", "writing": "Exiting the gate, Tai and the others surveyed the area. They were standing a good ways away from the Server Tree, but Matt and the others were nowhere to be found. Davis huffed and turned back to Veemon. \n“Ok, let’s do this.” \n“Hang on.” Tai cut him off with a wave of his arm. “It’s too quiet. No sign of Matt, Sora or Izzy. I don’t think Willis got us close to them.” \n“Raseilmon, what do you see?” Meiko asked. \n“Hmm.” She closed her eyes and drew a good long breath. Abruptly her eyes bloomed wide. “He arises.” \n“Huh!?” Tai breathed as the ground began to tremble. The tree resonating crimson and black waves of energy, slowly building up toward the branches like an all consuming fire. “No.” He gasped. The tree exploded out in a massive surge of darkness, washing over the group and forcing them to avert their eyes. Tai slipped on the goggles to get a clear view of what was coming. Through the smoke and remnants of the tree, the monolithic avatar they dreaded began to rise. A terrifying hum rung out as it ascended and just as Homeostasis proposed, the creature stood at the very least over five hundred feet tall. The cannons perched on its shoulders alone could fit Imperialdramon with room to spare, and extending down from its base a cluster of thorn covered roots waving in the wind. \n“Tai!?” Davis called out. \n“Do it!” He agreed. “Agumon, with me!” \n“Veemon Digivolve to! Exveemon!” \n“Wormmon digivolve to! Stingmon!” \n“Exveemon! Stingmon! DNA digivolve to! Pialdramon!” \n“Paildramon Digivolve to! Imperialdramon!” Who immediately took to his fighter mode. \n“Gomamon warp digivolve to! Vikemon!” \n“Palmon warp digivolve to! Rosemon!” \n“Agumon! Focus on me.” Tai turned to him. “We gotta try, think we can form our bond again?” He insisted, holding Agumon’s shoulders. \n“Tai, I don’t know. It’s so strong. And last time, you were on my shoulders. If something were to happen this time.” He hesitated. \n“Agumon we gotta step up here.” Tai begged. “Huh!?”\n“Get down!” Rasielmon shouted raising a massive wall of ice. King Drasil formed up an array of cerulean crystals and each opened fire with a searing crimson beam. The blasts hit the wall of ice and shattered it while Vikemon, Imperialdramon, Rosemon and Aegismon shielded their partners. After the blast subsided and the wall shot down, Tai pressed on the communicator in his ear. \n“Matt! Sora! Izzy! Anyone, please come in! We can’t lose you!” \n“Izzy.” Mimi moaned “Please come back to me!” She cried out. \n“Positron Laser!” \n“Forbidden Temptation!” \n“Arctic Blizzard!” \n“Seraphin’s Blade!” \n“Knowledge Stream!” They all joined together in attacking. The blast harsh enough to knock King Drasil back a fair bit, but his armor remained unscathed. \n“It’s not enough.” Joe cried out. \n“I don’t care! Find a weak spot on that armor and blast him apart! I’m not about to give up now!” Davis cried out. \n“Positron Laser!” Imperialdramon resumed his attack leaping into the air along with the rest of the digimon. \n“Forbidden Temptation!” Rosemon joined in, however King Drasil offered up a reply in the form a cluster of crystals primed to fire on her.\n“Divine Shield!” Aegismon flew in to block the attack, taking the brunt of the lasers barrage as Rosemon flew up higher to the sky. \n“Agumon, we have to at least try!” Tai cried out. \n“Ok. Huh?” He turned to the sky. \n“Starlight Explosion!” \n“Mega Electroshocker!” \n“Metal Wolf Claw!” The three voices sounded out, blasting behind King Drasil as another Positron Laser hit him from the front. Matt, Sora and Izzy flew in alongside Phoenixmon, Herculeskabuterimon and Metalgarurumon and rejoined the group, their digimon dropping them off before returning to the battle. \n“You’re late!” Tai taunted with a smile. \n“Hey, I was already here first, what’s your excuse fearless leader?” Matt retorted, though he had no shortage of cuts and scrapes, including a nasty one on his cheek he cracked a smile at the sight of his friends. \n“Oh Izzy!!” Mimi cried out, lunging for him and holding him tight. “My gosh, look at you, you’re in bad shape. Want me to clean that cut on your head?” \n“I’m alright Mimi, really.” Izzy breathed a sigh of relief, kissing her neck. \n“What happened!?” Tai exclaimed. \n“We saw the place was about to blow so we ported out. Willis and Yolei reopened the gate but we ended just in range of that blast. We tried to contact you but Drasil fried everything we had that wasn’t a digivice or our bands. Even Izzy’s laptop is toast.” Matt explained. T.K suddenly rushed for his brother and gave him a big hug. \n“Don’t scare me like that again.” He stammered. \n“I ain’t that easy to take down.” Matt pat his brother’s back, taking in the quick embrace. \n“Sora, are you ok?” Meiko asked, clasping her hands. \n“I’m alright, a few cuts and bruises but I’ll live. By the way, how are you doing that with your hair? It’s really cool.” Sora complimented. \n“So!” A thunderous voice boomed over them. “You wish to take this battle in earnest. Very well, I withdraw my gracious offer of a swift demise. Instead, let us raise the stakes.” With that a massive dark vortex appeared beneath King Drasil and swallowed them all up, but just as though it were a passing flash they arrived in the digital world right outside the ruins Matt and his team entered. \n“The temple! We’re back in the digital world.” Izzy exclaimed. \n“Good, home field advantage!” Davis shouted. \n“We need to be careful, innocent digimon may be around.” Ken advised them. \n“We can’t afford to hold back, Ken.” Tai turned to face him. “If we don’t stop him here, the digital world and ours will fall! We save who we can, but give it everything you got!” \n“That’s what I like to hear!” Davis cheered. \n“Aegismon! Strike him down!” T.K cried out.\n“End it quickly!” Kari joined in. Flying up to King Drasil he raised up his sword, crackling with light the six lightforged blades surrounded him once again. \n“Crusade of the Light-keeper!” The blades flinging into King Drasil as he lunged in, the tip of his blade halted by the thick armor of the massive avatar. “Come on!” He shouted, leaping back as the blades exploded. “Seraphin’s Blade!” He fired on Drasil but this time he was able to retaliate and shoot Aegismon from behind with a crystal. \n“Tai, why aren’t you joining the fight!?” Matt bellowed. \n“I was hoping we could bond form again, but Agumon and I can’t seem to do it.” Tai replied. \n“Then let’s bring out our next best weapon!”\n“Right! Agumon, go for it!” \n“Agumon! Warp Digivolve to! Wargreymon!” \n“Wargreymon Digivolve to!” \n“Metalgarurumon Digivolve to!” The two called out, their bodies turning to data, the orange and blue sparks spiraling around each other until the converged once again. Throwing out his arms he called out.\n“Omnimon!” \n“Everyone, together!!” Tai and Matt called out. \n“Supreme Cannon!” \n“Arctic Blizzard!”\n“Forbidden Temptation!”\n“Starlight Explosion!”\n“Mega Electroshocker!” \n“Knowledge Stream!” \n“Positron Laser!” \n“Seraphin’s Blade!” The attacks striking the avatar with full force were enough to actually do some damage this time. Explosions rocked King Drasil’s form as he fell to the ground flat on his back. The impact causing the ground to shudder as chunks of the temple behind them began to crumble. \n“Woo hoo!! We nailed him!” Davis cheered. \n“Don’t celebrate yet.” Ken cut in. King Drasil replanted his roots in the ground and raised himself back up. \n“This is all you are?” The thunderous voice boomed across the darkened jungle. “The quantum data surges through this form! See the power I bring to bare!” Drasil began spawning thousands of crystals; forming a perimeter around the digi-destined they completely shrouded the night sky. With a glint of his eye, they fired. Thousands of beams shredding the earth and scorching the trees, the temple behind them blown away and their digimon shot down from the sky by the barrage. Tai’s breath was caught in his throat as the beams came for him and the others. All of time seem to stand still as a mass of explosions rung out around them. Their eyes going dark while their digimon landed nearby, reduced to their rookie forms. After a few moments, Tai coughed and took a good look around. The area had been seared in fire. The temple lay in ruins that burrowed deep into the ground, erupting in gouts of flame as the remnants burned. The trees leveled, sending massive plumes of ash into the ever darkening sky. However, with all the destruction, one thing did stand out as he turned around to see Meiko and Kari joining hands. Kari’s and Meiko’s light seemed to be harmonizing and had raised a shield around them to protect them from the attack. However while Kari simply fell to her knees, Meiko dropped down unconscious. \n“It’s not lookin too good, huh?” Young T.K’s voice wisped by Kari’s ear. Opening her eyes she saw herself back within realm the Kernel had brought her to before. \n“No, it’s not.” She confessed. “He’s too powerful.” \n“You’re no stranger to that.” He countered. “What makes this bad guy so different?” \n“You saw what he did. He blew us away with one attack. It took everything me and Meiko had just to protect our friends. I don’t know if we can win this one.” She stammered. \n“Kari.” He smiled and tipped his head. “You’re so forgetful.” \n“Huh?” Walking over to her he clasped her hands in his. \n“What do I keep telling you?” Kari thought to herself for a moment, wiping her eyes and smiling. \n“That hope will light the way.” \n“Right.” He approved, shaking her hand. “Ya gotta keep that in your heart. Even if you and T.K get separated, or all your friends. Your bonds, not just the ones with your digimon are unbreakable. All of you are connected to each other, sometimes that means putting your faith in others, just as they put theirs in you.” \n“I get what you mean.” Kari smiled. “We can’t just give up because we had a fall.”\n“Right.” He smiled as The Kernel began radiating with light. “I think we can do this one more time. I don’t know if you’ll be able to connect to me like this again. It could be the last time.” \n“If it’s to save my friends, I’ll do anything. After all, I always know where to find the light inside again.” Kari smiled. \n“Oh yea, I forgot to mention.” \n“Hmm?” Kari posed to him. \n“Thanks for saving Leomon this time. Hahahahaha!” He laughed alongside Kari. \nBack in the digital world, Kari eased herself onto her feet and surveyed the area. It seemed only a second had passed since the attack. T.K and the others were mostly unscathed from the blasts themselves. However their digimon were all collapsed on the ground and barely conscious. \n“Meiko!” Tai rushed over, cradling her in his lap. “Meiko, say something. Speak to me!” \n“Tai!” Meicoomon cried out, crawling over to Meiko and laying across her belly. “She’s... Too weak... We’re... So tired.” \n“Tai.” Agumon moaned. Tai didn’t hesitate, he rushed over and picked up his partner and held him tight, bringing him over to Meiko and Meicoomon. \n“Gabumon, are you ok?” Matt begged. \n“So, exhausted.” He whimpered. \n“Don’t worry Sora, I’ll protect you.” Biyomon moaned in Sora’s arms. \n“Hey Davis, got a snack or something I could use a pick me up.” Veemon begged. \n“Nah, Cody jacked my last energy bar before we left, how bout this?” He smiled down to him, picking him up and cradling him in his arms. \n“We have to think of something.” Izzy stated, holding tight to Tentomon. “It can’t end like this.” \n“No way. We can’t give up. So many people are depending on us.” Mimi joined in. \n“Pitiful.” Drasil taunted, hovering closer and closer to them. “A miserable attempt to defeat me. Your powers are too weak, your bodies, frail. Your digimon tainted by your human compassions. It is time, for the light to fade.” He said, taking aim with another cluster of crystals. Kari reached down and clasped T.K’s hand, hoisting him and Patamon up while Gatomon jumped onto her shoulder. Kari’s body began radiating with light, and this time so did T.K’s. They felt it surge through their very being, their pupils vanishing as it stabilized and the two walked hand in hand toward King Drasil. \n“You know nothing of the light.” Kari and T.K spoke as one, their voice boomed across the decimated area. \n“We shall see.” He answered in a low, thunderous growl. Firing on T.K and Kari, Matt and Tai cried out. \n“No!” The blast however never made it to them, a sphere of light encompassed both of them as they continued to walk forward. \n“Light is born from darkness, darkness finds its way north to become water, while light sails south to give birth to fire. Wind ebbs and flows between the light and the dark, light slips inside darkness where it returns to earth. Should the cycle end, and all fall to darkness. All will become entropy, all will become death. A stagnant, dead world destined for oblivion. However. Should the light prevail fully, then all shall become fire. The flames of creation ever burning, ever consuming. The harmony destroyed. You have become flawed, King Drasil. Your purpose has been corrupted, and for that you must be stopped.” Kari and T.K answered, turning back to their friends and family. “I will give you all the strength I have, but you must harmonize with your digimon. You know of what I speak.” \n“Harmonize with them.” Tai breathed. Thinking for a moment with Meiko in his lap, he turned to Agumon with a smile. “Right, this time I have to trust you. I asked a lot of you when you gave your consciousness data to me. I felt it inside. I even got your cravings.” He chuckled. \n“Aww Tai.” Agumon smiled. Matt produced the harmonica from his pocket. \n“So, we gotta harmonize huh? What do you guys think? One more song?” He smiled. \n“Play us out.” Sora replied, taking Biyomon into her arms tight. T.K and Kari raised their hands and called forth a massive sphere of light around the entire group, including them. As Matt began playing, Tai, Sora, Matt, Izzy, Mimi and Joe took their digimon in close, holding them as their new crests began to resonate. The quiet light seemed to hum along with the song, the wounds on their bodies healing and their digimon growing in strength. Even Veemon and Wormmon found their feet as Patamon and Gatomon held hands, standing before T.K and Kari. Meiko awoke, much to Meicoomon’s delight, watching as Tai and Agumon began to fade away in a vast wave of orange energy. As the song ended, the sphere burst up, firing a massive light into the sky, piercing the thick smoke and ash that had formed from the fires and scattering it to the horizon. Rising through the pillar of light were shimmers of orange, blue, green, pink, purple and grey. However to the digi-destined, all they could see was their own digimon in front of them as they rose to the top of the sky. As the light began to subside, they stood together all six of them having made it to their final forms. Agumon Bond of Bravery along with Gabumon Bond of Friendship had returned joined by all the others, but this time the digi-destined were not perched on their shoulders, but instead joined into the hearts of their digimon. \nBiyomon, Bond of Love appeared as a vast phoenix-winged and tailed humanoid, the majority of her body save for her human torso covered in orange feathers tipped with blue flecks at the end. Her eyes, shimmering blue just like Biyomon’s and her feet and hands bared more resemblance to bird like feet and talons than human. Her head had a shape very similar to Biyomon, save for her face where the more human traits prevailed. \nTentomon, Bond of Knowledge wore green eyes, partially veiled by a helmet that resembled the head of Kabuterimon, save for the set of eyes, just off set from his human ones that resembled Tentomon’s. He bore an array of six rounded insectoid wings on his back, along with spined armor that covered his torso and legs. His hands a perfect match to the style of Kabuterimon, while his feet were more pincer like. Hooked stingers seemed to protrude from his shoulders, elbows and knees. \nPalmon, Bond of Sincerity was dressed in a near prismatic flower petal like skirt, each petal overlapping the other till reaching their apex on her left thigh. Her boots and arms dressed a great deal like Lillymon’s but much more form fitting, and the flowered cuffs of which shimmered with the same pink and violet hues her skirt seemed to resonate with. Her top a near perfect match to Rosemon, save for matching the color of the rest of her attire. But what stood out most was her verdant hair that spanned nearly the full length of her back, blowing gently in the breeze. She flung from her back a pair of opaque butterfly wings and smiled with her warm face and green eyes.\nGomamon, Bond of Reliability was the largest of the group, hefting a great two handed hammer on his back along with a massive two handed axe. His head bore Gomamons yellow eyes and red hair creeping from a chrome digizoid viking style helmet. Even bearing a fair bit of facial hair, the red beard didn’t span very far, but enough to give distinction to his face. His shoulders clad in fur armor, blended in shades of white and purple, along with hefty iron armor across his chest and solid leg plates bearing the crest of reliability. His feet seemed modified versions of Gomamon’s hands, while his actual hands bore more resemblance to Vikemon. \n“Is that!?” Ken shuddered. \n“I can’t believe it!” Davis exclaimed. \n“Wow!” Meicoomon awed. \n“Took the words right outta my mouth.” Veemon agreed. Smiling, Agumon flew down to the ground and stood before them. \n“What, gonna let us have all the fun?” Both Tai and Agumon Bond of Bravery spoke together. “This fight isn’t over till it’s over, and we stand the best chance if we fight together as one.” \n“Right!” Meiko jumped up. \n“I’m so in!” Davis cheered. \n“Let’s do this!” Ken joined right in beside him. \n“You ready Gatomon?” Kari asked, her form still radiating with light. \n“I still got six or seven lives left, yeah!” She answered back. \n“Count me in!” Patamon smiled. \n“Right. You wanted to see what we’re made of King Drasil!?” Agumon shouted. “Here we come!” leaping into the sky, he was swiftly followed by Imperialdramon, Raseilmon and Aegismon who joined the formation of the new digimon. \n“Let it all be laid bare then. Let no doubts linger, let the truth come to pass. I will bring this world into the everlasting darkness!” King Drasil shouted. \n“You sure talk a lot! Take a mouthful of this!” Palmon rushed in, releasing a flurry of efflorescent pedals into the air that circled around King Drasil. Coming to a halt, she snapped her fingers and the pedals exploded in a massive cluster. Tentomon began charging a massive amount of electrical energy while Gabumon released his Full-Metal Machinegun attack, sending hundreds of explosive rounds that peppered the avatar. Biyomon gathered in her hands a highly compressed green vortex and launching it forward it fired out a massive fiery tornado that blasted King Drasil back. Not a second after, Tentomon unleashed a massive bolt of lightning that blew one of King Drasil’s cannons clear off his shoulder while Agumon began to channel a torrent of fire into Drasil’s face. \n“Knowledge Stream!” \n“Positron Laser!” Imperialdramon fired alongside Rasielmon. Their blasts aimed for the second canon and while it did hefty damage to it, it didn’t break off. \n“Crusade of the Light-keeper!” Aegismon called out, as Gomamon lunged for King Drasil with both weapons drawn. Roaring, Gomamon charged them both with an immense amount of lightning and leapt into the air. Aegismon and Gomamon struck together as lightning crashed and exploded upon King Drasil, knocking him a good hundred feet back. Gabumon and Agumon flew together, fists primed for King Drasil’s head and slammed it in one ferocious hit, the blow knocking the massive avatar to the ground. \n“Now! Fire!” Agumon called out, as Gabumon, Tentomon, Biyomon, Rasielmon and Imperialdramon fired down upon him. The force from their attacks shaking the earth as the digi-destined did their best to subdue the massive avatar. However King Drasil wasn’t about to let the fight go so easily; conjuring a mass of crystals behind the digi-destined as Gabumon, Palmon and Biyomon were forced to change targets. Gabumon shed from his mane the Raddle Stars, homing missile like creations that sought out the crystals and shot them down with a swift laser blast, while Biyomon captured up a mass of them with a fiery tornado. Palmon attempted to perform the same technique she had opened up with on King Drasil but the remaining crystals were primed to fire. Aegismon and Gomamon leapt up, doing their best to shield their friends from the attacks, Gomamon with his weapons and Aegismon with his shield and managed to spare Biyomon and Palmon the brunt of it. Gabumon was able to dodge a few but caught enough blasts to be left disoriented. \n“Gabumon!” Biyomon cried out, rushing to his side. “Are you alright?” She asked, clasping his chest. Matt and Gabumon couldn’t help but smile, hearing both of their voices. \n“I’m fine, don’t worry.” He answered.\n“You guys! Take a look!” Tentomon called out, as King Drasil began to rise up once more, his armor was repairing itself along with the cannons on his shoulder. “He’s healing himself.” \n“Oh great, any ideas? I’m all ears.” Gomamon asked. \n“Rasielmon, any suggestions?” Agumon rushed to her side. \n“Yes, I believe so.” She replied, clasping his right hand. “King Drasil has a stabilizing core buried beneath the thickest part of his armor, just below the head. We must break through and disable the core, for without that, he cannot stabilize the quantum data he used to create this avatar.” \n“Right, just one problem.” Gabumon spoke up. \n“He’s not gonna just let us keep firing on him in one spot.” Biyomon answered. \n“We don’t need to. One good shot should do it.” Rasielmon smiled, gripping Agumon’s hand tighter. It was enough to catch his attention and meet her eye to eye. “You’ve a blessing from a departed friend, do you not?” Agumon’s eyes went wide for a moment, realizing what she had meant. He recalled back to earlier in the night when Dorumon sacrificed himself to Save Tai. \n*Hopefully, it’s just.. Just temporary. You’ll know when to use it.* \n“Get down!!” Tentomon called out. Another flurry of crystals had formed up and as they fired, they managed to get out of the way enough to dodge the bulk of the blasts. Settling up, they retook formation before King Drasil as he towered over them once more, fully repaired and priming his main cannons now. Agumon closed his eyes, and deep within his heart Tai and Agumon were standing side by side, hand in hand as the visage of a dragon digimon passed around them. \n“I felt it, when he gave it to me.” Agumon said. \n“Hmm?” Tai shifted his head, but both of them kept their eyes closed. \n“I almost think it’s a digimon. But, also a weapon. I just know the name, Ouryuken.” Agumon continued to explain. \n“His sword.” Tai whispered. Opening his eyes to the digital world Agumon extended out his right arm. A verdant ring appeared, flashing over his hand, as the sword Alphamon once carried digitized from his body. Golden wings flung from Agumon’s back, while the blue marks that covered his body turned scarlet red along with his eyes. \n“Alphamon.” King Drasil growled, aiming his cannons at Agumon. Firing a massive crimson blast from both, Aegismon leapt into the path of it, his shield extending out a massive wall of light. \n“Final Bastion!” He cried out as the blasts hammered down on him. \n“Guys, keep me covered.” Agumon stated, swinging the sword out in front of him and clasping it in both hands. “We get one clean shot. When I crack him open, fire at that core with everything you got!” He shouted, his body beginning to radiate with flames. \n“We got this!” Davis clenched his fist, standing beside Ken and Meiko. T.K and Kari watched on, hand in hand as the light still radiated from them both. The cannon blasts subsided and an exhausted Aegismon stood by Agumon to recover from the attack. \n“We’ll keep that big oaf distracted, count on us!” Palmon smiled. \n“Now we end this!” Gabumon cried out, leading the charge as everyone ran in to steal away King Drasil’s attention. Drasil attempted to fire a new cluster of shots at the digi-destined, but they retaliated, blasting away the crystals as they formed. \n“Biyomon! Give me a boost!” Gomamon called out. Swooping down, she captured him in her talons and flung him up onto King Drasil’s shoulder. In one swift maneuver, he cleaved the cannon from King Drasil’s shoulder with his axe. Sheathing the blade, he swung out the mace and hurled it at the other cannon, blowing it clear off his shoulder, the mace flung back around to Gomamon who slipped it back onto his back. \n“Great shot!” Palmon complimented, having circled around Drasil she had laid her trap while Gomamon leapt from the avatar and caught Palmon’s hand. Getting him to a safe enough distance she turned around. “Who doesn’t like a little flower shower?” She giggled with a snap of her fingers explosions lashed across King Drasil’s body. Gabumon, Tentomon and Biyomon began to relentlessly fire on King Drasil as Imperialdramon and Rasielmon joined them in the attack. Agumon’s Ouryuken began to ignite, his whole body surging with crimson energy, he offered a quick glance to Aegismon and nodded. \n“I’m with you.” He answered, as the two began their final charge for King Drasil. Agumon and Aegismon drew closer and closer, Drasil attempting to cut him off by raising arrays of crystals to shoot him down with. The first array being homed in and blasted by Gabumon’s raddle stars, the second seared by a fiery tornado from Biyomon. A knowledge Stream blowing away the third as Agumon took to the sky high above King Drasil and raised the sword over his head. Crying out at the top of his lungs, Agumon slashed down, a dead center shot at the heart of King Drasil. Aegismon leaping in, he raised his shield to cover himself and Agumon as a horizon igniting explosion followed instantly after. The shockwave from the blast knocked the digi-destined back a fair bit while forcing everyone in the sky and on the ground to shield their eyes. When the blast subsided, King Drasil was left floating in the air, his armor completely sundered and a dark crimson core that radiated with darkness exposed. \n“Now!! Give it all you got!” Gabumon shouted, opening up with his Full-Metal Machinegun attack. Biyomon focused her fire tornado on the core while Palmon channeled a torrent of verdant energy on it. Tentomon kept a steady stream of lightning on the core, alongside Gomamon who was doing the same, aiming the bolt with his mace. Imperialdramon kept his laser fire on it as well, while Rasielmon channeled a torrent of Knowledge Streams. The core was heating up rapidly, and though he tried to repair it, the blasts prevented any attempt of closing the wound. \n“No.” King Drasil called out. “I cannot, fall. I... Will ... Prevail.” He gasped. “RAAAAHHH!!!” King Drasil bellowed as the core exploded. His avatar form shattering, as massive chunks exploded from his body. The pieces falling to the ground and as his head struck the earth, the data from the avatar erupted in a plume of prismatic light. \n“We did it!! Yeah-haha!!!” Davis cheered at the top of his lungs, leaping into the air with joy. \n“King Drasil is defeated at last!!” Ken cried out, letting a few happy tears escape. Kari and T.K turned to each other and smiled, holding each other closer. \n“Wait a second, where’s Agumon, where’s Tai?” Gabumon asked. \n“Huh?” Tentomon perked up, searching the area. “I don’t know, after the blast.” \n“No, you don’t think!?” Palmon cried, covering her mouth. \n“You didn’t see it.” Rasielmon smiled. “Be at ease my friends, I know where they are.” She said in a soothing tone, leading the group down into a small clearing of sundered trees. Agumon was still in his Bond of Bravery form, and on top of him was Aegismon. “I can’t thank you enough, Aegismon.” She smiled, gently rolling him over. \n“Ugh, my ears are still ringing.” He moaned, rubbing his head. Agumon picked himself up and after a fair bit of rubbing his own head; he took special note of Aegismon nearby and placed a hand on his shoulder. \n“Thanks you guys.” He said in a raspy voice. \n“What happened?” Tentomon eagerly asked. \n“Everytime Alphamon swung that sword, a mass of explosions always followed.” Aegismon answered. “I knew that this time would be no different.” \n“Right when I hit em, Aegismon jumped in and shielded me from the blast. Though I think we flew half a mile in a split second.” Agumon joined in. \n“I’m just glad you’re ok.” Rasielmon smiled, helping Agumon to his feet. Gabumon and Biyomon assisted Aegismon up as well. Taking to the skies, they flew over to join Kari, T.K, Meiko, Ken and Davis and immediately upon landing were cheering the arrival of their friends. De-digivolving back into their base forms, the digi-destined gathered up and hugged their partners and each other. Another portal opened up behind them, and with it came Yolei, Hawkmon, Armadillomon, Lopmon, Terriermon and Cody was helping Willis through. \n“You guys did it!” Willis stammered, wiping away a tear. \n“Humph!” Cody marched over to Izzy and stood in front of him with a scowl. \n“Uh! Oh, right. I’m sorry Cody.” Izzy politely bowed. Snickering Cody rushed in and gave him a good hug. \n“Don’t apologize, I was hurt and you did what you thought was best. You might have very well saved my life.” He answered. Kari and T.K fell to their knees and were breathing heavily. Turning to Kari in a wake of sweat he smiled. \n“See, told ya that beautiful light of your would light the way.”\n“Ok Flirtmon. Save it for when I catch my breath so I can reward you properly.” She winked. \n“Kari!!” Gatomon rushed in for Kari and held her while Patamon did the same for T.K. \n“You guys were amazing!” Patamon cheered. \n“Ah, I could use a good long cat-nap.” \n“We all deserve some R&R.” Tai agreed, looking down at Agumon’s hand he noticed the mark was gone. “No more tatoo for you huh buddy?” \n“Nope, I guess it really was just temporary.” Agumon smiled. “But it sure did help. Thanks Dorumon.” \n“We made it worth it.” Tai chuckled turning to Matt.\n“We did.” Matt nodded, raising his hand to high-five Tai. Slapping it right away the two carried on laughing, holding tight to their digimon as Gennai appeared before them with a darkened sphere in his hand. \n“Well, good to see you’re all in one piece.” He greeted. \n“Master Gennai.” Everyone answered, though some voices were a bit more soft than others. \n“When the avatar went down, King Drasil’s defenses dropped and I was able to capture his essence with this. I’ll bring it to the Kernel myself, but I have a hunch I know what’s going to happen to it.” Gennai carried on explaining. \n“Please tell me it’s going down a garbage disposal.” Davis spoke up. \n“Haha, no Davis, sadly not the case. The Kernel was correct in saying that King Drasil served an essential part of the digital world. I just hope that if I’m chosen to bear the weight of it that I’m up to the task. But that’s not a worry for you.” Gennai stashed the sphere away and set himself down on his knees. “The only thing I can say to you, is please accept my eternal gratitude for once again saving the digital and real worlds. What you’ve been able to accomplish with and without your digimon is beyond the scope that even Homeostasis could have imagined. For that, I’m happy to say that your partnerships will carry on for your full life times and that your deeds will be etched into the history of the digital world, forever. On behalf of all those you have saved through the years, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.” Everyone smiled and gave their partners a quick hug before Tai spoke up. \n“I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat, just to be with all of you guys.” \n“I’d do it again for some food!” Agumon jumped in. \n“We’d never turn our backs on our friends.” Matt smiled. \n“Or our family, cause that’s what we are.” Gabumon added in. \n“We love each other, even if we butt heads now and then.” Sora chuckled. \n“And we always will!” Biyomon joined in.\n“I’ll never forget all the amazing things I’ve learned about the digital world over the years, it’s been a true joy to gain such knowledge.” Izzy stated. \n“Even if you do use fourteen words where three would do.” Tentomon joked. \n“I remember being so scared of this place. Now I can’t imagine life without it.” Mimi smiled, holding Palmon in front of her. \n“We won’t have to, cause we’ll always be together and we can always come back.” \n“I kept thinking of being digi-destined as a burden. But being with Gomamon and you guys really put things in perspective. I’ll treasure that forever.” Joe said, adjusting his glasses. \n“I’ll always be here to keep ya on track, Joe!” Gomamon praised. T.K gave a quick chuckle before saying.\n“Even when things were at their worst, I held fast to the hope that we’d all pull through. Maybe that’s why I always feel best when we’re all together too, like you Matt.” \n“It’s your hope that gives us all strength, you have a strong heart T.K, I’ve always believed in you.” Patamon smiled. \n“How bout that Kari.” Gatomon smiled. “I’ll never leave ya now, you’re stuck with me for life.” \n“Then let’s make it nine long healthy ones.” Kari giggled, kissing Gatomon’s head. \n“I love all you guys, but the adventure’s not over. We got our whole lives ahead of us and I promise not to waste a second of it. There’s still so much we haven’t seen or done yet!” Davis cheered. \n“Yeah Davis, you got the right idea! We’ll see it through together now that we’re together for life. I promise to always stand by you and all my friends, no matter how tough it gets!” Veemon joined in. \n“Agreed, we’ll stick together. We’ve proven today what we can accomplish is beyond imagination.” Ken paused and gazed up at the night receding night sky. “I hope you’re proud of me Sam.” Ken smiled. \n“Your brother loved you Ken, just like I do.” Wormmon nuzzled him. “I’ll stick by you through everything.” Yolei took Ken’s arm and leaned on his shoulder. \n“We’ll always stay true to each other. I think that’s our greatest strength.” \n“One of many, and now we must look to the future together. Let’s hope it’s a peaceful one.” Hawkmon smiled. \n“Maybe that’s what we should do next. No more fighting, just helping the digi-world rebuild. Something constructive instead of destructive.” Cody thought aloud. \n“I’m on board for that.” Armadillomon raised his paw. \n“I should get back to the states but, I hope you all won’t mind if I make a habit of visiting you? We’ve been through so much already, I don’t want to miss being a part of this family.” Willis requested. \n“Please!” Both Lopmon and Terriermon begged. \n“I’d take it personal if you didn’t visit, Willis. You’re one of us for life, we got your back.” Tai strolled over, placing a hand on his shoulder. \n“Hmmm.” Meiko moaned, watching the sun rise with Meicoomon in her arms. “You all have such sweet things to say but. It’s funny. The only thing that comes to mind for me. After everything we’ve been through together. How we’ve helped each other, been there for each other. Well.” She giggled as Meicoomon smiled up to her. Turning around they both bowed and spoke together. “Dandan.” \n“Oh Mei-mei!” Mimi dove in, giving her a good long hug. “You’re too adorable!” Tai walked over and Mimi released Meiko to his arms and threw up her brow. “Better treat her right, fearless leader.” She playfully warned. \n“Always listen to Mimi.” He laughed briefly. The sun began sweeping across the fallen trees, the smoke and haze steadily clearing while the digi-destined all turned to watch it creep over the horizon. Kari and T.K brought their brothers and girlfriends close together to stand as one big group while Izzy and Mimi took to a spot beside Ken and Yolei. Cody pat Willis’s back while Joe and Davis walked over to join him. Everyone watched on in silence, embracing each other’s company until the sun finally ascended fully and the day began. Agumon was the first to break the silence. \n“It’s breakfast time, right?” \n“Aww.” Everyone collectively awed. \n“Yeah, I could eat.” Veemon agreed. \n“So could I.” Gabumon approved. \n“French toast please!” Hawkmon spoke up. \n“I bet Izzy’s got some bacon and eggs back at his place!” Gomamon proclaimed. \n“I’ll help cook!” Biyomon offered. \n“Me too!” Palmon joined in. \n“Well, it’s settled then.” Tai laughed, rubbing the back of his head. “Gennai, you got it from here?” \n“Certainly Tai. We’ll be in touch, Digi-emissary.” He winked with a thumbs up. “Hang on.” Tai cut him off with a wave of his arm. “It’s too quiet. No sign of Matt, Sora or Izzy. I don’t think Willis got us close to them.”
“Raseilmon, what do you see?” Meiko asked.
“Hmm.” She closed her eyes and drew a good long breath. Abruptly her eyes bloomed wide. “He arises.”
“Huh!?” Tai breathed as the ground began to tremble. The tree resonating crimson and black waves of energy, slowly building up toward the branches like an all consuming fire. “No.” He gasped. The tree exploded out in a massive surge of darkness, washing over the group and forcing them to avert their eyes. Tai slipped on the goggles to get a clear view of what was coming. Through the smoke and remnants of the tree, the monolithic avatar they dreaded began to rise. A terrifying hum rung out as it ascended and just as Homeostasis proposed, the creature stood at the very least over five hundred feet tall. The cannons perched on its shoulders alone could fit Imperialdramon with room to spare, and extending down from its base a cluster of thorn covered roots waving in the wind.
“Tai!?” Davis called out.
“Do it!” He agreed. “Agumon, with me!”
“Veemon Digivolve to! Exveemon!”
“Wormmon digivolve to! Stingmon!”
“Exveemon! Stingmon! DNA digivolve to! Pialdramon!”
“Paildramon Digivolve to! Imperialdramon!” Who immediately took to his fighter mode.
“Gomamon warp digivolve to! Vikemon!”
“Palmon warp digivolve to! Rosemon!”
“Agumon! Focus on me.” Tai turned to him. “We gotta try, think we can form our bond again?” He insisted, holding Agumon’s shoulders.
“Tai, I don’t know. It’s so strong. And last time, you were on my shoulders. If something were to happen this time.” He hesitated.
“Agumon we gotta step up here.” Tai begged. “Huh!?”
“Get down!” Rasielmon shouted raising a massive wall of ice. King Drasil formed up an array of cerulean crystals and each opened fire with a searing crimson beam. The blasts hit the wall of ice and shattered it while Vikemon, Imperialdramon, Rosemon and Aegismon shielded their partners. After the blast subsided and the wall shot down, Tai pressed on the communicator in his ear.
“Matt! Sora! Izzy! Anyone, please come in! We can’t lose you!”
“Izzy.” Mimi moaned “Please come back to me!” She cried out.
“Positron Laser!”
“Forbidden Temptation!”
“Arctic Blizzard!”
“Seraphin’s Blade!”
“Knowledge Stream!” They all joined together in attacking. The blast harsh enough to knock King Drasil back a fair bit, but his armor remained unscathed.
“It’s not enough.” Joe cried out.
“I don’t care! Find a weak spot on that armor and blast him apart! I’m not about to give up now!” Davis cried out.
“Positron Laser!” Imperialdramon resumed his attack leaping into the air along with the rest of the digimon.
“Forbidden Temptation!” Rosemon joined in, however King Drasil offered up a reply in the form a cluster of crystals primed to fire on her.
“Divine Shield!” Aegismon flew in to block the attack, taking the brunt of the lasers barrage as Rosemon flew up higher to the sky.
“Agumon, we have to at least try!” Tai cried out.
“Ok. Huh?” He turned to the sky.
“Starlight Explosion!”
“Mega Electroshocker!”
“Metal Wolf Claw!” The three voices sounded out, blasting behind King Drasil as another Positron Laser hit him from the front. Matt, Sora and Izzy flew in alongside Phoenixmon, Herculeskabuterimon and Metalgarurumon and rejoined the group, their digimon dropping them off before returning to the battle.
“You’re late!” Tai taunted with a smile.
“Hey, I was already here first, what’s your excuse fearless leader?” Matt retorted, though he had no shortage of cuts and scrapes, including a nasty one on his cheek he cracked a smile at the sight of his friends.  
“Oh Izzy!!” Mimi cried out, lunging for him and holding him tight. “My gosh, look at you, you’re in bad shape. Want me to clean that cut on your head?”
“I’m alright Mimi, really.” Izzy breathed a sigh of relief, kissing her neck.
“What happened!?” Tai exclaimed.
“We saw the place was about to blow so we ported out. Willis and Yolei reopened the gate but we ended just in range of that blast. We tried to contact you but Drasil fried everything we had that wasn’t a digivice or our bands. Even Izzy’s laptop is toast.” Matt explained. T.K suddenly rushed for his brother and gave him a big hug.
“Don’t scare me like that again.” He stammered.
“I ain’t that easy to take down.” Matt pat his brother’s back, taking in the quick embrace.
“Sora, are you ok?” Meiko asked, clasping her hands.
“I’m alright, a few cuts and bruises but I’ll live. By the way, how are you doing that with your hair? It’s really cool.” Sora complimented.
“So!” A thunderous voice boomed over them. “You wish to take this battle in earnest. Very well, I withdraw my gracious offer of a swift demise. Instead, let us raise the stakes.” With that a massive dark vortex appeared beneath King Drasil and swallowed them all up, but just as though it were a passing flash they arrived in the digital world right outside the ruins Matt and his team entered.
“The temple! We’re back in the digital world.” Izzy exclaimed.
“Good, home field advantage!” Davis shouted.
“We need to be careful, innocent digimon may be around.” Ken advised them.
“We can’t afford to hold back, Ken.” Tai turned to face him. “If we don’t stop him here, the digital world and ours will fall! We save who we can, but give it everything you got!”
“That’s what I like to hear!” Davis cheered.
“Aegismon! Strike him down!” T.K cried out.
“End it quickly!” Kari joined in. Flying up to King Drasil he raised up his sword, crackling with light the six lightforged blades surrounded him once again.
“Crusade of the Light-keeper!” The blades flinging into King Drasil as he lunged in, the tip of his blade halted by the thick armor of the massive avatar. “Come on!” He shouted, leaping back as the blades exploded. “Seraphin’s Blade!” He fired on Drasil but this time he was able to retaliate and shoot Aegismon from behind with a crystal.
“Tai, why aren’t you joining the fight!?” Matt bellowed.
“I was hoping we could bond form again, but Agumon and I can’t seem to do it.” Tai replied.
“Then let’s bring out our next best weapon!”
“Right! Agumon, go for it!”
“Agumon! Warp Digivolve to! Wargreymon!”
“Wargreymon Digivolve to!”
“Metalgarurumon Digivolve to!” The two called out, their bodies turning to data, the orange and blue sparks spiraling around each other until the converged once again. Throwing out his arms he called out.
“Omnimon!”
“Everyone, together!!” Tai and Matt called out.
“Supreme Cannon!”
“Arctic Blizzard!”
“Forbidden Temptation!”
“Starlight Explosion!”
“Mega Electroshocker!”
“Knowledge Stream!”
“Positron Laser!”
“Seraphin’s Blade!” The attacks striking the avatar with full force were enough to actually do some damage this time. Explosions rocked King Drasil’s form as he fell to the ground flat on his back. The impact causing the ground to shudder as chunks of the temple behind them began to crumble.
“Woo hoo!! We nailed him!” Davis cheered.
“Don’t celebrate yet.” Ken cut in. King Drasil replanted his roots in the ground and raised himself back up.
“This is all you are?” The thunderous voice boomed across the darkened jungle. “The quantum data surges through this form! See the power I bring to bare!” Drasil began spawning thousands of crystals; forming a perimeter around the digi-destined they completely shrouded the night sky. With a glint of his eye, they fired. Thousands of beams shredding the earth and scorching the trees, the temple behind them blown away and their digimon shot down from the sky by the barrage. Tai’s breath was caught in his throat as the beams came for him and the others. All of time seem to stand still as a mass of explosions rung out around them. Their eyes going dark while their digimon landed nearby, reduced to their rookie forms. After a few moments, Tai coughed and took a good look around. The area had been seared in fire. The temple lay in ruins that burrowed deep into the ground, erupting in gouts of flame as the remnants burned. The trees leveled, sending massive plumes of ash into the ever darkening sky. However, with all the destruction, one thing did stand out as he turned around to see Meiko and Kari joining hands. Kari’s and Meiko’s light seemed to be harmonizing and had raised a shield around them to protect them from the attack. However while Kari simply fell to her knees, Meiko dropped down unconscious.
“It’s not lookin too good, huh?” Young T.K’s voice wisped by Kari’s ear. Opening her eyes she saw herself back within realm the Kernel had brought her to before.
“No, it’s not.” She confessed. “He’s too powerful.”
“You’re no stranger to that.” He countered. “What makes this bad guy so different?”
“You saw what he did. He blew us away with one attack. It took everything me and Meiko had just to protect our friends. I don’t know if we can win this one.” She stammered.
“Kari.” He smiled and tipped his head. “You’re so forgetful.”
“Huh?” Walking over to her he clasped her hands in his.
“What do I keep telling you?” Kari thought to herself for a moment, wiping her eyes and smiling.
“That hope will light the way.”
“Right.” He approved, shaking her hand. “Ya gotta keep that in your heart. Even if you and T.K get separated, or all your friends. Your bonds, not just the ones with your digimon are unbreakable. All of you are connected to each other, sometimes that means putting your faith in others, just as they put theirs in you.”
“I get what you mean.” Kari smiled. “We can’t just give up because we had a fall.”
“Right.” He smiled as The Kernel began radiating with light. “I think we can do this one more time. I don’t know if you’ll be able to connect to me like this again. It could be the last time.”
“If it’s to save my friends, I’ll do anything. After all, I always know where to find the light inside again.” Kari smiled.
“Oh yea, I forgot to mention.”
“Hmm?” Kari posed to him.
“Thanks for saving Leomon this time. Hahahahaha!” He laughed alongside Kari.
Back in the digital world, Kari eased herself onto her feet and surveyed the area. It seemed only a second had passed since the attack. T.K and the others were mostly unscathed from the blasts themselves. However their digimon were all collapsed on the ground and barely conscious.
“Meiko!” Tai rushed over, cradling her in his lap. “Meiko, say something. Speak to me!”
“Tai!” Meicoomon cried out, crawling over to Meiko and laying across her belly. “She’s... Too weak... We’re... So tired.”
“Tai.” Agumon moaned. Tai didn’t hesitate, he rushed over and picked up his partner and held him tight, bringing him over to Meiko and Meicoomon.
“Gabumon, are you ok?” Matt begged.
“So, exhausted.” He whimpered.
“Don’t worry Sora, I’ll protect you.” Biyomon moaned in Sora’s arms.
“Hey Davis, got a snack or something I could use a pick me up.” Veemon begged.
“Nah, Cody jacked my last energy bar before we left, how bout this?” He smiled down to him, picking him up and cradling him in his arms.
“We have to think of something.” Izzy stated, holding tight to Tentomon. “It can’t end like this.”
“No way. We can’t give up. So many people are depending on us.” Mimi joined in.
“Pitiful.” Drasil taunted, hovering closer and closer to them. “A miserable attempt to defeat me. Your powers are too weak, your bodies, frail. Your digimon tainted by your human compassions. It is time, for the light to fade.” He said, taking aim with another cluster of crystals. Kari reached down and clasped T.K’s hand, hoisting him and Patamon up while Gatomon jumped onto her shoulder. Kari’s body began radiating with light, and this time so did T.K’s. They felt it surge through their very being, their pupils vanishing as it stabilized and the two walked hand in hand toward King Drasil.  
“You know nothing of the light.” Kari and T.K spoke as one, their voice boomed across the decimated area.
“We shall see.” He answered in a low, thunderous growl. Firing on T.K and Kari, Matt and Tai cried out.
“No!” The blast however never made it to them, a sphere of light encompassed both of them as they continued to walk forward.
“Light is born from darkness, darkness finds its way north to become water, while light sails south to give birth to fire. Wind ebbs and flows between the light and the dark, light slips inside darkness where it returns to earth. Should the cycle end, and all fall to darkness. All will become entropy, all will become death. A stagnant, dead world destined for oblivion. However. Should the light prevail fully, then all shall become fire. The flames of creation ever burning, ever consuming. The harmony destroyed. You have become flawed, King Drasil. Your purpose has been corrupted, and for that you must be stopped.” Kari and T.K answered, turning back to their friends and family. “I will give you all the strength I have, but you must harmonize with your digimon. You know of what I speak.”
“Harmonize with them.” Tai breathed. Thinking for a moment with Meiko in his lap, he turned to Agumon with a smile. “Right, this time I have to trust you. I asked a lot of you when you gave your consciousness data to me. I felt it inside. I even got your cravings.” He chuckled.
“Aww Tai.” Agumon smiled. Matt produced the harmonica from his pocket.
“So, we gotta harmonize huh? What do you guys think? One more song?” He smiled.
“Play us out.” Sora replied, taking Biyomon into her arms tight. T.K and Kari raised their hands and called forth a massive sphere of light around the entire group, including them. As Matt began playing, Tai, Sora, Matt, Izzy, Mimi and Joe took their digimon in close, holding them as their new crests began to resonate. The quiet light seemed to hum along with the song, the wounds on their bodies healing and their digimon growing in strength. Even Veemon and Wormmon found their feet as Patamon and Gatomon held hands, standing before T.K and Kari. Meiko awoke, much to Meicoomon’s delight, watching as Tai and Agumon began to fade away in a vast wave of orange energy. As the song ended, the sphere burst up, firing a massive light into the sky, piercing the thick smoke and ash that had formed from the fires and scattering it to the horizon. Rising through the pillar of light were shimmers of orange, blue, green, pink, purple and grey. However to the digi-destined, all they could see was their own digimon in front of them as they rose to the top of the sky. As the light began to subside, they stood together all six of them having made it to their final forms. Agumon Bond of Bravery along with Gabumon Bond of Friendship had returned joined by all the others, but this time the digi-destined were not perched on their shoulders, but instead joined into the hearts of their digimon.
Biyomon, Bond of Love appeared as a vast phoenix-winged and tailed humanoid, the majority of her body save for her human torso covered in orange feathers tipped with blue flecks at the end. Her eyes, shimmering blue just like Biyomon’s and her feet and hands bared more resemblance to bird like feet and talons than human. Her head had a shape very similar to Biyomon, save for her face where the more human traits prevailed.
Tentomon, Bond of Knowledge wore green eyes, partially veiled by a helmet that resembled the head of Kabuterimon, save for the set of eyes, just off set from his human ones that resembled Tentomon’s. He bore an array of six rounded insectoid wings on his back, along with spined armor that covered his torso and legs. His hands a perfect match to the style of Kabuterimon, while his feet were more pincer like. Hooked stingers seemed to protrude from his shoulders, elbows and knees.
Palmon, Bond of Sincerity was dressed in a near prismatic flower petal like skirt, each petal overlapping the other till reaching their apex on her left thigh. Her boots and arms dressed a great deal like Lillymon’s but much more form fitting, and the flowered cuffs of which shimmered with the same pink and violet hues her skirt seemed to resonate with. Her top a near perfect match to Rosemon, save for matching the color of the rest of her attire. But what stood out most was her verdant hair that spanned nearly the full length of her back, blowing gently in the breeze. She flung from her back a pair of opaque butterfly wings and smiled with her warm face and green eyes.
Gomamon, Bond of Reliability was the largest of the group, hefting a great two handed hammer on his back along with a massive two handed axe. His head bore Gomamons yellow eyes and red hair creeping from a chrome digizoid viking style helmet. Even bearing a fair bit of facial hair, the red beard didn’t span very far, but enough to give distinction to his face. His shoulders clad in fur armor, blended in shades of white and purple, along with hefty iron armor across his chest and solid leg plates bearing the crest of reliability. His feet seemed modified versions of Gomamon’s hands, while his actual hands bore more resemblance to Vikemon.
“Is that!?” Ken shuddered.
“I can’t believe it!” Davis exclaimed.
“Wow!” Meicoomon awed.
“Took the words right outta my mouth.” Veemon agreed. Smiling, Agumon flew down to the ground and stood before them.
“What, gonna let us have all the fun?” Both Tai and Agumon Bond of Bravery spoke together. “This fight isn’t over till it’s over, and we stand the best chance if we fight together as one.”
“Right!” Meiko jumped up.
“I’m so in!” Davis cheered.
“Let’s do this!” Ken joined right in beside him.
“You ready Gatomon?” Kari asked, her form still radiating with light.
“I still got six or seven lives left, yeah!” She answered back.
“Count me in!” Patamon smiled.
“Right. You wanted to see what we’re made of King Drasil!?” Agumon shouted. “Here we come!” leaping into the sky, he was swiftly followed by Imperialdramon, Raseilmon and Aegismon who joined the formation of the new digimon.
“Let it all be laid bare then. Let no doubts linger, let the truth come to pass. I will bring this world into the everlasting darkness!” King Drasil shouted.
“You sure talk a lot! Take a mouthful of this!” Palmon rushed in, releasing a flurry of efflorescent pedals into the air that circled around King Drasil. Coming to a halt, she snapped her fingers and the pedals exploded in a massive cluster. Tentomon began charging a massive amount of electrical energy while Gabumon released his Full-Metal Machinegun attack, sending hundreds of explosive rounds that peppered the avatar. Biyomon gathered in her hands a highly compressed green vortex and launching it forward it fired out a massive fiery tornado that blasted King Drasil back. Not a second after, Tentomon unleashed a massive bolt of lightning that blew one of King Drasil’s cannons clear off his shoulder while Agumon began to channel a torrent of fire into Drasil’s face.
“Knowledge Stream!”
“Positron Laser!” Imperialdramon fired alongside Rasielmon. Their blasts aimed for the second canon and while it did hefty damage to it, it didn’t break off.
“Crusade of the Light-keeper!” Aegismon called out, as Gomamon lunged for King Drasil with both weapons drawn. Roaring, Gomamon charged them both with an immense amount of lightning and leapt into the air. Aegismon and Gomamon struck together as lightning crashed and exploded upon King Drasil, knocking him a good hundred feet back. Gabumon and Agumon flew together, fists primed for King Drasil’s head and slammed it in one ferocious hit, the blow knocking the massive avatar to the ground.
“Now! Fire!” Agumon called out, as Gabumon, Tentomon, Biyomon, Rasielmon and Imperialdramon fired down upon him. The force from their attacks shaking the earth as the digi-destined did their best to subdue the massive avatar. However King Drasil wasn’t about to let the fight go so easily; conjuring a mass of crystals behind the digi-destined as Gabumon, Palmon and Biyomon were forced to change targets. Gabumon shed from his mane the Raddle Stars, homing missile like creations that sought out the crystals and shot them down with a swift laser blast, while Biyomon captured up a mass of them with a fiery tornado. Palmon attempted to perform the same technique she had opened up with on King Drasil but the remaining crystals were primed to fire. Aegismon and Gomamon leapt up, doing their best to shield their friends from the attacks, Gomamon with his weapons and Aegismon with his shield and managed to spare Biyomon and Palmon the brunt of it. Gabumon was able to dodge a few but caught enough blasts to be left disoriented.
“Gabumon!” Biyomon cried out, rushing to his side. “Are you alright?” She asked, clasping his chest. Matt and Gabumon couldn’t help but smile, hearing both of their voices.
“I’m fine, don’t worry.” He answered.
“You guys! Take a look!” Tentomon called out, as King Drasil began to rise up once more, his armor was repairing itself along with the cannons on his shoulder. “He’s healing himself.”
“Oh great, any ideas? I’m all ears.” Gomamon asked.
“Rasielmon, any suggestions?” Agumon rushed to her side.
“Yes, I believe so.” She replied, clasping his right hand. “King Drasil has a stabilizing core buried beneath the thickest part of his armor, just below the head. We must break through and disable the core, for without that, he cannot stabilize the quantum data he used to create this avatar.”
“Right, just one problem.” Gabumon spoke up.
“He’s not gonna just let us keep firing on him in one spot.” Biyomon answered.
“We don’t need to. One good shot should do it.” Rasielmon smiled, gripping Agumon’s hand tighter. It was enough to catch his attention and meet her eye to eye. “You’ve a blessing from a departed friend, do you not?” Agumon’s eyes went wide for a moment, realizing what she had meant. He recalled back to earlier in the night when Dorumon sacrificed himself to Save Tai.

“Get down!!” Tentomon called out. Another flurry of crystals had formed up and as they fired, they managed to get out of the way enough to dodge the bulk of the blasts. Settling up, they retook formation before King Drasil as he towered over them once more, fully repaired and priming his main cannons now. Agumon closed his eyes, and deep within his heart Tai and Agumon were standing side by side, hand in hand as the visage of a dragon digimon passed around them.
“I felt it, when he gave it to me.” Agumon said.
“Hmm?” Tai shifted his head, but both of them kept their eyes closed.
“I almost think it’s a digimon. But, also a weapon. I just know the name, Ouryuken.” Agumon continued to explain.
“His sword.” Tai whispered. Opening his eyes to the digital world Agumon extended out his right arm. A verdant ring appeared, flashing over his hand, as the sword Alphamon once carried digitized from his body. Golden wings flung from Agumon’s back, while the blue marks that covered his body turned scarlet red along with his eyes.
“Alphamon.” King Drasil growled, aiming his cannons at Agumon. Firing a massive crimson blast from both, Aegismon leapt into the path of it, his shield extending out a massive wall of light.
“Final Bastion!” He cried out as the blasts hammered down on him.
“Guys, keep me covered.” Agumon stated, swinging the sword out in front of him and clasping it in both hands. “We get one clean shot. When I crack him open, fire at that core with everything you got!” He shouted, his body beginning to radiate with flames.
“We got this!” Davis clenched his fist, standing beside Ken and Meiko. T.K and Kari watched on, hand in hand as the light still radiated from them both. The cannon blasts subsided and an exhausted Aegismon stood by Agumon to recover from the attack.
“We’ll keep that big oaf distracted, count on us!” Palmon smiled.
“Now we end this!” Gabumon cried out, leading the charge as everyone ran in to steal away King Drasil’s attention. Drasil attempted to fire a new cluster of shots at the digi-destined, but they retaliated, blasting away the crystals as they formed.
“Biyomon! Give me a boost!” Gomamon called out. Swooping down, she captured him in her talons and flung him up onto King Drasil’s shoulder. In one swift maneuver, he cleaved the cannon from King Drasil’s shoulder with his axe. Sheathing the blade, he swung out the mace and hurled it at the other cannon, blowing it clear off his shoulder, the mace flung back around to Gomamon who slipped it back onto his back.
“Great shot!” Palmon complimented, having circled around Drasil she had laid her trap while Gomamon leapt from the avatar and caught Palmon’s hand. Getting him to a safe enough distance she turned around. “Who doesn’t like a little flower shower?” She giggled with a snap of her fingers explosions lashed across King Drasil’s body. Gabumon, Tentomon and Biyomon began to relentlessly fire on King Drasil as Imperialdramon and Rasielmon joined them in the attack. Agumon’s Ouryuken began to ignite, his whole body surging with crimson energy, he offered a quick glance to Aegismon and nodded.
“I’m with you.” He answered, as the two began their final charge for King Drasil. Agumon and Aegismon drew closer and closer, Drasil attempting to cut him off by raising arrays of crystals to shoot him down with. The first array being homed in and blasted by Gabumon’s raddle stars, the second seared by a fiery tornado from Biyomon. A knowledge Stream blowing away the third as Agumon took to the sky high above King Drasil and raised the sword over his head. Crying out at the top of his lungs, Agumon slashed down, a dead center shot at the heart of King Drasil. Aegismon leaping in, he raised his shield to cover himself and Agumon as a horizon igniting explosion followed instantly after. The shockwave from the blast knocked the digi-destined back a fair bit while forcing everyone in the sky and on the ground to shield their eyes. When the blast subsided, King Drasil was left floating in the air, his armor completely sundered and a dark crimson core that radiated with darkness exposed.
“Now!! Give it all you got!” Gabumon shouted, opening up with his Full-Metal Machinegun attack. Biyomon focused her fire tornado on the core while Palmon channeled a torrent of verdant energy on it. Tentomon kept a steady stream of lightning on the core, alongside Gomamon who was doing the same, aiming the bolt with his mace. Imperialdramon kept his laser fire on it as well, while Rasielmon channeled a torrent of Knowledge Streams. The core was heating up rapidly, and though he tried to repair it, the blasts prevented any attempt of closing the wound.
“No.” King Drasil called out. “I cannot, fall. I... Will ... Prevail.” He gasped. “RAAAAHHH!!!” King Drasil bellowed as the core exploded. His avatar form shattering, as massive chunks exploded from his body. The pieces falling to the ground and as his head struck the earth, the data from the avatar erupted in a plume of prismatic light.
“We did it!! Yeah-haha!!!” Davis cheered at the top of his lungs, leaping into the air with joy.
“King Drasil is defeated at last!!” Ken cried out, letting a few happy tears escape. Kari and T.K turned to each other and smiled, holding each other closer.
“Wait a second, where’s Agumon, where’s Tai?” Gabumon asked.
“Huh?” Tentomon perked up, searching the area. “I don’t know, after the blast.”
“No, you don’t think!?” Palmon cried, covering her mouth.
“You didn’t see it.” Rasielmon smiled. “Be at ease my friends, I know where they are.” She said in a soothing tone, leading the group down into a small clearing of sundered trees. Agumon was still in his Bond of Bravery form, and on top of him was Aegismon. “I can’t thank you enough, Aegismon.” She smiled, gently rolling him over.
“Ugh, my ears are still ringing.” He moaned, rubbing his head. Agumon picked himself up and after a fair bit of rubbing his own head; he took special note of Aegismon nearby and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Thanks you guys.” He said in a raspy voice.
“What happened?” Tentomon eagerly asked.
“Everytime Alphamon swung that sword, a mass of explosions always followed.” Aegismon answered. “I knew that this time would be no different.”
“Right when I hit em, Aegismon jumped in and shielded me from the blast. Though I think we flew half a mile in a split second.” Agumon joined in.
“I’m just glad you’re ok.” Rasielmon smiled, helping Agumon to his feet. Gabumon and Biyomon assisted Aegismon up as well. Taking to the skies, they flew over to join Kari, T.K, Meiko, Ken and Davis and immediately upon landing were cheering the arrival of their friends. De-digivolving back into their base forms, the digi-destined gathered up and hugged their partners and each other. Another portal opened up behind them, and with it came Yolei, Hawkmon, Armadillomon, Lopmon, Terriermon and Cody was helping Willis through.
“You guys did it!” Willis stammered, wiping away a tear.
“Humph!” Cody marched over to Izzy and stood in front of him with a scowl.
“Uh! Oh, right. I’m sorry Cody.” Izzy politely bowed. Snickering Cody rushed in and gave him a good hug.
“Don’t apologize, I was hurt and you did what you thought was best. You might have very well saved my life.” He answered. Kari and T.K fell to their knees and were breathing heavily. Turning to Kari in a wake of sweat he smiled.
“See, told ya that beautiful light of your would light the way.”
“Ok Flirtmon. Save it for when I catch my breath so I can reward you properly.” She winked.
“Kari!!” Gatomon rushed in for Kari and held her while Patamon did the same for T.K.
“You guys were amazing!” Patamon cheered.
“Ah, I could use a good long cat-nap.”
“We all deserve some R&R.” Tai agreed, looking down at Agumon’s hand he noticed the mark was gone. “No more tatoo for you huh buddy?”
“Nope, I guess it really was just temporary.” Agumon smiled. “But it sure did help. Thanks Dorumon.”
“We made it worth it.” Tai chuckled turning to Matt.
“We did.” Matt nodded, raising his hand to high-five Tai. Slapping it right away the two carried on laughing, holding tight to their digimon as Gennai appeared before them with a darkened sphere in his hand.
“Well, good to see you’re all in one piece.” He greeted.
“Master Gennai.” Everyone answered, though some voices were a bit more soft than others.
“When the avatar went down, King Drasil’s defenses dropped and I was able to capture his essence with this. I’ll bring it to the Kernel myself, but I have a hunch I know what’s going to happen to it.” Gennai carried on explaining.
“Please tell me it’s going down a garbage disposal.” Davis spoke up.
“Haha, no Davis, sadly not the case. The Kernel was correct in saying that King Drasil served an essential part of the digital world. I just hope that if I’m chosen to bear the weight of it that I’m up to the task. But that’s not a worry for you.” Gennai stashed the sphere away and set himself down on his knees. “The only thing I can say to you, is please accept my eternal gratitude for once again saving the digital and real worlds. What you’ve been able to accomplish with and without your digimon is beyond the scope that even Homeostasis could have imagined. For that, I’m happy to say that your partnerships will carry on for your full life times and that your deeds will be etched into the history of the digital world, forever. On behalf of all those you have saved through the years, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.” Everyone smiled and gave their partners a quick hug before Tai spoke up.
“I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat, just to be with all of you guys.”
“I’d do it again for some food!” Agumon jumped in.
“We’d never turn our backs on our friends.” Matt smiled.
“Or our family, cause that’s what we are.” Gabumon added in.
“We love each other, even if we butt heads now and then.” Sora chuckled.
“And we always will!” Biyomon joined in.
“I’ll never forget all the amazing things I’ve learned about the digital world over the years, it’s been a true joy to gain such knowledge.” Izzy stated.
“Even if you do use fourteen words where three would do.” Tentomon joked.
“I remember being so scared of this place. Now I can’t imagine life without it.” Mimi smiled, holding Palmon in front of her.
“We won’t have to, cause we’ll always be together and we can always come back.”
“I kept thinking of being digi-destined as a burden. But being with Gomamon and you guys really put things in perspective. I’ll treasure that forever.” Joe said, adjusting his glasses.
“I’ll always be here to keep ya on track, Joe!” Gomamon praised. T.K gave a quick chuckle before saying.
“Even when things were at their worst, I held fast to the hope that we’d all pull through. Maybe that’s why I always feel best when we’re all together too, like you Matt.”
“It’s your hope that gives us all strength, you have a strong heart T.K, I’ve always believed in you.” Patamon smiled.
“How bout that Kari.” Gatomon smiled. “I’ll never leave ya now, you’re stuck with me for life.”
“Then let’s make it nine long healthy ones.” Kari giggled, kissing Gatomon’s head.
“I love all you guys, but the adventure’s not over. We got our whole lives ahead of us and I promise not to waste a second of it. There’s still so much we haven’t seen or done yet!” Davis cheered.
“Yeah Davis, you got the right idea! We’ll see it through together now that we’re together for life. I promise to always stand by you and all my friends, no matter how tough it gets!” Veemon joined in.
“Agreed, we’ll stick together. We’ve proven today what we can accomplish is beyond imagination.” Ken paused and gazed up at the night receding night sky. “I hope you’re proud of me Sam.” Ken smiled.
“Your brother loved you Ken, just like I do.” Wormmon nuzzled him. “I’ll stick by you through everything.” Yolei took Ken’s arm and leaned on his shoulder.
“We’ll always stay true to each other. I think that’s our greatest strength.”
“One of many, and now we must look to the future together. Let’s hope it’s a peaceful one.” Hawkmon smiled.
“Maybe that’s what we should do next. No more fighting, just helping the digi-world rebuild. Something constructive instead of destructive.” Cody thought aloud.
“I’m on board for that.” Armadillomon raised his paw.
“I should get back to the states but, I hope you all won’t mind if I make a habit of visiting you? We’ve been through so much already, I don’t want to miss being a part of this family.” Willis requested.
“Please!” Both Lopmon and Terriermon begged.
“I’d take it personal if you didn’t visit, Willis. You’re one of us for life, we got your back.” Tai strolled over, placing a hand on his shoulder.
“Hmmm.” Meiko moaned, watching the sun rise with Meicoomon in her arms. “You all have such sweet things to say but. It’s funny. The only thing that comes to mind for me. After everything we’ve been through together. How we’ve helped each other, been there for each other. Well.” She giggled as Meicoomon smiled up to her. Turning around they both bowed and spoke together. “Dandan.”
“Oh Mei-mei!” Mimi dove in, giving her a good long hug. “You’re too adorable!” Tai walked over and Mimi released Meiko to his arms and threw up her brow. “Better treat her right, fearless leader.” She playfully warned.
“Always listen to Mimi.” He laughed briefly. The sun began sweeping across the fallen trees, the smoke and haze steadily clearing while the digi-destined all turned to watch it creep over the horizon. Kari and T.K brought their brothers and girlfriends close together to stand as one big group while Izzy and Mimi took to a spot beside Ken and Yolei. Cody pat Willis’s back while Joe and Davis walked over to join him. Everyone watched on in silence, embracing each other’s company until the sun finally ascended fully and the day began. Agumon was the first to break the silence.
“It’s breakfast time, right?”
“Aww.” Everyone collectively awed.
“Yeah, I could eat.” Veemon agreed.
“So could I.” Gabumon approved.
“French toast please!” Hawkmon spoke up.
“I bet Izzy’s got some bacon and eggs back at his place!” Gomamon proclaimed.
“I’ll help cook!” Biyomon offered.
“Me too!” Palmon joined in.
“Well, it’s settled then.” Tai laughed, rubbing the back of his head. “Gennai, you got it from here?”
“Certainly Tai. We’ll be in touch, Digi-emissary.” He winked with a thumbs up. Taking to the front of the group, he turned back at everyone with a smile.
“Well come on guys, breakfast’s not gonna make itself!”
