"description": "Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yml3Gh0jVNM\n\nCan't blame the minister\nAnd you can't blame the preacher\nAnd you can't blame your brother\nAnd you cannot blame your sister\nCan't blame your friends\n'Cause today is the judgement day\nAnd that's why everyone have to pray\n\n--------\n\nFour years and two days ago the lockdown began. I drew this on 3/28/2020 and posted it to FA. This drawing was in reference to a meme that was circulating of an onlyfans girl who had the same text and emojis in the background striking a similar pose and expression. This was during the \"two weeks to flatten the curve\" and everyone at work (I was \"in person\" the entire time) had this pulled up on their monitors : https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ I deleted the artwork from FA shortly after. The future lockdown timeline became vague and merely asking the question \"when will lockdown end?\" was declared to be wrongthink (\"disinformation\") or even \"terror-ism\" by all mainstream social media simultaneously (a bannable offense). I had something to lose.\n\nI recall that youtube's recommended \"algorithm\" (which is hand-picked and curated more than it is automated, even today) had suddenly taken an extremely dark turn. Every recommended/autoplay video was about death, serious injury, disfigurement, disease, etc. It was at that time that I learned how to disable autoplay because every time a song or video completed, it would go right into an extremely dark and depressing video. The \"dark side of youtube\" had become the mainstream autoplay section, even logged out on a fresh IP. The dark themes were not centered on just the lockdown or \"coronavirus,\" it was dark and disturbing videos of all types and genres, seemingly to stir up the viewer's emotions and perhaps drive them to act irrationality. We also saw a new special section of youtube's front page get made specifically for mainstream media, which was initially only about lockdown and about how getting sick would mean certain death or at least the need for a \"ventilator.\" The symptoms were described vaguely in terms of certain fatality for those first two weeks, and \"Covid Toes\" wouldn't come until May 2020. There was no need to talk about the \"symptoms,\" only the endlessly repeated narrative that you would literally drop dead in the middle of the street, have trouble breathing, and have a seizure if you fell ill. The consequences had to be pretty extreme to justify the lockdown, and the total suspension of all Constitutional rights including freedom of assembly and freedom to practice religion. In NYS even the gun stores were declared \"non-essential\" so that right was also suspended.\n\nThe buzzwords being used in the timeframe I drew the art were \"masks\" \"ventilators\" \"herd immunity\" \"lockdown\" \"two weeks to flatten the curve\" and some others. The DNC debates had concluded 2 days before the lockdown. The impeachment of Trump related to Ukraine failed Feb 5th, 2020 and the \"impeach trump\" narrative became incoherent. Most people thought that the purpose of the \"flatten the curve\" was that \"everyone will certainly get sick, we need to balance the load of inpatients at the hospitals which are surely overflowing right now.\" We also got to see the nurses do choreographed dances for us all on tik tok. The masks were not initially popular and the mask \"mandate\" was not part of the initial \"flatten the curve.\" No one at work wore the masks until the media made vague claims of \"experts say\" to defend the \"mandate\" position when it was artificially introduced later on. The blue spun-plastic-fiber surgical spit masks were popular in my town as street wear in the February before the lockdown, perhaps related to the sudden mainstream rise of Tik Tok, which had promoted videos showing people in China wearing masks while dropping dead suddenly in the streets. Also in the meme gestalt were videos of Chinese hospitals packed with rows of fully-blanketed bodies shaking uncontrollably, all other faces fully masked. The \"mask culture\" was only a thing in South East Asian countries at the start of lockdown. Masks were not \"mandated\" in western countries or the USA until later.\n\n--------\n\nAs for the music, I grew up listening to this song~! I find dual meaning in the lyrics. The first thing I did when lockdown started was buy BTC for the first time after having just received my first paycheck as an engineer in the medical device manufacturing industry. The \"tough\" part is the \"time\" you have to wait after making the decision.\n\nThe USD switched from the gold standard to fiat in August 1971, the entire point of the USD paper was that you could exchange it at the bank for gold bullion, while the coins were made of 90% silver. After the change to \"fiat\" in 1971, the USD became backed by... well, it changes -- right now it's backed by \"ESG scores\" which are ratings that international companies give themselves. The scores are determined by metrics such as how \"diverse\" each employee appears, based on which checkboxes they ticked on the hiring documents. Another ESG metric may be whether or not the company has a \"gay pride club\" it can use to spy on its homosexual employees, and how many members the club has in ratio to total employees.\n\nFiat inflation is designed to function as a tax. When there are more fiat USD units introduced, your existing fiat USD units are worth less, but prices are higher, which means you have a taxable \"gain\" even though it's actually a loss. The only winners in fiat systems are the self-interested individuals who decide how the new fiat gets distributed. Fiat is a system of \"socially discriminatory credit,\" not a system of \"capital.\"\n\nEach drawing I make imprints a \"snapshot\" of the timeframe it was made in my memory. The era this one is from is particularly... lucid. Bad times. Thanks for bearing with me.\n\nTime tough (Time tough)\nEverything is going higher and higher (Higher and higher)\n\n<3",
