", "writing": "Beastars: Kyuu and Illuminati\nWritten by Silent Soul Ken SSK\nSummary: A few months after Melon was imprisoned Kyuu finally finds an apartment complex willing to take her in but she’ll find that she’s in a plot that will change her life completely.\n\nPart 1\nThe Experiment\n\nKyuu walked up to the building… Though to call it a building was a bit of a misconception at first glance. It resembled a simple building not even a story tall… but apparently this was because the actual building itself was underground. It was an apartment complex built specifically for rabbits to simulate how they lived many years ago. According to reviews it was the perfect apartment complex for bunnies… which Kyuu would have no idea about. She was raised for slaughter, she never knew other rabbits personally and she had no idea how to behave around them. However she had no choice, all the other complexes she had tried were either full or didn’t accommodate smaller herbivores for fear of accidents. Though from what she had read the buildings used to accommodate them so it was curious as to why they stopped recently. She had to stop herself for fear of being paranoid. She was accustomed to being paranoid but it wouldn’t do to be like that in public.\n\nShe walked up to the entrance and saw that the door had no handles to open. It was a metallic door, and as she looked around from the upper frame a red light shone and she looked up to see the beam of light going down her body. Then it went up and once it finished the door beeped and a voice said “Rabbit DNA confirmed, welcome to the Burrow,” and then opened sliding to the side. She walked in, for some reason she felt very nervous… and suspicious. Such technology was… beyond amazing why would rabbits and bunnies have it? As she walked in she came to a small room, in the room were two large hares, she heard of hares. They were large rabbit-like beings, with brown fur and unlike most of the rabbit family they could fight as they had powerful legs and arms. Though from what she heard they preferred to remain in the countryside disliking modern cities greatly. She heard rumors that if they were in the city they could not only pick a fight with carnivores but they could protect rabbits if they wanted to.\n\nThe two hares wore a security outfit, and their large eyes glared down at her, she felt their resolute and powerful aura. Something she had only felt from Legoshi, it was intimidating that such a force could be felt from a herbivore other than the panda Gohin. “Right this way.” said one gesturing forward. She moved forward keeping her eyes forward to avoid looking into their huge eyes. She eventually came to a counter where a female rabbit sat. The rabbit had black fur and black eyes that seemed to vanish into her fur only showing her green pupil. “Greetings and welcome to the Burrow.” She said looking at Kyuu, a name tag on her chest read Eliza.\n\nKyuu was nervous about what to say, eventually she settled on “Hello, my name is uh… Kyuu? I heard this place has an opening for a room?” She asked.\n\nThe rabbit tapped away at a keyboard, the computer screen reflecting in her eyes, “Yes we have a few openings. Is there a depth you prefer?” She asked.\n\nKyuu blinked, “Uhhh depth?” She queried for clarification.\n\nEliza realized, “Ah I see you haven’t been in a warren style apartment. To explain we have various rooms of varying depths, some rabbits like being closer to the surface while others prefer to go deep underground. We have both an elevator service and a running pathway if you want exercise going to the different depths. It helps stimulate some of our more… primal instincts if you will.” she explained.\n\nKyuu nodded, “Uh-huh um… are there any close to the surface?” she asked.\n\nEliza turned to the computer moving her mouse, “Hmm we have none near the surface closest would be depth 3 unfortunately.” she said.\n\nKyuu cocked her head, “And how deep is depth 3? Actually how deep does this apartment go?” She asked.\n\nThe black rabbit smiled, “it goes down to 15, as for how deep depth 3 is, this might do better than me explaining.” She grabbed a brochure and handed it to Kyuu. Kyuu grabbed it and looked at it. It showed a model of the apartment along with the city around. According to this, each depth was about 10 feet below the surface meaning that Depth 3 was 30 feet below the surface.\n\nAs she looked at it a concern occurred to her, “Has there ever been any cave-ins or collapses?” she asked.\n\nThe receptionist's eyes widened, “A valid concern, no Warrens these days are built with the anti-earthquake, and cave in technology. Each depth is actually a huge metallic area specially treated to not only withstand high pressure, but also set in with stabilizers, and in extreme cases there are emergency exits that lead to the surface. Should you get an apartment you’ll get a special map showing these exits.” she explained.\n\nKyuu nodded, “Ok then I guess the next question is how much is rent?” She asked.\n\nEliza nodded, “Well rent is about 50,000 yen a month, an extra 5,000 for insurance, utilities are covered, as is waste but you must dump your waste before monday of the following week. Any other questions?” She asked.\n\nKyuu thought about it, “What can you tell me about the residents here?” she asked.\n\nEliza interlocked her hands together, “Well as much as any rabbit community is, it is generally a positive and tight knit group. We have special group parties and sessions for those who want some interaction. We even have birthday parties, if you wanted to celebrate that. Other than that everybody is eager to meet newcomers, show the best picks for groceries, activities you might be interested in and we even have counseling if you require it.” she elucidated.\n\nKyuu was surprised that a simple apartment complex had such services. “Ok so um how do I pay with cash or credit?” she asked.\n\nEliza straightened, “Your payment can be whatever you are most comfortable with. Cash credit doesn't matter. Just make sure it’s paid by the 3rd of every month. You will have a 2 day grace period allowing you to pay on the 5th if you can’t do it before then. You will incur a 200 yen Fee with every passing day after the 5th, understand?” she said her voice with a strong steely tone. Kyuu nodded, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a wallet, Louis was able to set her up with a debit card. She held it out to Eliza, “Good now then ID?” She asked. Kyuu also pulled it out, another gift from Louis and Gohin they had been able to get a lot of paperwork done for her, even getting her a health insurance card. She handed that to Eliza, Eliza took it and looked at it, something flashed in her eyes for a brief second a look of joy but it was gone so quick Kyuu was sure she had imagined it.\n\nEliza entered everything, and then reached for a keypad to her right and swiped the card. A beeping and a confirming beep sounded. She then moved her mouse, clicked something, a humming as a printer came to life and began whirring as it printed out the paperwork, once it had fully printed the rabbit took the paper and fanned it slightly to dispel the heat. Then she laid it in front of Kyuu, “Alright sign here and you’ll become a resident of the Burrow.” she said and picking up a pen she placed it down next to the paper.\n\nKyuu looked at the paper, per Gohin and Louis’ lessons she checked every word carefully looking for any loopholes, or binding contracts hidden in the words… She spent a good minute reading through it and another minute re-reading it. She was so focused she never saw the look of admiration on Eliza’s face as Kyuu read it. Kyuu found no particular loopholes or things to watch for that Louis and Gohin had taught her to look for. So she signed it as was taught to her, and handed the paper back, Eliza’s face went back into its bland expression. She took the paper and looked at the signature, “Good I’ll send this to the landlord, when would you like to move in?” she asked.\n\nKyuu thought about it, she didn’t have much just her bed, and some personal effects, “Can I move in now and bring my stuff tomorrow?” she asked.\n\nEliza nodded, “Of course, whenever you wish,” she then slid back and went to a wall where a metallic wall box was. She pressed her hand on a pad which scanned her hand and the box opened revealing a wall of keys. Kyuu noted that there were quite a few empty hooks there were still quite a few keys still on, each key ring had 2 keys attached to it. It looked to be well over 100 hooks, Eliza grabbed one on the third row up and as she stepped back the wallbox closed and she walked from the desk. “Follow me.” she said and Kyuu did so. She walked to the side where an elevator was, and to the right and left of the elevator were openings, the opening on the right had a street tar flooring, while the one on the left had a dirt flooring. “These are the other ways to go down the Burrow. Both can allow for both running or biking. The dirt ground is for those who want that more authentic running experience while the other is for those who prefer the more modern feel.” she explained. “But if you wanna bypass that, the elevator is right here.” she concluded.\n\nShe pressed the singular down button, and the elevator opened, Kyuu saw it was quite a large elevator more than likely to fit in large amounts of rabbits at once. She walked in behind Eliza and saw that the weight limit went up to 6,000 pounds. Allowing it to carry a large amount of bunnies as well as allow guests… provided they weren’t an elephant. Eliza pressed the button marked D-3 and the doors closed. The elevator hummed as it went down, despite the humming the ride was smooth. Kyuu felt none of the sudden jolt of descent; it was also quite fast within about 15 seconds they were at Depth 3. The door opened to a large corridor, with many doors but as Kyuu looked around she it wasn’t the only corridor there were 3 others, each one going north east and south, and from what she saw each corridor had 25 apartment rooms in each of them. Totalling to 100 rooms on one depth. Eliza headed for the East Corridor and walked to a room that read 368. “This is your apartment, would you like for me to give you a tour?” she asked. Kyuu looked at the door, it was quite large and even had 3 separate door handles of varying heights but only one lock on it which was next to the door handle on their height level.\n\nKyuu shrugged, “Sure why not.” she said. Eliza inserted the key into the lock and turned to the right, it clicked open she then pulled it out and shifted to the second key and inserted into the keyhole below the handle. Eliza handed it to Kyuu and Kyuu saw that the key’s were numbered 1 and 2.\n\nEliza pointed to the lock, “This is for the first key,” she said, then at the keyhole, “For the second key.” Kyuu nodded in understanding and Eliza turned the door handle and pushed it open. Only the door of their height opened while the other doors remained still. “As you might have guessed the other doors are for guests you might have of larger stature than you. However they cannot open it till you come inside and unlock the lock for that door handle, which can only be unlocked from inside. This is to prevent unwanted guests.” she explained. Kyuu was impressed by the level of thought gone into the security despite how simplistic it looked. She followed Eliza in and was surprised with how big the apartment was. From what she had seen it was slightly larger than the usual apartment, and had as much room as a small house.\n\nComplete with separate kitchens, living room, bathing area, bedrooms, and dining room. It was impressive. Eliza explained each room, the alarm system, the intercom, and the heating/AC system. Kyuu listened carefully and when i was done she looked at Eliza, “Much bigger than I was expecting.” she said.\n\nEliza smiled, “We are very well funded, so we might as well use that funding for maximum comfort.” she elucidated.\n\nKyuu nodded, it made sense, “I see well… thanks…,” she said and went to the bedroom which already had a bed on it. She went onto the bed and was surprised by how soft and comfortable it was. “Wow, so soft.” she said, Eliza was leaving. Kyuu let her go laying on her back and staring at the ceiling. “So this is my new home…” she said. “I guess I gotta meet the neighbors one day but probably tomorrow not today.” she said and getting up she went to organize the place a bit.\n\nOutside Eliza was at the elevator, she entered it and when it opened she went to the buttons and lowered her head to the bottom most button and pressed it. The button trilled as it scanned her thumb, then it slid to the side revealing an eye scanning device. She let it scan her eye, and an affirmative beeping sounded. Eliza stood up as the button slid back in. The elevator lights turned off and a voice spoke, “Eliza?” Came a voice masked with a voice changer, “Has she finally come?” it asked.\n\nEliza smiled, “Yes my lord she is finally here. Kyuu… is here.” she said.\n\nA chuckle sounded, “Good, all we need to do now is wait and see. See if she truly has the skill needed for us rabbits to be strong.” it said, “Make sure she gets everything she needs. We will inform the others of her arrival.” it said.\n\nEliza’s smile vanished, “It would be best my lord if you did not push interaction onto her, from what I saw she is extremely shrewd and suspicious, if we force her into this I doubt she will join us wholeheartedly.” she advised.\n\n“Hmmm… very well we’ll have minimal visitors for her then, keep up the good work Eliza.” it said and the elevator lights turned on again. She pressed the G floor button and smiled, everything was going according to plan… for now.\n\n[b]-The Next day-[/b]\n\nKyuu walked to the Burrow, behind her was Louis and Gohin, who were carrying some things she had along with 2 horses who were carrying large boxes. It was stuff she had bought that they had advised her would be good for her. Gohin and Louis looked at the Burrow, they were silent but when Kyuu had told them about getting an apartment there they both had looked it up. What they found was very simplistic and to the point… it was also highly rated in the rabbit community. They had a flicker of suspicion but ultimately they decided to drop it for now. Kyuu walked up to the building and it scanned her and the others. A voice spoke, “Resident Kyuu detected, with others.” Then a buzz, and a new voice spoke feminine.\n\n“Kyuu are these companions of yours?” came the voice of Eliza.\n\nKyuu looked at them, “Yes, they are helping me move in.” she said.\n\nA pause, “Very well we’ll let them in,” she said and there was a buzzing and the door opened. Kyuu walked in, Gohin and Louis noticing the hares. They were silent but they were alerted and well aware of the hare's dislike for major cities. At the table was Eliza, she gestured to the left of her desk, “The elevator is right there, please don’t exceed 6,000 pounds.” she said.\n\nKyuu led the moving crew to the elevator and the 5 entered it. The elevator jerked slightly but other than that they got in alright. Kyuu pressed the D-3 button and the elevator closed, the elevator hummed as it went down then 15 seconds later it stopped. In that brief time Louis used his vision to look around while not moving, using his inborn 300 degree vision. From what he saw he saw no hidden cameras that he was aware of, however what caught his attention was the bottommost button on the list of floors. When it opened Kyuu led them to her room, at her door was a rabbit, a rather chunky and stocky rabbit with long floppy ears, white with spots of brown fur judging from the clothing it was male. A Holland lop rabbit, the rabbit turned, “Ah hello there.” The rabbit said, his voice was deep and slightly scratchy, “I’m a neighbor of yours, my name is Harper.” He walked up to her hand held out in welcome, she didn’t take it. “Hmmm alright, not one for contact.” he said.\n\nGohin said, “It’s not that she’s just not used to conversing or interacting with others, she has a… troubled past to say the least.” he explained.\n\nHarper nodded, “Ahhh understandable we have a few like that too.” he said, “Well just wanted to say hello.” He said and he walked to a door at the end walking inside it. \n\nKyuu went to her own door unlocking both locks and going in to open the larger doors. The doors opened and Gohin and Louis walked in with the horses right behind him. Gohin and Louis looked around, then placed the stuff they had in the appropriate places. The horses put down their own boxes and Louis volunteered to guide them out. \n\nWhen the door was closed Gohin turned to Kyuu, “So this is your place huh?” He said.\n\nKyuu shrugged, “Yeah it is, I couldn't find any other place.” she said, “All the places you suggested said they don’t allow smaller herbivores anymore.” she explained.\n\nHe was silent as he thought, [i]‘Strange, all the other places I mentioned allowed for smaller herbivores at the time… why the sudden change of mind?’[/i] he couldn’t help but wonder. “Well it looks like a good place, you could do with being with your own kind.” he said, “Just be open and you’ll make friends.” She looked down, “What’s wrong?” He asked.\n\nKyuu looked up at him, “I dunno… I’m not good with… ‘friends’ I mean what happened with Legoshi and Melon… I don’t think I deserve friends.” she said.\n\nGohin knelt down and placed a hand on her shoulder, “Legoshi is fine, Melon’s arrested and things have changed. It’s true you betrayed him but he doesn’t mind he understands that society is brutal and cutthroat you gotta look out for yourself. But if you really want forgiveness, start by being open, being ready to help others in bad times, while also looking out for yourself ok?” She nodded and looked up at him.\n\nAs she did she felt the feelings she had denied to Legoshi rising up the one he said when he said she was in love with Gohin. She looked at him wanting to say it… then she remembered that he was a married man with a son. She sighed, “I’ll try.” she said.\n\nHe smiled and rubbed her head, “You’ll be ok you’re strong.” he said, “Just don’t lose your edge and you’ll be fine.” he said. A knock on the door and Gohin went to the door, opening it to show Louis at the door.\n\nHe walked in, and looked at Kyuu “So you looking for a job?” he asked.\n\nShe nodded, “Sure so long as it’s something very active.” she said, “I don’t want to be behind a desk writing nonsense.” She said.\n\nGohin folded his arms over his chest, “Well probably a transportation service where they transport goods?” he suggested.\n\nKyuu thought on that, “Sure that’d be fine.” she agreed.\n\nLouis nodded, “Ok I can probably get that set up, we are expanding to transporting stores for smaller herbivores.” he said, “And here.” he said, going to one of the bags he had bought. He reached in and pulled out a cellphone. “I got a provider for you, the payment is about 40,000 yen per month. I even put mine and Gohin’s numbers in if you wanna call us.” he said. “Keep it on hand I’ll call you about the job when I can.” he said, she nodded, Louis and Gohin looked at each other, “Time to go.” he said, and the two left, then he stopped and turned to Kyuu, “Remember you’re not alone anymore.” he said and then they left.\n\nKyuu blinked then smiled, “Yeah I know.” she said.\n\nOutside the Burrow both Louis and Gohin looked at the apartment, Louis spoke first, “I don’t know why but that place gives me a sinister feeling about it.” he said.\n\nGohin nodded, “Yeah that place gives off some really bad vibes. What’s confusing is what she told me that all the other places I suggested to her stopped taking in smaller herbivores.” he said.\n\nLouis looked at the panda, “Really? Mind giving me the name of those apartments?” He asked.\n\nGohin nodded, “No problem but let’s talk about that somewhere else.” he said, Louis nodded in agreement and they left. Neither realizing that in an alley, a rabbit shaped figure lurked completely dressed in black blending in with the alley’s darkness.\n\nThey reached for the base of their ear, “Sir they have left should we pursue them?” said a masculine voice.\n\n“No, leave them be, make sure that the other Landlords are watched, do not kill them but remind them of their agreement with us.” said a strong voice.\n\nA nod from the rabbit, “Understood.” and they sank back into the shadows.\n[b]\n-3 Months Later-[/b]\n\nKyuu was in her apartment reading a magazine, Louis had been elected as the new Sublime Beastar. Using his new influence he had created the Herbivore Protection Force the HPF, where large and strong herbivores were assembled to help prevent predator attacks. The force had horses, elephants, deers, bison, bulls, and, bizarrely enough, mice. Apparently the force was already making great strides, having stopped some predator attacks and sent them to a special hospital for rehabilitation. Speaking of Gohin’s practice had greatly expanded now, having several staff, mostly panda’s, to assist with the rehabilitations. As for Legoshi, last she heard he was gonna marry Haru but no wedding date had been set. She heard a knock at the door and setting the magazine down she got up, and went to the door she looked at the peephole and saw several rabbits.\n\nA female angora, a female giant, and a male lop, she knew these rabbits. She opened the door, “Hey what’s up?” she asked.\n\nThe angora was a peculiar rabbit, ner name was Kikuchiyo. She had large amounts of fur growing from the exposed parts of her body. She had light cream colored fur, small brown eyes that she had in a closed squint, and a bright pink nose. Her fur made her look much bigger than she actually was. Not to say she was lacking, in fact her assets were on par with Kyuu’s, though her breasts were slightly bigger not that Kyuu compared. She was rather bubbly, at first she annoyed Kyuu but over the months Kyuu began to appreciate her rather positive outlook and would often frequent her whenever she was feeling down. It didn’t hurt that she was a surprisingly good cook, and she made a living off her own fur selling it as wool she even knitted some herself to make caps and socks for herself and her neighbors.\n\nThe female giant rabbit was Makoto, she was a huge rabbit, not as large as the hares guarding the entrance but still larger than most of the other rabbits in the burrow. She was a gentle giant, quiet, and observant. She had light brown fur, fur covering her eyes, and large ears that she often had tied back like a ponytail. According to her it didn’t hurt nor did it affect her hearing. She worked at a store specifically designed for rabbit goods, selling freshly grown farm crops from the countryside, and also selling special products made from them. She often helped Kyuu with heavy objects and helped her with reading and writing.\n\nThe lop was Jiro, he had white fur with black spots, he was slightly taller than Kyuu but had much larger ears, his ears almost reaching his knee. He had black eyes, which when combined with two of the black spots were around his eyes; it effectively hid his eyes in a sea of black. Jiro was a computer guy who worked as an I.T. and helped Kyuu understand computers, phones and various other electronic devices. While Kyuu was thankful for the help she was quite certain he was attracted to her. As for how Kyuu felt, well she wasn’t really attracted to him, while he was useful with machines she saw him both as a weakling and a fraidy cat. If she wanted a man she would want one that could put his foot down and not back down after doing so. She looked at the three, “What’s going on?” She asked, somewhat suspicious of their gathering.\n\nKikuchiyo smiled, “Hey Kyuu we were gonna go shopping and were wondering if you wanted to join us.” She announced.\n\nKyuu was silent for a few seconds as she thought about it, Gohin had advised her to be more active in making friends… and these three were the closest she could call friends. After a few more seconds she nodded, “Ok lemme get dressed.” she said and the other three nodded. Kyuu closed the door, and within a minute Kyuu was out wearing her usual red sports clothing with a sports bag over her shoulder. “Let’s go.” she said.\n\nThe four left the Burrow heading for the mall. They took public transportation to get there and spent several hours shopping with the other three showing Kyuu items to purchase and helping her understand the appeal as best they could. Kyuu herself was surprised that such a large building had so many stores it was dizzying. But she bought items she felt would be useful as well as nice to have.\n\nWhen they had left, Kyuu's sports bag was bulging with her purchases. Kikuchiyo had bought so much stuff that Makoto was carrying it. Makoto by comparison didn’t buy much, mostly food and Jiro had bought some video games. “That was great.” Kikuchiyo said.\n\nKyuu smiled slightly, “It was… nice…” she admitted, she looked at them as they talked to each other and she saw how happy they were. She felt… like she belonged, [i]‘This is what it means to have friends isn’t it?’[/i] she thought.\n\nThe bus arrived and the four got on it, as they sat down Kyuu noticed a group approaching the bus. A 5 beast pack of coyotes, she reached into her bag with one hand while the other hand reached for the knife in her ear. They got on the bus and went to the back leering at the bunnies as they walked past. Makoto and Jiro cowered while Kikuchiyo shifted nervously. It was then that Kyuu noticed the bus driver was also a coyote, she felt a sense of danger. But she lowered her hand near her ear but kept the other solely in her bag ready just in case. The bus began to drive the inside lights dimming, combined with the fading sun it gave the bus a reddish hue not unlike blood. As the bus drove Kyuu glanced at the windows and she saw the familiar buildings of the route. But she didn’t relax, which turned out to be the correct action.\n\nOne of the coyotes got up and he walked up to Kyuu. He tapped her shoulder and she turned to face him, “What’s the matter little bun-bun? Scared of some mangy coyotes?” he growled. She narrowed her eyes at him “Wow, who knew a bun-bun could make such a scary face.” Kyuu’s eyes narrowed even more. She didn’t know it but she was releasing her imaginary chimera just with this glare alone. Her hatred for carnivores had devolved into a strong dislike, this however was formed from a desire to protect her companions. He backed off as his eyes saw the image of that beast emanating from this tiny bunny. It was then that one of the coyotes threw a can at him.\n\nHe snapped out of his trance and glared at his friend who shouted, “Don’t be a pussy!” they said.\n\nThe coyote growled, then turned to Kyuu, “How about you and me go someplace private and you show me if those are real or not.” he said, his finger poking her chest. \n\nKyuu turned away and made a motion to pull her ear back when in reality she was getting ready to pull it out. “Take a hike.” she said.\n\nThe Coyote barked, “Shut up you stupid bunny and come with-” he reached for her. A mistake for sure, Kyuu reached for her knife and pulled it out, with a single motion she gave a quick stab to the back of his hand and then pulled out her rope and leapt off her seat into the more open part of the bus. It was so fast that the coyote was unaware she had jumped off when the pain filled his hand, he looked at it and saw the stab wound, while not muscle deep it was enough that blood spurted out like a fountain. “Gyahhhh!” he shrieked, “The fucking bitch stabbed me!” he shouted. The other coyote got up and charged her, she began spinning her rope, and her imaginary chimera was now visible to all, even to her bunny comrades.\n\nThe coyote faltered, “What the hell is that?” one said, Kyuu struck, she swung her rope at him the rope coiled around his neck and she pulled he came down snout first hitting the floor and roaring with pain as the flesh split from the impact. He rolled around the floor grasping his bloody nose. The others looked at him in shock when Kyuu hopped at one, using what remained of her rope to wrap around another Coyote’s neck and stabbing into his shoulder muscle with her knife while pulling back on the combination of lack of oxygen and blood loss causing him to lose consciousness in seconds. She didn’t rest though, grabbing her second knife she hopped up as the coyotes realized she was close and swung their fists to punch her. Only to swing at empty air as she jumped up and kicked at one with her feet and used the propulsion to headbutt another. The kicked coyote slammed into the window cracking it and causing him to drop to the ground grasping his ribs. The other hit a chair, the back of his head hitting the headrest and he fell unconscious, slumping into the seat.\n\nWith four down she turned to the fifth and saw him grabbing Jiro and holding a knife to his face, the arm jerking about wildly, “S-Stay back!” the coyote stammere. “I-I’ll slice off his precious ears!” he stammered his eyes wild with panic. Kyuu held her hands up in surrender, “Drop the knives!” he ordered. She moved slowly, gently putting her knives onto the ground, but as she did she saw Kikuchiyo getting up with a bag in hand. However the bag crinkled and the coyote turned to face the sound. Kyuu grabbed her knives and threw one at the coyote’s hand.\n\nHer aim was true, hitting the wrist, the coyote howled and dropped Jiro, Kyuu jumped up and stabbed his side, he screamed with pain only to be shut up as Kyuu hit him with a spinning elbow into the back of his head. Unconsciousness was immediate and he fell to the ground joining his moaning friends. Kyuu went to each one and hit them with the butt of her knives to make sure they were all unconscious. When she confirmed they were all knocked out she carefully put her knives back into her ears, undid her rope from them and turned to see the three rabbits staring at her in amazement. Though Jiro’s pants were certainly soiled. “What?” She asked.\n\nMakoto got her voice back first, “That was amazing! You took them out so easily!” she said.\n\nKyuu felt herself flush with embarrassment, “Well not easy I just was lucky.” she dismissed.\n\nBut Kikuchiyo walked up, “No, that was incredible! C-Could you teach me?” she asked.\n\nKyuu looked at Kikuchiyo, her eyes wide with awe and reverence… she felt a fluttering in her chest like her heart was beating two times in a row. “Uhh I can't, it's not for everyone and you’d need to train really, really, really, hard to do what I did.” she said. They were jerked by the bus stopping, and turned to see the street leading to the Burrow. Gathering their stuff they got off Kyuu thought that the talk of training was over.\n\nKikuchiyo however was unwilling to give up, “Kyuu I’m serious please train us!” she said. Kyuu lowered her head as she walked, her feet automatically taking her home.\n\nMakoto walked up, “I’d like to learn as well. I might not have the speed but surely you must have something I can use.” she said.\n\nJiro looked nervous, “Um your rope technique looked interesting, also doesn’t it hurt hiding those in your ears?” he asked.\n\nKyuu looked at the three of them… it was like Legoshi all over again… except they were all rabbits just like her. She had to make sure they had the proper motivation, “Why do you all even want to learn how to fight?” She asked.\n\nKikuchiyo backed away slightly, “Well the thing is I’ve always been afraid whenever I go out on my own even when I’m working I’m afraid a carnivore might eat me. Even with the HPF around I still fear for my life.” she said.\n\nMakoto nodded, “Yes even with how big I am tigers and lions look at me like they want to just gobble me in one mouthful.” she said. “Also I want to show others my size isn’t just for show.” she said.\n\nJiro rubbed the back of his neck, “I don’t like going out too much cause I lack the confidence to do so… but maybe if I train with you I can be more confident in myself enough to go outside.” he added in.\n\nKyuu sighed as they got to the street with the Burrow down it, she thought on it… then inhaled deeply, “If you really want to do it we can start tomorrow ok, but know this the training is gonna be hard, and it’s not for the weak of mind, heart or body.” she said.\n\nKikuchiyo nodded, “I understand I’ll do my very best!” she said, Makoto and Jiro nodding in agreement. They were at the Burrow doors, which scanned them and let them in, “I gotta talk with Eliza take care you three.” she said. Kyuu nodded and with Jiro and Makoto they went down to their apartments to relax. Kyuu looked as she turned to press the button to her floor while Jiro took the path not wanting the smell of urine to fill the elevator. She saw Kikuchiyo and Eliza talking quite animatedly as if they were good friends. She hoped one day she could do that… to do that she would have to be even more open than she currently was. ‘Maybe I can use the training to practice being more open!’ she realized. Her hesitancy gave way to excitement. If she could do this she could show her growth to Gohin and Louis.\n\nKikuchiyo waited till the elevator door closed once it had and she saw the numbers light up she turned to Eliza. “Stage one accomplished,” she told her, “As of tomorrow I will be learning all I can from her.” she said.\n\nEliza nodded, “Good with her fighting techniques we can extend our reach even further than we have ever done.” she said, “I imagine it was quite a sight?” she asked.\n\nKikuchiyo nodded, “Indeed she was highly effective. I'm surprised by how much she was. I'm sure if we weren’t there she would’ve been even more effective.” she noted, “But we’ll see you come tomorrow.” she said.\n\n[b]-The Bus-[/b]\n\nThe bus driver stopped the bus and opened the door, in walked a small figure dressed entirely in black. He wore a mask showing a screaming face of a demon, in his hand a briefcase. His head completely covered in a black hood, he walked up to the driver and held up a fat stack of yen bills. He then went to the passengers who were tending to their wounds. “Impressive you did better than we expected, as agreed your payment.” said a masculine voice deep and powerful sounding. He placed the briefcase onto the ground and opened it inside were several stacks of yen. Four of the five coyotes smiled, the only one that didn’t was the one that had been stabbed.\n\nHe growled, “You didn’t mention the bitch was a psychopath we should be getting more fo-” but he stopped when the figure pulled a gun and aimed at his head.\n\nThe figure turned his head to the moaner, “I will remind you that the agreement we made is non-negotiable nor one that you should demand more from… unless you are willing to lay your life down for it.” he said.\n\nAnother coyote, stepped in front of the gun, “Please pay him no mind sir he does not speak for all of us, we will gladly take your money.” he said.\n\nThe figure lowered the gun and placed it behind his back, “Good now then gentlemen please enjoy your money, it is well deserved.” he said. He left the bus and the coyotes turned to each other, grinning happily for their money. Unaware that in the case was a surprise that would be the end of them a gas grenade that would cause them to experience hallucinations and eventually drive them insane eventually being put down for the good of the city.\n\n[b]-The Following Day-\n[/b]\n\nKyuu stood in a room at a gym that had been specially made for herbivores, Kikuchiyo had apparently paid for a room for them to use as they pleased. Kyuu felt that Kikuchiyo was trying to forcibly make her teach her though the rabbit said she just wanted to make sure that they could train with peace of mind. Kyuu however now felt she had to train Kikuchiyo for sure at the very least to repay the favor. She had objects set up, the first step to the training would be to see what they could do first in order to appropriately train them and give them techniques fitting their level. Once that was done she had to work out how to compensate for their weaknesses, what they needed to train and finally what techniques would work best for them.\n\nShe looked at the three, Kikuchiyo and Makoto were wearing a simple sports bra and gym pants combo while Jiro had what looked like a school’s gym uniform. Kikuchiyo, she was surprised to see, had quite the body without her normally thick fur. She had quite a slim body, and quite a large bust similar to Kyuu. She blushed as she looked at the bust, and as the shorts showed quite the large butt too. “So before we start I need to see exactly where you are athletically.” She said, “First a 40 yard dash, then a weight lift, and finally a 20 minute run.” She informed them.\n\nMakoto and Kikuchiyo nodded while Jiro scratched his head, “Do I have to?” He moaned.\n\nKyuu looked at him, “Yes, so I can determine the best method to train you, if I don’t have that information and just train you, you might end up suffering instead of benefitting from the training.” she explained. He sighed then nodded understanding her point.\n\n[b]-An Hour Later-[/b]\n\nKyuu now had a good idea of the capabilities of everyone. Makoto and Jiro were within her expectations, Maokoto had a run time of 8.89, could lift up to 80 pounds, and lasted 17 minutes on the 20 minute run. Jiro had a run time of 6.38, could only lif about 20 pounds, and lasted 5 minutes on the 20 minute run. To her surprise Kikuchiyo was extremely fit, in the 40 yard dash she scored a 4.59, lifted up to 50 pounds, and lasted the 20 minute run with minimal exhaustion. Kikuchiyo looked at Kyuu’s stunned face, “Oh did I forget to mention I work out every now and then?” She said.\n\nKyuu was surprised from what she knew of Kikuchiyo; she had never seen her be anything but super bubbly, though when she thought about it she had seen a treadmill in the rabbit’s room. Though she didn’t think that Kikuchiyo actually used it. “Well it’s good, anyway that gives me a good idea of the intensity of training. Next is the-” but Jiro groaned.\n\n“More tests?” came his incredulous response.\n\nKyuu sighed, “This is the last set for sure, it’s a 3 in 1 eye coordination, hand eye coordination and a reflex test.” She said she went to her pack and pulled out several tennis balls. “For this I’m going to say catch or dodge, when I say catch I need you to catch the ball, when I saw dodge you dodge it. However I will also say catch-dodge or dodge-catch or any combination you must react accordingly. There’s 30 balls, any balls you catch you must drop at your feet any dodged you ignore keep in mind as we go along I’ll be throwing faster and possibly many at once. So it’s up to you to decide what to do in those instances.” They all nodded, “Jiro you’re up first.” she said, and he stood forward while the other two stood aside.\n\nShe held up a tennis balls, “Catch!” and she threw the ball. It wasn't a hard throw but it was quite fast. He held up his hand and caught it, he then dropped it to his feet. “Dodge!” she said, and threw this time she threw it hard and he barely scooted out of the way. She nodded, “Dodge!” Again he avoided it much easier this time, “Catch-Dodge!” she threw 1 then another. The first ball was soft but the second ball was hard. He caught the first ball and just ducked the second. But he barely had time to drop it when she said, “Catch-Catch-Dodge-Catch!” she threw two balls harder than she had done her previous catch balls, and he caught one but the other was grazed by his fingertips, he ducked the third ball and caught the fourth. She kept this going till all 30 balls were thrown. Jiro was panting his fur slick with sweat. He had managed to dodge 10 balls, got hit by 7, caught 10 and nearly caught 3. Kyuu was sure now, he would benefit greatly from the rope technique, he had the ability he just needed to work on his stamina, and speed mostly.\n\nNext was Makoto, compared to Jiro she was much more clumsy but her size had it’s benefits, thanks to her huge hands she caught 14, dodging only 2, and getting hit 16 times. It was clear most of the techniques Kyuu knew would not benefit Makoto but she considered it similar to Legoshi Makoto’s huge size as a Flemish Giant could use more powerful techniques that Kyuu herself knew but could not pull off due to her size that she had seen Gohin use. However Maokoto’s speed was out of the question instead she would have to work on Makoto’s strong points. However she was more curious about Kikuchiyo considering how she had crushed the first test she expected her to also crush this so she was surprised when Kikuchiyo was… to put it politely all over the place. She overcommitted a lot either going for one ball and ending up getting hit by another or focusing entirely on dodging and not catching any other ball. It was clear that while she had intense focus she did not have the ability to process multiple tasks at once. She caught 10, got hit by 10 and dodged 10.\n\nNow that she had an idea on what to focus on for them she could plan out her schedule and workout plan. “Ok wait there I’ll write out your workout and fundamental curriculum once I’ve done that you will need to do these workouts when you have time. I’ll then work on each of you building up both your bodies and technique. I’ll teach you the basic techniques as I do so and when I feel you are ready the more advanced techniques will then be taught.” she explained.\n\nJiro was honestly surprised by how well Kyuu explained everything, with nothing to do though the 3 sat down and waited for her to write out everything. Jiro looked at Kikuchiyo, “You’re pretty good Kiku,” he said, “LIke I didn’t think you could totally wipe out the first test. When did you start training like that?” He asked.\n\nShe shrugged, “Oh my parent’s were avid believers in that a strong heart needed a strong body. Besides I’m not that strong, Makoto is much stronger than me by a long shot, I wish I could be stronger but well… this is the limit of my species.” she said. “If only there was a way to… be more to surpass my limits.” she said.\n\nJiro looked thoughtful, “What like hormones or steroid treatment? I guess it’d be possible if someone had the money, research and desire to look into it.” he said, “If such a thing was possible I’d like that to be more than what I am.” he said wistfully.\n\nMakoto listened then she spoke, “My mother told me an old fairytale long ago. When the gods formed all creatures they gave animals various gifts, the fox cunning, the hawk sharp talons, cats silent feet, weasels great speed, and on the wolf great teeth but the rabbits had no gifts save that of digging at first, till one the Prince of all Rabbits went to the surface and said ‘You have condemned my kind to a life of fear!’ a god spoke saying ‘Do you not wish to see what blessing I have for your people?’ in defiance and mockery the Prince responded, ‘To my bottom grant your blessings!’ but the god only said, ‘Very well grow a tail to confuse those chasing you, legs to outrun them, and ears to hear your enemies from miles aways. All the world will be your enemy, and when they catch you they will kill you… but first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, Prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people will never be destroyed.’ and so rabbits were granted the gift of flight, confusion and hearing. With this they survived and thrived.” she said.\n\nJiro and Kikuchiyo looked mystified, then Jiro spoke, “Cool story but uh… what’s the point?” he asked.\n\nShe smiled, “I still don’t fully understand it myself but my mom said, ‘The gift of running can be used to batter one’s enemies, our feet and legs are powerful, powerful enough to stomp the earth and crush it. Our tails can be used to allure our foes and make them succumb to their lustful instincts, and our ears can always show us where to go as they can hear more than just our enemies they can hear the very world itself. Should we ever squander these gifts we will become powerless, to summarize appreciate what we have because we can use these gifts in ways besides their initial purpose.” she said.\n\nKikuchiyo was silent as she thought on the words, [i]‘We can use these gifts in ways besides their initial purpose…’[/i] she had to admit she never thought of it like that… nor had they… perhaps it would be best if the test subject was not her but Kyuu, Kyuu had something that rabbits never had, the power and technique to fight back. The will to live had been there from the start but the power was something devoid of them… Kyuu however showed them that it was possible. She looked as Kyuu kept writing, [i]‘Yes… she would be the perfect specimen for stage 2.’[/i] she concluded… though as she watched Kyuu her eyes drifted down Kyuu’s body. So similar to hers, just less fluffy… those huge breasts bigger than her own… the fur coloring, she couldn’t deny it, she was… more than just enamored she was… in love with Kyuu. She loved her strength, her pride, and most importantly of all her honesty. So much different than… them, always concealing their true intentions despite her time with them never revealing anything, for Kyuu she told it as it is and didn’t care what her words did.\n\nShe saw Kyuu stand up and approach them and stopped daydreaming, she went to them and handed them the papers. “These are training regimen. If you keep up with these you should find yourselves ready enough for the real training. Keep this up for a week and you should be ready.” she said. She handed one to Jiro, Makoto and finally Kikuchiyo, they looked at the papers. Jiro saw that it was mostly exercises to increase stamina, but also to increase his reflexes and response time. Makoto saw her as mostly to increase her strength, as well as her leg strength. Finally Kikuchiyo was curious in that it just said ‘keep doing what you’re doing’ she raised an eyebrow and looked up at Kyuu. “Whatever you’re doing now is good enough, keep doing it. I think you’re ready to learn some techniques.” She said, “If you want to do it now or you wanna wait till later.” she said.\n\nKikuchiyo looked at Jiro and Makoto who looked somewhat shocked and envious. “Honestly might be best to do it later, it’s not like something major is gonna happen.” She said.\n\nKyuu nodded, “Ok so then you two let’s get your workout set.” she said and went to them to work out the intensity needed for their work out.\n\nKikuchiyo stood up, “I gotta make a call, mind if I step out for a bit?” she asked, Kyuu waved for her to go and she left going to her bag and grabbing it she walked out. She headed out of the building and into an alleyway. She then reached into her bag and after some unzipping of pockets pulled out a black pager. She pressed it, and she heard a responding ‘vrrrrrrt’ from the alleyway and a being stepped forth.\n\nShe turned to it, it was slightly taller than her and wore a black mask with red eyes and a smiling dark blue face. “What is it?” asked the figure their voice was warbly switching between male, female along with tone and pitch.\n\nShe lowered the beeper, “I have a request for the council, a change in the subject for stage 2.” she said.\n\nThe figure folded their arms, “Are you refusing the glory of perfection?” they asked.\n\nKikuchiyo shook her head, “No, I just know someone who would be a better candidate.” she said.\n\nThe figure was silent for several seconds then a new voice spoke. It was the same as the one in the elevator of the Burrow. “And who is this candidate?” asked the voice.\n\nShe looked at the building, “Kyuu-san, she is the best choice, she has the skills, will, and determination to best use the formula. She also has much more experience fighting than I do, she is a fighter, and her gene would be better suited for the breeding phase of Stage 2 she will make sure we have strong, capable rabbits for our forces.” A long pause.\n\nThe figure spoke in that warbling shifting voice, “They are deliberating. Do you realize what you say risks much if you are wrong?” it said, she just nodded that she was aware of what would happen if her decision ended up in disaster if she was wrong about letting an outsider be chosen for the plan.\n\nAfter several minutes the voice spoke, “Very well we will allow it but you must make the arrangements.” it said.\n\nThe figure began to walk back into the shadows, “I guess the golden child does get special privilege make sure you don’t screw this up.” they said as they vanished into the dark. Kikuchiyo looked back at the building and went inside her mind thinking of the best way for Kyuu to receive the formula.\n\n[b]-Two Weeks Later-[/b]\n\nKyuu stood in front of Jiro, Makoto and Kikuchiyo, it had been a week since they started training. Kyuu was surprised, pleasantly so, that Jiro and Makoto had stuck it out. She was very certain that Jiro at the least would crumble. But surprisingly he kept at it, and his skill had grown and with it his confidence in fact he was almost better at using the rope than she was. Makoto was solid as far as rabbits went, she was a mix of muscle and fat, she now had the strength to lift 100 pounds which as far as even her breed went was unheard of. Makoto had also learned some moves from sumo wrestlers, and had learned how to use her legs for explosive bursts of power. Kikuchiyo had not only learned how to multitask but under Kyuu’s tutelage had learned how to use knives and fighting techniques for her small size. Today however was a test to see just how far they had come.\n\nKyuu looked at Jiro “You ready?” She asked, he nodded and walked forward he grabbed the rope with a wooden weight at one end and a wooden dagger at the other. The two went to the middle of the room they had taken out for the session. She held a wooden dagger in one hand while the other had her own rope. She began to spin her rope, “Remember just do your best to subdue me as possible.” She said.\n\nJiro nodded, “Here goes.” he said and began to spin the rope from the blade end. As he did his body tensed as he tried to summon all his fighting spirit. He tried to imagine that he was playing a game online where he was fighting against other players. Nothing fired him up more than that.\n\nKyuu could see it, the image forming, she began to manifest her own Imaginary Chimera. Jiro could see it like he had seen it during his personal training with Kyuu.\n\nThe panda rabbit hybrid, according to Kyuu, though to him it looked more like a wolf. He remembered how seeing it made him soil himself again… but this time he was determined to face it. This determination would be the key factor. His own Chimera formed, a fusion between a Tiger and a Rabbit. His chimera was shirtless, with tiger stripe patterns, the long droopy ears reaching down to its waist, and in its hand was a large sword. It roared at Kyuu’s Chimera, who responded in kind.\n\nKyuu charged at him, Jiro lashed out with the balled end of the rope aiming for her feet. She jumped over it but met with his bladed end she held up her wooden knife only for the rope that had been thrown at her legs to come up and whip her back. She however kept going and her own rope lashed out. He did something she didn’t expect, he swirled his rope around it, caught her rope and pulled it closer to him. The rope was pulled from her grasp and she winced from the sensation of rope burn she let go to prevent any damage to her skin. JIro tightened his grip and then by a simple rolling motion he caused the rope to spin so that it enveloped her. Once it tightened around her body, he put his foot down on the rope, the tension causing the rope to pull her into the ground.\n\nKyuu struggled but without actual knives she was stuck, “That’s enough!” she said and Jiro relaxed releasing his grip on his weapon, he looked exhausted. He panted and felt sweat was forming under his fur…he also felt weak at the knees but also exhilarated beyond belief. During this brief session he was completely within a zone, much like in a game. So focused on the fight that he had lost all of his usual hesitancy and worries, all he felt was the desire to use all his tools and skills to the best of his abilities. The training had shown that he had exceptional control over objects in his hands especially rope he had an unusual knack in manipulating them this allowed him to make a rope move even after it’s been thrown. “You did… well, you did beyond well actually.” She said, “You can consider training to be over with, if you want, but don’t slack off I won’t train you again you know.” She informed him.\n\nJiro frowned, “Well uh… I’ll keep training then honestly it’s… well it’s a nice change of pace especially when things go bad.” He mentioned. “I could use more of your private training.” He said blushing\n\nKyuu smiled, while she was impressed with his growth it wasn’t enough for her to consider him more than just a friend… for now. She turned to Makoto, “You ready?” she asked.\n\nMakoto nodded and she went for a pair of leather gauntlets, they had a thick outer layer. Makoto had not just learned from Sumo Wrestlers and Kyuu, but also had learned under Gohin under Kyuu’s recommendation. Gohin had taught Makoto techniques that would fit her large body size as well as give her advice for training. He had taught her to use the large gauntlets she now used for a mix between defense and offense. Kyuu kept her knife and rope, Makoto got into a stance she leaned in forward and held her gauntlets up so that they hid the lower half of her face. She also began to move, swaying slightly her feet shifting as she did, Kyuu spun her rope ready to attack. Kyuu was caught in the chest, however that wasn’t the end, the rope moved and snagged around Makoto’s neck it wrapped around and the balled end smacked Makoto. Makoto, unused to pain, went “Ow!” and backed off. Kyuu landed on the ground clutching her chest. The blow hurt, all the air was knocked out of her lungs completely.\n\nShe had let her view of Makoto’s kindness and gentleness affect her judgement of how strong Makoto’s blow would be. Makoto rubbed her head in pain then she saw Kyuu inhaling deeply to get the air back into her lungs. “Oh did I hit you too hard?” She asked.\n\nKyuu gasped then inhaled again and felt her body stop shaking, “Ah… a bit… but don’t let that stop you if you get attacked, predators will be much stronger than me and bigger so it’s best to hit them with all you got.” she advised. Makoto nodded, “Alright give me a bit to catch my breath.” she said.\n\nKikuchiyo nodded, and as Kyuu tried to steady herself, she began to think. ‘Everything is ready within a few weeks we’ll be hosting the reunion. That will be the best time to hit her with the serum. But for now I need to spar…’ she wondered how much of her true strength she should use in the sparring… the spar last week she held back slightly though Kyuu’s training had made her realize her shortcomings as well as strengthening what she already had.\n\nEventually Kyuu got up, her breathing regulated, “Ok Kikuchiyo you’re up.” she said.\n\nKikuchiyo stood and looked at the wooden weapon, she chose the second pair of wooden daggers and went to Kyuu who still had her dagger rope combo. Kyuu began to spin the rope ready to start, Kikuchiyo held up the daggers, one held forward the other in a reverse grip. She spread her legs out and assumed a stance: the normally held dagger held arms length forward while the reverse dagger was held behind also arms length. Kikuchiyo shifted her body, bouncing on her toes slightly.\n\nThe two stared at each other then they moved, Kyuu threw the rope forward and Kikuchiyo shifted to the side, and charged forward. Kyuu however slashed with her dagger and Kikuchiyo met with the dagger with her forward dagger. She then did an upward slash with her reverse dagger. Kyuu saw it and backed off. She pulled on her rope and it went back to her hand. She began to wrap it around her hand, till only a small amount of rope was left she charged again.\n\nShe swung the shortened rope at Kikuchiyo who knocked it aside with her front dagger and spun to the right her back dagger coming from Kyuu’s side. Kyuu used her knocked aside hand to block the dagger with her rope. She then pulled her leg up into a kick and Kikuchiyo put a hand up the foot hitting the hand. It made her jar to the side, reducing the damage but not negating it. Kyuu moved to press her advantage; she stabbed down where Kikuchiyo was, but Kikuchiyo rolled getting out of the way and she stood up facing Kyuu.\n\nThey stood there staring at each other, then Kikuchiyo moved. She ran toward Kyuu and when she was close enough she punched at Kyuu with the reverse knife. Kyuu met it with her roped hand but that was when Kikuchiyo thrust her knife forward. Kyuu met it with her own knife, the weapons clashing. They stood struggling against each other’s power, then Kikuchiyo did something Kyuu didn’t think she could do. She backflipped and her feet slammed into Kyuu’s chin sending her into the air. Kikuchiyo landed and stood there as Kyuu landed hard on the ground. Kyuu laid there staring at the ceiling then she got up. She rubbed her mouth with her arm and saw some blood on her fur.\n\nKikuchiyo dropped her knives and ran to Kyuu her face filled with worry, “Are you alright?” she asked.\n\nKyuu held up a hand, stopping the angora, “I’m fine.” she said, “Well looks like I can’t go easy on you anymore.” she said, “but that’s enough.” she said, she turned to Jiro and Makoto, “You three have learned what I can teach you. It’s up to you now if you want to keep training or stop.” she said, “Personally I’d keep going, you never know when you’d get attacked again.” she pointed out.\n\nJiro looked at Kyuu, “Well uh I’ll keep training it’s a nice way to blow off steam.” he said, “I wouldn’t mind if you oversaw that training…” he blushed, looking down, “E-Every now and th-then that is.” he said.\n\nMakoto looked at Kyuu, “Honestly I like the training and my folks are impressed with what I can do with it so much so they want me to teach them some as well.” She said.\n\nKyuu blinked, “Well uh… that’s uh… that’s good.” she said she was surprised she didn’t think they’d keep training. “Anyway that’s it from me I’ll see you later.” She said.\n\nKikuchiyo watched as Kyuu began gathering up all the training gear, she then walked up to Kyuu, “I can help with that.” she said.\n\nKyuu looked at her, “It’s fine I got it.” she assured her.\n\nThe Angora though was insistent, “Please let me help.” she said.\n\nKyuu sighed, and looked at Kikuchiyo, “Fine you can carry this.” she said, handing Kikuchiyo the bag full of wooden equipment. She grabbed it and hefted it over her shoulder. I don’t got any family. I’m asking as a friend.” she said.\n\nKyuu stopped and looked at Kikuchiyo, “You consider me a friend?” She asked.\n\nThe other rabbit nodded, “Yes, I considered us friends for a while now… and well…” she paused, she wanted to say it, she wanted to say how Kyuu was so much more to her than just a friend… ‘Remember the plan!’ a dark voice in her mind said, and she squashed her emotions for now, “I’d hate for my friend to not get to know my parents or my other friends.” she said.\n\nKyuu looked at her, then she looked down thinking, after a while she looked back up at Kikuchiyo Kyuu felt she could trust Kikuchiyo, “Ok I’ll go… uh… Kikuchiyo.” she said she felt strange saying her friend's name but knew that was respectful… and yet saying it made her heart flutter.\n\nKikuchiyo smiled, “You can call me Kiku or Chiyo if you want.” she said, “I don’t really like people saying my full name.” she explained.\n\nKyuu nodded, “Ok… Chiyo.” she said unaware of the blush on her face. “I’ll uh… I’ll see you later.” she said.\n\nKikuchiyo nodded, “Yeah see you later.” she said.\n\n[b]-A Week Later-[/b]\n\nKyuu stood away from the other rabbits, a week had passed by that time Jiro and Makoto kept training with Kyuu overseeing Jiro every now and then. However, now she was at this party that Kikuchiyo had invited her to. The party was in a large park that the owners of the Burrow had rented out for, the party had rides, bounce house, a mobile bar, several chefs handing out food, a DJ, and even a mobile gamer truck that Jiro was in right now playing with others. Of course Kyuu felt awkward as she had no family, though many had gone up to say hello to her. The male’s fur was groomed, and white in color, however he had a large bushy beard and his fur covered his right eye revealing his dark brown eye. The female also had well-groomed fur having a lighter brown color and fur covering her right eye showing her left which was black in color. It was clear these were her parents.\n\nShe stood straight and nodded in welcome, Kikuchiyo walked up and gestured at the male rabbit, “This is my father Kanbei,” he curtsied slightly, “And my mother Hanabi.” she gestured to the female rabbit who held out a hand in welcome. Kyuu took it and shook it.\n\nHanabi looked at Kyuu, “So you’re the rabbit my daughter is so enamored with she just gushes on and on about how incredible you are and how she wishes she could be as strong as you.” she said.\n\nKikuchiyo blushed, “Mother!” she said sharply.\n\nKanbei chuckled, “Oh please honey don’t embarrass her in front of her friend.” he said.\n\nHahabi pouted, “Well I think it’s adorable, my daughter has never talked so much about one animal till now.” she huffed.\n\nKyuu felt her cheeks get hot as she blushed, “Oh uh… please your daughter should have a better role model than me.” she said.\n\nKanbei looked at her, “Oh? When they had been found by rescue workers they found that only one sailor and had assumed the other had fallen off and drowned. However one day the tiger threw up after eating some food and they found the bones of the other sailor. To which he said, ‘he asked me to eat him because he had been hurt… I didn’t want to but when I saw his blood… and saw his pain… I could only think of ending it all for him.’ he ate his friend… and was found 2 days after doing so.” he said.\n\nKyuu was silent while Hanabi lightly slapped her husband's shoulder, “You know I don’t like that story.” she said scowling.\n\nHe smiled calmingly at his wife, “I’m sorry love but just wanted to show Kyuu that everybody might have done something they’re not proud of… in the name of survival that is.” he said.\n\nKyuu was silent, while what she had done wasn’t quite extreme… it was still quite bad… but hearing the story made her… not better but consider that others might have done just as bad or worse than her. Kyuu nodded, “Thank you Mr. Kanbei.” she said.\n\nHe nodded, “Come let us talk. I want to know a bit more about you.” he said.\n\nKyuu shrugged, “Not sure what I can say but alright.” she said and she followed the family to a table to talk. Suffice to say she didn’t think they’d be so entertained by her story, especially how she had been originally part of a meat market. Bonds are powerful as blood and that is what really makes a family, because true families are bonded to one another.” came her sage advice.\n\nKyuu thought about that, it was something she never considered. She looked at Hanabi, “Thank you… you’ve given me some things to think about.” she said.\n\nIn a tree a figure in black grabbed his rifle, and loaded the special shot in. A needle vial filled with a red liquid. He went to the branch and leaned in resting the butt of the rifle on his shoulder he aimed searching for his target. Once he found her he hovered his finger over the laser sight, while his other finger was on the trigger… all there was to do now was wait for the right moment.\n\nThe sun began to set and as it did the host of the event grabbed a mic and spoke, “Ladies and Gentlemen Family and Friends of the Burrow.” they all turned. There on the stage with the DJ was an older rabbit with thick brown and gray fur with an equally thick brown and gray beard. “Thank you for coming to the Family Reunion Party, we at the Burrow hope you found your loved ones in good health and happy as we the Burrow exist so that all rabbits can be safe, comfortable and happy.” he said, “As always I Augustus Hardway promise that your loved ones will be in a safe, and tight knit community.” he said, “And as always if you want to come to the Burrow all you need to do is ask.” he said, “Enjoy your evening everyone.” he said. The sound of clapping sounded, it was almost deafening. Kyuu blinked, as she went to shine the light in her other eye. “Pupils are dilating, good.” She looked at the equipment checking everything, “Pulse is steady, blood pressure…” Kyuu stopped listening… she felt strange, she felt strong yet weak at the same time. She tried to sit up, but the doctor’s hand was on her chest, “Whoa hold on, before you can move I need to check and make sure you're fully conscious and lucid.” she said. It showed a model of the apartment along with the city around. According to this, each depth was about 10 feet below the surface meaning that Depth 3 was 30 feet below the surface.

As she looked at it a concern occurred to her, “Has there ever been any cave-ins or collapses?” she asked.

The receptionist's eyes widened, “A valid concern, no Warrens these days are built with the anti-earthquake, and cave in technology. Each depth is actually a huge metallic area specially treated to not only withstand high pressure, but also set in with stabilizers, and in extreme cases there are emergency exits that lead to the surface. Should you get an apartment you’ll get a special map showing these exits.” she explained.

Kyuu nodded, “Ok then I guess the next question is how much is rent?” She asked.

Eliza nodded, “Well rent is about 50,000 yen a month, an extra 5,000 for insurance, utilities are covered, as is waste but you must dump your waste before monday of the following week. Any other questions?” She asked.

Kyuu thought about it, “What can you tell me about the residents here?” she asked.

Eliza interlocked her hands together, “Well as much as any rabbit community is, it is generally a positive and tight knit group. We have special group parties and sessions for those who want some interaction. We even have birthday parties, if you wanted to celebrate that. Other than that everybody is eager to meet newcomers, show the best picks for groceries, activities you might be interested in and we even have counseling if you require it.” she elucidated.

Kyuu was surprised that a simple apartment complex had such services. “Ok so um how do I pay with cash or credit?” she asked.

Eliza straightened, “Your payment can be whatever you are most comfortable with. Cash credit doesn't matter. Just make sure it’s paid by the 3rd of every month. You will have a 2 day grace period allowing you to pay on the 5th if you can’t do it before then. You will incur a 200 yen Fee with every passing day after the 5th, understand?” she said her voice with a strong steely tone. Kyuu nodded, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a wallet, Louis was able to set her up with a debit card. She held it out to Eliza, “Good now then ID?” She asked. Kyuu also pulled it out, another gift from Louis and Gohin they had been able to get a lot of paperwork done for her, even getting her a health insurance card. She handed that to Eliza, Eliza took it and looked at it, something flashed in her eyes for a brief second a look of joy but it was gone so quick Kyuu was sure she had imagined it.

Eliza entered everything, and then reached for a keypad to her right and swiped the card. A beeping and a confirming beep sounded. She then moved her mouse, clicked something, a humming as a printer came to life and began whirring as it printed out the paperwork, once it had fully printed the rabbit took the paper and fanned it slightly to dispel the heat. Then she laid it in front of Kyuu, “Alright sign here and you’ll become a resident of the Burrow.” she said and picking up a pen she placed it down next to the paper.

Kyuu looked at the paper, per Gohin and Louis’ lessons she checked every word carefully looking for any loopholes, or binding contracts hidden in the words… She spent a good minute reading through it and another minute re-reading it. She was so focused she never saw the look of admiration on Eliza’s face as Kyuu read it. Kyuu found no particular loopholes or things to watch for that Louis and Gohin had taught her to look for. So she signed it as was taught to her, and handed the paper back, Eliza’s face went back into its bland expression. She took the paper and looked at the signature, “Good I’ll send this to the landlord, when would you like to move in?” she asked.

Kyuu thought about it, she didn’t have much just her bed, and some personal effects, “Can I move in now and bring my stuff tomorrow?” she asked.

Eliza nodded, “Of course, whenever you wish,” she then slid back and went to a wall where a metallic wall box was. She pressed her hand on a pad which scanned her hand and the box opened revealing a wall of keys. Kyuu noted that there were quite a few empty hooks there were still quite a few keys still on, each key ring had 2 keys attached to it. It looked to be well over 100 hooks, Eliza grabbed one on the third row up and as she stepped back the wallbox closed and she walked from the desk. “Follow me.” she said and Kyuu did so. She walked to the side where an elevator was, and to the right and left of the elevator were openings, the opening on the right had a street tar flooring, while the one on the left had a dirt flooring. “These are the other ways to go down the Burrow. Both can allow for both running or biking. The dirt ground is for those who want that more authentic running experience while the other is for those who prefer the more modern feel.” she explained. “But if you wanna bypass that, the elevator is right here.” she concluded.

She pressed the singular down button, and the elevator opened, Kyuu saw it was quite a large elevator more than likely to fit in large amounts of rabbits at once. She walked in behind Eliza and saw that the weight limit went up to 6,000 pounds. Allowing it to carry a large amount of bunnies as well as allow guests… provided they weren’t an elephant. Eliza pressed the button marked D-3 and the doors closed. The elevator hummed as it went down, despite the humming the ride was smooth. Kyuu felt none of the sudden jolt of descent; it was also quite fast within about 15 seconds they were at Depth 3. The door opened to a large corridor, with many doors but as Kyuu looked around she it wasn’t the only corridor there were 3 others, each one going north east and south, and from what she saw each corridor had 25 apartment rooms in each of them. Totalling to 100 rooms on one depth. Eliza headed for the East Corridor and walked to a room that read 368. “This is your apartment, would you like for me to give you a tour?” she asked. Kyuu looked at the door, it was quite large and even had 3 separate door handles of varying heights but only one lock on it which was next to the door handle on their height level.

Kyuu shrugged, “Sure why not.” she said. Eliza inserted the key into the lock and turned to the right, it clicked open she then pulled it out and shifted to the second key and inserted into the keyhole below the handle. Eliza handed it to Kyuu and Kyuu saw that the key’s were numbered 1 and 2.

Eliza pointed to the lock, “This is for the first key,” she said, then at the keyhole, “For the second key.” Kyuu nodded in understanding and Eliza turned the door handle and pushed it open. Only the door of their height opened while the other doors remained still. “As you might have guessed the other doors are for guests you might have of larger stature than you. However they cannot open it till you come inside and unlock the lock for that door handle, which can only be unlocked from inside. This is to prevent unwanted guests.” she explained. Kyuu was impressed by the level of thought gone into the security despite how simplistic it looked. She followed Eliza in and was surprised with how big the apartment was. From what she had seen it was slightly larger than the usual apartment, and had as much room as a small house.

Complete with separate kitchens, living room, bathing area, bedrooms, and dining room. It was impressive. Eliza explained each room, the alarm system, the intercom, and the heating/AC system. Kyuu listened carefully and when i was done she looked at Eliza, “Much bigger than I was expecting.” she said.

Eliza smiled, “We are very well funded, so we might as well use that funding for maximum comfort.” she elucidated.

Kyuu nodded, it made sense, “I see well… thanks…,” she said and went to the bedroom which already had a bed on it. She went onto the bed and was surprised by how soft and comfortable it was. “Wow, so soft.” she said, Eliza was leaving. Kyuu let her go laying on her back and staring at the ceiling. “So this is my new home…” she said. “I guess I gotta meet the neighbors one day but probably tomorrow not today.” she said and getting up she went to organize the place a bit.

Outside Eliza was at the elevator, she entered it and when it opened she went to the buttons and lowered her head to the bottom most button and pressed it. The button trilled as it scanned her thumb, then it slid to the side revealing an eye scanning device. She let it scan her eye, and an affirmative beeping sounded. Eliza stood up as the button slid back in. The elevator lights turned off and a voice spoke, “Eliza?” Came a voice masked with a voice changer, “Has she finally come?” it asked.

Eliza smiled, “Yes my lord she is finally here. Kyuu… is here.” she said.

A chuckle sounded, “Good, all we need to do now is wait and see. See if she truly has the skill needed for us rabbits to be strong.” it said, “Make sure she gets everything she needs. We will inform the others of her arrival.” it said.

Eliza’s smile vanished, “It would be best my lord if you did not push interaction onto her, from what I saw she is extremely shrewd and suspicious, if we force her into this I doubt she will join us wholeheartedly.” she advised.

“Hmmm… very well we’ll have minimal visitors for her then, keep up the good work Eliza.” it said and the elevator lights turned on again. She pressed the G floor button and smiled, everything was going according to plan… for now.

-The Next day-

Kyuu walked to the Burrow, behind her was Louis and Gohin, who were carrying some things she had along with 2 horses who were carrying large boxes. It was stuff she had bought that they had advised her would be good for her. Gohin and Louis looked at the Burrow, they were silent but when Kyuu had told them about getting an apartment there they both had looked it up. What they found was very simplistic and to the point… it was also highly rated in the rabbit community. They had a flicker of suspicion but ultimately they decided to drop it for now. Kyuu walked up to the building and it scanned her and the others. A voice spoke, “Resident Kyuu detected, with others.” Then a buzz, and a new voice spoke feminine.

“Kyuu are these companions of yours?” came the voice of Eliza.

Kyuu looked at them, “Yes, they are helping me move in.” she said.

A pause, “Very well we’ll let them in,” she said and there was a buzzing and the door opened. Kyuu walked in, Gohin and Louis noticing the hares. They were silent but they were alerted and well aware of the hare's dislike for major cities. At the table was Eliza, she gestured to the left of her desk, “The elevator is right there, please don’t exceed 6,000 pounds.” she said.

Kyuu led the moving crew to the elevator and the 5 entered it. The elevator jerked slightly but other than that they got in alright. Kyuu pressed the D-3 button and the elevator closed, the elevator hummed as it went down then 15 seconds later it stopped. In that brief time Louis used his vision to look around while not moving, using his inborn 300 degree vision. From what he saw he saw no hidden cameras that he was aware of, however what caught his attention was the bottommost button on the list of floors. When it opened Kyuu led them to her room, at her door was a rabbit, a rather chunky and stocky rabbit with long floppy ears, white with spots of brown fur judging from the clothing it was male. A Holland lop rabbit, the rabbit turned, “Ah hello there.” The rabbit said, his voice was deep and slightly scratchy, “I’m a neighbor of yours, my name is Harper.” He walked up to her hand held out in welcome, she didn’t take it. “Hmmm alright, not one for contact.” he said.

Gohin said, “It’s not that she’s just not used to conversing or interacting with others, she has a… troubled past to say the least.” he explained.

Harper nodded, “Ahhh understandable we have a few like that too.” he said, “Well just wanted to say hello.” He said and he walked to a door at the end walking inside it.

Kyuu went to her own door unlocking both locks and going in to open the larger doors. The doors opened and Gohin and Louis walked in with the horses right behind him. Gohin and Louis looked around, then placed the stuff they had in the appropriate places. The horses put down their own boxes and Louis volunteered to guide them out.

When the door was closed Gohin turned to Kyuu, “So this is your place huh?” He said.

Kyuu shrugged, “Yeah it is, I couldn't find any other place.” she said, “All the places you suggested said they don’t allow smaller herbivores anymore.” she explained.

He was silent as he thought, ‘Strange, all the other places I mentioned allowed for smaller herbivores at the time… why the sudden change of mind?’ he couldn’t help but wonder. “Well it looks like a good place, you could do with being with your own kind.” he said, “Just be open and you’ll make friends.” She looked down, “What’s wrong?” He asked.

Kyuu looked up at him, “I dunno… I’m not good with… ‘friends’ I mean what happened with Legoshi and Melon… I don’t think I deserve friends.” she said.

Gohin knelt down and placed a hand on her shoulder, “Legoshi is fine, Melon’s arrested and things have changed. It’s true you betrayed him but he doesn’t mind he understands that society is brutal and cutthroat you gotta look out for yourself. But if you really want forgiveness, start by being open, being ready to help others in bad times, while also looking out for yourself ok?” She nodded and looked up at him.

As she did she felt the feelings she had denied to Legoshi rising up the one he said when he said she was in love with Gohin. She looked at him wanting to say it… then she remembered that he was a married man with a son. She sighed, “I’ll try.” she said.

He smiled and rubbed her head, “You’ll be ok you’re strong.” he said, “Just don’t lose your edge and you’ll be fine.” he said. A knock on the door and Gohin went to the door, opening it to show Louis at the door.

He walked in, and looked at Kyuu “So you looking for a job?” he asked.

She nodded, “Sure so long as it’s something very active.” she said, “I don’t want to be behind a desk writing nonsense.” She said.

Gohin folded his arms over his chest, “Well probably a transportation service where they transport goods?” he suggested.

Kyuu thought on that, “Sure that’d be fine.” she agreed.

Louis nodded, “Ok I can probably get that set up, we are expanding to transporting stores for smaller herbivores.” he said, “And here.” he said, going to one of the bags he had bought. He reached in and pulled out a cellphone. “I got a provider for you, the payment is about 40,000 yen per month. I even put mine and Gohin’s numbers in if you wanna call us.” he said. “Keep it on hand I’ll call you about the job when I can.” he said, she nodded, Louis and Gohin looked at each other, “Time to go.” he said, and the two left, then he stopped and turned to Kyuu, “Remember you’re not alone anymore.” he said and then they left.

Kyuu blinked then smiled, “Yeah I know.” she said.

Outside the Burrow both Louis and Gohin looked at the apartment, Louis spoke first, “I don’t know why but that place gives me a sinister feeling about it.” he said.

Gohin nodded, “Yeah that place gives off some really bad vibes. What’s confusing is what she told me that all the other places I suggested to her stopped taking in smaller herbivores.” he said.

Louis looked at the panda, “Really? Mind giving me the name of those apartments?” He asked.

Gohin nodded, “No problem but let’s talk about that somewhere else.” he said, Louis nodded in agreement and they left. Neither realizing that in an alley, a rabbit shaped figure lurked completely dressed in black blending in with the alley’s darkness.

They reached for the base of their ear, “Sir they have left should we pursue them?” said a masculine voice.

“No, leave them be, make sure that the other Landlords are watched, do not kill them but remind them of their agreement with us.” said a strong voice.

A nod from the rabbit, “Understood.” and they sank back into the shadows.

-3 Months Later-

Kyuu was in her apartment reading a magazine, Louis had been elected as the new Sublime Beastar. Using his new influence he had created the Herbivore Protection Force the HPF, where large and strong herbivores were assembled to help prevent predator attacks. The force had horses, elephants, deers, bison, bulls, and, bizarrely enough, mice. Apparently the force was already making great strides, having stopped some predator attacks and sent them to a special hospital for rehabilitation. Speaking of Gohin’s practice had greatly expanded now, having several staff, mostly panda’s, to assist with the rehabilitations. As for Legoshi, last she heard he was gonna marry Haru but no wedding date had been set. She heard a knock at the door and setting the magazine down she got up, and went to the door she looked at the peephole and saw several rabbits.

A female angora, a female giant, and a male lop, she knew these rabbits. She opened the door, “Hey what’s up?” she asked.

The angora was a peculiar rabbit, ner name was Kikuchiyo. She had large amounts of fur growing from the exposed parts of her body. She had light cream colored fur, small brown eyes that she had in a closed squint, and a bright pink nose. Her fur made her look much bigger than she actually was. Not to say she was lacking, in fact her assets were on par with Kyuu’s, though her breasts were slightly bigger not that Kyuu compared. She was rather bubbly, at first she annoyed Kyuu but over the months Kyuu began to appreciate her rather positive outlook and would often frequent her whenever she was feeling down. It didn’t hurt that she was a surprisingly good cook, and she made a living off her own fur selling it as wool she even knitted some herself to make caps and socks for herself and her neighbors.

The female giant rabbit was Makoto, she was a huge rabbit, not as large as the hares guarding the entrance but still larger than most of the other rabbits in the burrow. She was a gentle giant, quiet, and observant. She had light brown fur, fur covering her eyes, and large ears that she often had tied back like a ponytail. According to her it didn’t hurt nor did it affect her hearing. She worked at a store specifically designed for rabbit goods, selling freshly grown farm crops from the countryside, and also selling special products made from them. She often helped Kyuu with heavy objects and helped her with reading and writing.

The lop was Jiro, he had white fur with black spots, he was slightly taller than Kyuu but had much larger ears, his ears almost reaching his knee. He had black eyes, which when combined with two of the black spots were around his eyes; it effectively hid his eyes in a sea of black. Jiro was a computer guy who worked as an I.T. and helped Kyuu understand computers, phones and various other electronic devices. While Kyuu was thankful for the help she was quite certain he was attracted to her. As for how Kyuu felt, well she wasn’t really attracted to him, while he was useful with machines she saw him both as a weakling and a fraidy cat. If she wanted a man she would want one that could put his foot down and not back down after doing so. She looked at the three, “What’s going on?” She asked, somewhat suspicious of their gathering.

Kikuchiyo smiled, “Hey Kyuu we were gonna go shopping and were wondering if you wanted to join us.” She announced.

Kyuu was silent for a few seconds as she thought about it, Gohin had advised her to be more active in making friends… and these three were the closest she could call friends. After a few more seconds she nodded, “Ok lemme get dressed.” she said and the other three nodded. Kyuu closed the door, and within a minute Kyuu was out wearing her usual red sports clothing with a sports bag over her shoulder. “Let’s go.” she said.

The four left the Burrow heading for the mall. They took public transportation to get there and spent several hours shopping with the other three showing Kyuu items to purchase and helping her understand the appeal as best they could. Kyuu herself was surprised that such a large building had so many stores it was dizzying. But she bought items she felt would be useful as well as nice to have.

When they had left, Kyuu's sports bag was bulging with her purchases. Kikuchiyo had bought so much stuff that Makoto was carrying it. Makoto by comparison didn’t buy much, mostly food and Jiro had bought some video games. “That was great.” Kikuchiyo said.

Kyuu smiled slightly, “It was… nice…” she admitted, she looked at them as they talked to each other and she saw how happy they were. She felt… like she belonged, ‘This is what it means to have friends isn’t it?’ she thought.

The bus arrived and the four got on it, as they sat down Kyuu noticed a group approaching the bus. A 5 beast pack of coyotes, she reached into her bag with one hand while the other hand reached for the knife in her ear. They got on the bus and went to the back leering at the bunnies as they walked past. Makoto and Jiro cowered while Kikuchiyo shifted nervously. It was then that Kyuu noticed the bus driver was also a coyote, she felt a sense of danger. But she lowered her hand near her ear but kept the other solely in her bag ready just in case. The bus began to drive the inside lights dimming, combined with the fading sun it gave the bus a reddish hue not unlike blood. As the bus drove Kyuu glanced at the windows and she saw the familiar buildings of the route. But she didn’t relax, which turned out to be the correct action.

One of the coyotes got up and he walked up to Kyuu. He tapped her shoulder and she turned to face him, “What’s the matter little bun-bun? Scared of some mangy coyotes?” he growled. She narrowed her eyes at him “Wow, who knew a bun-bun could make such a scary face.” Kyuu’s eyes narrowed even more. She didn’t know it but she was releasing her imaginary chimera just with this glare alone. Her hatred for carnivores had devolved into a strong dislike, this however was formed from a desire to protect her companions. He backed off as his eyes saw the image of that beast emanating from this tiny bunny. It was then that one of the coyotes threw a can at him.

He snapped out of his trance and glared at his friend who shouted, “Don’t be a pussy!” they said.

The coyote growled, then turned to Kyuu, “How about you and me go someplace private and you show me if those are real or not.” he said, his finger poking her chest.

Kyuu turned away and made a motion to pull her ear back when in reality she was getting ready to pull it out. “Take a hike.” she said.

The Coyote barked, “Shut up you stupid bunny and come with-” he reached for her. A mistake for sure, Kyuu reached for her knife and pulled it out, with a single motion she gave a quick stab to the back of his hand and then pulled out her rope and leapt off her seat into the more open part of the bus. It was so fast that the coyote was unaware she had jumped off when the pain filled his hand, he looked at it and saw the stab wound, while not muscle deep it was enough that blood spurted out like a fountain. “Gyahhhh!” he shrieked, “The fucking bitch stabbed me!” he shouted. The other coyote got up and charged her, she began spinning her rope, and her imaginary chimera was now visible to all, even to her bunny comrades.

The coyote faltered, “What the hell is that?” one said, Kyuu struck, she swung her rope at him the rope coiled around his neck and she pulled he came down snout first hitting the floor and roaring with pain as the flesh split from the impact. He rolled around the floor grasping his bloody nose. The others looked at him in shock when Kyuu hopped at one, using what remained of her rope to wrap around another Coyote’s neck and stabbing into his shoulder muscle with her knife while pulling back on the combination of lack of oxygen and blood loss causing him to lose consciousness in seconds. She didn’t rest though, grabbing her second knife she hopped up as the coyotes realized she was close and swung their fists to punch her. Only to swing at empty air as she jumped up and kicked at one with her feet and used the propulsion to headbutt another. The kicked coyote slammed into the window cracking it and causing him to drop to the ground grasping his ribs. The other hit a chair, the back of his head hitting the headrest and he fell unconscious, slumping into the seat.

With four down she turned to the fifth and saw him grabbing Jiro and holding a knife to his face, the arm jerking about wildly, “S-Stay back!” the coyote stammere. “I-I’ll slice off his precious ears!” he stammered his eyes wild with panic. Kyuu held her hands up in surrender, “Drop the knives!” he ordered. She moved slowly, gently putting her knives onto the ground, but as she did she saw Kikuchiyo getting up with a bag in hand. However the bag crinkled and the coyote turned to face the sound. Kyuu grabbed her knives and threw one at the coyote’s hand.

Her aim was true,  hitting the wrist, the coyote howled and dropped Jiro, Kyuu jumped up and stabbed his side, he screamed with pain only to be shut up as Kyuu hit him with a spinning elbow into the back of his head. Unconsciousness was immediate and he fell to the ground joining his moaning friends. Kyuu went to each one and hit them with the butt of her knives to make sure they were all unconscious. When she confirmed they were all knocked out she carefully put her knives back into her ears, undid her rope from them and turned to see the three rabbits staring at her in amazement. Though Jiro’s pants were certainly soiled. “What?” She asked.

Makoto got her voice back first, “That was amazing! You took them out so easily!” she said.

Kyuu felt herself flush with embarrassment, “Well not easy I just was lucky.” she dismissed.

But Kikuchiyo walked up, “No, that was incredible! C-Could you teach me?” she asked.

Kyuu looked at Kikuchiyo, her eyes wide with awe and reverence… she felt a fluttering in her chest like her heart was beating two times in a row. “Uhh I can't, it's not for everyone and you’d need to train really, really, really, hard to do what I did.” she said. They were jerked by the bus stopping, and turned to see the street leading to the Burrow. Gathering their stuff they got off Kyuu thought that the talk of training was over.

Kikuchiyo however was unwilling to give up, “Kyuu I’m serious please train us!” she said. Kyuu lowered her head as she walked, her feet automatically taking her home.

Makoto walked up, “I’d like to learn as well. I might not have the speed but surely you must have something I can use.” she said.

Jiro looked nervous, “Um your rope technique looked interesting, also doesn’t it hurt hiding those in your ears?” he asked.

Kyuu looked at the three of them… it was like Legoshi all over again… except they were all rabbits just like her. She had to make sure they had the proper motivation, “Why do you all even want to learn how to fight?” She asked.

Kikuchiyo backed away slightly, “Well the thing is I’ve always been afraid whenever I go out on my own even when I’m working I’m afraid a carnivore might eat me. Even with the HPF around I still fear for my life.” she said.

Makoto nodded, “Yes even with how big I am tigers and lions look at me like they want to just gobble me in one mouthful.” she said. “Also I want to show others my size isn’t just for show.” she said.

Jiro rubbed the back of his neck, “I don’t like going out too much cause I lack the confidence to do so… but maybe if I train with you I can be more confident in myself enough to go outside.” he added in.

Kyuu sighed as they got to the street with the Burrow down it, she thought on it… then inhaled deeply, “If you really want to do it we can start tomorrow ok, but know this the training is gonna be hard, and it’s not for the weak of mind, heart or body.” she said.

Kikuchiyo nodded, “I understand I’ll do my very best!” she said, Makoto and Jiro nodding in agreement. They were at the Burrow doors, which scanned them and let them in, “I gotta talk with Eliza take care you three.” she said. Kyuu nodded and with Jiro and Makoto they went down to their apartments to relax. Kyuu looked as she turned to press the button to her floor while Jiro took the path not wanting the smell of urine to fill the elevator. She saw Kikuchiyo and Eliza talking quite animatedly as if they were good friends. She hoped one day she could do that… to do that she would have to be even more open than she currently was. ‘Maybe I can use the training to practice being more open!’ she realized. Her hesitancy gave way to excitement. If she could do this she could show her growth to Gohin and Louis.

Kikuchiyo waited till the elevator door closed once it had and she saw the numbers light up she turned to Eliza. “Stage one accomplished,” she told her, “As of tomorrow I will be learning all I can from her.” she said.

Eliza nodded, “Good with her fighting techniques we can extend our reach even further than we have ever done.” she said, “I imagine it was quite a sight?” she asked.

Kikuchiyo nodded, “Indeed she was highly effective. I'm surprised by how much she was. I'm sure if we weren’t there she would’ve been even more effective.” she noted, “But we’ll see you come tomorrow.” she said.

-The Bus-

The bus driver stopped the bus and opened the door, in walked a small figure dressed entirely in black. He wore a mask showing a screaming face of a demon, in his hand a briefcase. His head completely covered in a black hood, he walked up to the driver and held up a fat stack of yen bills. He then went to the passengers who were tending to their wounds. “Impressive you did better than we expected, as agreed your payment.” said a masculine voice deep and powerful sounding. He placed the briefcase onto the ground and opened it inside were several stacks of yen. Four of the five coyotes smiled, the only one that didn’t was the one that had been stabbed.

He growled, “You didn’t mention the bitch was a psychopath we should be getting more fo-” but he stopped when the figure pulled a gun and aimed at his head.

The figure turned his head to the moaner, “I will remind you that the agreement we made is non-negotiable nor one that you should demand more from… unless you are willing to lay your life down for it.” he said.

Another coyote, stepped in front of the gun, “Please pay him no mind sir he does not speak for all of us, we will gladly take your money.” he said.

The figure lowered the gun and placed it behind his back, “Good now then gentlemen please enjoy your money, it is well deserved.” he said. He left the bus and the coyotes turned to each other, grinning happily for their money. Unaware that in the case was a surprise that would be the end of them a gas grenade that would cause them to experience hallucinations and eventually drive them insane eventually being put down for the good of the city.

-The Following Day-


Kyuu stood in a room at a gym that had been specially made for herbivores, Kikuchiyo had apparently paid for a room for them to use as they pleased. Kyuu felt that Kikuchiyo was trying to forcibly make her teach her though the rabbit said she just wanted to make sure that they could train with peace of mind. Kyuu however now felt she had to train Kikuchiyo for sure at the very least to repay the favor. She had objects set up, the first step to the training would be to see what they could do first in order to appropriately train them and give them techniques fitting their level. Once that was done she had to work out how to compensate for their weaknesses, what they needed to train and finally what techniques would work best for them.

She looked at the three, Kikuchiyo and Makoto were wearing a simple sports bra and gym pants combo while Jiro had what looked like a school’s gym uniform. Kikuchiyo, she was surprised to see, had quite the body without her normally thick fur. She had quite a slim body, and quite a large bust similar to Kyuu. She blushed as she looked at the bust, and as the shorts showed quite the large butt too. “So before we start I need to see exactly where you are athletically.” She said, “First a 40 yard dash, then a weight lift, and finally a 20 minute run.” She informed them.

Makoto and Kikuchiyo nodded while Jiro scratched his head, “Do I have to?” He moaned.

Kyuu looked at him, “Yes, so I can determine the best method to train you, if I don’t have that information and just train you, you might end up suffering instead of benefitting from the training.” she explained. He sighed then nodded understanding her point.

-An Hour Later-

Kyuu now had a good idea of the capabilities of everyone. Makoto and Jiro were within her expectations, Maokoto had a run time of 8.89, could lift up to 80 pounds, and lasted 17 minutes on the 20 minute run. Jiro had a run time of 6.38, could only lif about 20 pounds, and lasted 5 minutes on the 20 minute run. To her surprise Kikuchiyo was extremely fit, in the 40 yard dash she scored a 4.59, lifted up to 50 pounds, and lasted the 20 minute run with minimal exhaustion. Kikuchiyo looked at Kyuu’s stunned face, “Oh did I forget to mention I work out every now and then?” She said.

Kyuu was surprised from what she knew of Kikuchiyo; she had never seen her be anything but super bubbly, though when she thought about it she had seen a treadmill in the rabbit’s room. Though she didn’t think that Kikuchiyo actually used it. “Well it’s good, anyway that gives me a good idea of the intensity of training. Next is the-” but Jiro groaned.

“More tests?” came his incredulous response.

Kyuu sighed, “This is the last set for sure, it’s a 3 in 1 eye coordination, hand eye coordination and a reflex test.” She said she went to her pack and pulled out several tennis balls. “For this I’m going to say catch or dodge, when I say catch I need you to catch the ball, when I saw dodge you dodge it. However I will also say catch-dodge or dodge-catch or any combination you must react accordingly. There’s 30 balls, any balls you catch you must drop at your feet any dodged you ignore keep in mind as we go along I’ll be throwing faster and possibly many at once. So it’s up to you to decide what to do in those instances.” They all nodded, “Jiro you’re up first.” she said, and he stood forward while the other two stood aside.

She held up a tennis balls, “Catch!” and she threw the ball. It wasn't a hard throw but it was quite fast. He held up his hand and caught it, he then dropped it to his feet. “Dodge!” she said, and threw this time she threw it hard and he barely scooted out of the way. She nodded, “Dodge!” Again he avoided it much easier this time, “Catch-Dodge!” she threw 1 then another. The first ball was soft but the second ball was hard. He caught the first ball and just ducked the second. But he barely had time to drop it when she said, “Catch-Catch-Dodge-Catch!” she threw two balls harder than she had done her previous catch balls, and he caught one but the other was grazed by his fingertips, he ducked the third ball and caught the fourth. She kept this going till all 30 balls were thrown. Jiro was panting his fur slick with sweat. He had managed to dodge 10 balls, got hit by 7, caught 10 and nearly caught 3. Kyuu was sure now, he would benefit greatly from the rope technique, he had the ability he just needed to work on his stamina, and speed mostly.

Next was Makoto, compared to Jiro she was much more clumsy but her size had it’s benefits, thanks to her huge hands she caught 14, dodging only 2, and getting hit 16 times. It was clear most of the techniques Kyuu knew would not benefit Makoto but she considered it similar to Legoshi Makoto’s huge size as a Flemish Giant could use more powerful techniques that Kyuu herself knew but could not pull off due to her size that she had seen Gohin use. However Maokoto’s speed was out of the question instead she would have to work on Makoto’s strong points. However she was more curious about Kikuchiyo considering how she had crushed the first test she expected her to also crush this so she was surprised when Kikuchiyo was… to put it politely all over the place. She overcommitted a lot either going for one ball and ending up getting hit by another or focusing entirely on dodging and not catching any other ball. It was clear that while she had intense focus she did not have the ability to process multiple tasks at once. She caught 10, got hit by 10 and dodged 10.

Now that she had an idea on what to focus on for them she could plan out her schedule and workout plan. “Ok wait there I’ll write out your workout and fundamental curriculum once I’ve done that you will need to do these workouts when you have time. I’ll then work on each of you building up both your bodies and technique. I’ll teach you the basic techniques as I do so and when I feel you are ready the more advanced techniques will then be taught.” she explained.

Jiro was honestly surprised by how well Kyuu explained everything, with nothing to do though the 3 sat down and waited for her to write out everything. Jiro looked at Kikuchiyo, “You’re pretty good Kiku,” he said, “LIke I didn’t think you could totally wipe out the first test. When did you start training like that?” He asked.

She shrugged, “Oh my parent’s were avid believers in that a strong heart needed a strong body. Besides I’m not that strong, Makoto is much stronger than me by a long shot, I wish I could be stronger but well… this is the limit of my species.” she said. “If only there was a way to… be more to surpass my limits.” she said.

Jiro looked thoughtful, “What like hormones or steroid treatment? I guess it’d be possible if someone had the money, research and desire to look into it.” he said, “If such a thing was possible I’d like that to be more than what I am.” he said wistfully.

Makoto listened then she spoke, “My mother told me an old fairytale long ago. When the gods formed all creatures they gave animals various gifts, the fox cunning, the hawk sharp talons, cats silent feet, weasels great speed, and on the wolf great teeth but the rabbits had no gifts save that of digging at first, till one the Prince of all Rabbits went to the surface and said ‘You have condemned my kind to a life of fear!’ a god spoke saying ‘Do you not wish to see what blessing I have for your people?’ in defiance and mockery the Prince responded, ‘To my bottom grant your blessings!’ but the god only said, ‘Very well grow a tail to confuse those chasing you, legs to outrun them, and ears to hear your enemies from miles aways. All the world will be your enemy, and when they catch you they will kill you… but first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, Prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people will never be destroyed.’ and so rabbits were granted the gift of flight, confusion and hearing. With this they survived and thrived.” she said.

Jiro and Kikuchiyo looked mystified, then Jiro spoke, “Cool story but uh… what’s the point?” he asked.

She smiled, “I still don’t fully understand it myself but my mom said, ‘The gift of running can be used to batter one’s enemies, our feet and legs are powerful, powerful enough to stomp the earth and crush it. Our tails can be used to allure our foes and make them succumb to their lustful instincts, and our ears can always show us where to go as they can hear more than just our enemies they can hear the very world itself. Should we ever squander these gifts we will become powerless, to summarize appreciate what we have because we can use these gifts in ways besides their initial purpose.” she said.

Kikuchiyo was silent as she thought on the words, ‘We can use these gifts in ways besides their initial purpose…’ she had to admit she never thought of it like that… nor had they… perhaps it would be best if the test subject was not her but Kyuu, Kyuu had something that rabbits never had, the power and technique to fight back. The will to live had been there from the start but the power was something devoid of them… Kyuu however showed them that it was possible. She looked as Kyuu kept writing, ‘Yes… she would be the perfect specimen for stage 2.’ she concluded… though as she watched Kyuu her eyes drifted down Kyuu’s body. So similar to hers, just less fluffy… those huge breasts bigger than her own… the fur coloring, she couldn’t deny it, she was… more than just enamored she was… in love with Kyuu. She loved her strength, her pride, and most importantly of all her honesty. So much different than… them, always concealing their true intentions despite her time with them never revealing anything, for Kyuu she told it as it is and didn’t care what her words did.

She saw Kyuu stand up and approach them and stopped daydreaming, she went to them and handed them the papers. “These are training regimen. If you keep up with these you should find yourselves ready enough for the real training. Keep this up for a week and you should be ready.” she said. She handed one to Jiro, Makoto and finally Kikuchiyo, they looked at the papers. Jiro saw that it was mostly exercises to increase stamina, but also to increase his reflexes and response time. Makoto saw her as mostly to increase her strength, as well as her leg strength. Finally Kikuchiyo was curious in that it just said ‘keep doing what you’re doing’ she raised an eyebrow and looked up at Kyuu. “Whatever you’re doing now is good enough, keep doing it. I think you’re ready to learn some techniques.” She said, “If you want to do it now or you wanna wait till later.” she said.

Kikuchiyo looked at Jiro and Makoto who looked somewhat shocked and envious. “Honestly might be best to do it later, it’s not like something major is gonna happen.” She said.

Kyuu nodded, “Ok so then you two let’s get your workout set.” she said and went to them to work out the intensity needed for their work out.

Kikuchiyo stood up, “I gotta make a call, mind if I step out for a bit?” she asked, Kyuu waved for her to go and she left going to her bag and grabbing it she walked out. She headed out of the building and into an alleyway. She then reached into her bag and after some unzipping of pockets pulled out a black pager. She pressed it, and she heard a responding ‘vrrrrrrt’ from the alleyway and a being stepped forth.

She turned to it, it was slightly taller than her and wore a black mask with red eyes and a smiling dark blue face. “What is it?” asked the figure their voice was warbly switching between male, female along with tone and pitch.

She lowered the beeper, “I have a request for the council, a change in the subject for stage 2.” she said.

The figure folded their arms, “Are you refusing the glory of perfection?” they asked.

Kikuchiyo shook her head, “No, I just know someone who would be a better candidate.” she said.

The figure was silent for several seconds then a new voice spoke. It was the same as the one in the elevator of the Burrow. “And who is this candidate?” asked the voice.

She looked at the building, “Kyuu-san, she is the best choice, she has the skills, will, and determination to best use the formula. She also has much more experience fighting than I do, she is a fighter, and her gene would be better suited for the breeding phase of Stage 2 she will make sure we have strong, capable rabbits for our forces.” A long pause.

The figure spoke in that warbling shifting voice, “They are deliberating. Do you realize what you say risks much if you are wrong?” it said, she just nodded that she was aware of what would happen if her decision ended up in disaster if she was wrong about letting an outsider be chosen for the plan.

After several minutes the voice spoke, “Very well we will allow it but you must make the arrangements.” it said.

The figure began to walk back into the shadows, “I guess the golden child does get special privilege make sure you don’t screw this up.” they said as they vanished into the dark. Kikuchiyo looked back at the building and went inside her mind thinking of the best way for Kyuu to receive the formula.

-Two Weeks Later-

Kyuu stood in front of Jiro, Makoto and Kikuchiyo, it had been a week since they started training. Kyuu was surprised, pleasantly so, that Jiro and Makoto had stuck it out. She was very certain that Jiro at the least would crumble. But surprisingly he kept at it, and his skill had grown and with it his confidence in fact he was almost better at using the rope than she was. Makoto was solid as far as rabbits went, she was a mix of muscle and fat, she now had the strength to lift 100 pounds which as far as even her breed went was unheard of. Makoto had also learned some moves from sumo wrestlers, and had learned how to use her legs for explosive bursts of power. Kikuchiyo had not only learned how to multitask but under Kyuu’s tutelage had learned how to use knives and fighting techniques for her small size. Today however was a test to see just how far they had come.

Kyuu looked at Jiro “You ready?” She asked, he nodded and walked forward he grabbed the rope with a wooden weight at one end and a wooden dagger at the other. The two went to the middle of the room they had taken out for the session. She held a wooden dagger in one hand while the other had her own rope. She began to spin her rope, “Remember just do your best to subdue me as possible.” She said.

Jiro nodded, “Here goes.” he said and began to spin the rope from the blade end. As he did his body tensed as he tried to summon all his fighting spirit. He tried to imagine that he was playing a game online where he was fighting against other players. Nothing fired him up more than that.

Kyuu could see it, the image forming, she began to manifest her own Imaginary Chimera. Jiro could see it like he had seen it during his personal training with Kyuu.

The panda rabbit hybrid, according to Kyuu, though to him it looked more like a wolf. He remembered how seeing it made him soil himself again… but this time he was determined to face it. This determination would be the key factor. His own Chimera formed, a fusion between a Tiger and a Rabbit. His chimera was shirtless, with tiger stripe patterns, the long droopy ears reaching down to its waist, and in its hand was a large sword. It roared at Kyuu’s Chimera, who responded in kind.

Kyuu charged at him, Jiro lashed out with the balled end of the rope aiming for her feet. She jumped over it but met with his bladed end she held up her wooden knife only for the rope that had been thrown at her legs to come up and whip her back. She however kept going and her own rope lashed out. He did something she didn’t expect, he swirled his rope around it, caught her rope and pulled it closer to him. The rope was pulled from her grasp and she winced from the sensation of rope burn she let go to prevent any damage to her skin. JIro tightened his grip and then by a simple rolling motion he caused the rope to spin so that it enveloped her. Once it tightened around her body, he put his foot down on the rope, the tension causing the rope to pull her into the ground.

Kyuu struggled but without actual knives she was stuck, “That’s enough!” she said and Jiro relaxed releasing his grip on his weapon, he looked exhausted. He panted and felt sweat was forming under his fur…he also felt weak at the knees but also exhilarated beyond belief. During this brief session he was completely within a zone, much like in a game. So focused on the fight that he had lost all of his usual hesitancy and worries, all he felt was the desire to use all his tools and skills to the best of his abilities. The training had shown that he had exceptional control over objects in his hands especially rope he had an unusual knack in manipulating them this allowed him to make a rope move even after it’s been thrown. “You did… well, you did beyond well actually.” She said, “You can consider training to be over with, if you want, but don’t slack off I won’t train you again you know.” She informed him.

Jiro frowned, “Well uh… I’ll keep training then honestly it’s… well it’s a nice change of pace especially when things go bad.” He mentioned. “I could use more of your private training.” He said blushing

Kyuu smiled, while she was impressed with his growth it wasn’t enough for her to consider him more than just a friend… for now. She turned to Makoto, “You ready?” she asked.

Makoto nodded and she went for a pair of leather gauntlets, they had a thick outer layer. Makoto had not just learned from Sumo Wrestlers and Kyuu, but also had learned under Gohin under Kyuu’s recommendation. Gohin had taught Makoto techniques that would fit her large body size as well as give her advice for training. He had taught her to use the large gauntlets she now used for a mix between defense and offense. Kyuu kept her knife and rope, Makoto got into a stance she leaned in forward and held her gauntlets up so that they hid the lower half of her face. She also began to move, swaying slightly her feet shifting as she did, Kyuu spun her rope ready to attack. Makoto thought back to what Gohin had told her during training.

-12 days ago-

Gohin nodded, while Makoto stared in shock at the cinderblock that Gohin had told her to kick with, “You Flemish Giants are impressive indeed, your large bodies have caused you to develop powerful muscles especially your foot and leg muscles. Not only that but you are quite a heavy breed thanks to your muscles. That weight combined with your legs can turn you into quite a wrecking ball. While your species don’t have much in terms of long running stamina you do have that explosive start.” he pointed out.

She looked at him, “You think so?” She asked.

He nodded, “I have some old panda wrestling tapes, for them they focus entirely on explosive bursts of power, so I want you to watch them and maybe you’ll learn something.” he said.

-Present-

The videos and private lessons had been most helpful using that information; she was now a boulder of a rabbit… sort of. She didn’t have anywhere close to the mass to be a sumo wrestler and she was on the plump side rather than actually chunky. But for a rabbit she could be considered a sumo wrestler. Makoto began lowering her body so that it was perpendicular to the ground. Kyuu nodded, “Go!” she said and Makoto erupted forward, she flew toward Kyuu with surprising speed, like a bullet. Her powerful leg muscles give her incredible momentum.

Kyuu could only step aside in panic Makoto flew past her and Kyuu moved to attack only to be surprised by Makoto’s hand reaching out and touching the floor pivoting her so she was facing Kyuu. Shen then thrust her free hand forward in a sumo slap. Kyuu was caught in the chest, however that wasn’t the end, the rope moved and snagged around Makoto’s neck it wrapped around and the balled end smacked Makoto. Makoto, unused to pain, went “Ow!” and backed off. Kyuu landed on the ground clutching her chest. The blow hurt, all the air was knocked out of her lungs completely.

She had let her view of Makoto’s kindness and gentleness affect her judgement of how strong Makoto’s blow would be. Makoto rubbed her head in pain then she saw Kyuu inhaling deeply to get the air back into her lungs. “Oh did I hit you too hard?” She asked.

Kyuu gasped then inhaled again and felt her body stop shaking, “Ah… a bit… but don’t let that stop you if you get attacked, predators will be much stronger than me and bigger so it’s best to hit them with all you got.” she advised. Makoto nodded, “Alright give me a bit to catch my breath.” she said.

Kikuchiyo nodded, and as Kyuu tried to steady herself, she began to think. ‘Everything is ready within a few weeks we’ll be hosting the reunion. That will be the best time to hit her with the serum. But for now I need to spar…’ she wondered how much of her true strength she should use in the sparring… the spar last week she held back slightly though Kyuu’s training had made her realize her shortcomings as well as strengthening what she already had.

Eventually Kyuu got up, her breathing regulated, “Ok Kikuchiyo you’re up.” she said.

Kikuchiyo stood and looked at the wooden weapon, she chose the second pair of wooden daggers and went to Kyuu who still had her dagger rope combo. Kyuu began to spin the rope ready to start, Kikuchiyo held up the daggers, one held forward the other in a reverse grip. She spread her legs out and assumed a stance: the normally held dagger held arms length forward while the reverse dagger was held behind also arms length. Kikuchiyo shifted her body, bouncing on her toes slightly.

The two stared at each other then they moved, Kyuu threw the rope forward and Kikuchiyo shifted to the side, and charged forward. Kyuu however slashed with her dagger and Kikuchiyo met with the dagger with her forward dagger. She then did an upward slash with her reverse dagger. Kyuu saw it and backed off. She pulled on her rope and it went back to her hand. She began to wrap it around her hand, till only a small amount of rope was left she charged again.

She swung the shortened rope at Kikuchiyo who knocked it aside with her front dagger and spun to the right her back dagger coming from Kyuu’s side. Kyuu used her knocked aside hand to block the dagger with her rope. She then pulled her leg up into a kick and Kikuchiyo put a hand up the foot hitting the hand. It made her jar to the side, reducing the damage but not negating it. Kyuu moved to press her advantage; she stabbed down where Kikuchiyo was, but Kikuchiyo rolled getting out of the way and she stood up facing Kyuu.

They stood there staring at each other, then Kikuchiyo moved. She ran toward Kyuu and when she was close enough she punched at Kyuu with the reverse knife. Kyuu met it with her roped hand but that was when Kikuchiyo thrust her knife forward. Kyuu met it with her own knife, the weapons clashing. They stood struggling against each other’s power, then Kikuchiyo did something Kyuu didn’t think she could do. She backflipped and her feet slammed into Kyuu’s chin sending her into the air. Kikuchiyo landed and stood there as Kyuu landed hard on the ground. Kyuu laid there staring at the ceiling then she got up. She rubbed her mouth with her arm and saw some blood on her fur.

Kikuchiyo dropped her knives and ran to Kyuu her face filled with worry, “Are you alright?” she asked.

Kyuu held up a hand, stopping the angora, “I’m fine.” she said, “Well looks like I can’t go easy on you anymore.” she said, “but that’s enough.” she said, she turned to Jiro and Makoto, “You three have learned what I can teach you. It’s up to you now if you want to keep training or stop.” she said, “Personally I’d keep going, you never know when you’d get attacked again.” she pointed out.

Jiro looked at Kyuu, “Well uh I’ll keep training it’s a nice way to blow off steam.” he said, “I wouldn’t mind if you oversaw that training…” he blushed, looking down, “E-Every now and th-then that is.” he said.

Makoto looked at Kyuu, “Honestly I like the training and my folks are impressed with what I can do with it so much so they want me to teach them some as well.” She said.

Kyuu blinked, “Well uh… that’s uh… that’s good.” she said she was surprised she didn’t think they’d keep training. “Anyway that’s it from me I’ll see you later.” She said.

Kikuchiyo watched as Kyuu began gathering up all the training gear, she then walked up to Kyuu, “I can help with that.” she said.

Kyuu looked at her, “It’s fine I got it.” she assured her.

The Angora though was insistent, “Please let me help.” she said.

Kyuu sighed, and looked at Kikuchiyo, “Fine you can carry this.” she said, handing Kikuchiyo the bag full of wooden equipment. She grabbed it and hefted it over her shoulder. With that the pair left, Jiro watched them go.

He then looked at Makoto, “Does Chiyo have the hots for Kyuu?” he asked her.

She looked at him, “Maybe Chiyo, never really talks about romance so I have no idea what her preference is honestly.” she guessed.

Jiro frowned, lowered his head and scratched it in irritation, “And here I was thinking maybe I could get a girl in my life.” he said.

Makoto looked at him, “I mean does it have to be Kyuu? There are plenty of ladies out there… and some… close by.” she said, looking away at the last words.

Jiro looked at her, “Well if you’re inviting.” he said.

She looked at him smiling, “I am but let's split the bill huh?” She said, he nodded in response and the two readied to go out to eat.

-Kyuu and Kikuchiyo, Kyuu’s Apartment-

Kyuu got her keys out while Kikuchiyo set down the bag she had, she watched Kyuu then cleared her throat, “Hey Kyuu?” she asked. A grunt, “Sorry about sparring.” she said.

But Kyuu shook her head, “It’s fine, I’ll be honest I didn’t expect that I guess your acrobatic training helped out.” she said. “Honestly I should probably do some of that myself.” she said.

Kikuchiyo frowned, “Well I can teach you if you want but uh… listen next week there’s a party we host so that the residents can talk and interact with their family.” she began. Kyuu inserted her key into the lock, “It’s good to meet the family of friends and also have some physical contact with each other.” she continued, “I’ve been wondering maybe you’d like to come to the party?” she asked.

Kyuu opened her door, “Why? I don’t got any family. Besides I’m sure that this a rabbit only thing so I can’t invite my friends can I?” she asked.

Kikuchiyo nodded, “Yes sadly that is true unless they’re a rabbit too.” she said.

Kyuu frowned, “Then there’s even more reason I shouldn’t go,” she said she grabbed her bag of wooden weapons, “Thanks for the invite but-” she began but stopped when Kikuchiyo grabbed the bag strap.

Kikuchiyo had an imploring look on her face, “Please? I’m asking as a friend.” she said.

Kyuu stopped and looked at Kikuchiyo, “You consider me a friend?” She asked.

The other rabbit nodded, “Yes, I considered us friends for a while now… and well…” she paused, she wanted to say it, she wanted to say how Kyuu was so much more to her than just a friend… ‘Remember the plan!’ a dark voice in her mind said, and she squashed her emotions for now, “I’d hate for my friend to not get to know my parents or my other friends.” she said.
