", "writing": "\"A Girl's Frustrations\"\n\nThe early parts of the week for Charlie and Melanie went by rather smoothly for the kits. They had lots of time to bond and to be innocent little kits, they did lots of artwork together (though anything Charlie did was amateurish compared to Melanie's work) and made lots of yummy food. However, late Tuesday evening Melanie was starting to feel a little agitated and very moody. She started to get snappy when Charlie or their dad were trying to talk with her or work around the house. Melanie felt annoyed enough that she temporarily lost interest in doing many of the things she usually did. Both the Silverleaf dog foxes were puzzled to her sudden change as she insisted on doing everything on her own and even ignored Charlie's offer to help out with cleaning her room. On the way to bed as Charlie was about to tell Melanie goodnight, he heard her door slam shut on him. What had gotten into his sister to be that cold to him? It seemed like a complete one-eighty from pretty much the day she was born. Even with the cold response, Charlie decided to be diplomatic and kindly offer Melanie a nice good night.\n\n\"Sleep well, Mel,\" Charlie cooed softly as he gently closed his door.\n\n\"Go away, Charlie!\" Melanie snapped at her brother as she growled at him. Her response was so terse that Charlie actually whimpered as he climbed into bed and actually pulled his plush out to hug it tight. He didn't do anything wrong; it was about five years since they had anything that resembled a fight. Melanie just scared him and he found he couldn't even get to sleep for an hour as he heard her thump around her room, growling a bit. He even heard his dad come over and kindly tell her to get to bed, but got the exact same response Charlie did. The kit just had to accept that Melanie would have to get to bed on her own and nothing he could do would help out. However, the next morning, he didn't see Melanie await for him as he woke up to the clock. He carefully changed himself and took his pajamas off and waited out in the playroom for Melanie. About ten minutes later he still didn't get answer so he gently knocked the door.\n\n\"Mel, it's time to get up!\" Charlie barked politely through the door. He only heard another mean growl and then probably the meanest thing he ever heard from his sister.\n\n\"Go away, pervert!\" Melanie barked angrily, \"Do your chores!\" Charlie again was shaking in his paws. Something was really getting to her and it bothered her deeply. Seeing that Melanie was too angry to listen to him, Charlie sighed and shrugged as he pulled on a yellow tee shirt and started to take care of the kitchen. He just didn't know why Melanie was all of a sudden so angry and distant and he knew that he'd never get any rest until he at least understood what was going on. As he finally got the tables and sink clean, he saw Melanie in her two-piece pajama set toddling on up to get some milk and some of the pastries they had for breakfast. Charlie didn't bother with talking with her since she was just going to growl and bite back at him. This time, Melanie just growled angrily at Charlie and glared at him as she plopped down on the couch, whimpering as she sat down. A clue perhaps to what was going on with Melanie. He figured he would go about his duties and studies while leaving Melanie alone. If she napped, Charlie was going to take a look at what was making her tick at that moment and get ticked-off by her brother. Another clue popped into the kit's mind as he was munching on his cereal; if Melanie was starting engage in mating rituals...maybe what she's feeling was related to it. As he finished eating his cereal and cleaned up after himself, he went to check on Melanie who was getting pretty frustrated channel surfing in the living room. Charlie had to try one more time to see if Melanie would at least talk to him a little more politely.\n\n\"Mel, I will leave you alone,\" Charlie quietly spoke, \"But please don't forget what dad asked us to do.\"\n\n\"Go away,\" Melanie whined angrily, \"I-I'll get to it when I'm feeling better!\" Charlie sighed in defeat as Melanie was still feeling very agitated. At the very least, it wasn't a growling noise that he heard from her but he knew that Melanie wasn't going to be of much help today so Charlie decided to get as much done as he could. He came back about a few hours later to check on her and found that she was out cold. All that late night frustration tired Melanie out and he knew that it'd be better to leave a sleeping vixen lie. So Charlie took care to clean up the living room and turn the television off. Although it was just Wednesday, he figured it'd be a good time to take care of the trash in the house to he started by loading up the dumpster with all the trash in the house. However, he was still scared that if he empited the diaper pails Melanie might go ballistic. Playing it smart, Charlie went to check in Melanie again in the living room. She was still mumbling angrily, mostly in incoherent babble. \n\n\"Whew!\" Charlie thought to himself as he went to go empty out the diaper pails, starting with his. Simple enough, no big deal; however as Charlie entered Melanie's room to empty hers out, he found a very peculiar smell. It wasn't the smells Melanie made when she was passionate, it had the uncomfortable tang of iron; blood. He nervously checked out her diaper pail as he emptied it out and there it was. Upon seeing what he found, a big clue clicked in his mind as he carefully tied up the bag and added air freshener in her room as he headed on out and finally loaded up the dumpster. With the trash taken care of and pretty much everything but his science exploration, he decided to take a tangent on his science studies and looked up information related to Melanie's sudden changes. He felt a little weird trying to look up stuff on girl problems, but he cared about Melanie and if he could find that little bit of information, he could get the help he needed. But then, another idea popped in his mind that would be a far better answer. If this is a girl's problem, perhaps a girl would be a better resource and for Charlie, he knew a 16 year old wolf who could help him out. He quickly picked up the phone and decided to dial up Julianne. He was hoping she'd pick up quickly and when the other end clicked, he found that Erica had actually answered the phone.\n\n\"Hello? This is the Timberwood residence,\" Erica answered calmly.\n\n\"Ms. Timberwood?\" Charlie asked softly, \"This is Charlie Silverleaf; is Juile around? I need some help with something and I think she's the one I need to ask.\" Before Erica could answer, he could hear another click, then the warm voice of a nerdy wolfess pick up.\n\n\"Oh hello, Charlie,\" Juile answered sweetly, \"What's going on?\"\n\n\"Well...I gotta girl question and I need a grown-up to help me answer that,\" Charlie blushed, \"Any wee cubs around on your end?\"\n\n\"Nope, not today,\" Julie answered, nodding on her end.\n\n\"Okay,\" Charlie sighed in relief, \"Well, my sister has been very grouchy and mean. It was all of a sudden and very intense. I heard her say things I've never heard her say before. Even called me a pervert.\"\n\n\"Sounds like some major mood swings there,\" Julie barked in response, \"Other observations from my smart kit?\"\n\n\"Well...I decided to take care of the trash early and emptied the pails and,\" Charlie answered shyly, \"It looked like she bled into her diaper a little bit. Last two changes.\"\n\n\"She's almost 12, right?\" Julie nodded observantly, \"Any pain.\"\n\n\"When she sits down,\" Charlie nodded, \"And she didn't sleep very well.\"\n\n\"Oh,\" Erica interjected, \"I think your sister is having her first period...and she might not be used to her normal cycle.\" Charlie blushed hard. He should have seen it sooner considering all he observed and all that he's seen happened. Then again, outside scientific knowledge for the most part, girl things weren't his business to poke into. Since he asked a girl for help to understand what was going on, perhaps they'd be a better teacher than Ms. Silverpine too.\n\n\"Well, can Julie come over and help her, then?\" Charlie asked politely, \"I've been taking care of chores so Miss Julie can help her out.\"\n\n\"Aww, sure thing Charlie,\" Erica smiled and barked happily, \"It's a good thing you asked for our help. I'm pretty sure that two dog foxes would make things more awkward for her if you two tried to explain that.\"\n\n\"Yeah, I thought about that,\" Charlie blushed furiously, \"I'll be in the playroom doing homework and the door is unlocked...I know, not smart but a grumpy sister would be a good guard dog.\" The two wolves chuckled a bit and shook their heads.\n\n\"Alright Charlie, I'll be over in a few minutes,\" Julie replied as she hanged the phone up. Charlie decided it would only be polite to wait by the door for Julie as he watched over his sleeping and squirming sister. True to her word, Julie did arrive about 10 minutes later and found a relieved kit to hug her tight.\n\n\"Thankie for coming Miss Julie,\" Charlie sighed in relief, \"I think Melanie might not what's going on...and please be gently with her as she's been very angry.\" Julie smiled and kissed Charlie's nose and ruffled his head.\n\n\"I'll be alright, Charlie,\" Julie smiled, \"Go ahead and do your science studies; I'll talk with Melanie and make lunch for you in a while.\" Charlie nodded and toddled back to the playroom. While he would have liked to help Melanie through her problems, after learning from Julie and Erica what was going on he was relieved that he didn't have to explain that to Melanie. However, before he sat down to take care of his studies, Charlie wanted to make an apology for Melanie; even if it wasn't his fault he wanted to know that he cared about her. After a few moments of thought, he went ahead and typed up his thoughts and printed them out:\n\n\"Mel,\n\nI know you've been upset and angry at me and daddy last night and today. I want you to know, it not your fault or anyone else's. You're just going through something that's a normal part of a girl's life. I'm sorry that I couldn't explain this to you in person but...sometimes a girls need to tell a girl things. I hope you don't go too rough with Miss Julie as she helps you understand what you're going through.\n\nEven with all this going on, I still care about you Mel. I know you don't mean what you've said so I'll take the bites and stinging words; you're frustrated because you didn't yet know what was happening. I can promise you this though, during this part of your month, I will give you space for your necessities. If you really want me to help, just ask; you might have a shy brother but that's okay. I can, however, give you all the emotional support you want. If you need a hug, just hug me tight. If you need a bedtime story, I'll get that book.\n\nIf you want to tell me anything, I'm just next door.\n\nHugs and Kisses,\n\nKit\"\n\nCharlie was happy with how the letter turned out. He gently folded up the printed letter and carefully laid it on the her changing table. Afterwards, Charlie just hopped on the computer and started to work on his summer time studies and complete what he wanted to work on.\n\nMeanwhile, Helena was moving her mate's stuff out of her house for the movers. The kittens were all over at her house that day so she had plenty of help. She still couldn't believe the lawyer got the order for her mate to leave the house for good that quickly. In fact her mate wasn't bothered by it all it seemed. While she was loading up all the personal effects, she was getting a very bittersweet feeling inside of her. He was supposed to be her best friend, her constant companion but Helena ended being betrayed and hurt by him. She knew why all too well; he was deployed for a few years overseas while Maya was a little kitten. When he came back, he was not the same again; he was in a combat zone and had developed PTSD while overseas. Helena tried her best to talk with him about it and for a while it seemed to work. But then, her mate received news that his best friend was killed in action. An improvised explosive was claimed as the cause of death just as her mate's friend was on his way home. From there, it started to go out of control for him. \n\nHelena tried to keep strong for Maya and take her mate's anger and physical abuse as best as she could. She tried to get him help again but he outright refused to get help. Helena started to cry as she removed the last memories of him from her home. Of all the Burundi children, both her and Sampson had the most stable relationships and the fact that her mate fell apart after his war experiences just tore her apart. As the kittens combed through the house for things she identified belonged to him, she wanted so much to find one happy memory to keep of her mate. While he was leaving her life, Helena couldn't cover up the fact that before war changed him, she had many happy memories of him.\n\nHelena looked around her room frantically one last time for anything of him that'd be worth keeping. While looking under her bed, of all places, she found an envelope she never found before. She carefully pulled it out and opened it up and when she pulled it out, she bound the most beautiful picture of her holding the newborn Maya. On the corner of the picture, her mate had written that no matter what, this would be the happiest moment of his life. Helena cried sadly. The fact that he had Maya with her made him happier than anything else in his life was the most beautiful thing he ever written...but of course with all he had suffered, and because of that Helena and Maya, it was also bittersweet as he was hurting the things that made him the happiest in life. Even still...the picture of her and baby Maya was worth keeping, leaving it in the envelope for now so she could get the picture framed and proudly displayed in the house. Just as she did, the three kittens popped in and cheered.\n\n\"Auntie,\" Kyle and Jessie cheered, \"We helped the movers with everything!\" Helena had a sad smile as her niece and nephew told her the news, hugging all three kittens right there.\n\n\"Thank you sweeties\" Helena mewed softly, \"You're such good helpers.\" Helena quietly cried as she held them tight. Her kitten and her niece and nephew were the most precious things to her and now, it was her job to protect them and cherish the three kittens.\n\n\"Momma, you're crying,\" Maya looked up and nuzzled her cheek, \"What's wrong?\"\n\n\"Maya dear,\" Helena sniffled, \"While daddy had hurt us, I still have good memories of him...before he was eaten up by war. I didn't want to leave him...but he has a wound so deep he needs to realize he needs help.\" The three kittens nodded softly.\n\n\"Auntie, don't forget our dad is always here for you,\" Kyle and Jessie nodded in agreement, \"Daddy cares for you.\"\n\n\"I know, you two,\" Helena kissed Kyle and Jessie softly, \"Your aunt is just frustrated that things had to end like this. At least now, I can find myself again.\" The three kittens mewed as they hugged Helena again, then went downstairs to make some lunch. Helena needed her time to let go just a little bit before she continued on with her day. Her thoughts stated to see the last images of her mate she had - just of the good days. Helena only wanted to remember him as he was before he left for war; she curled up tight and started to bawl sadly. Even with the removal of all his effects, she still couldn't believe what happened in a span of a few days; he cheated on her and had beat her up a bit, she filed for separation and divorce and now, was moving him out and hoping he would get some help. She hated having to sever the man she had love from her life but for her and her kitten's sake she had no choice. Enough was enough for her and so, she had to do this. Helena cried for a good hour before she came downstairs. The kittens left a note that her sandwiches were waiting for her in the refrigerator. She pulled her lunch out and went to find the three kittens in Maya's room playing with her plushies. Content to just watch the kittens play, Helena quietly ate her food as she leaned on the door. As she ate, thoughts of her brother Sampson started to come into her head. He was as frustrated as she was right now...he was starting to face very sad memories from his past and he needed support, too. She did promise Sampson that she would come and visit him every night that week. Maybe she could invite him over to her house too. She just needed the only family member she trusted, Helena wanted Sampson to keep her company. She only hoped that Rosalyn wouldn't get jealous of all the attention he would give her in mutually supporting each other. Helena just felt so little in the world right now as she was certain Sampson was. Perhaps that was the reason she clung to Sampson so tight. Was that wrong? She didn't think so, Sampson was just being a good brother and that was what she needed right now.\n\nAs she kept thinking, Maya was playfully tugging at her mom and looking up at her with a soft mew. Helena was a little out of it but when Maya started to pester her, she managed to snap out of it.\n\n\"Momma,\" Maya mewed softly, \"Are you okay?\"\n\n\"I-I am,\" Helena nodded softly, \"How are you three doing?\"\n\n\"We're good,\" Maya giggled softly, \"Kyle was giving Jessie lots of hugs and kisses a little bit ago. It was pretty cute too though I think they might be liking it a little too much.\" Helena blushed a bit as she saw how clinging and close Kyle was getting to Jessie. It was unusual to be certain, but her mind wasn't fully on parenting mode at that point so she paid no mind.\n\n\"Just as long as they don't get too friendly, now,\" Helena nodded, \"Mind if I join you and your plushies?\" Maya purred and smiled and tugged her mom on in and handed her a big lion plush to cuddle with. Kyle and Jessie mewed softly as they saw Helena join them for their play time. Perhaps like the kittens, letting her mind go into a more innocent state of mine would help her for a while till she could talk with Sampson. So she idly started to play with the big guy of the pride as the kittens played with their feline plush.\n\nKendrick actually came home about his usual time today and as he came in, he was surprise to see Julie giving Melanie a serious talk and helping her with whatever questions she had.\n\n\"Oh, didn't expect to see you here today, Julie,\" Kendrick blushed softly, \"What's the honor today?\"\n\n\"Well, Charlie made the call, Mr. Silverleaf,\" Julie nodded, \"He said you and him noticed that Melanie was rather moody and very different and after thinking about it, Charlie decided it'd be better for a girl to help with girl problems.\" Kendrick blushed a bit as Julie talked to him about their day.\n\n\"I, uh...should have seen this coming,\" Kendrick blushed furiously, \"B-but I think Charlie made the right call.\"\n\n\"If you're wondering about him, he's been filling in for his sister today on chores,\" Julie smiled, \"Even did the trash and all the floors today.\"\n\n\"I'll be sure to let him know he did a good job,\" Kendrick smiled, \"Where is he right now?\"\n\n\"In the kitchen working on some stir-fry. Helped him boil the rice while Melanie was taking care of herself,\" Julie smiled, \"But I think she's going to be alright. She just needed some understanding on what's going on and some good tips to help her through it.\" Julie leaned up to him and blushed, \"Though in a way I kinda envy her...a diaper is more convenient for such girl issues.\" Kendrick groaned and blushed furiously as he flicked Juile's ear.\n\n\"Okay, okay, that's a little too much there Miss,\" Kendrick chuckled as he went over to the kitchen. Charlie was in a pair of blue shorts in addition to the tee earlier, working on the vegetables and rice while the meat was being cooked. He was concentrating on not burning the rice in the wok as he fidgeted a bit on the step stool.\n\n\"Hiya daddy, how was work?\" Charlie smiled as he took the heat off the meat.\n\n\"Work was pretty good today,\" he smiled, \"Heard you were a good boy today and even did your sister's chores.\"\n\n\"She wasn't feeling well daddy,\" Charlie nodded as he started to plate the rice for supper. \"Dinner is almost ready so please wash up.\" Kendrick smiled and nodded as Julie came over and started to get the chopsticks and forks out and got the cups out, too. Once the stir-fry and teriyaki beef was ready, Charlie carried out five plates over to the table.\n\n\"Five plates?\" Julie asked in surprise.\n\n\"I called your mom,\" Charlie smirked, \"Thought she'd like to share a meal.\" Julie blushed softly, then smiled.\n\n\"Okay, that is pretty nice of you,\" Julie smiled and kissed his cheek, \"You are such a sweetie.\" Charlie cutely blushed as Erica came into the house, greeted by a drained Melanie (as the whole conversation and the preceding rant really sapped Melanie's energy). Erica gently guided Melanie to the table, smiling gently at Charlie and her girl as Kendrick came back up and blushed as he saw Erica.\n\n\"Evening, Kenny,\" Erica barked happily, \"Charlie invited me over since he had to get Julie's help today.\"\n\n\"I heard,\" Kendrick as he took his place on the table, \"Though I think someone had also set this up as a dinner date, too.\" Charlie blushed and stuck his tongue out at Kendrick as he sat down. To be honest though, Charlie just wanted to set up the dinner to thank Julie and Erica for their help. The whole dinner date deal was just a coincidence and not intended by the kit who invited Erica over. Even still the two families enjoyed their dinner together and yes, Kendrick and Erica did get their fair share of dinner date activities with their meal too with lots of idle giggles from Charlie and Julie and a couple from a tired out Melanie. After dinner, Julie and Erica did have to return home as they had a few cubs to watch the next day. Charlie giggled and nodded in approval when his dad actually took the initiative to give Erica a nice smooch while Erica gave Melanie a comforting hug. Charlie was busy cleaning up the table just as he heard all the goodbyes.\n\n\"Charlie, I'm grateful you called me over today,\" Julie smiled as she kissed Charlie right on the nose, \"Melanie was a little grumpy at you for calling me over, but when I told her you were looking out for her, I think she understood.\" Charlie blushed and nodded as he hugged Julie. Erica also gave a hug and smiled, ruffling his always-messy hair. It was clear Erica really liked Charlie and liked that Julie was such a good friend to him. It was good that he had an older role model to lean on for those important questions and with that Erica felt that Charlie was in good paws.\n\n\"See you later, Julie, Miss Erica,\" Charlie smiled and barked as his dad hugged him from behind. The two wolves headed on out for the evening. Though Charlie was so tired from picking up the slack on the chores so he quickly toddled off to take his bath and get ready for an early night. After Charlie had bathed himself, he came by Melanie who was being very quiet and a little shy around Charlie; she was rather rough to him and his dad so that was kind of expected. Once she bathed, she just went straight to her bedroom and started to dress up for bed. Before she changed herself though, she found Charlie's letter he had written for her. As soon as she read it she cried. Julie was right; Charlie was looking after her as he expressed his concerns over her moods and what she was going through. He even kindly offered free hugs and extra support for her and privacy if she needed it. That was when Melanie started to think about all the thought Charlie had put in writing that letter. She sniffed happily as she realized Charlie was being considerate of her. He was never as artistic as Melanie but as she mentioned to him before, he always put lots of thought into his actions. She loved that about Charlie. Melanie started to think a little bit though, he did offer to respect her privacy but as open as they've been about each other, she wondered if he could still end a hand. She may have been angry all morning, Charlie still trusted her and accepted her for her own foibles. She may have been bossy and her own monthly cycle made her as mean as her mom at that point...but Charlie was patient with her and gave her the space. Melanie trembled as she put her nightgown on, her heart was pounding. Melanie needed to go and see Charlie and just hug the stuffing out of him. Just before Charlie could close the door, Melanie tugged the door wide open; her arms swung wide and she gave Charlie the tightest squeeze he should give him.\n\n\"Kit!\" Melanie cried happily, \"I'm sorry for those mean words. But I'm so glad you took it in stride.\" Charlie blushed as he looked at his sister.\n\n\"It's okay, Mel,\" Charlie cooed softly, \"Don't need to tell me anything, sis.\" Melanie nuzzled Charlie cheek and licked him.\n\n\"Gosh, I can't believe how much you care about me though,\" Melanie cooed and snuggled to him, \"And...I don't mind if you want to still give me a paw though. Treat it like a messy pair of diapers?\"\n\n\"Sure, Mel,\" Charlie nuzzled her warmly, \"It's only a couple of days so it's not a big deal. But if you do have a request, just ask.\" Melanie nodded and giggled a bit.\n\n\"Thank you, Kit,\" Melanie cooed, \"Is dad leaving early again tomorrow?\"\n\n\"He is,\" Charlie nodded, \"Here, come to bed, Mel.\" Charlie made sure Melanie's door was close, then gently closed the door behind them as Melanie gently nestled herself to Charlie, just wanting to feel safe in his arms. Charlie was special, he was so mature and even-tempered for a kit his age and going through her changes didn't bother him too much. Charlie was her Kit, and she wanted him to keep her company that night.\n\nAfter Maya and Helena left their home Jessie and Kyle were getting cleaned up for bedtime. Kyle had already taken his bath first so Jessie was sitting in the tub and getting herself cleaned up. As she reached for a rubber bath toy and rubbed it in her paws, she was starting to think about Kyle. She felt her affections grow for him in the last several days and it seemed like the feelings were mutual. But she was wanting things to go a bit faster. She wanted Kyle to please her and deeply kiss her; she wanted Kyle to play with her during their changes. Her thoughts became naughty as she thought about the other day where they saw their mom and dad together in that odd ritual. Jessie just wanted Kyle, nothing else...and in her frustration, she thought about using the toy to please herself but no...it wasn't the same for her so she just put it away. It still bothered her deeply that she wanted Kyle to be closer and closer to her so they could be naughty kittens. Jessie just shook her head as she got herself cleaned up and after finishing, climbed out of the tub and dried herself up. \n\nOnce she was diapered up and in her sleeper, she thought about just climbing into her bed but she was really wanting Kyle. Even if she was caught, she just wanted to sleep with him and keep him tightly pressed up to her. So she quietly entered his room and closed the door, then without him noticing at all, she slowly wiggled into sheets and spooned up next to her. Kyle didn't budge quite yet; that was until Jessie wrapped her paws around and nibbled on his cheek.\n\n\"Jessie!\" Kyle quietly yelped, \"Why aren't you in your bed for?\"\n\n\"Brother, I need you!\" Jessie quietly cried, \"It's makin' me crazy. Even if I get caught, I wanna be right here with you, please?\" Kyle didn't quite feel comfortable with his sister sleeping with him like that yet. A part of him thought she was going too fast and wanted her to wait. Yet there was another part of Kyle that just wanted her right there, but with him spooned around her. He was still trying to decide what Jessie meant to him. She was more that just a sibling but he just didn't know how much more. Jessie just didn't care though as she pressed up to him and nuzzled and wiggles into him. Kyle resisted purring, but as she licked his cheek and wiggled her tail to his, he couldn't help it as he purred happily. Kyle was fighting his instinct to be more forward with Jessie and that was frustrating to Jessie as she was ready for it already.\n\n\"Jessie, I love you,\" Kyle whispered softly, just blurting out what he was thinking, \"I do want you...I'm just so nervous.\"\n\n\"Brother...I love you too,\" Jessie mewed quietly, \"You shoulda told me you had cold paws though.\" Jessie softly blushed as the two started to doze off together, just thinking about each other as they nestled together.\n\nThe next morning, Charlie was relieved that Melanie did sleep much better and gently held his paw. She cooed softly as her eyes opened and saw that Charlie was still there holding her warmly. She was still a little moody but she did her best to temper it; it was something she had to live with, after all. It was no use to take it out on her dad or Charlie so she just did her best to let things flow. Her paws intertwined with Charlie's as she pulled herself up and licked his cheek.\n\n\"Morning, Kit,\" Melanie cooed softly as she nuzzled her brother.\n\n\"Morning, Mel,\" Charlie smiled as he kissed her paw, \"Sleep well?\"\n\n\"I did, thanks Kit,\" Melanie helped herself up and hugged Charlie, \"Want to give me a paw this morning?\"\n\n\"S-sure thing,\" Charlie nodded shyly as Melanie crawled over to the changing table, waiting for him to help her. Melanie was growing up just like Charlie and she had her own challenges; yesterday was one of those first experiences where she didn't know what was up or down. It was a very confusion experience for her and she didn't know how to react. Thankfully she had a best friend in the world who knew exactly who to reach out her frustrations and for that, Melanie was grateful for the help. After they gave each other a paw that morning, Melanie just gave Charlie a big hug and kissed his cheek.\n\nMeanwhile at Kyle and Jessie's place...the two kittens had a big surprise waiting for them that morning. And with that surprise, a kitten's frustrations had to be confronted. That very morning was the door to temptation for Kyle and Jessie to dive deeper than they already have.\n\nFor Kyle and Jessie, they usually had at least their mom around when they woke up. However on this day, they were actually home alone. Kyle and Jessie had only themselves...and Jessie wanted to play. Once the two cleaned up each other and were freshly diapered and dressed, Jessie purred in need as she laid on his bed waiting for him to come on over. Kyle was still hesitant to come over, but his sister's eyes were so enticing and her enchanting purr just pulled him right on over. He couldn't help it right now, Kyle wanted to play with her. Like Jessie, he was frustrated that he was holding himself back. The early parts of the week for Charlie and Melanie went by rather smoothly for the kits.  They had lots of time to bond and to be innocent little kits, they did lots of artwork together (though anything Charlie did was amateurish compared to Melanie's work) and made lots of yummy food.  However, late Tuesday evening Melanie was starting to feel a little agitated and very moody.  She started to get snappy when Charlie or their dad were trying to talk with her or work around the house.  Melanie felt annoyed enough that she temporarily lost interest in doing many of the things she usually did.  Both the Silverleaf dog foxes were puzzled to her sudden change as she insisted on doing everything on her own and even ignored Charlie's offer to help out with cleaning her room.  On the way to bed as Charlie was about to tell Melanie goodnight, he heard her door slam shut on him.  What had gotten into his sister to be that cold to him?  It seemed like a complete one-eighty from pretty much the day she was born.  Even with the cold response, Charlie decided to be diplomatic and kindly offer Melanie a nice good night.

"Sleep well, Mel," Charlie cooed softly as he gently closed his door.

"Go away, Charlie!" Melanie snapped at her brother as she growled at him.  Her response was so terse that Charlie actually whimpered as he climbed into bed and actually pulled his plush out to hug it tight.  He didn't do anything wrong; it was about five years since they had anything that resembled a fight.  Melanie just scared him and he found he couldn't even get to sleep for an hour as he heard her thump around her room, growling a bit.  He even heard his dad come over and kindly tell her to get to bed, but got the exact same response Charlie did.  The kit just had to accept that Melanie would have to get to bed on her own and nothing he could do would help out.  However, the next morning, he didn't see Melanie await for him as he woke up to the clock.  He carefully changed himself and took his pajamas off and waited out in the playroom for Melanie.  About ten minutes later he still didn't get answer so he gently knocked the door.

"Mel, it's time to get up!" Charlie barked politely through the door.  He only heard another mean growl and then probably the meanest thing he ever heard from his sister.

"Go away, pervert!" Melanie barked angrily, "Do your chores!"  Charlie again was shaking in his paws.  Something was really getting to her and it bothered her deeply.  Seeing that Melanie was too angry to listen to him, Charlie sighed and shrugged as he pulled on a yellow tee shirt and started to take care of the kitchen.  He just didn't know why Melanie was all of a sudden so angry and distant and he knew that he'd never get any rest until he at least understood what was going on.  As he finally got the tables and sink clean, he saw Melanie in her two-piece pajama set toddling on up to get some milk and some of the pastries they had for breakfast.  Charlie didn't bother with talking with her since she was just going to growl and bite back at him.  This time, Melanie just growled angrily at Charlie and glared at him as she plopped down on the couch, whimpering as she sat down.  A clue perhaps to what was going on with Melanie.  He figured he would go about his duties and studies while leaving Melanie alone.  If she napped, Charlie was going to take a look at what was making her tick at that moment and get ticked-off by her brother.  Another clue popped into the kit's mind as he was munching on his cereal; if Melanie was starting engage in mating rituals...maybe what she's feeling was related to it.  As he finished eating his cereal and cleaned up after himself, he went to check on Melanie who was getting pretty frustrated channel surfing in the living room.  Charlie had to try one more time to see if Melanie would at least talk to him a little more politely.

"Mel, I will leave you alone," Charlie quietly spoke, "But please don't forget what dad asked us to do."

"Go away," Melanie whined angrily, "I-I'll get to it when I'm feeling better!"  Charlie sighed in defeat as Melanie was still feeling very agitated.  At the very least, it wasn't a growling noise that he heard from her but he knew that Melanie wasn't going to be of much help today so Charlie decided to get as much done as he could.  He came back about a few hours later to check on her and found that she was out cold.  All that late night frustration tired Melanie out and he knew that it'd be better to leave a sleeping vixen lie.  So Charlie took care to clean up the living room and turn the television off.  Although it was just Wednesday, he figured it'd be a good time to take care of the trash in the house to he started by loading up the dumpster with all the trash in the house.  However, he was still scared that if he empited the diaper pails Melanie might go ballistic.  Playing it smart, Charlie went to check in Melanie again in the living room.  She was still mumbling angrily, mostly in incoherent babble.  

"Whew!" Charlie thought to himself as he went to go empty out the diaper pails, starting with his.  Simple enough, no big deal; however as Charlie entered Melanie's room to empty hers out, he found a very peculiar smell.  It wasn't the smells Melanie made when she was passionate, it had the uncomfortable tang of iron; blood.  He nervously checked out her diaper pail as he emptied it out and there it was.  Upon seeing what he found, a big clue clicked in his mind as he carefully tied up the bag and added air freshener in her room as he headed on out and finally loaded up the dumpster.  With the trash taken care of and pretty much everything but his science exploration, he decided to take a tangent on his science studies and looked up information related to Melanie's sudden changes.  He felt a little weird trying to look up stuff on girl problems, but he cared about Melanie and if he could find that little bit of information, he could get the help he needed.  But then, another idea popped in his mind that would be a far better answer.  If this is a girl's problem, perhaps a girl would be a better resource and for Charlie, he knew a 16 year old wolf who could help him out.  He quickly picked up the phone and decided to dial up Julianne.  He was hoping she'd pick up quickly and when the other end clicked, he found that Erica had actually answered the phone.

"Hello?  This is the Timberwood residence," Erica answered calmly.

"Ms. Timberwood?" Charlie asked softly, "This is Charlie Silverleaf; is Juile around?  I need some help with something and I think she's the one I need to ask."  Before Erica could answer, he could hear another click, then the warm voice of a nerdy wolfess pick up.

"Oh hello, Charlie," Juile answered sweetly, "What's going on?"

"Well...I gotta girl question and I need a grown-up to help me answer that," Charlie blushed, "Any wee cubs around on your end?"

"Nope, not today," Julie answered, nodding on her end.

"Okay," Charlie sighed in relief, "Well, my sister has been very grouchy and mean.  It was all of a sudden and very intense.  I heard her say things I've never heard her say before.  Even called me a pervert."

"Sounds like some major mood swings there," Julie barked in response, "Other observations from my smart kit?"

"Well...I decided to take care of the trash early and emptied the pails and," Charlie answered shyly, "It looked like she bled into her diaper a little bit.  Last two changes."

"She's almost 12, right?" Julie nodded observantly, "Any pain."

"When she sits down," Charlie nodded, "And she didn't sleep very well."

"Oh," Erica interjected, "I think your sister is having her first period...and she might not be used to her normal cycle."  Charlie blushed hard.  He should have seen it sooner considering all he observed and all that he's seen happened.  Then again, outside scientific knowledge for the most part, girl things weren't his business to poke into.  Since he asked a girl for help to understand what was going on, perhaps they'd be a better teacher than Ms. Silverpine too.

"Well, can Julie come over and help her, then?" Charlie asked politely, "I've been taking care of chores so Miss Julie can help her out."

"Aww, sure thing Charlie," Erica smiled and barked happily, "It's a good thing you asked for our help.  I'm pretty sure that two dog foxes would make things more awkward for her if you two tried to explain that."

"Yeah, I thought about that," Charlie blushed furiously, "I'll be in the playroom doing homework and the door is unlocked...I know, not smart but a grumpy sister would be a good guard dog."  The two wolves chuckled a bit and shook their heads.

"Alright Charlie, I'll be over in a few minutes," Julie replied as she hanged the phone up. Charlie decided it would only be polite to wait by the door for Julie as he watched over his sleeping and squirming sister.  True to her word, Julie did arrive about 10 minutes later and found a relieved kit to hug her tight.

"Thankie for coming Miss Julie," Charlie sighed in relief, "I think Melanie might not what's going on...and please be gently with her as she's been very angry."  Julie smiled and kissed Charlie's nose and ruffled his head.

"I'll be alright, Charlie," Julie smiled, "Go ahead and do your science studies; I'll talk with Melanie and make lunch for you in a while."  Charlie nodded and toddled back to the playroom.  While he would have liked to help Melanie through her problems, after learning from Julie and Erica what was going on he was relieved that he didn't have to explain that to Melanie.  However, before he sat down to take care of his studies, Charlie wanted to make an apology for Melanie; even if it wasn't his fault he wanted to know that he cared about her.  After a few moments of thought, he went ahead and typed up his thoughts and printed them out:

"Mel,

I know you've been upset and angry at me and daddy last night and today.  I want you to know, it not your fault or anyone else's.  You're just going through something that's a normal part of a girl's life.  I'm sorry that I couldn't explain this to you in person but...sometimes a girls need to tell a girl things.  I hope you don't go too rough with Miss Julie as she helps you understand what you're going through.

Even with all this going on, I still care about you Mel.  I know you don't mean what you've said so I'll take the bites and stinging words; you're frustrated because you didn't yet know what was happening.  I can promise you this though, during this part of your month, I will give you space for your necessities.  If you really want me to help, just ask; you might have a shy brother but that's okay.  I can, however, give you all the emotional support you want.  If you need a hug, just hug me tight.  If you need a bedtime story, I'll get that book.

Charlie was happy with how the letter turned out.  He gently folded up the printed letter and carefully laid it on the her changing table.  Afterwards, Charlie just hopped on the computer and started to work on his summer time studies and complete what he wanted to work on.

Meanwhile, Helena was moving her mate's stuff out of her house for the movers.  The kittens were all over at her house that day so she had plenty of help.  She still couldn't believe the lawyer got the order for her mate to leave the house for good that quickly.  In fact her mate wasn't bothered by it all it seemed.  While she was loading up all the personal effects, she was getting a very bittersweet feeling inside of her.  He was supposed to be her best friend, her constant companion but Helena ended being betrayed and hurt by him.  She knew why all too well; he was deployed for a few years overseas while Maya was a little kitten.  When he came back, he was not the same again; he was in a combat zone and had developed PTSD while overseas.  Helena tried her best to talk with him about it and for a while it seemed to work.  But then, her mate received news that his best friend was killed in action.  An improvised explosive was claimed as the cause of death just as her mate's friend was on his way home.  From there, it started to go out of control for him.  

Helena tried to keep strong for Maya and take her mate's anger and physical abuse as best as she could.  She tried to get him help again but he outright refused to get help.  Helena started to cry as she removed the last memories of him from her home.  Of all the Burundi children, both her and Sampson had the most stable relationships and the fact that her mate fell apart after his war experiences just tore her apart.  As the kittens combed through the house for things she identified belonged to him, she wanted so much to find one happy memory to keep of her mate.  While he was leaving her life, Helena couldn't cover up the fact that before war changed him, she had many happy memories of him.

Helena looked around her room frantically one last time for anything of him that'd be worth keeping.  While looking under her bed, of all places, she found an envelope she never found before.  She carefully pulled it out and opened it up and when she pulled it out, she bound the most beautiful picture of her holding the newborn Maya.  On the corner of the picture, her mate had written that no matter what, this would be the happiest moment of his life.  Helena cried sadly.  The fact that he had Maya with her made him happier than anything else in his life was the most beautiful thing he ever written...but of course with all he had suffered, and because of that Helena and Maya, it was also bittersweet as he was hurting the things that made him the happiest in life.  Even still...the picture of her and baby Maya was worth keeping, leaving it in the envelope for now so she could get the picture framed and proudly displayed in the house.  Just as she did, the three kittens popped in and cheered.

"Auntie," Kyle and Jessie cheered, "We helped the movers with everything!"  Helena had a sad smile as her niece and nephew told her the news, hugging all three kittens right there.

"Thank you sweeties" Helena mewed softly, "You're such good helpers."  Helena quietly cried as she held them tight.  Her kitten and her niece and nephew were the most precious things to her and now, it was her job to protect them and cherish the three kittens.

"Momma, you're crying," Maya looked up and nuzzled her cheek, "What's wrong?"

"Maya dear," Helena sniffled, "While daddy had hurt us, I still have good memories of him...before he was eaten up by war.  I didn't want to leave him...but he has a wound so deep he needs to realize he needs help."  The three kittens nodded softly.

"Auntie, don't forget our dad is always here for you," Kyle and Jessie nodded in agreement, "Daddy cares for you."

"I know, you two," Helena kissed Kyle and Jessie softly, "Your aunt is just frustrated that things had to end like this.  At least now, I can find myself again."  The three kittens mewed as they hugged Helena again, then went downstairs to make some lunch.  Helena needed her time to let go just a little bit before she continued on with her day.  Her thoughts stated to see the last images of her mate she had - just of the good days.  Helena only wanted to remember him as he was before he left for war; she curled up tight and started to bawl sadly.  Even with the removal of all his effects, she still couldn't believe what happened in a span of a few days; he cheated on her and had beat her up a bit, she filed for separation and divorce and now, was moving him out and hoping he would get some help.  She hated having to sever the man she had love from her life but for her and her kitten's sake she had no choice.  Enough was enough for her and so, she had to do this.  Helena cried for a good hour before she came downstairs.  The kittens left a note that her sandwiches were waiting for her in the refrigerator.  She pulled her lunch out and went to find the three kittens in Maya's room playing with her plushies. Content to just watch the kittens play, Helena quietly ate her food as she leaned on the door.  As she ate, thoughts of her brother Sampson started to come into her head.  He was as frustrated as she was right now...he was starting to face very sad memories from his past and he needed support, too.  She did promise Sampson that she would come and visit him every night that week.  Maybe she could invite him over to her house too.  She just needed the only family member she trusted, Helena wanted Sampson to keep her company.  She only hoped that Rosalyn wouldn't get jealous of all the attention he would give her in mutually supporting each other.  Helena just felt so little in the world right now as she was certain Sampson was.  Perhaps that was the reason she clung to Sampson so tight. Was that wrong?  She didn't think so, Sampson was just being a good brother and that was what she needed right now.

As she kept thinking, Maya was playfully tugging at her mom and looking up at her with a soft mew.  Helena was a little out of it but when Maya started to pester her, she managed to snap out of it.

"Momma," Maya mewed softly, "Are you okay?"

"I-I am," Helena nodded softly, "How are you three doing?"

"We're good," Maya giggled softly, "Kyle was giving Jessie lots of hugs and kisses a little bit ago.  It was pretty cute too though I think they might be liking it a little too much."  Helena blushed a bit as she saw how clinging and close Kyle was getting to Jessie.  It was unusual to be certain, but her mind wasn't fully on parenting mode at that point so she paid no mind.

"Just as long as they don't get too friendly, now," Helena nodded, "Mind if I join you and your plushies?"  Maya purred and smiled and tugged her mom on in and handed her a big lion plush to cuddle with.  Kyle and Jessie mewed softly as they saw Helena join them for their play time.  Perhaps like the kittens, letting her mind go into a more innocent state of mine would help her for a while till she could talk with Sampson. So she idly started to play with the big guy of the pride as the kittens played with their feline plush.

Kendrick actually came home about his usual time today and as he came in, he was surprise to see Julie giving Melanie a serious talk and helping her with whatever questions she had.

"Oh, didn't expect to see you here today, Julie," Kendrick blushed softly, "What's the honor today?"

"Well, Charlie made the call, Mr. Silverleaf," Julie nodded, "He said you and him noticed that Melanie was rather moody and very different and after thinking about it, Charlie decided it'd be better for a girl to help with girl problems."  Kendrick blushed a bit as Julie talked to him about their day.

"I, uh...should have seen this coming," Kendrick blushed furiously, "B-but I think Charlie made the right call."

"If you're wondering about him, he's been filling in for his sister today on chores," Julie smiled, "Even did the trash and all the floors today."

"I'll be sure to let him know he did a good job," Kendrick smiled, "Where is he right now?"

"In the kitchen working on some stir-fry.  Helped him boil the rice while Melanie was taking care of herself," Julie smiled, "But I think she's going to be alright. She just needed some understanding on what's going on and some good tips to help her through it."  Julie leaned up to him and blushed, "Though in a way I kinda envy her...a diaper is more convenient for such girl issues." Kendrick groaned and blushed furiously as he flicked Juile's ear.

"Okay, okay, that's a little too much there Miss," Kendrick chuckled as he went over to the kitchen. Charlie was in a pair of blue shorts in addition to the tee earlier, working on the vegetables and rice while the meat was being cooked.  He was concentrating on not burning the rice in the wok as he fidgeted a bit on the step stool.

"Hiya daddy, how was work?" Charlie smiled as he took the heat off the meat.

"Work was pretty good today," he smiled, "Heard you were a good boy today and even did your sister's chores."

"She wasn't feeling well daddy," Charlie nodded as he started to plate the rice for supper. "Dinner is almost ready so please wash up."  Kendrick smiled and nodded as Julie came over and started to get the chopsticks and forks out and got the cups out, too.  Once the stir-fry and teriyaki beef was ready, Charlie carried out five plates over to the table.

"Five plates?" Julie asked in surprise.

"I called your mom," Charlie smirked, "Thought she'd like to share a meal."  Julie blushed softly, then smiled.

"Okay, that is pretty nice of you," Julie smiled and kissed his cheek, "You are such a sweetie."  Charlie cutely blushed as Erica came into the house, greeted by a drained Melanie (as the whole conversation and the preceding rant really sapped Melanie's energy).  Erica gently guided Melanie to the table, smiling gently at Charlie and her girl as Kendrick came back up and blushed as he saw Erica.

"Evening, Kenny," Erica barked happily, "Charlie invited me over since he had to get Julie's help today."

"I heard," Kendrick as he took his place on the table, "Though I think someone had also set this up as a dinner date, too." Charlie blushed and stuck his tongue out at Kendrick as he sat down.  To be honest though, Charlie just wanted to set up the dinner to thank Julie and Erica for their help.  The whole dinner date deal was just a coincidence and not intended by the kit who invited Erica over.  Even still the two families enjoyed their dinner together and yes, Kendrick and Erica did get their fair share of dinner date activities with their meal too with lots of idle giggles from Charlie and Julie and a couple from a tired out Melanie.  After dinner, Julie and Erica did have to return home as they had a few cubs to watch the next day.  Charlie giggled and nodded in approval when his dad actually took the initiative to give Erica a nice smooch while Erica gave Melanie a comforting hug.  Charlie was busy cleaning up the table just as he heard all the goodbyes.

"Charlie, I'm grateful you called me over today," Julie smiled as she kissed Charlie right on the nose, "Melanie was a little grumpy at you for calling me over, but when I told her you were looking out for her, I think she understood."  Charlie blushed and nodded as he hugged Julie.  Erica also gave a hug and smiled, ruffling his always-messy hair. It was clear Erica really liked Charlie and liked that Julie was such a good friend to him.  It was good that he had an older role model to lean on for those important questions and with that Erica felt that Charlie was in good paws.

"See you later, Julie, Miss Erica," Charlie smiled and barked as his dad hugged him from behind.  The two wolves headed on out for the evening.  Though Charlie was so tired from picking up the slack on the chores so he quickly toddled off to take his bath and get ready for an early night.  After Charlie had bathed himself, he came by Melanie who was being very quiet and a little shy around Charlie; she was rather rough to him and his dad so that was kind of expected. Once she bathed, she just went straight to her bedroom and started to dress up for bed.  Before she changed herself though, she found Charlie's letter he had written for her.  As soon as she read it she cried.  Julie was right; Charlie was looking after her as he expressed his concerns over her moods and what she was going through. He even kindly offered free hugs and extra support for her and privacy if she needed it.  That was when Melanie started to think about all the thought Charlie had put in writing that letter.  She sniffed happily as she realized Charlie was being considerate of her.  He was never as artistic as Melanie but as she mentioned to him before, he always put lots of thought into his actions.  She loved that about Charlie. Melanie started to think a little bit though, he did offer to respect her privacy but as open as they've been about each other, she wondered if he could still end a hand.  She may have been angry all morning, Charlie still trusted her and accepted her for her own foibles.  She may have been bossy and her own monthly cycle made her as mean as her mom at that point...but Charlie was patient with her and gave her the space.  Melanie trembled as she put her nightgown on, her heart was pounding.  Melanie needed to go and see Charlie and just hug the stuffing out of him.  Just before Charlie could close the door, Melanie tugged the door wide open; her arms swung wide and she gave Charlie the tightest squeeze he should give him.

"Kit!" Melanie cried happily, "I'm sorry for those mean words.  But I'm so glad you took it in stride."  Charlie blushed as he looked at his sister.

"It's okay, Mel," Charlie cooed softly, "Don't need to tell me anything, sis."  Melanie nuzzled Charlie cheek and licked him.

"Gosh, I can't believe how much you care about me though," Melanie cooed and snuggled to him, "And...I don't mind if you want to still give me a paw though.  Treat it like a messy pair of diapers?"

"Sure, Mel," Charlie nuzzled her warmly, "It's only a couple of days so it's not a big deal.  But if you do have a request, just ask."  Melanie nodded and giggled a bit.

"Thank you, Kit," Melanie cooed, "Is dad leaving early again tomorrow?"

"He is," Charlie nodded, "Here, come to bed, Mel."  Charlie made sure Melanie's door was close, then gently closed the door behind them as Melanie gently nestled herself to Charlie, just wanting to feel safe in his arms.  Charlie was special, he was so mature and even-tempered for a kit his age and going through her changes didn't bother him too much.  Charlie was her Kit, and she wanted him to keep her company that night.

After Maya and Helena left their home Jessie and Kyle were getting cleaned up for bedtime.  Kyle had already taken his bath first so Jessie was sitting in the tub and getting herself cleaned up.  As she reached for a rubber bath toy and rubbed it in her paws, she was starting to think about Kyle. She felt her affections grow for him in the last several days and it seemed like the feelings were mutual.  But she was wanting things to go a bit faster.  She wanted Kyle to please her and deeply kiss her; she wanted Kyle to play with her during their changes.  Her thoughts became naughty as she thought about the other day where they saw their mom and dad together in that odd ritual.  Jessie just wanted Kyle, nothing else...and in her frustration, she thought about using the toy to please herself but no...it wasn't the same for her so she just put it away.  It still bothered her deeply that she wanted Kyle to be closer and closer to her so they could be naughty kittens.  Jessie just shook her head as she got herself cleaned up and after finishing, climbed out of the tub and dried herself up.  

Once she was diapered up and in her sleeper, she thought about just climbing into her bed but she was really wanting Kyle.  Even if she was caught, she just wanted to sleep with him and keep him tightly pressed up to her.  So she quietly entered his room and closed the door, then without him noticing at all, she slowly wiggled into sheets and spooned up next to her.  Kyle didn't budge quite yet; that was until Jessie wrapped her paws around and nibbled on his cheek.

"Jessie!" Kyle quietly yelped, "Why aren't you in your bed for?"

"Brother, I need you!" Jessie quietly cried, "It's makin' me crazy.  Even if I get caught, I wanna be right here with you, please?"  Kyle didn't quite feel comfortable with his sister sleeping with him like that yet.  A part of him thought she was going too fast and wanted her to wait.  Yet there was another part of Kyle that just wanted her right there, but with him spooned around her.  He was still trying to decide what Jessie meant to him. She was more that just a sibling but he just didn't know how much more.  Jessie just didn't care though as she pressed up to him and nuzzled and wiggles into him.  Kyle resisted purring, but as she licked his cheek and wiggled her tail to his, he couldn't help it as he purred happily.  Kyle was fighting his instinct to be more forward with Jessie and that was frustrating to Jessie as she was ready for it already.

"Jessie, I love you," Kyle whispered softly, just blurting out what he was thinking, "I do want you...I'm just so nervous."

"Brother...I love you too," Jessie mewed quietly, "You shoulda told me you had cold paws though."  Jessie softly blushed as the two started to doze off together, just thinking about each other as they nestled together.

The next morning, Charlie was relieved that Melanie did sleep much better and gently held his paw.  She cooed softly as her eyes opened and saw that Charlie was still there holding her warmly.  She was still a little moody but she did her best to temper it; it was something she had to live with, after all.  It was no use to take it out on her dad or Charlie so she just did her best to let things flow.  Her paws intertwined with Charlie's as she pulled herself up and licked his cheek.

"Morning, Kit," Melanie cooed softly as she nuzzled her brother.

"Morning, Mel," Charlie smiled as he kissed her paw, "Sleep well?"

"I did, thanks Kit," Melanie helped herself up and hugged Charlie, "Want to give me a paw this morning?"

"S-sure thing," Charlie nodded shyly as Melanie crawled over to the changing table, waiting for him to help her.  Melanie was growing up just like Charlie and she had her own challenges; yesterday was one of those first experiences where she didn't know what was up or down.  It was a very confusion experience for her and she didn't know how to react.  Thankfully she had a best friend in the world who knew exactly who to reach out her frustrations and for that, Melanie was grateful for the help.  After they gave each other a paw that morning, Melanie just gave Charlie a big hug and kissed his cheek.

Meanwhile at Kyle and Jessie's place...the two kittens had a big surprise waiting for them that morning.  And with that surprise, a kitten's frustrations had to be confronted.  That very morning was the door to temptation for Kyle and Jessie to dive deeper than they already have.

For Kyle and Jessie, they usually had at least their mom around when they woke up.  However on this day, they were actually home alone.  Kyle and Jessie had only themselves...and Jessie wanted to play.  Once the two cleaned up each other and were freshly diapered and dressed, Jessie purred in need as she laid on his bed waiting for him to come on over.  Kyle was still hesitant to come over, but his sister's eyes were so enticing and her enchanting purr just pulled him right on over.  He couldn't help it right now, Kyle wanted to play with her.  Like Jessie, he was frustrated that he was holding himself back. But now, no parents watching, Kyle felt relaxed enough that he climbed on over Jessie and gently lowered himself to her.

"Good boy," Jessie purred naughtily, ready for Kyle to share his frustration with her.

"Y-you sure this is what you want, Jessie?" Kyle blushed furiously.
