Why was this happening?! He didn't understand!
The day had started off so well, he even got to play one of mommy's special games. Though he didn't really understand these games, they made his mommy happy, and so they made him happy. Afterward he had been left to play on his own, while his mom cleaned herself up, as she usually did after one of their special games. But this time, something was off. Minutes turned to hours as the young Snivy waited for his mom to return from her routine bath. He began to worry, wondering why his mommy was taking so long. Driven by growing fear the child returned to the bedroom where they usually played their special games. He approached the door to the bathroom, a ghostly silence coming from within.
Slowly he pushed the door open, peeking his head inside the tiled chamber. Thick steam still lingered in the air, obscuring everything within. Tenatively the young Snivy stepped inside, for some reason feeling a chill run down his spine despite the humid atmoshere. He made his way to the side of the tub, spotting his mother's arm resting on the edge. "Mommy?" he tried to get her attention, but we met with only silence. "Mommy?" he repeated, this time reaching up to nudge her resting arm.
As soon as his tiny hands made contact, the arm slumped over the edge of the tub, a large knife falling from her hand and clattering to the floor. Her head followed suit, turning to look at her frightened child with cold lifeless eyes. The Snivy shrieked in terror, his young mind struggling to process what he was seeing. "Mommy?! Mommy! Wake up! Wake up mommy!" he jostled her body insistently, trying to get her to move. Water sloshed from the tub, bringing with it a distinct tint of crimson. He stepped back, the sheer horror of the situation overwhelming the poor child. He curled up on the floor weeping against his tail, desperately calling out to his mom. "Mommy... Please... Please wake up mommy... Please..."
Hours passed until the sobbing child had no more tears to give. He still didn't understand it, but somehow he knew, his mother was gone. Slowly he got back to his feet, and made his way back to the tub. He picked up the knife that had fallen to the floor, the wicked thing still stained with his mother's blood. He held the blade close, clutching it for dear life. It was the one thing he had to remember her by, and the one thing he would never part with.
