo;Varika? Master Akinlana, wants you.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Oh? I&rsquo;m on my way boy.&rdquo; She placed the bowl at her feet and bounded to his side, she came to Akinlana&rsquo;s side and settled near, leaning in. &ldquo;Yes my lord, what would you like?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Hello dear, back in the den, do we still have those hides? The ones you used to wrap me up in during the cold nights?&rdquo; He questioned softly. She nodded eagerly, placing her hand on his shoulder.<br />&ldquo;Of course my lord, you feel a chill?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Oh no, I&rsquo;m quite fine, but my poor granddaughter there is chilled quite badly. She has been trembling in Nathari&rsquo;s arms.&rdquo; He quickly explained.<br />&ldquo;Oh! Of course, I&rsquo;ll be right back boy, you just keep her warm.&rdquo; She insisted, turning to Nathari and pushing him back down alongside her. <br />&ldquo;Thank you.&rdquo; Nathari smiled, regaining his grip on her. Within moments she returned, hauling over her shoulder a large dark brown hide. Throwing it down, she pat out a little dust that had collected and had him move her over a little. Placing it on the ground, she let it span out as a means for her to rest on while she ran off to grab another to cover their bodies. She brought yet another, following a similar routine and placed it over Saeska&rsquo;s chest, tucking it between her and Nathari&rsquo;s body, it was able to cover down to her waist. She smiled at her work, patting Saeska&rsquo;s head she giggled. <br />&ldquo;You&rsquo;ll be right as rain soon my girl.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Any idea what&rsquo;s wrong with her?&rdquo; Nathari asked urgently. <br />&ldquo;Oh, yes I have noticed a few things. She&rsquo;s not sniffling or sneezing or coughing, so the more common illness I can rule out.&rdquo; She explained, hopping over to Nathari. &ldquo; She uh, comes from a warmer land, yes?&rdquo; She asked with a smile. <br />&ldquo;We sleep in pride rock in the Pride Lands, it&rsquo;s really warm.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Ahh yes. She hasn&rsquo;t adjusted to the temperature changes here. The nights are much colder then the Pride Lands. Her fever will settle, but I have a few things I&rsquo;ll get her to eat when she wakes that will accelerate the process.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Good, so it&rsquo;s nothing serious.&rdquo; He sighed in relief. <br />&ldquo;No, she&rsquo;ll be quite fine.&rdquo; She assured him, patting Saeska&rsquo;s belly. Nathari smiled, cuddling her warming body close to his. He hardly noticed Paro peeking in the room. <br />&ldquo;Hey, bro you still up?&rdquo; He called. Nathari turned and eagerly nodded. <br />&ldquo;What&rsquo;s up brother?&rdquo; Paro gave a quick nod to Varika and walked inside, setting a spot near his brother. <br />&ldquo;How&rsquo;s the girl holdin up?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;She&rsquo;s good. Shivering a little, but that&rsquo;s why we got the furs.&rdquo; He explained. <br />&ldquo;Yeah, sounds good. Listen uh, moms out there. She&rsquo;s talking up the crowd about me again. I don&rsquo;t think anyone&rsquo;s even told her your back.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Like she would care.&rdquo; He sighed. <br />&ldquo;Maybe, maybe not. Mom wasn&rsquo;t really too fond of you.&rdquo; Paro confessed. <br />&ldquo;Paro.&rdquo; Akinlana moaned, shaking his head. &ldquo; It&rsquo;s nothing you tell the boy.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;No, it&rsquo;s ok master.&rdquo; Nathari interjected. &ldquo;Kinda already knew it.&rdquo; Akinlana gave a soft grunt and lowered his head back down. <br />&ldquo;Want me to let her know though, Nath? I mean, I don&rsquo;t know. She should know you&rsquo;re at least alive.&rdquo; He decided on the spot. <br />&ldquo;Tomorrow, maybe.&rdquo; Nathari hesitantly agreed. &ldquo; But there&rsquo;s some things I want to discuss about home first.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Home? What do you mean?&rdquo; Paro questioned, leaning a little closer to his brother. <br />&ldquo;The Pride Lands. I want to know what we can do.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Nathari.&rdquo; Akinlana spoke up once more. &ldquo;Tomorrow I will speak with my sons and decide on what action to take. Nariku may argue we are spread thin lately with the hostilities we&rsquo;ve seen but. I will not stand by, and watch my own grandchild tear an entire kingdom apart just to get at his father.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Good, the sooner the better.&rdquo; Nathari agreed, resting his head alongside Saeska&rsquo;s. <br />&ldquo;Nath?&rdquo; Paro asked, Nathari gave a slight nod in response. &ldquo;I want to go with you, see these Pride Lands for myself.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Yeah?&rdquo; Nathari smiled, lifting his head a little. <br />&ldquo;So long as it&rsquo;s ok with you, master?&rdquo; Paro asked, turning to him. Akinlana briefly opened his eyes and gave his approval. Paro tapped his brothers back, breathing a small laugh. &ldquo;I wanna meet your new mom and dad, bro. See what it&rsquo;s like on the grassier side of the world.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;You&rsquo;ll love it brother, I can&rsquo;t wait to show you it.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Nathari&hellip;&rdquo; Saeska moaned, starting to stir awake she nuzzled against him, letting a small chatter escape her teeth. <br />&ldquo;What is it?&rdquo; He spoke gently, leaning down to her ear. <br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m, really thirsty.&rdquo; Nathari gave her neck a tender lick. <br />&ldquo;I got it baby.&rdquo; He whispered once more. <br />&ldquo;Nah, I got it.&rdquo; Paro interrupted. &ldquo; You keep your girl all cozy, I&rsquo;ll see what I can do about some water for ya.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Thanks Paro.&rdquo; Nathari praised, resting his head once more. Paro bounded out of the room to retrieve the water while Nathari took care to tend to his sick lover. <br /><br />With the dark concealing their bodies, Kopa and Kovu began to move on the southern border, hunting for any sign of Ghavrah or Ezeamaka. <br />&ldquo;Looks like around four antelope and three zebras.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;They took almost one to each of them.&rdquo; Kopa stated, nearly tripping over one of the bodies. He looked down on the torn open ribcage; his tongue flew out as he gagged. &ldquo;Like they hardly even tried to eat, what a waste.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Kopa!&rdquo; Kovu shouted in a hushed voice. &ldquo;Come on!&rdquo; Kopa followed behind him, leading out of the Pride Lands. They crept there way over to the camp Ezeamaka had taken to, sneaking in behind the tree. Kovu peeked out, doing a quick head count. &ldquo;Only five.&rdquo; He whispered, puzzled as to where the others could be. <br />&ldquo;Five? There should be seven with Endail back at Pride Rock right?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t see him.&rdquo; Kovu stammered lightly, looking the bodies back over. &ldquo;Either of them.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Where could they have gone?&rdquo; Kopa asked urgently, his eyes darting off in every direction, frantically searching for the two. But with no sign of either, he looked to Kovu. &ldquo; We have to get moving then. Without them here, this plans a wash Kovu. We got to get home.&rdquo; Kovu looked around, mimicking Kopa&rsquo;s pattern before fuming and laying back to the ground. <br />&ldquo;Come on.&rdquo; He whispered, leading Kopa back toward the Pride Lands. As they prowled through the grass, trying to get out of earshot of the five remaining lions it was clear Kovu was unhappy about the absence of the other two. They made it back home, seeing the hill up ahead they rose to their feet and started walking. &ldquo; Can&rsquo;t believe we missed them!&rdquo; Kovu fumed, his head fixed on the ground. <br />&ldquo;We&rsquo;ll get them Kovu, don&rsquo;t worry. We&rsquo;ll find a way to protect Amri.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;It&rsquo;s not Amri I&rsquo;m worried about.&rdquo; He swiftly countered, planting himself on the ground. Kopa sat across from him, listening as he composed himself. &ldquo;Vitani&rsquo;s always been the strong one in our family. Even when we lived in the Outlands, she was such a rock. I&rsquo;d come in after being bashed and bruised, and she&rsquo;d remind me of what I had to look forward to. She made me feel strong, and to see those freaks take that away from her.&rdquo; He shook his head, looking down. <br />&ldquo;Vitani will be alright Kovu. I might not remember everything about her, but what I do know is she grows stronger every time something challenges her. Today wasn&rsquo;t any different.&rdquo; Kopa consoled, raising his brothers chin. &ldquo;Sides, she is pregnant. Could chalk a bit of it up to that?&rdquo; He suggested with a smile. Kovu let one escape as well, letting Kopa&rsquo;s paw settle back down. <br />&ldquo;Yeah, you&rsquo;re probably right.&rdquo; Kovu agreed. Kopa joined him in a brief laugh and gazed over Kovu&rsquo;s shoulder. Off in the distance he could see two shadows moving, growing slowly closer and closer to them. <br />&ldquo;Oh no, Kovu!&rdquo; He exclaimed, pointing off behind him. Kovu swung around and took to Kopa&rsquo;s side with a low growl. They watched as the shadow grew closer, and a low laugh rush over the grass. <br />&ldquo;Well well, the two princes out here all alone.&rdquo; Ezeamaka chuckled, unveiling himself. Ghavrah appeared beside him and sat down, looking the two over with a smile. Kovu started to rile his shoulders, flashing his fangs he growled. <br />&ldquo;Well, guess we get to put you down after all.&rdquo; He threatened. Ezeamaka laughed alongside Ghavrah. <br />&ldquo;You two? Seriously?&rdquo; Ezea questioned shaking his head. &ldquo;Oh wow, I&rsquo;ve heard of some stupid ideas in my time but you right there, take the fucking prize.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Oh come now Ezea.&rdquo; Ghavrah lightly argued. &ldquo;Best not to take the soft-pawed princes too lightly. They might just shave your mane an inch or two.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Joining me in the jokes, nice.&rdquo; Ezea leaned in, whispering with a smile plastered on his face. <br />&ldquo;We are not going to let you take Amri.&rdquo; Kopa shouted. &ldquo; And I&rsquo;m tired of you threatening our home and families. No wonder your mother died from sickness, I&rsquo;m already sick of your putrid, disgusting muzzle and your whiney attitude.&rdquo; Ezeamaka slowly looked to him, the smile vanishing form his face his eyes grew wild with rage. <br />&ldquo;Don&rsquo;t you ever!-&ldquo; Ezeamaka shouted. <br />&ldquo;Talk about your mother? Thank the heavens she can&rsquo;t see what a little bitch her son has become.&rdquo; Kopa taunted once more. Ezeamaka roared, leaping at them but was caught by Ghavrah and held him back. <br />&ldquo;Compose yourself Ezea, that mouth is reminiscent of that walking lip in their pride.&rdquo; He whispered. Ezeamaka snapped to him and briefly lowered his head, taking a deep breath he glared at Kopa and growled. <br />&ldquo;Alright then, Ghavrah, you deal with these two.&quot; Ezea ordered, taking a moment to calm himself down. Ghavrah looked to the two, a wicked smiling growing across his face as if they were little more than hapless prey, waiting for him. &quot; No, killing them. Yet.&quot; He added. Ghavrah snapped at him before looking back to the two. Kovu and Kopa watched him walk off, leaving them alone with the large, old lion. <br />&quot;Alright boys, whose ready for their first lesson?&quot; He asked, glancing between the two. Kovu and Kopa readied for battle, lowering their bodies and riling up their shoulders. <br />&quot;I&#039;ll take you now!&quot; Kovu shouted, lunging for Ghavrah. Gracefully he swung aside, leaving Kovu in shock that the old lion could move so swiftly. Ghavrah struck out across his chest, hurling Kovu to the ground. Kopa came in swinging; Ghavrah parried the strikes easily for the most part. He took a few shots for Kopa&#039;s face, but he blocked them just as well. Kovu was back on his feet, lunging in he interrupted the fight with Kopa and took a few of his own swings for Ghavrah. As he brought down a paw, aimed for Kovu&#039;s face he deflected it away, exposing his chest Kovu took a shot to his ribs and struck his chin with another blow. Ghavrah backed off, wiping his lip and checked for blood. <br />&quot;Good boys, good. I did hope you wouldn&#039;t just lay down and die.&quot; He complimented, taking to his calm posture again. <br />Kovu wrestled with him for a few moments, struggling to sink his teeth into the old lion&rsquo;s throat. Ghavrah was kicking him off, enough to get Kovu&#039;s hind legs off of him. Kopa rushed in to get them under control, grasping his legs; he tried to put his weight on them, to give Kovu any advantage against him. Ghavrah growled, in a burst of anger, he shoved his paw into Kovu&#039;s mouth, gagging him and disorienting him. He took a shot across his face and threw him on the ground, Kovu coughed over and over, while Kopa lost control of his legs, taking a stray shot to the face as well, cutting his cheek down to the muzzle.<br />Ghavrah turned on Kovu, rushing to him he threw him up on his hind legs. Holding him up, he smiled glaring into his eyes. Kovu was bewildered, unmoving. Ghavrah grasped under his arms, hoisting him up slightly he slammed Kovu&#039;s face to the ground. Winding up he took a shot across the back of his head, spinning him over onto his back. Kovu cried out in agony, his eyes shut tight, starting to tear as his nose took the brunt of the fall. Kopa rejoined the fight, swinging for Ghavrah&#039;s face once more. Ghavrah blocked the first few before taking Kopa up as well. <br />This time he was ready. Kopa&#039;s jaw was snared, just below his ear, he could feel the teeth sinking in, the pressure building up. <br />Kovu tried to pin the old lion once again. Straddling across his belly he started to barrage the old lions face. <br />&quot;Enough!!&quot; Ghavrah shouted, catching one of Kovu&#039;s blows he blew an incredible shot across his face. Kovu saw stars from this strike, even a ringing in his ears began to hum. In another swift blow, he kicked across Kovu&#039;s stomach, his claws extended, he sliced his belly wide. &quot;Look upon your kin, Pride Lander, and look well. Soon, you will all die at my feet.&quot; He warned, tossing his muzzle back down. &quot;Ezeamaka asked me not to kill you. But you will die of that wound, rest assured boy. Be thankful, you perish before I rip the head off your tit-sucking cub before your eyes.&quot; <br />Ghavrah walked away, heading back towards the southern border. Kopa slowly rose to his feet, dizzy and exhausted; he could feel the blood trickling down his face, dripping on the ground. Looking over to Kovu, he shuddered in horror. His heart began to pound, as his clarity returned, realizing the danger he was in. <br />&quot;Kovu, oh no!&quot; He cried out, rushing to his side. He looked to his brother&#039;s face, then to the wound on his belly. Blood was seeping out, dripping on the ground. A small protrusion of his innards showed as well. Kopa pressed on the wound, causing Kovu to cry out in agony. The mangled flesh concealed his organs once more, but there was no doubt, without immediate attention, Kovu was dying. &quot;Kovu you hang on, ok!? Just stay with me!&quot; Kopa shouted, shaking Kovu&#039;s face. He could barely concentrate on Kopa&rsquo;s panicked face as he struggled to stay conscious. Kopa took himself under Kovu&rsquo;s arm, and slowly moved his weight onto his back. &ldquo;Keep a tight grip with your legs, don&rsquo;t let that wound get any wider, you got it?&rdquo; Kopa ordered, Kovu softly huffed gripping Kopa&rsquo;s sides with his legs quite tightly. <br />Dashing off toward home, he did his best to be careful not to dump him off his back. Kovu was barely keeping himself conscious enough to grip, and the threat of falling off and worsening his injuries was very real. Pride Rock was in ear shot, and wasting no time Kopa called for help.<br />&ldquo;Help!! Anyone!&rdquo; At first no one seemed to answer, but calling out again as he reached the base of the ramp snared the attention he desired. <br />&ldquo;Kopa? What&rsquo;s wrong?!&rdquo; Simba cried out, rushing for the entrance to the den. Kopa met him there, taking Kovu passed him. The trail of blood leaking down his side was proof enough the night had gone horribly wrong. &ldquo;Oh no, Kovu.&rdquo; Simba breathed, taking to his side. <br />&ldquo;Kovu!&rdquo; Kiara cried, rushing to her lover&rsquo;s side. She aided Kopa in bringing him down to the ground and cradled his head in her paws. &ldquo;Kovu, please speak to me.&rdquo; She cried, stroking his head with her own. <br />&ldquo;Kiara.&rdquo; He stammered, his breathing growing short. <br />&ldquo;Zazu! Get Rafiki now!&rdquo; Simba bellowed, the shock of his voice alone sent Zazu in the air as he hastily left the den. Amri and Hakima joined the group now gather around Kovu and took a closer look at the wound. Amri saw the protrusion starting to form from his stomach and shook his head. <br />&ldquo;Boy you grit your teeth this is gonna hurt.&rdquo; He warned. Pressing down on the wound, he felt the blood seep through his paws as Kovu cried out in agony. <br />&ldquo;Stop it your killing him!&rdquo; Kiara protested. Hakima was quick to turn to her. <br />&ldquo;No child, Amri must put pressure on the wound or he my bleed out.&rdquo; She insisted. Kiara watched her lover writhe in pain, panting and gasping in her arms. <br />&ldquo;Please hang on, Kovu.&rdquo; She moaned, bracing her head against his. Dasha peaked out from the other lionesses, seeing his father on the ground, tended to by everyone. In a burst of fear, he leapt from them to his father&rsquo;s side. <br />&ldquo;Daddy!!&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Dasha, no!&rdquo; Amri shouted, but it was too late. To his horror he saw his father&rsquo;s blood, the wounds edges behind Amri&rsquo;s paw. <br />&ldquo;Daddy, what happened?&rdquo; He whimpered, lowering down to the ground. Kopa scooped him up, taking him off from the sight. &ldquo; No! Uncle Kopa put me down!&rdquo; He protested. He struggled for a little and managed to wriggle himself free. Aurok and Stara rushed in to intercept him. <br />&ldquo;Cuzzy, wait!&rdquo; Aurok barked, holding him down.<br />&ldquo;Dasha.&rdquo; Kopa interrupted. &ldquo; We&rsquo;ll take good care of your daddy, he&rsquo;s been hurt and we need to treat his wound ok?&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Kopa, let him come here.&rdquo; Hakima ordered, gesturing to Kovu&rsquo;s head. &ldquo;Aurok, Stara, come as well, give your cousin some comfort here, he is frightened.&rdquo; The boys crawled into Kiara&rsquo;s arms, tucked in atop Kovu&rsquo;s head. Dasha licked his father&rsquo;s head, whimpering a little as the tears started to escape.<br />&ldquo;Daddy, are you gonna be ok?&rdquo; He cried softly. Kovu struggled to answer, but couldn&rsquo;t get the words out. In a shudder he struggled to keep himself awake. Kiara licked Dasha&rsquo;s head, speaking on his father&rsquo;s behalf. <br />&ldquo;Daddy will be ok; he just needs us to stay with him. Keep him warm.&rdquo; She stammered as well, trying to keep her composure. Dasha leaned into his father&rsquo;s head, crying while Aurok and Stara did their best to cuddle and comfort him. <br />&ldquo;He&rsquo;ll be ok, Dashy.&rdquo; Stara whispered, kissing Dasha&rsquo;s neck. <br />&ldquo;We&rsquo;re here for ya cuzzy.&rdquo; Aurok chipped in as well. It took him some time, but Rafiki finally arrived with leaves and herbs in tow. Without hesitation he began to treat Kovu&rsquo;s wounds while Kiara cradled the crying cubs in her arms. <br /><br />Simba sat atop Pride Rock alongside Kopa. He explained the night&rsquo;s events, the fight with Ghavrah and of Kovu&rsquo;s plan. Simba shook his head most of the time, greatly disappointed in their bullheaded plan to strike against them.<br />&ldquo;Kopa you should have known better!&rdquo; He scolded lightly. <br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m sorry father. We knew they were strong, but it sounded like a good plan.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Ghavrah you say is the one who did this? The old one?&rdquo; Simba questioned once more. Kopa nodded and looked away briefly, trying to distance his eyes from his father. &ldquo; That son of a bitch. Kopa, if Kovu doesn&rsquo;t make it through this, I swear, uh-&ldquo; He interrupted himself, seeing Rafiki leave the den to join them. His head hung low as he hobbled to the top, settling down with a grunt. <br />&ldquo;How is he?&rdquo; Kopa asked eagerly. <br />&ldquo;The boy might live. His chances are fair. Kiara must keep watch of him the whole of the night; if he stops breathing there will be little chance to save him.&rdquo; He explained, glancing back inside. <br />&ldquo;Maybe I can help, Kiara won&rsquo;t do well with staying up all night.&rdquo; Kopa suggested, scratching his cheek with a flinch. Rafiki turned to him in surprised and grabbed his head, turning it and revealing the wounds on his face. <br />&ldquo;Boy, when did you get these?&rdquo; He demanded. <br />&ldquo;Ghavrah bit me during the fight.&rdquo; He replied, as Rafiki turned his head to and fro. In a huff he dashed back inside. Just as quickly he came out with a hollowed out fruit. Rubbing his fingers in it, he smeared the paste on Kopa&rsquo;s wounds. <br />&ldquo;Ahh!!&rdquo; he cried out, as a sharp stinging pain hit with every wipe on his face. <br />&ldquo;Don&rsquo;t be a big baby.&rdquo; He chuckled. <br />&ldquo;You didn&rsquo;t tell me you got hurt, son.&rdquo; Simba said softly, moving a little closer to his sons face. <br />&ldquo;Wasn&rsquo;t bad.&rdquo; He dismissed. &ldquo;Just hurt while he had me in his jaws.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;There, should heal up well now.&rdquo; Rafiki smiled, satisfied with his work. <br />&ldquo;This battle has gone on long enough.&rdquo; Simba stated, looking back out. <br />&ldquo;Father?&rdquo; Kopa asked, intrigued by his father&rsquo;s words.<br />&ldquo;First they invade our kingdom. Slaughter the game and mutilate it. Attack your adopted son, try to rape Saeska, preying on our hunters and now they may have murdered my son.&rdquo; He growled, his voice growing louder and louder. &ldquo;I will not tolerate this, anymore!&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;What&rsquo;s the plan dad?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;We start hunting in force. I want you, Asani, Amri everyone guarding the huntresses. Cut them off from any food they can get out here. I&rsquo;ll give Nala and Vitani three days to prepare the girls. Amri may help to. After that, we raid there camp, and wipe them out.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;The entire kingdom?&rdquo; Kopa asked in bewilderment. <br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll leave two or three to guard our cubs and Kovu, but that is all. I will not tolerate this intimidation, this butcher and his band of murderers will die for what they have done!&rdquo; Simba announced, slamming his foot down. <br />&ldquo;Boy, do not take their lives in anger!&rdquo; Rafiki interjected. <br />&ldquo;I will not take the life of that old one myself, no. I won&rsquo;t have revenge, but nor will I let them carry on with their plans. Kopa, inform Ni of our plans. Have him start preparations tomorrow to start hunting in force.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;You got it dad.&rdquo; Kopa agreed eagerly. He darted for the entrance but paused just before to look back. &ldquo;Dad, about tonight. I&rsquo;m really sorry.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;I love you son, and I forgive you.&rdquo; Simba smiled back to him. <br />&ldquo;I love you too, dad.&rdquo; <br /><br />Paro lay across from his brother, who was still fast asleep with Saeska in his arms. Reaching across he started tapping on Nathari&rsquo;s head repeatedly, trying to coax him awake. <br />&ldquo;Comon sleepy head. Rise and shine.&rdquo; Nathari moaned, but didn&rsquo;t wake. Paro continued his barrage on Nathari&rsquo;s head in futility a while longer, deciding on a more direct approach. Getting up he walked around to Nathari&rsquo;s exposed tail, with a wicked grin he stepped directly on the tip. <br />&ldquo;YEEEOW!&rdquo; Nathari hollered, nearly throwing Saeska off of him. The furs prevented this thankfully. Looking behind him he saw his brother on the floor laughing his head off. &ldquo;Damn it Paro! Why&rsquo;d you have to wake me up like that, I coulda hurt Saeska!&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Oh, lighten up little bro, you&rsquo;ve been asleep almost all morning. Akinlana&rsquo;s even out for his walk already.&rdquo; He informed him, pointing to the vacant grass bed across the cave. Nathari gave it a quick glance but returned his attention to Saeska immediately. Rubbing her shoulder he tried to stir her awake. She moaned a little, tossing some of the furs off her as she started to wake. <br />&ldquo;Nathari?&rdquo; She asked softly. <br />&ldquo;Yeah love?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Can you grab me some breakfast please?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Breakfast?&rdquo; Paro asked, over hearing her. &ldquo;Honey it&rsquo;s in the hall here, I saved you two a little something.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Thanks Paro.&rdquo; Nathari smiled. &ldquo;Want me to grab it for you?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Please?&rdquo; She smiled as well, rubbing his arm. <br />&ldquo;Oh no.&rdquo; Paro interjected. &ldquo;Nath comon, can&rsquo;t have you two slumming around the dens all day.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;How are you feeling?&rdquo; He asked. <br />&ldquo;Mm, head hurts but, not as icky feeling as I was.&rdquo; She replied, struggling to her feet. Nathari let her use him as a crutch to get up. They slowly followed behind Paro, walking the hallway to the main chamber. Once there Paro gestured off towards the wall far to the right. Three antelope legs were piled together, waiting for them. <br />&ldquo;See, don&rsquo;t your brother come through for ya?&rdquo; Paro chuckled, walking toward the food. <br />&ldquo;Thank you, Paro.&rdquo; Saeska said softly, heading toward the food. Nathari took a leg and pushed another toward her. Paro sat across and watched them eat for a bit. <br />&ldquo;Bro, aren&rsquo;t you having the third one?&rdquo; Nathari asked between gulps. <br />&ldquo;Nah nah, I already ate. I figured you two could split the third.&rdquo; He explained. <br />&ldquo;There you are!&rdquo; A voice called from the entrance. A lioness began to rush in aimed straight for Paro. He covered his face with his paw and sighed, shaking his head. &ldquo;Oh come on now baby, who&rsquo;s mommas great warrior!&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Mother, perhaps you can see I&rsquo;m busy?&rdquo; He argued. She continued to barrage her questions while Nathari simply stared a little slack jawed. Saeska giggled and bumped his backside with hers. <br />&ldquo;Close your mouth lover, you might catch flies.&rdquo; She joked. <br />&ldquo;She doesn&rsquo;t even notice me.&rdquo; He whispered, lowering his head. <br />&ldquo;Shh.&rdquo; She hushed, kissing his cheek. &ldquo; Her loss.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Mom!&rdquo; Paro finally barked a little louder. &ldquo; We have company, do you mind?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Oh please, they&rsquo;re eating let them be.&rdquo; She dismissed, waving them off. <br />&ldquo;Don&rsquo;t even recognize him, do you?&rdquo; He questioned, flustered by her ignorance of Nathari right before her. <br />&ldquo;Now see, why do you always have to be so negative Paro? I flatter and flatter and all I get from you is just the nastiest-&ldquo; <br />&ldquo;Mom! Look at him.&rdquo; He insisted, pointing to Nathari. She heaved a sigh and gave him a quick glance, huffing she turned back to Paro. <br />&ldquo;He&rsquo;s cute, but it looks like he&rsquo;s spoken for.&rdquo; Paro just shook his head once again and looked to Nathari. <br />&ldquo;Should I even?&rdquo; He asked Nathari. <br />&ldquo;Should you even what, what should you even Paro?&rdquo; Nathari sighed as well, but gave his approval to tell her. <br />&ldquo;She deserves to know at least.&rdquo; Nathari replied. <br />&ldquo;Know what?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Mom. That&rsquo;s Nathari, your son.&rdquo; He stated firmly, pointing to her lost son. <br />&ldquo;What?&rdquo; She wondered, glancing to him, her eyes squinting as she looked him over once more. &ldquo;Oh Paro, Nathari died with Ezeamaka&rsquo;s group a while ago.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;I survived, no thanks to him.&rdquo; Nathari said, looking away from her. <br />&ldquo;Hey now young lion, do not go bad mouthing the bloodline of our king or we&rsquo;ll have you out on your ass.&rdquo; Rayyan retorted. <br />&ldquo;Mom, Ezeamaka tried to kill him. That girl there, her pride found him and saved his life.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;It&rsquo;s true.&rdquo; Saeska confirmed, staring Rayyan down unimpressed with her tone. She turned to Saeska and scowled. <br />&ldquo;Well I suppose as long as you say it, it must be true huh, outsider?&rdquo; She scoffed. <br />&ldquo;She, is Prince Amri&rsquo;s daughter.&rdquo; Paro corrected. &ldquo;Best not insult the bloodline of our king, mother.&rdquo; He grinned, glancing briefly to the entrance.<br />&ldquo;Prince Amri.&rdquo; She scoffed once more, rising to her feet, she started pacing the room. &ldquo;Oh he&rsquo;s a real prince isn&rsquo;t he? Murders his brother then flees, abandoning his mate and son. Oh yes, I hardly have to insult that. He&rsquo;s done quite a fine job making a fool of himself.&rdquo; Saeska roared, lunging for Rayyan she pinned her to the ground, meeting her face with her fangs. <br />&ldquo;Don&rsquo;t you ever! Talk about my father like that again, you bitch!&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Saeska!&rdquo; Nariku called sitting at the entrance. &ldquo;Get off of her.&rdquo; Saeska fumed and resumed her place beside Nathari. <br />&ldquo;Thank you sire.&rdquo; Rayyan bowed. <br />&ldquo;Be silent, harlot.&rdquo; He curtly interrupted. &ldquo;I heard what you said about my brother, not a word of it the truth. If I catch you speaking ill of my family or spreading such rumors you will be banished without a moment&rsquo;s notice! Are we clear?!&rdquo; Rayyan cowered a little at the thought and immediately apologized. <br />&ldquo;Yes sire, my apologies.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Nathari, when you have finished eating come with me. Saeska, if you are feeling better you are welcome too.&rdquo; Nariku instructed. <br />&ldquo;Yes sire, I&rsquo;ll be there shortly.&rdquo; Nathari replied with a short bow. Rayyan shot a look back to Nathari. She seemed in shock, she heard the king himself call him by name. <br />&ldquo;Nathari?&rdquo; She stammered. <br />&ldquo;Rayyan, get out. You&rsquo;ve wasted enough of their time today.&rdquo; Nariku ordered. She darted to him and hung her head. She rushed out the door and avoided any eye contact with him. Nariku gave a brief nod to the others inside. &ldquo;I&rsquo;ll be right outside.&rdquo; Paro smiled looking at the two. <br />&ldquo;You know, I almost hate to do that to her. But the way she treated you sometimes, psh. I just don&rsquo;t give a fuck anymore.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;She mistreated you?&rdquo; Saeska questioned. <br />&ldquo;Sort of.&rdquo; Nathari confessed. <br />&ldquo;Nah, mistreated maybe isn&rsquo;t the word. More like, forgot you even existed.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Mother used to forget to bring me food. She&rsquo;d get really mad if she had to go back out for me, so sometimes I hunted the lizards and stuff on the rocks. How I got good at climbing.&rdquo; Nathari explained. <br />&ldquo;Like you had a choice. Was get food or die.&rdquo; Paro threw in. <br />&ldquo;She&rsquo;d bring me kills sometimes, but the rest of the time, she was really centered on the girls and Paro. If it wasn&rsquo;t for him sharing his food when he could, I probably would have starved.&rdquo; Saeska smiled looking to him, while Paro tried to hide his face in embarrassment. She rose to her feet once again, snagging his head she kissed it. <br />&ldquo;Thank you, for taking such good care of my goofy lover.&rdquo; She chuckled. <br />&ldquo;Ah, no problem my lady. He&rsquo;s a good kid, I couldn&rsquo;t just let my brother starve like that.&rdquo; He laughed as well. Saeska settled in and finished eating the last few bits of her breakfast along with Nathari. Giving a brief stretch and yawn, Nathari gave his brother a quick nod and headed toward the door. Outside Nariku was sitting, watching the rushing waters near the hall. <br />&ldquo;Sire!&rdquo; Paro called out, bouncing over to him with a smile. <br />&ldquo;Ahh, Paro. Good to see you. Are you on patrols near Sana today?&rdquo; He asked cheerfully. <br />&ldquo;No sir, reassigned by Master Akinlana, I&rsquo;m to stay with my brother and assist with the Pride Lands incident.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Oh so my father is overriding me now?&rdquo; He laughed softly. Paro shied away a little, scratching his head. <br />&ldquo;Sorry my lord.&rdquo; Nariku pat his head and smiled. <br />&ldquo;So, you two. This is my lovely niece is it?&rdquo; Nariku asked, looking to Saeska. She came forward a little and bowed politely. <br />&ldquo;Pleasure to meet you my lord.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Oh no you don&rsquo;t. My girl, any son or daughter of my brothers may call me by name. Or uncle if you insist.&rdquo; He suggested, giving her cheek a quick nuzzle. <br />&ldquo;Thanks uncle.&rdquo; She giggled, watching him seat himself before them. <br />&ldquo;There are a million things I&rsquo;d love to ask about Amri. It&#039;s no secret I miss my little brother. But I know this matter you have been sent on is more urgent right now, so let&rsquo;s discuss.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;The short version uncle, is that Ezeamaka has attacked us in the Pride Lands.&rdquo; She hid her face a little before she started again. &ldquo; One of those attacks, was on me.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Oh?&rdquo; Nariku wondered, leaning in a little closer. <br />&ldquo;He tried to rape me just outside of Pride Rock.&rdquo; Nariku closed his eyes, shaking his head in disappointment. <br />&ldquo;That cock sucker.&rdquo; Paro said, not even realizing the insult escaped his lips. <br />&ldquo;I beg you are kidding, my girl.&rdquo; Nariku questioned, his eyes still closed. <br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m sorry.&rdquo; Seaska affirmed, hanging her head. Nariku took a long deep breath before unveiling his eyes. <br />&ldquo;What other atrocities has my nephew committed?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;He murdered Kamili.&rdquo; Nathari spoke up. &ldquo;Tried to murder me, abandoned his mission from Akinlana, to stalk the far north western plains for Amri. He&rsquo;s recruited rogues along with Endail, Ghavrah and Tarok, and at any moment now, he&rsquo;ll go for his father&rsquo;s head and kill everyone in his way.&rdquo; He explained as his voice escalated. <br />&ldquo;These are serious crimes boy.&rdquo; Nariku grumbled to Nathari. &ldquo;Saeska, my niece, is any of this the truth?&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;It&rsquo;s all the truth. Right now, we have a lot of males in our pride that can probably hold them off, but I don&rsquo;t know for how long.&rdquo; She replied. Nariku closed his eyes once more, thinking deeply on the situation. <br />&ldquo;If only my nephew was a little more patient, his timing could not be more atrocious.&rdquo; He began, looking to Saeska. &ldquo; You see, we have had recent hostilities with a few lions from the Fangclash pride, about two days travel south of us. Since then, we have had to toughen our borders and expand our patrols during the night. My son, Yari has been working the edge of southern Sana hills, I&#039;m surprised you never bumped into him on your journey here. Our boys here are run ragged. Panthers from the nearby forest, rival males with the gall to strike at our lionesses, struggling to keep our hunting patterns balanced. We are stretched so very thin right now.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Uncle, we must do something.&rdquo; She pleaded. <br />&ldquo;Tomorrow I leave for Fangclash Bay. I&rsquo;ll be meeting with the king and trying to strike a deal to end the hostilities. With our borders secure, I can spare a dozen lions and lionesses to aid you. But this would take a week at the very least.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;But that&rsquo;s too long!&rdquo; Saeska protested. &ldquo; He&rsquo;ll kill my daddy long before we can get there!&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;We&rsquo;d need the assistance right away. Leaving tomorrow morning would be the best.&rdquo; Nathari insisted. <br />&ldquo;Boy, I have no one. Absolutely no one. Seventeen males live here not counting my family and while nine of them patrol the night, the other eight cover the day. Including your brother by the way, which means we are going to be short this afternoon.&rdquo; Nariku explained in frustration. <br />&ldquo;Is there any hope?&rdquo; Paro asked. <br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;d go myself to see it done. Believe me; I have no quarrels with suspending that boy by his tail and whipping the foolishness from his backside. But my kingdoms needs must take precedence. I&rsquo;m so very, very sorry. Talk with my father, perhaps there is a way that eludes me.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Very well, my lord.&rdquo; Nathari bowed, it was quite disappointing. He had hoped Nariku could have spared at least someone to come to their aid right away. <br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll take my leave for now. Father will be back soon, head inside and await him.&rdquo; He advised, giving the trio a brief bow. <br />&ldquo;Thank you sire.&rdquo; Paro replied, returning the favor. Their heads hung low as the wondered back inside. Paro flopped to the ground as Nathari and Saeska rest side by side before him. <br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll do all I can little brother. But I can&rsquo;t beat Ezea or Ghavrah on my own.&rdquo; Paro began to say, scratching his head. <br />&ldquo;I know.&rdquo; Nathari agreed. &ldquo; We&rsquo;ll figure out something.&rdquo;<br /><br />Back at home, Kovu continued to shiver in pain well into the morning. <br />&ldquo;Where are the cubs again?&rdquo; Vitani asked, letting a yawn escape. <br />&ldquo;Mmm, there with Keyah. I couldn&rsquo;t handle Dasha crying like that; it got me going so easily.&rdquo; Kiara moaned, half awake. Vitani kissed her brothers neck and rested her head upon it. <br />&ldquo;Shh, Kovu. You made the night, you&rsquo;ll be ok.&rdquo; She whispered, stroking his arm. <br />&ldquo;Kinu, Sierra!&rdquo; Ni called out, appearing in the entrance.<br />&ldquo;Yeah?&rdquo; They answered in unison. <br />&ldquo;Gonna need you and Hakima to hunt today with Ysura. We&rsquo;re rallying out front.&rdquo; Kinu rose up quickly while Sierra took her time. Pausing for a moment before Vitani she leaned down for a kiss. Giving her lips a quick smack, Vitani pat her cheek and smiled. <br />&ldquo;Be careful lover girl.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;I got it.&rdquo; Sierra grinned. &ldquo; You rest that pretty little ass of yours, an take good care of your brother.&rdquo; Vitani nodded in approval and watched the girls head outside. Sierra was met by Asani who walked with her out towards the others. Simba was pacing back and forth, eagerly awaiting the hunting crew, halting now and then to glance at Endail. Amri picked up on this, standing next to him and leaned in. <br />&ldquo;You sure you&rsquo;re ok with this, nephew?&rdquo; He asked softly. <br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m fine, Uncle. They just better realize I&rsquo;m not going to hurt my cousin.&rdquo; He insisted. Amri pat his back gently and nodded. <br />&ldquo;I understand.&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Alright listen up.&rdquo; Simba began. &ldquo;Hakima, Kinu and Sierra. I want you girls to keep to the usual pattern. According to Zazu, some of the prey have shifted further to the south east. It&rsquo;s close to where those beasts are held up. Ni, Asani, you&rsquo;re with me. Amri, Endail you stay as close to the girls as possible but remain out of sight. Ysura will lead a small squad to follow shortly after to relay back our kills and reinforce our numbers. Remember, our meeting place is the preys watering hole, if you get attacked, bring them there. Zazu will let us know and we&rsquo;ll pin them in and kill whoever attacks.&rdquo; Endail gave a small grunt, looking away from Simba. Simba&rsquo;s gaze turned to him in disproval. &ldquo;Problem?&rdquo; He questioned harshly. <br />&ldquo;No..Sir.&rdquo; He mockingly replied. <br />&ldquo;Good. Amri, keep a close eye on him.&rdquo; Simba ordered. <br /><br />Ghavrah and Theron moved cautiously through the grasslands. Heading north just out of sight of Pride Rock. Ghavrah had one place and one place alone in mind, the Elephant Graveyard. <br />&quot;The Graveyard huh sir?&quot; Theron asked casually, keeping close to Ghavrahs lumbering body. &quot; My great lord, enlighten me on what you desire out of that place.&quot; Ghavrah gave a brief snarl as he snapped to Theron. Looking ahead once more he explained. <br />&quot;There are stalagmites there, rock formations that come to a very fine point. I hope to find something usable.&quot; <br />&quot;Stalagmites you say? Sir, you seem quite capable of handling yourself in a fight, what in the world do you need a weapon for?&quot; Theron questioned. <br />&quot;Unlike my pupil, I do not gamble on fate in a battle. Skewering Simba through the heart with those will crush the Pridelanders spirits quite swiftly.&quot; He elaborated, passing into the first cave of the grave yard. &quot;Ahh yes, here we are.&quot; He stated with a smile, gazing up to the roof. <br />&quot;I see my lord. Now the question becomes how to retrieve such a thing.&quot; <br />&quot;The ones on the roof will not suffice you buffoon, we must search the formations here upon the ground.&quot; He corrected, looking on to the caverns further in. A wicked smile grew as he moved towards a more sulfurous smelling one, near the back end. The entrance was little more than a crack, and difficult to squeeze through. Pushing through with a huff he searched frantically inside, the smell of the sulfur rising from the den ahead was burning his nose. <br />&quot;Ugh, this stench could kill on its own.&quot; Theron whined. <br />&quot;Silence, and lighten your breathing.&quot; Ghavrah ordered. His eyes grew wide, finding in the corner a pinnacle he desired. &quot; There.&quot; He breathed in excitement, running his paw from the ground to the tip of the rock. &quot;Perfect, boy, find a solid stone. Now!&quot; He barked. <br />&quot;Impressive sir.&quot; Theron complimented, coughing from the fumes. &quot; Can we go now please?&quot; <br />&quot;Yes, this will do nicely.&quot; Ghavrah agreed, admiring the newly formed weapon. The rock fragment he had collected was just shy of three feet in length, the tip, sharpened by the snap he made with the first blow while the base was smooth and slanted. &quot; You see this boy?&quot; He laughed, picking it up in his jaws. He grazed the point across Theron&#039;s shoulder, splitting the skin and causing him to flinch. <br />&quot;Ah!&quot; he cried out sharply. &quot; That thing-&quot;<br />&quot;Come.&quot; Ghavrah managed to say, the rock gagging him lightly. &quot; We have little time.&quot;<br /><br />Saeska, Nathari and Paro awaited Akinlana&rsquo;s call inside the hall. Nariku, Tasani and Khiros sat together, there mates not far off as they ate away at their evening meals. <br />&ldquo;Did you get to visit Jelani?&rdquo; Paro asked, trying to strike up a conversation to break the boredom. <br />&ldquo;Yeah, I got to visit my uncle.&rdquo; Saeska nodded briefly, looking back to the ground, her paw circling. <br />&ldquo;She&rsquo;s been a little mopey since our talk with Nariku.&rdquo; Nathari explained, glancing to the king. <br />&ldquo;Figured as much. We&#039;ll see what Akinlana has to say.&quot; <br />&quot;What I have to say about what?&quot; Akinlana announced, entering inside. With a smile he walked with Varika as she guided him gently to the ground nearby. <br />&quot;Nariku told us he won&#039;t have anyone to spare for about a week or so.&quot; Nathari answered him, hanging his head. Akinlana brushed his chin. <br />&quot;I see. Aside from perhaps you, Paro?&quot; <br />&quot;Yeah, maybe.&quot; <br />&quot;No maybe about it.&quot; Akinlana sighed. &quot; You know, my grandson is being driven by hatred and anger, but the others with him only follow because they respect our system of command. Perhaps if someone senior were to intervene on the Pride Lands behalf, they would relent and leave Ezea alone to fend for himself.&quot; <br />&quot;What about Ghavrah?&quot; Nathari questioned. Akinlana growled, slamming his paw on the ground. The three were shocked a moment, giving him a moment to speak. <br />&quot;Ghavrah has, and always will be our greatest liability. I believe the time has come to put him where he cannot harm another living soul.&quot; He replied, returning to his usual more calm state. &quot;There&#039;s little time. If we are to act, the action must be taken quickly.&quot; <br />&quot;Yes Grampa, but just Paro alone won&#039;t be enough.&quot; Saeska perked up.<br />&quot;No, I suspect he won&#039;t. But I will.&quot; Akinlana smiled, seemingly glancing to his granddaughter. <br />&quot;Master?&quot; Paro and Nathari breathed in unison. <br />&quot;My body is old, but far beyond useless. I will travel with you to the Pride Lands and deal with this myself.&quot; <br />&quot;No!&quot; Varika interjected, grasping his shoulder. &quot; My lord, your tenacity is commendable but you risk too much taking a voyage like that.&quot; <br />&quot;There is far greater risk to the lives within an innocent kingdom if I remain here, doing little more than wishing them well.&quot; He countered, releasing from her grip. &quot;Nathari, Saeska, Paro. We shall journey to the Pride Lands together. I will help you quell this conflict, perhaps most important. I will hold my son one last time before my days are counted.&quot; Nathari and Paro rose up and gave a solemn bow. <br />&quot;Thank you master!&quot; Nathari cried out, so relieved to know he was coming along. Saeska began inching closer to Akinlana, settling just under his chin. <br />&quot;Granddaddy.&quot; She cooed. <br />&quot;Yes, my child?&quot; <br />&quot;Thank you.&quot; She sighed in relief, nuzzling under his chin. Akinlana chuckled, reaching for her arm. <br />&quot;My sweet grandchild, your father has raised a miracle of a daughter.&quot; <br /><br />As night came upon them, Simba sat aside Kovu&#039;s moaning body. Though conscious it was clear from his face the pain he was suffering. The wound that bled through leaf after leaf has subsided, but turned to a horrible ache. Kiara had hardly moved, keeping her husband&#039;s head cradled in her arms. She occasionally lay atop it to close her eyes and sleep for a few moments. Dasha remained cuddled up in Kovu&#039;s arms, his crying had relented but his worry had not. <br />Simba stroked Kovu&#039;s back, giving what little comfort he could. Kopa sat and watched while Keyah cleansed his wounds with Aurok and Stara planted in his arms. Looking up to his father he asked. <br />&quot;Daddy?&quot; <br />&quot;Hmm? What is it son?&quot; <br />&quot;When&#039;s Nathari and Saeska coming home?&quot; Kopa took a deep breath, slowly shaking his head. <br />&quot;I don&#039;t know. Hopefully soon. I guess they&#039;ll take however long they need to convince them to help us.&quot; He explained, patting his sons head. <br />&quot;But dad, I miss him.&quot; Aurok whined, trying to hide from his father&#039;s paw. Stara giggled a little, taking a tug at his tale. <br />&quot;Bet you don&#039;t want him hearing about that when he comes home.&quot; She taunted lightly. <br />&quot;Hey!&quot; <br />&quot;Come on you two.&quot; Keyah interjected. &quot;Nathari will be home soon enough, right now we just have to figure out what to do until they get here.&quot; Ni had walked over along with Asani and stood before Kopa. Looking down to him, they gave a quick nod to the door. Kopa sighed and reluctantly rose up. <br />&quot;I&#039;ll be back, my love.&quot; <br />&quot;Don&#039;t take long.&quot; She smiled, Kopa leaned down for a brief kiss. Joining them he followed outside with Amri, Endail and Simba not far behind. They sat in circle just outside the entrance to Pride Rock. <br />&quot;Amri?&quot; Ni spoke up first.<br />&quot;Yes?&quot; He asked, glancing to him. <br />&quot;I&#039;m so sorry.&quot; Ni apologized, bowing his head. Amri gave a more concerned look and asked. <br />&quot;For what?&quot; <br />&quot;I did what I thought was best when I took over for you but, I don&#039;t feel right about it. Please, take lordship back, it&#039;s your honor, not mine.&quot; Ni affirmed, extending his paw to Amri. He smiled and happily took it. <br />&quot;I love you boy. You&#039;ve nothing to apologize for, I accept.&quot; He chuckled heartily. Simba decided to speak up next, feeling a small well of rage in his heart build up. <br />&quot;Amri, you may keep lordship but keep in mind one thing.&quot; He barked, looking to him. &quot; If that monster dares set one ill paw in my kingdom, I&#039;ll rip it off.&quot; <br />&quot;Simba.&quot; Amri sighed. <br />&quot;No, dad, listen to me.&quot; Kopa insisted, cutting him off. &quot;Ghavrah is the one who tried to kill Kovu. Ezeamaka even warned him not to do it, but he went ahead anyway.&quot; <br />&quot;Kopa, he knew exactly what Ghavrah would do.&quot; Endail argued. &quot; My cousin is lost to rage and he works in tandem with Ghavrah. The two might fight over little things here or there, but he knows to play up the more innocent factor to get to you, uncle.&quot; <br />&quot;I see.&quot; Amri sighed, shaking his head. &quot; What has become of my son?&quot; <br />&quot;Enough with the self pity!&quot; Asani blurted out. &quot;Fuck me, just a few fucking days ago you were ready to put this cock sucker in the ground.&quot; <br />&quot;Asani, it&#039;s his son!&quot; Ni countered. <br />&quot;What son!?&quot; He fired back. &quot; What fucking bullshit son? We&#039;ve known Amri for years, I ain&#039;t never seen him raise anything but speed freak! Amri, listen to me alright? He&#039;s not your son!&quot; He shouted, giving each word its own punch. &quot; You had been through enough, you told us what happened and not one of your own family back home is blaming you cept that little fucking murderer out there flaunting your blood. You can&#039;t let him play on your emotions like he has been.&quot;<br />&quot;You know I&#039;d hate to say it but, Asani&#039;s dead on.&quot; Kopa agreed. Asani swiftly turned to Kopa. <br />&quot;Thank you!&quot; He praised.<br />&quot;Amri he&#039;s gonna use your feelings toward him to take you out of the picture and weaken us. We&#039;re pretty tough; you&#039;ve trained us really well. But considering the fact there&#039;s only five of us able to fight against the seven of them, if we lose you were in serious trouble.&quot; Kopa explained. Endail shifted his glance to Kopa and smiled. <br />&quot;Counted me out, have you?&quot; <br />&quot;I am.&quot; Ni agreed. &quot;I wouldn&#039;t let you fight at our side and risk you turning on us.&quot; <br />&quot;You&#039;re too close.&quot; Asani nodded. <br />&quot;But a fight is coming.&quot; Simba stated, snaring everyone&#039;s attention. &quot;Another one. This will be the third time I&#039;ve had to fight just to save my home, and I&#039;m not even as old as my father was when he died.&quot; Asani hung his head. <br />&quot;Shitty.&quot; <br />&quot;Amri?&quot; Simba asked. &quot;I need to know you&#039;re with us.&quot; <br />&quot;I will not kill my own son.&quot; He refuted. <br />&quot;I&#039;m not asking you to.&quot;<br />&quot;I&#039;ll do it.&quot; Asani perked up. <br />&quot;Asani?&quot; Amri breathed looking to him. Walking over to him he placed a paw on Amri&#039;s shoulder. <br />&quot;When the time comes to fight, I&#039;ll take him on.&quot; <br />&quot;And kill him?&quot; Endail barked, glaring at him. Asani slowly turned to him. <br />&quot;If he doesn&#039;t submit, I&#039;ll kill him.&quot; Endail stayed locked on his eyes for a good while with Asani firing right back. Endail knew though he couldn&#039;t deter him from this, he knew his cousin was going too far. It was weighing heavy on his heart, but eventually he turned away, submitting to Asani&#039;s stare down. <br />&quot;Why don&#039;t we just swarm him?&quot; Kopa questioned the group. <br />&quot;It&#039;d be easier wouldn&#039;t it?&quot; Endail answered, returning his head upright. &quot;Just wipe them all out, flush your lionesses and you on them. The problem is, Ezeamaka is still technically acting on behalf of the High Reach. You wipe out his crew entirely with shear force, Nariku might be inclined to return the favor.&quot; <br />&quot;Well not unless-&quot;<br />&quot;Shut up, Kopa.&quot; Asani cut off, glaring to him now. Turning to Ni, he shook his head to Kopa, reminding him to keep quiet about Saeska and Nathari. <br />&quot;Not unless what?&quot; Endail said, trying to figure out what he meant. <br />&quot;Nothing.&quot; Kopa dismissed. &quot; It was just, a dumb idea I had.&quot; He tried to play it off. Though he remained suspicious Endail accepted he wasn&#039;t getting an answer for now. <br />&quot;I&#039;ll have Zazu deliver the ultimatum to Ezeamaka at first light.&quot; Simba announced, rising to his feet. &quot; He has three days to clear his camp, before we challenge him.&quot; <br />&quot;Only males can fight in a challenge, Simba.&quot; Endail reinforced. <br />&quot;I know.&quot; He replied, pausing a moment before walking inside. <br />&quot;Ha, five to seven. Not terrible odds.&quot; Asani said, joining the group as they headed inside. <br />&quot;Wanna go two on one again?&quot; Ni laughed, tapping his shoulder. <br />&quot;Nah, not this time. You on the other hand.&quot; <br />&quot;Yeah, probably. Me and Kopa maybe.&quot; Ni agreed. <br /><br />&quot;There&#039;s no talking you out of this, is there dad?&quot; Tasani asked his father as he helped him up. Akinlana, Saeska, Paro and Nathari had all rested the night in Akinlana&#039;s den while Tasani and Khiros came to help their father off. <br />&quot;No my children, I believe this is a matter best handled with my prescience.&quot; <br />&quot;Ezeamaka hardly listened to you, dad when you trained with him.&quot; Khiros stated with a smile, taking the tail end of the group as they left the den. <br />&quot;Perhaps, but the others will fall in line with my arrival and would dare not bring me to harm. It is Ghavrah alone I am concerned with.&quot; Akinlana explained, entering into the main hall. <br />&quot;You&#039;ll eat at least before you go?&quot; Tasani asked. &quot; The huntresses just arrived with food.&quot; <br />&quot;Of course, of course.&quot; He smiled, brushing his sons cheek with his. &quot;Do me a favor though will you, make sure my escorts here get a good proper meal as well. I&#039;ll be quite dependant on Paro for certain.&quot; Paro smiled as he looked back to Akinlana. <br />&quot;Needing a lift from me here and there huh?&quot; <br />&quot;Yes, here and there. My sight may be lost, but I&#039;ve traveled the Sana hills well, I know them on instinct.&quot; <br />&quot;I don&#039;t doubt it.&quot; Paro laughed lightly. <br />&quot;Master, thank you again.&quot; Nathari perked up. <br />&quot;No my young friend, it is I who should be thanking you. You braved the journey here to offer me a chance to set right the heinous actions of my kin. You gave me my granddaughter and a chance to see my lost son once more.&quot; He smiled, settling down with his sons near a leg of food. &quot;Nathari, Saeska. Thank you.&quot; <br />After finishing up their meals they took to the outside, Tasani and Khiros huddled close to their father while Nathari, Paro and Saeska lead the way. Ahead at the tunnel heading down, they saw Nariku, sitting there awaiting their arrival. With a smile, he reached out and took his father into his arms, giving him a warm, solid hug. <br />&quot;Dad, be careful.&quot; Nariku said softly, releasing his father. <br />&quot;Oh I&#039;ll be fine son, just fine. You be careful should this situation at Fangclash escalate.&quot; <br />&quot;I will. But dad, do me a favor?&quot; <br />&quot;Sure.&quot; Akinala smiled, turning his ear. <br />&quot;Tell Amri I love him, and I miss his fat ass.&quot; He laughed, as Akinlana joined him with a chuckle. <br />&quot;I&#039;ll do just that.&quot; <br />&quot;Oh and dad?&quot; Tasani threw in. &quot;Give Ghavrah a good shot in the junk for us.&quot; <br />&quot;Yeah, no kidding.&quot; Khiros laughed. <br />&quot;Boys.&quot; Akinlana sighed, still smiling at his sons. Pulling each of them close, he kissed their foreheads while taking one in exchange on his cheek. They watched Nariku off as Paro took the lead with Saeska and Nathari at either side of Akinlana. &quot; So long as I can hear you two at either side, and you up ahead there Paro I believe I can manage a good portion of this trip upon my own feet. But since time is of the essence, I will require a lift from you Paro wherever you can manage.&quot; <br />&quot;No problem, master.&quot; Paro confirmed, starting down the ramp. <br />&quot;You know, I can carry you for a while as well if you need a break Paro.&quot; Nathari suggested. Saeska giggled shaking her head. <br />&quot;Sure, try to use him as your excuse for the fact you can&#039;t outrun me.&quot; She quipped, swinging her head up high. <br />&quot;Hey, who won the race to the end of the valley?&quot; <br />&quot;Uh huh, and who was incapacitated with fever, hmm.&quot; She giggled. <br />&quot;That was a whole day later!&quot; Nathari argued, smiling as he shook his head at her.<br />&quot;Maybe, maybe not.&quot; <br />&quot;You two gonna be like this the whole way?&quot; Paro questioned. <br />&quot;Probably.&quot; They answered together. <br />&quot;Oh fuc- uh, I mean freaking lovely.&quot; Akinlana chuckled and gave Paro&#039;s backside a soft swat. <br />&quot;Save on the poor language boy. Keep that filth beneath your paws, and out of your mouth.&quot; <br />&quot;Yes master.&quot; Paro acknowledged. <br />&quot;Wait till he meets Asani.&quot; Saeska giggled once more, leaning toward Nathari. He laughed with her as they entered the grasslands below. A few of the lionesses out and about stopped to watch them off in the distance. <br />&quot;Master, think you can run it?&quot; Paro questioned, looking back to Akinlana. Looking up to the sky, he closed his eyes, drawing in a long deep breath. Exhaling he lowered his head briefly as he returned to Paro. <br />&quot;Lead on, and let an old lion show you a thing or two my friend.&quot; He smiled. <br />&quot;Haha! Yeah alright!&quot; Paro cheered, as he lead the crew out towards the Sana hills. <br /><br />The next day in the pride lands grew dark. <br />&quot;So, Simba has the gall to challenge us directly after all.&quot; Ghavrah whispered with a wicked grin. <br />&quot;Yeah, and you said you took care of Kovu right?&quot; Ezeamaka asked, Ghavrah nodded in agreement and chuckled. &quot;Good. We&#039;ll take him up on this challenge then.&quot;<br />&quot;Challenge? Boy, these Pridelanders are little more than weaning cubs. The spoils of this victory will be grand though.&quot; Ghavrah carried on, licking his chops. <br />&quot;Horney old bastard.&quot; Ezeamaka laughed. &quot;Take whatever females you want from them. Leave there crippled fuck of a king to rule what&#039;s left.&quot; Ghavrah raised an eyebrow to him just a moment before taking to his usual face again. <br />&quot;Good, of course my prince.&quot; He complied with a short nod. <br />&quot;Yeah, you got your toy from the Elephant Graveyard I see.&quot; Ezea smiled, nodding towards the small spike on the ground nearby. <br />&quot;Yes, I think it will make a fitting skewer for Simba&#039;s heart.&quot; <br />&quot;Where&#039;d you think of doing that anyway?&quot; He questioned. <br />&quot;Oh you remember my story about the battle in the stone chasm yes?&quot; He reminded him with a smile. &quot;It&#039;s not always the most skilled fighter who wins out the day, but the most resourceful. The spike here is blackrock tipped, when shattered, comes to a finer point then the sharpest claw or fang.&quot; <br />&quot;Yeah?&quot; Ezea asked in wonderment. <br />&quot;Oh yes indeed my boy. Like you say, my age is getting the best of me. But with a good weapon like that, the chances tip greatly in our favor. And to you my prodigy, do remember what I taught you?&quot; <br />&quot;Yes, of course.&quot; He smiled. <br />&quot;No mercy, no openings, no hesitation, no hope against us.&quot; The chanted in sync. &quot; You drop down to that left paw too much still when you swing.&quot; Ghavrah reminded him. Ezeamaka laughed and pat his shoulder. <br />&quot;Yeah, I&#039;ll watch for it this time. I can&#039;t afford to fuck up fighting Amri again.&quot; <br />&quot;You let the moment get the better of you. This time, you&#039;ll be prepared.&quot; Ghavrah advised, rising to his feet he scooped up the spike and dropped it before him. &quot; This weapon, wasn&#039;t meant for Simba alone you know?&quot; <br />&quot;Oh?&quot; Ezea smiled. <br />&quot;When I&#039;m finished with that pompous fool, it&#039;s all yours.&quot; <br /><br />Saeska, Nathari, Akinlana and Paro wasted little time. When his breath grew short, Akinlana would take to Paro&#039;s back and slow there pace to allow him to keep up. Saeska hunted when she could to feed the small group, but the trip was taxing them greatly. Sore paws and broken blisters were common, especially for Paro who had to shoulder the old lions weight. Akinlana fared well enough, proving to run longer and longer each day. They weren&#039;t far now, the Pride Lands on the distant horizon beyond the Outlands that lay ahead. The late afternoon was clouded as thunder loomed behind them.<br />&quot;Great, a storm.&quot; Paro sighed, gently letting Akinlana off his back. <br />&quot;Come on, were so close!&quot; Saeska encouraged, trying to press him back into action. <br />&quot;Please my dear, just a moments breath. Poor Paro has been burdened with my girth the whole day.&quot; Akinlana replied, settling down. <br />&quot;Girth?&quot; Nathari questioned. &quot;Sir, you&#039;re pretty skinny.&quot; <br />&quot;Nath.&quot; Paro sighed. <br />&quot;You only shouldered me once boy, Paro I&#039;m sure feels the weight by now.&quot; <br />&quot;I guess, sorry bro, and master.&quot; <br />&quot;Forgiven. We should rest a moment, the outlands will not be a comfort to the sores of our feet. We best brace for muddy waters as well as we pass into the Pride Lands during this storm.&quot; Akinlana stated, gazing up to the sky. <br />&quot;Daddy.&quot; Saeska breathed looking on to the Pride Lands. &quot;Just hold on, we&#039;re almost there.&quot; <br /><br />Amri and Simba gathered up Kopa, Asani and Ni and stood outside Pride Rock. The lionesses formed a circle around, wishing them well off to battle. Nala rushed in, squeezing Simba tight followed swiftly by the other girls. Kinu kissed Ni while Sierra and Vitani wrapped Asani between them. Aurok, Stara and Keyah all but enveloped Kopa while Hakima tucked her head beneath Amri&#039;s chin. <br />&quot;My love?&quot; She whispered. Amri glanced down, his face heavy with worry. <br />&quot;Yes.&quot; He answered just as softly. <br />&quot;I&#039;ve lived through a great many things in my life. But this day is unique, frightening.&quot; <br />&quot;I know what you mean.&quot; He comforted, running his chin along her neck. <br />&quot;You are the greatest husband a lioness could ask for, and I love you so. Take my heart with you to this battle; let it shield you with all the warmth and strength you have given me.&quot; She spoke, grasping his paw to her chest. Closing her eyes, she leaned into his body hard. &quot; And bring it home, safe, with you.&quot;<br />&quot;My beloved wife, I love you with all my heart. I promise to come home, to hold you this night just as I have held you every night.&quot; He whispered softly. <br />&quot;Kopa?&quot; Keyah asked, looking up to him. Reaching for his cheek she rubbed along it as he leaned into it, closing his eyes, embracing her touch. &quot; No matter what happens, however this turns out. I will always love you.&quot; <br />&quot;I love you too Keyah, I promise I&#039;ll come back.&quot; He smiled, kissing her paw. <br />&quot;Good.&quot; She sighed, immediately she snapped back to her usual face and snared his attention. &quot;Cause you know a storm is coming and I&#039;m just hopeless if you&#039;re not around.&quot; She smiled. <br />&quot;Oh? Feeling a little leaky are you?&quot; Kopa laughed, playing along. <br />&quot;I swear, you tell anyone!&quot; She playfully bopped his shoulder.<br />&quot;Not me, Asani maybe.&quot; <br />&quot;Oh no, I can keep his mouth shut if I have to.&quot; She giggled helplessly. <br />&quot;You know, we should really just sit outside and watch one.&quot; He suggested. <br />&quot;No way!&quot; Keyah refuted firmly. <br />&quot;Yeah, not gonna happen bro.&quot; Kinu smiled joining the conversation. &quot;Getting her to watch a storm without you strapped to her is like trying to get an elephant to dance.&quot; <br />&quot;Would be a good show.&quot; Ni piped in as Asani and Amri joined them. <br />&quot;This a real discussion, elephant dancing on a day like this?&quot; Amri questioned. Keyah giggled and looked back to Kinu. <br />&quot;He&#039;s right, zebra is the most likely candidate for dancing.&quot;<br />&quot;Meerkat maybe? I&#039;ve seen Timon and Pumbaa show some moves.&quot; Kinu smiled<br />&quot;You forgetting monkeys?&quot; Asani asked. &quot; That dancing chimp we got now is plenty enough.&quot; <br />&quot;I don&#039;t think I&#039;d count him.&quot; Kopa dismissed.<br />&quot;What you a monkey hater?&quot; Ni questioned with a smile. <br />&quot;Well he spanks his often enough.&quot; Asani quipped. Ni laughed helplessly while Kopa shook his head with a smile. <br />&quot;I see, and who had a lover first between us? Just checkin.&quot; Kopa laughed. <br />&quot;Oh we getting technical now, and yes I had one first you dip.&quot; Asani scoffed. <br />&quot;I think he means one that you lasted longer than thirteen seconds with.&quot; Ni threw in. Amri even found himself laughing at this one. As there laughter settled, Endail caught up with the group and they began to head off. Amri took the lead toward the southern border with the others taking flank while Endail covered the rear. It wasn&#039;t far to travel, Ezeamaka had crossed the river and was already heading toward them.<br />&quot;Kopa.&quot; Ni said softly. &quot;Remember, we get the two.&quot; <br />&quot;Got it.&quot; He agreed. <br />&quot;Son, I really wish you&#039;d reconsider that.&quot; Simba pleaded. <br />&quot;I&#039;ll be fine dad, its ok.&quot; Kopa insisted as they moved closer and closer to Ezeamaka. <br />&quot;I guess our plan didn&#039;t work out with Nathari.&quot; Ni whispered to Amri, slowing there pace. <br />&quot;There is always hope.&quot; <br />&quot;Yes, but not always time. We&#039;re going to have to assume were on our own here, the reinforcements from the High Reach, are not coming.&quot; Ni stated. <br />&quot;We&#039;ll see.&quot; He replied, watching Endail break away from the group. He took a spot a fair distance between the two prides, settling down in plain sight for everyone to see, he would not be joining the battle. Ezeamaka glared at him, spat off in his direction as he turned to Amri. <br />&quot;Father!&quot; Ezeamaka called out from the head of the pack. &quot;I see you&#039;ve finally decided to throw down your life, and spare your little family.&quot; <br />&quot;You&#039;d never spare them, regardless of any sacrifices I make.&quot; He refuted angrily. They stood a fair distance apart, the seven lions with Ezeamaka growling and spitting alongside Ghavrah who stood above them all, smiling to Simba. <br />&quot;Finally, I&#039;ll put you in the ground where you belong. You should thank me for the opportunity to see mother again.&quot; He cackled, glancing to Ghavrah. Grinning he admired his pupil&#039;s taunting a moment before returning his gaze to Simba. Amri lowered his head a moment, reflecting on her memory. Slowly he drew his head up, scowling at Ezeamaka. <br />&quot;Your mother, is by my side right now boy! She is here, to watch not me, but my dearest friend, put you to rest.&quot; Amri bellowed, breaking a cool smile as he finished. Ezeamaka looked to him in confusion, shifting between Ghavrah and Amri. Asani stepped forward with a smile plastered across his face, giving the hair of his mane a quick brush from his eyes. <br />&quot;You know, as much as I&#039;m gonna love beating the ever loving shit out of you. I&#039;m gonna enjoy it more, knowing you&#039;ll never get the revenge you want so bad.&quot; Asani laughed. <br />&quot;You&#039;re not even remotely-&quot;<br />&quot;Shut the fuck up momma&#039;s boy!&quot; He curtly interrupted. &quot;I honestly wonder how hard that old fuck made you suck his cock, cause I think that&rsquo;s about the only way I could even conceive getting to be the mad little bitch you are. Seriously, did he make you jiggle his balls? Did he slap em around your face?&quot; <br />&quot;You pathetic little-&quot; Ezea tried to start. <br />&quot;He made ya swallow didn&#039;t he?&quot; Asani grinned. Ni covered his face a little, trying to hide the laughter. Kopa found it a little easier not to laugh, watching the anger well up in Ezeamaka&#039;s eyes. He kept his focus where it belonged, trying to pick out which two to fight. &quot;Oh yeah, I bet he did. I can&#039;t blame ol Amri for not wanting to fight; he wouldn&#039;t hit a bitch to save his life. Me on the other paw, I got no problem putting you exactly where you belong you little shit.&quot; He carried on, stepping a little closer. &quot;You&#039;re going to die today, Ezeamaka. Today is the day you explain to mommy how you took it up the ass from a delusional, psychopathic, cub fucker in order to fail killing your daddy, again, and again and again!&quot;<br />&quot;I&#039;m going to rip your head off!&quot; Ezeamaka screamed at the top of his lungs. <br />&quot;Control yourself!&quot; Ghavrah snapped. <br />&quot;No, I&#039;ve had it. This fucking pussy is going to die!&quot; Ezeamaka bellowed. <br />&quot;You deviate from our plan!&quot; Ghavrah insisted, but to no avail, Ezea was striding toward Asani already. His fangs bared, claws extended. Asani just kept smiling, walking forward. The others followed suit, Kopa and Ni breaking off. Kopa ended up, facing across Theron and another lion named Serris. Simba ended up across from Traeda, a friend of Ezeamaka&#039;s. Ghavrah was left to face off with Amri, as Ni received Faraji and Tarok, the two remaining lions. The thunder began to boom, but no rain had touched the ground yet, just the calm settling in before it could begin. <br />&quot;Take it bitch!&quot; Asani bellowed as he charged for Ezeamaka. Simba started working into Traeda right away; the two were swinging at each other over and over until Simba finally threw himself atop of him and pinned him down.<br />Gharvrah struggled to land any decent shots on Amri, the rush of the fight brought the adreniline to surface with him. Ghavrah kept backing off, Amri&#039;s skill was beyond what he was expecting. He managed to parry a few blows and crack a few hard shots across Amri&#039;s face, but he was swift to return the favor. With a solid backhand, he threw Ghavrah up in the air and onto his back. Rushing to pin him down, Ghavrah raised his paws in surrender. <br />&quot;I yield! Enough!&quot; He cried out, Amri was completely baffled. Ghavrah was old, but to submit so soon. &quot;I will back down.&quot; Ghavrah pleaded once more. Amri let him up with a good degree of hesitation. <br />&quot;Hold to that.&quot; Amri advised. &quot;Touch my pride, and I&#039;ll tear you apart piece by piece.&quot; Ghavrah smiled and backed off, while Amri rushed to the aid of his pride. <br />Ni was in great trouble in his fight. Tarok had him pinned while Faraji and him traded blows. Ni caught Tarok&#039;s paw, shooting his to his chin, snapping his mouth shut. <br />Kopa threw Serris up onto his hind legs, wrestling with him a moment. His balance had become so much more stable training with Amri. In a snap, Kopa threw him down; catching his head he spun him onto his back. Theron tried to take advantage of Kopa being placed on his back as well, but met Kopa&#039;s feet into his stomach. Tossing over, Kopa rose up and shot a harsh kick across Theron&#039;s face, spitting up he backed off, disoriented from the blow. Serris had risen to his feet as well though, wrapping Kopa in a headlock. Growling as he felt Serris try to find his neck with his fangs, he sured a grip on his shoulder and threw him up. Falling back, Kopa slammed Serris to the ground, clipping Theron in the process. <br />Though the start of the fight held his favor, Simba began struggling with Traeda. He was one of the true warrior&#039;s of The High Reach, and much stronger then Simba had anticipated. Simba&#039;s swings were becoming easier to block, a fact Traeda took advantage of by giving him his backhand with another cut-across to Simba&#039;s face. Traeda lunged for Simba, catching him; Simba tossed him off with the trick Nala had taught him. Its effectiveness was limited though, as Traeda rolled it out and quickly darted to his feet once more. Returning to knock Simba back to the ground as he tried to rise up. <br />&quot;Nice trick! But you&#039;re going to have to do better than that.&quot; He taunted. With a harsh swing, he began to barrage Simba&#039;s head over and over. He struggled through the first few, but the fight was taxing too much of him, his feet fell over as he slipped unconscious. <br />&quot;No!&quot; Amri shouted, having finished with Faraji he moved to take on Traeda. Ripping him off of Simba he started to battle with the warrior. <br />Asani had Ezeamaka pinned down, but not well. Ezea was making him work for his weight on him. With a good shot to his stomach and neck, Asani was forced to dismount. Leaping to his feet, they squared off once more and began circling. <br />&quot;Where&#039;s that mouth now.&quot; Ezeamaka questioned. Asani glared as he panted. <br />&quot;Least I use mine for what it&#039;s supposed to.&quot; He quipped. Ezeamaka laughed, shaking his head. <br />&quot;You know what?&quot; He asked, leaping for Asani he faked a blow to his face and shot him up his chin. As he fell to the ground, Ezea laughed and shook out his mane. &quot;You&#039;re shit&#039;s getting old, and I&#039;m feeling a little more cool.&quot; <br />Ni was finally winning over Tarok. <br />&quot;Give it up, and I&#039;ll let you be.&quot; He threatened. It took a few seconds for him to respond, the shock of the injury still fresh as the throbbing pain began to surge his shoulder. Tarok nodded eagerly as Ni approved and backed off. Looking to Kopa&#039;s battle he started to hone in on Serris. Before he could act, Ghavrah rushed him and carried him in the charge, slamming Ni head first into a nearby tree. Watching his body slump to the ground, he gazed down in disdain. <br />&quot;Opps, didn&#039;t see you there.&quot; He mocked. He turned his attention to Tarok and looked him over. Grabbing his arm, he shoved it into its socket, hearing the pop to confirm it. &quot;You&#039;ve a moment to rest, but if I don&#039;t see you up and fighting then. I&#039;ll cut your throat myself.&quot; Tarok looked to him in wide eyes, panic stricken. <br />Kopa had managed to knock out Serris, leaving a fearful Theron pacing around him. Kopa was bleeding from his cheek, but stared down at him, little panting and hardly showing any signs of fatigue. <br />&quot;You know.&quot; Theron started, shaking his finger. &quot;I&#039;m more of a fine lover then a good fighter. Any chance I can back down?&quot; He pleaded. Kopa smiled, feigning thought for a moment. <br />&quot;Well I suppose on one condition.&quot; He stated, gesturing for Theron to approach. &quot;Come on.&quot; He insisted lightly. Theron hesitantly drew closer and closer. Kopa threw a hard shot across his head, sending him to the ground unconscious. &quot; That, is for picking on my sister.&quot; Kopa quickly turned to Amri, seeing him manage Traeda quite well, he looked to Asani. Barely able to stand it did not look well for him now. He knew if Asani was struggling, he would fare little better. Rushing off to Amri and Traeda, he interjected on the fight. <br />&quot;Kopa what are you?&quot; Amri demanded. <br />&quot;Go!&quot; Kopa barked, gesturing to Asani. Amri nodded and rushed off. <br />Ezeamaka deflected Asani&#039;s errant strike and shot him across the face, sending him back staggering. Asani glanced to Ni, who lay unconcious far off along with Simba. Turning back to Ezea he met another blow to the face, this one sending him to the ground. <br />&quot;Come on Asani!&quot; He taunted. &quot;Get up! I wanna hear what you got to say now!&quot; Ezeamaka picked him back up, winding up another swing Asani parried it off and gave a good shot across Ezeamaka&#039;s cheek, cutting it fairly deep. Backing off he gave it a quick pat and felt the blood. He glared at Asani angrily. &quot; You little shit.&quot; <br />&quot;Aww, did I pretty you up a notch?&quot; He joked between pants. Ezeamaka lunged for him and pinned him down. Shot after shot, he hammered Asani&#039;s face. It was too much for him now, Asani knew he was beaten. Dizzy, disoriented, he felt himself starting to pass out. <br />&quot;Guess it&#039;s you that dies today.&quot; Ezea spat to his face. <br />&quot;F&hellip;fuck you.&quot; He muttered just before he lost consciousness. Ezea extended his claws and wound up to cut his throat, as his paw was caught. Looking up he saw Endail over him, shaking his head. <br />&quot;No cousin, enough blood.&quot; He pleaded. <br />&quot;You!&quot; Ezea barked, letting Asani alone. &quot; You back stabbing shit! How dare you turn your back on me?!&quot; <br />&quot;I never turned my back on you! I&#039;m the only one here watching it for you!&quot; He fired right back. Ezea swung across Endail&#039;s face, to which he immediately returned the favor. This blow hurt him in a different way, never once had he been struck by Endail in anger. It was frightening for him. He took his time returning his gaze to his cousin, almost ashamed to show him. &quot;I can&#039;t watch you do this Ezea! I won&#039;t watch you butcher a kingdom.&quot; He yelled turning to walk away. <br />&quot;Endi!&quot; He called out. Stopping a moment, he answered back. <br />&quot;Goodbye, Ezeamaka.&quot; <br />Amri rushed to Asani first, Ezeamaka still stunned by what had just happened. Leaning down he stroked his head, examining his injuries. His face had been badly beaten, blood seeping out his nose. Amri forced his mouth open, allow him to take in more air since his nose was no doubt congested with blood. Ezeamaka turned now, to see his father standing before him. <br />&quot;Do you see now?&quot; Amri questioned. In confusion he looked to him. <br />&quot;What?&quot; <br />&quot;Do you see what this costs you?&quot; He reiterated. &quot; He told me everything Ezea, he loved you so much. You&#039;re bloodlust has cost you your own family.&quot; <br />&quot;No.&quot; He growled, hiding his face a moment. &quot; No this is you! This is you!!&quot; He shouted. <br />&quot;Come on then! Kill me, boy! Kill the once piece of flesh you have left that still loves you!&quot; Amri bellowed. <br />&quot;No!&quot; Ezeamaka screamed lunging for Amri. They wrestled up onto their hind legs, but Amri tossed his grip and landed, backing off. <br />&quot;I won&#039;t do it boy, I won&#039;t satisfy you by fighting back.&quot; Amri insisted, dodging a few errant blows. <br />&quot;I&#039;ll kill you! I&#039;ll tear you apart for what you did!&quot; He screamed once more. Ezeamaka&#039;s strikes were becoming erratic but a few still found there mark upon Amri&#039;s shoulders and head. &quot;Come on! Fight back!&quot; He yelled. <br />&quot;No.&quot; Amri eked out, dodging what strikes he could. <br />&quot;You, abandoned us!&quot; Ezeamaka cried out. <br />&quot;You know that&#039;s not what happened.&quot; Amri argued before being wrestled back up. Ezeamaka clipped his chin this time while they were up, Amri lost his balance and caught a harder shot across his face as they came down. The previous fights were taking their toll on him as well. His strength could not hold out much longer. <br />&quot;She died, waiting for you! All she ever talked about was you!&quot; He barked. He wound up and took a good shot across Amri&#039;s cheek, cutting it lightly. <br />&quot;Amri no!!&quot; He cried out. Ghavrah approached behind the heavily breathing Ezeamaka, the spike still in his jaws. Placing it down he watched him standing over his unconscious father. <br />&quot;Are you ready?&quot; He asked him. Ezea nodded, reaching his trembling paw over Amri&#039;s throat. &quot;Good.&quot; Ghavrah replied softly. With a swift snatch, he grabbed the spike, driving through Ezeamaka&#039;s stomach. His claws retracted his eyes wide in shock. Gasping he looked behind him, seeing in his peripheral vision, the rock pierced through his body. Ghavrah rushed to his ear and softly whispered. &quot; You know I think of all the lessons I taught you, the main one never sunk in did it. Your single-minded stupidity lead you here, thankfully so easily. Did you really think I&#039;d serve on your right paw as some compliant toy? For how many times must I tell you, you useless fuck? I always, come out, on top!&quot; He snarled, knocking Ezeamaka down. <br />&quot;What the!?&quot; Kopa, Serris, Traeda and Theron called out in sync. Tarok rolled over and saw it happen as well in shock. <br />&quot;Rise, warriors of The High Reach! Today, we claim this kingdom as our prize! Kneel now, before your king!&quot; Ghavrah announced. <br />&quot;Warrior&#039;s of The High Reach, stand down!!&quot; Akinlana fired out angrily. Kopa swiftly turned to the voice, seeing Nathari and Saeska arrive with Akinlana on Paro&#039;s back. Quickly he dismounted as Nathari rushed to Kopa&#039;s side. <br />&quot;Dad! Are you ok!?&quot; he begged. Kopa swiftly hugged him tight as Saeska frantically searched for Amri. Ghavrah plastered a smile across his face. <br />&quot;You&#039;ve no power here, Master Akinlana.&quot; He laughed. <br />&quot;You&#039;ve never had any power, Ghavrah. By my claws, you never will.&quot; He retorted casually. <br />&quot;Master?&quot; Traeda questioned shyly. <br />&quot;Get the Pridelanders to their feet boy, or I will make you sorry you stepped one foot in this land.&quot; He threatened. <br />&quot;Uhh&hellip; yes master, sorry master.&quot; He immediately complied. <br />&quot;Belay that!&quot; Ghavrah demanded. <br />&quot;No I don&#039;t think so.&quot; Akinlana smiled. Ghavrah glared at Akinlana as he slowly approached him. Ezeamaka lay on the ground still in shock of what had happened. Seeing his father lay motionless before him. It began to dawn on him what had happened, what had gone so very wrong. Reaching out, he clawed his way slowly to his father&#039;s head. <br />&quot;Father.&quot; He stammered, prodding his father&#039;s cheek. &quot;Father, get up.&quot; He begged incessantly. &quot;Father.&quot; He cried, clinching in pain, the spike still run through him. Panting he felt the tear start to run down his face. &quot;Dad, wake up.&quot; He called. Amri&#039;s eye shot open, meeting his sons face. <br />&quot;Ezea?&quot; He asked, hardly able to believe it was him that had called. <br />&quot;Daddy!!&quot; Saeska cried out, rushing to her father. &quot;Oh daddy, please be ok.&quot; She moaned. <br />&quot;Baby, please. I&#039;m so glad your home, but your brother.&quot; Amri said, nodding to Ezeamaka. She sharply turned to him and glared, seeing the spike run through him. <br />&quot;It&#039;s no less then you deserve you big jerk!&quot; She barked. <br />&quot;Sister, please. I&#039;m so very sorry, but Ghavrah. Bring him here.&quot; Ezea pleaded. <br />&quot;What?&quot; She questioned, looking to Ghavrah as he stood only feet away from Akinlana. &quot; Why?&quot; <br />&quot;Gonna return the favor.&quot; Ezeamaka stammered. Amri slowly rose to his feet, his legs shaking a little. Seaska&#039;s anger melted away, looking down at her brother. <br />&quot;Make it count.&quot; She said softly. Rushing off toward Ghavrah and Akinlana. She slowed her pace creeping up behind him. With a wicked grin she charged towards his backside and swung between his legs. &quot;Present from Tasani!&quot; She laughed. With a cry of pain, he pulled the spike from his stomach, leaping up and slamming it into Ghavrah&#039;s mouth out the back and into the ground. Ghavrah&#039;s teeth shattered as it split his jaw, forcing his body to tremble as he stared up at Ezeamaka. <br />&quot;Guess I came out on top after all.&quot; He smiled, slamming what remained of the protruding spike down further, severing Ghavrah&#039;s neck. Ezeamaka embraced every moment, as Ghavrah&#039;s eyes glazed, his trembling subsided. The old lion at last, had been slain. With a grunt Ezea flopped onto his side, feeling the blood pour from his wounds. Amri slowly walked over, his son lying on the ground, breathing heavily, yet looking so peaceful. He settled himself over him and gently lowered his body down. <br />&quot;Son.&quot; He whimpered a little, seeing him in so much pain. <br />&quot;Guess it&#039;s over huh?&quot; Ezeamaka sighed. Amri began stroking his head, feeling the tears well up in his eyes. &quot;Guess you win this one dad.&quot; He laughed and coughed. <br />&quot;No.&quot; Amri shook his head. &quot; No, I lost this one.&quot; <br />&quot;Huh?&quot; He questioned, still smiling a little. <br />&quot;During the time before I left, Serwa badly desired a cub of our own. Someone to love, nurture and watch grow. She grew frustrated that all my training and duties were keeping me away, that I wasn&#039;t with her enough to breed properly but I had faith in us. When things went awry though, I fled and it is true, I never knew you were growing in her belly. But something you must know, that Serwa, Endail and even your grandfather must have shown you by now is that no matter what atrocities you commit, or blood you spill. In our hearts we will always love you.&quot; He explained, continuously stroking Ezeamaka&#039;s head. <br />&quot;I know, I&#039;m sorry dad.&quot; He whimpered. <br />&quot;I love you son. I&#039;m so sorry I never came back. If I had but the slightest clue you were my own, I would have.&quot; Amri cried, resting his head on his. Ezeamaka felt the tears start roll down his cheek as well. <br />&quot;I&hellip; I love you to&hellip; dad&hellip;&quot; He breathed, as his eyes grew heavy. Akinlana smiled, walking over, he gently placed a paw on Amri&#039;s shoulder. Smiling he gazed up to the sky, letting the first droplets of rain hit his face. <br />&quot;This is not his time.&quot; Akinlana spoke softly. <br />&quot;Father?&quot; Amri asked, looking up to him, the tears still flowing. <br />&quot;My son, I do not need my eyes to see this. Ezeamaka can live, hold him. Tightly.&quot; He insisted, guiding his sons paw down. <br />&quot;Master?&quot; Paro asked. &quot; How, do you know where he&#039;s hurt?&quot; <br />&quot;It is difficult to explain boy. I can, feel where he has been struck. I feel his heart in mine. It is not ready to die yet.&quot; Akinlana answered. He started to pat Amri&#039;s head, stroking his mane as Saeska broke away from her hug. &quot; My dear, beautiful boy.&quot;<br />&quot;Help is on the way!&quot; Rafiki called out, hefting a bundle tied to his stick. He was riding atop Sierra and quickly found their way over. &quot;Oh.&quot; Rafiki stated, surprised to see Amri holding Ezeamaka tightly. &quot;I see I have a new patient, eh?&quot; He questioned to Amri. <br />&quot;Please, can you help him?&quot; He pleaded. <br />&quot;Daddy, wait.&quot; Saeska interjected. &quot; This can&#039;t be right, daddy he&#039;s gonna try to kill you if you heal him.&quot; <br />&quot;I don&#039;t know.&quot; Ni argued, holding his head. &quot; He seems, different.&quot; Sierra and Asani finally joined the group, he was leaning quite heavily on her, barely able to see. <br />&quot;What&#039;s going on guys?&quot; He asked. Saeska gave Asani&#039;s cheek a quick kiss and smiled. <br />&quot;Made it home!&quot; She giggled. <br />&quot;Thanks, and ow.&quot; He chuckled. Saeska aww&#039;d and brushed his shoulder with her head. Rafiki started tending to the wound on either side of Ezeamaka&#039;s body. Simba turned away, somewhat disgusted with the fact he was really going to treat him while Asani nearly fell off of Sierra&#039;s shoulder. &quot;Hey hey hey! What are you doing?!&quot; He protested. Akinlana&#039;s paw swung out in front of him abruptly, shaking his head. <br />&quot;Trust me, my young friend. Leave him be.&quot; <br />&quot;What!?&quot; He exclaimed. <br />&quot;Asani.&quot; Nathari perked up. &quot;That&#039;s Amri&#039;s dad, its master Akinlana.&quot; He gave him one more look. <br />&quot;Oh, fine then. Guess we&#039;ll just save the guy that nearly took my fucking head off, no biggy.&quot;<br />&quot;Asani.&quot; Ni sighed. &quot;We&#039;ll talk more when you&#039;ve had a chance to recover. Come on, we shouldn&#039;t linger here.&quot; <br />&quot;I agree.&quot; Simba nodded. &quot;It&#039;s been a long day. Amri, I&#039;ll be speaking with you when you get home.&quot; Amri glanced to Simba and nodded as they started toward home. Saeska, Akinlana, Paro, Nathari and Rafiki remained behind to watch as he treated his wounds. <br />&quot;They are angry with us.&quot; Akinlana said softly. <br />&quot;I know.&quot; Amri agreed quietly. &quot; But he&#039;s my son; I have to try if there&#039;s a chance he can pull through.&quot; <br />&quot;I can&#039;t say I&#039;m a fan of this idea either.&quot; Nathari said, backing away. &quot;He&#039;s tried to kill me, and rape Saeska. How can we trust him?&quot; <br />&quot;Because he will not try something so foolish as that while I am here.&quot; Akinlana stated. <br /><br />Upon arriving home, the girls all rushed to meet there loved ones as they walked in. <br />Amri at last came inside, met immediately by the arms of his wife. Hakima kissed his cheek and lips over and over, so thankful to see he was safe. <br />&quot;Mommy!!&quot; Saeska cheered, tackling Hakima to the ground. <br />&quot;OH! My baby girl! Welcome home.&quot; She laughed, hugging her daughter tight. Rolling over she let herself up, leaning on her daughter with a smile. Paro and Nathari had Ezeamaka up on their backs while Akinlana followed behind with Rafiki. Simba shot to his feet immediately and growled. <br />&quot;No! He cannot stay here, that&#039;s out of the question!&quot; He barked. <br />&quot;Here, fuckin here.&quot; Sierra mumbled. Asani gave a quick laugh and nodded. <br />&quot;Simba.&quot; Akinlana spoke loudly. It snared his attention along with Amri&#039;s. &quot;Come.&quot; Simba growled low but followed alongside Amri. As they gathered outside, Akinlana took the point of Pride Rock, placing Amri and Simba before him. <br />&quot;Listen, I&#039;m grateful for you coming here to end the battle. But if it wasn&#039;t for that monster, we would have never had any trouble to begin with! I will not allow him to stay here.&quot; Simba stated. <br />&quot;Then don&rsquo;t.&quot; Akinlana replied. &quot;I wouldn&#039;t ask you to carry the burden of my grandson.&quot; <br />&quot;Good.&quot; Simba nodded. <br />&quot;Amri will.&quot; Akinlana smiled. <br />&quot;What?&quot; Simba questioned. <br />&quot;I will father.&quot; Amri nodded. <br />&quot;What don&#039;t you understand?&quot; Simba demanded. <br />&quot;What don&#039;t you?&quot; Akinlana retorted calmly. &quot;King Simba, you have in your home, the eldest child of your kingdoms lord. He lays, wounded, helpless and weak. Now, as for what has happened to this day, I offer my sincerest apologies on behalf of The High Reach. The warriors involved will be dealt with swiftly, and harshly. But that boy in there will be dealt the most punishment.&quot; <br />&quot;What are you going to do with him?&quot; Simba asked. Akinlana smiled, looking to Amri. <br />&quot;Make him walk a mile in his father&#039;s pawprints.&quot; He stated. Amri gave it a moments though, hanging his head he sighed heavily. <br />&quot;He&#039;s not going to like that one bit.&quot; Amri replied. <br />&quot;No, he&#039;s not.&quot; <br />&quot;I&#039;m missing something here aren&#039;t I?&quot; Simba questioned again. <br />&quot;Yes, and I&#039;m sorry for the confusion. Right now, I do not wish to burden you with the details of his punishment. All I can ask is your forgiveness in time, and trust that proper justice will be delivered upon those that have wronged your kingdom. I ask permission, for my grandson to recover here. Also for my escort and I to remain here a while to gather our strength for the journey home.&quot; Akinlana requested with a polite bow. Simba hung his head, heaving a heavy sigh. <br />&quot;You have mine, but not theirs.&quot; He replied, slowly raising his head. &quot; There are many within Pride Rock that hold great hostility towards him, and I will not stop them if they attempt anything against Ezeamaka.&quot; He replied. <br />&quot;Simba, I will be by his side. I will make sure nothing comes of this.&quot; Amri insisted. <br />&quot;Amri, I understand where you are coming from. I know your desire to turn things around for him is strong. But he nearly obliterated us in this conflict. I won&#039;t defend him, not even for you. It is your soul duty to protect him until he is well, and your responsibility should he betray your trust.&quot; Simba reaffirmed. <br />&quot;I understand.&quot; Amri replied lightly. <br />&quot;Good. Master Akinlana, you are welcome to stay a few weeks if you need to recover. But the burden this war has put on our land is great. I can&#039;t hold you and the other longer than that.&quot; Simba stated. <br />&quot;Perfectly fine.&quot; Akinlana agreed. &quot;Thank you Simba, but, could I have a moment with my son?&quot; <br />&quot;Certainly.&quot; He nodded, turning back towards the den. Amri watched as he disappeared inside before turning back to Akinlana. There smiles met, as Amri nearly leapt into his arms, Akinlana wrapping him tight. <br />&quot;Dad. I&#039;m so happy to see you again.&quot; Amri said, muffled in his father&#039;s mane. <br />&quot;My dear boy. You&#039;ve no idea how glad I am to hold you again.&quot;<br />&quot;Father, I&#039;m so sorry I left you and my brothers, it&#039;s just when he died-&quot; <br />&quot;Shh.&quot; Akinlana hushed. &quot;It&#039;s ok my son, its ok. You&#039;ve nothing to explain, I know the pain you felt. It was shared when Nariku told me.&quot; <br />&quot;Mother, is she ok?&quot; Amri asked. <br />&quot;Oh my child, she passed just a year or so ago. She was happy, and peaceful.&quot; He informed him. <br />&quot;Still, I wish I had been there to see her.&quot; <br />&quot;She sees you everyday my son. Watching you alongside your brother and former wife.&quot; <br />&quot;I hope you weren&#039;t hard on her.&quot; Amri said softly, releasing himself from his father&#039;s grip. <br />&quot;How long have you known me boy?&quot; Akinlana chuckled. <br />&quot;I suppose you&#039;re right.&quot; He smiled. <br />&quot;That daughter of yours is a true wonder, I must say.&quot; <br />&quot;Saeska, my little bolt of lightning.&quot; Amri laughed. <br />&quot;Oh dear me, is she ever. Her heart is so very strong, it&#039;s a pleasure just to be near her.&quot; <br />&quot;She&#039;s got herself a lover too now.&quot; <br />&quot;Yes.&quot; Akinlana nodded. &quot;Nathari was quite protective of her. She came a little ill upon arriving at The High Reach, but Varika settled her down easily enough.&quot; <br />&quot;Sick? With what?&quot; Amri asked eagerly. <br />&quot;Calm down, my son. It was a light fever. Paro helped keep them fed, to which Nathari was very thankful.&quot; <br />&quot;Paro is the other lion?&quot; Amri asked. <br />&quot;Yes, it&#039;s Nathari&#039;s elder brother.&quot; He smiled. <br />&quot;Oh that&rsquo;s great!&quot; <br />&quot;You&#039;re brothers all bid you well, Nariku says he misses your fat ass.&quot; <br />&quot;Ha!&quot; Amri laughed. &quot;Jelani was the fatass, not me.&quot; Akinlana tapped Amri&#039;s jaw, shaking his head with a smile. <br />&quot;That mouth.&quot; <br />&quot;Oh no, not my mouth. Come spend some time with Asani, father. Then you&#039;ll hear the lip of your life.&quot; He laughed, leading his father inside. <br />&quot;So I&#039;ve heard. Looking forward to meeting him.&quot; <br /><br />As a few weeks passed, the Pride Lands began to return to it&#039;s normal stability. Kovu made a full recovery, though he shared Asani&#039;s love for Ezeamaka, he forced himself to speak with him now and again. Strangely, it was Kopa that found himself talking with him now and then with little fear, and on this day they took to the top of Pride Rock together and settled down. <br />&quot;How&#039;s your back doing?&quot; Kopa asked, giving him a quick glance before looking on to the Pride Lands. <br />&quot;It&#039;s rough, but getting there.&quot; <br />&quot;That&#039;s good.&quot; He replied. &quot; So Akinlana leaves today, gonna go with him?&quot; Ezeamaka shook his head, resting it between his paws. <br />&quot;No. I&#039;m not.&quot; <br />&quot;Why not?&quot; Kopa questioned, puzzled by his answer. <br />&quot;Because, it&#039;s not my home anymore.&quot;<br />&quot;What do you mean?&quot; Ezeamaka heaved a sigh. <br />&quot;Don&#039;t ask.&quot; He dismissed. He let a little time pass before shifting to Kopa. &quot; You know, I honestly thought Asani and Simba were gonna kill me in my sleep.&quot; <br />&quot;There not like that.&quot; Kopa stated. <br />&quot;No, I know. I don&#039;t get how though. If I was in their position I would. What I&#039;ve done, what I had planned to do. It doesn&#039;t deserve forgiveness.&quot; He explained. <br />&quot;What does it deserve then?&quot; Kopa asked. <br />&quot;Death.&quot; He stated firmly. &quot; My father, should have put me away, the day I attacked my own sister.&quot; He sighed, covering his face. Kopa sighed, looking on to the Outlands, thinking back on Zira and the attack on his life. The memories were always vivid, fresh, the smell of the blood in the air. The feel of her strikes, impacting his body. <br />&quot;You know how I got like this?&quot; Kopa posed to Ezeamaka, showcasing his scars. <br />&quot;Hmm?&quot; He mumbled. <br />&quot;A vicious, psychotic lioness tore me apart when I was a cub. She found out, I was in love with her daughter, and killed me.&quot; Kopa explained in a solemn tone. <br />&quot;Killed you?&quot; He asked, half smiling. &quot;Seem pretty spry for a corpse.&quot; <br />&quot;I woke up, I don&#039;t know how. Amri found me, and a lot of my memories were stripped away. The shock of what happened, what she did to me. I lost everything because of her.&quot; He continued on. Looking up to the sky, he closed his eyes and drew in a deep breath. &quot; But I forgive her.&quot; <br />&quot;Why?&quot; <br />&quot;Because it&#039;s how I moved passed what had happened, and look to what I have now. I&#039;m mated to a loving lioness, two cubs. If she keeps riding me like this, there&#039;s more on the way.&quot; Kopa laughed, Ezeamaka laughed a little as well and settled his head back down. &quot; But, eventually. I forgot about the pain she caused me, because I had grown beyond it. My life goes on, and it&#039;s happy again. I didn&#039;t spend it dwelling on what could have been if she had never done it. I didn&rsquo;t let my past consume me, and thanks to what your father taught me, it never will.&quot;<br />&quot;Hmm, I see. But I wonder, how long will it be before I&#039;m forgiven for what I have done?&quot; He questioned himself. <br />&quot;No, not till we forgive you.&quot; Kopa interjected. &quot;Until you&#039;re ready to forgive yourself.&quot; Closing his eyes with a smile, Ezea looked out toward the Pride Lands once more. <br />&quot;Forgive myself. Guess I&#039;m a ways away.&quot; <br />&quot;Probably.&quot; Kopa smiled, agreeing with him. <br />&quot;Thanks for that.&quot; Ezea laughed. <br />&quot;Anytime.&quot; As they settled for a while longer, Ezea spoke up once more. <br />&quot;I&#039;m not gonna find it here.&quot; <br />&quot;No?&quot; <br />&quot;No. I guess that&#039;s why grand father&#039;s punishment makes sense. I have to accept what I have done, and I must do it alone. I&#039;ve leaned on lions like Ghavrah, Endi and Mother all my life. This is something Amri can&#039;t help me with, I have to find it myself.&quot; <br />&quot;Forgiveness.&quot; Kopa questioned. <br />&quot;That, and peace.&quot; He agreed. &quot;Spent my whole life, pissed off at one thing or another. Gotta find a better way to deal.&quot; <br />&quot;I wish you luck.&quot; <br />&quot;Thanks.&quot; Ezeamaka nodded, rising to his feet. Heading toward the ramp, he paused just before heading down. &quot;Do me one last favor?&quot; Kopa looked back to listen. <br />&quot;Sure.&quot; <br />&quot;Tell Ysura, she&#039;ll get her wish someday, I promise. She&#039;ll understand.&quot; <br />&quot;Got it.&quot; Kopa agreed. Ezeamaka made his way down, bumping into Amri face to face at the bottom. <br />&quot;Whoa, hi father.&quot; He greeted. <br />&quot;Hello son.&quot; Amri smiled. Scratching his head a moment, he thought about the best way to tell him.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br />&quot;Dad, I think it&#039;s time.&quot;<br />&quot;Time?&quot; He questioned. Ezeamaka nodded, gesturing beyond the Pride Lands. Amri looked back and hung his head, his eyes closed. &quot;I see.&quot; <br />&quot;Yeah. This is something I have to do on my own. I understand what Grandfather wants me to do. I think it&#039;s right.&quot; Ezeamaka explained. <br />&quot;Where will you go?&quot;Amri asked shyly. <br />&quot;I don&#039;t know. Maybe that&#039;s the point.&quot; He smiled. <br />&quot;Son, just let me talk to Simba. You don&#039;t have to-&quot; Amri began to explain, but he cut him off with a leap into his arms. Amri was stunned, his jaw dropped as his once spiteful son was embracing him. Nearly crying he wrapped him in his arms and rest his head on his son&#039;s neck and mane. Holding him a while, Ezeamaka pushed back and smiled. <br />&quot;Dad, I love you. I can&#039;t thank you enough for saving me. But this is something I have to do.&quot; Ezeamaka explained. Leaning to his ear, he softly whispered. &quot;I&#039;ll come home, when I&#039;m ready. Will you be here?&quot; Amri let a single tear escape before giving his answer. <br />&quot;I&#039;ll be here. For you son, I&#039;ll always be here.&quot; Ezeamaka, brushed his cheek passed his and walked ahead. Amri watched him take his first few steps away as he turned back. <br />&quot;Until next time, dad.&quot; He called back. Nodding he raised his paw in the air. <br />&quot;Until next time, my son.&quot; <br /><br />-The End. <br />&nbsp;<br /><br /><br /></span>",
