Shinxy... is that really you? Altan: Wow, that's really her. Shanon, Shinxy's mom... Shinxy: Y-Yeah... ummm... it's me... Shanon: There was a commotion at the pier... people were saying Lugia was here, but... I wasn't expecting to see you. Shinxy suddenly sprung forward and tightly hugged his mom around her waist, nuzzling his left cheek closely against her. She smiled and held Shinxy close. Crystal: This is so sweet... I might just cry... Shanon: How did you get here, son? Shinxy: I-I had a big adventure all over Sinnoh with my friends, and got all the gym badges! Shanon: My goodness, you really have grown! I'm very happy to see you, you have no idea. I missed you a lot, but there was no time for vacation... The Battle Frontier needed my services... Shinxy: It's okay! You don't have to apologize, I bet working here takes a lot of time. Shanon: It really does. Trainers from all over the world gather here after conquering their regions, and I'm utterly swamped with battles. But, it's close to closing time. Would you like to come over to my house? Your friends are welcome to join. Shinxy: Yes, of course! I'll tell you all about my adventure in Sinnoh! Come on, guys! Shinxy and his pals followed Shanon across the island to her home, which was located in the Survival Area by the foot of Stark Mountain. They entered her house, which was nothing special or fancy, but adequately sized. Shanon: Stark Mountain is the home of a legendary pokemon named Heatran. A mystical artifact in the mountain, the Magma Stone, keeps Heatran sealed inside so it doesn't rampage and cause an eruption. I help keep guard by the mountain, in case someone with ill intentions tries to steal the stone and unleash Heatran. It's happened about twice over the years, but no major damage has been done. Shinxy: Wow... Shanon: But enough about that, tell me about your adventure, my son. The day went from sunset to nighttime as Shinxy told the story of his adventure to his mom. From meeting Mew, his friends and his pokemon, to detailing every gym battle and encounter with Team Galactic, his interactions with his aura power thanks to the help of Mewtwo, and his battle with Commander Charon to save Lugia. Shinxy: ...And that's basically it. Shanon: Hahah, that's incredible! You really awakened your aura power as well? Shinxy: I did! Look at this! Shinxy focused his strength and his aura energy manifested around his body, making him glow a hue of yellow. Shanon chuckled and to Shinxy and the others' surprise, she did the same. Her aura took form around her body in the same manner of Shinxy's Altan: Woah, she can do that too! Mewtwo: And her aura energy is the same as Shinxy's. Shanon: Everyone has different auras, but the same kind can be passed down from your ancestors. It's no surprise yours is the same as mine. Mewtwo: Yours is warm and pure, just like your son's. Shanon: Why thank you. And thank you for helping my son awaken his. Mewtwo: Of course. Shanon: Sounds like you had a fantastic time in Sinnoh. I'm really proud of how you've grown. And I didn't even know that Professor C. was really evil, until I heard it on the news radio station on my pokegear! Oh, speaking of which, do you have a pokegear, Shinxy? Shinxy: Yeah, of course! Here. Shinxy handed Shanon his pokegear, and she registered her number in Shinxy's, and vice versa before handing it back to him. Crystal: Wait, you knew Professor C.? Shanon: Well yeah, he's famous! He bought out a place in the resort area, but I've never personally met him. To hear about his hidden identity and him getting arrested on the news is so bizarre. You think you know a guy. It makes me even more proud of Shinxy for helping to bring him down and save Lugia. Shinxy: Lugia let me catch him, too! He trusted me to keep him safe from more evil people. You want to meet him? Shanon: I'd be delighted to! But it can wait until tomorrow. I'm sure you've had an exhausting day today. Shinxy: Oh yeah, for sure. Between battling Candice, Charon and Volkner, and all that sailing around, today was the most exhausting on our entire journey. Shanon: Thankfully, tomorrow is a Sunday! The Battle Frontier closes on Sundays to give the facility leaders much needed rest. I typically spend all day resting and watching TV, but I'd love to hang out with you and your friends. Shinxy: Heck yeah, that's awesome! Shanon: Now, let's get to bed. You all have sleeping bags on you, right? Altan: Of course we do. You never know when you have to camp out when it comes to journeying all over a region. Shanon: Great, because there's only one bed and one couch here! Heheh. Well, goodnight everyone. Shinxy and his pals got to sleep in their sleeping bags in the living room, while Shanon went to sleep in her bed. The next day, after having a breakfast feast, Shanon took Shinxy and his friends on a tour of the island, showing them every area and wild pokemon that they have never seen in Sinnoh. Once done with their tour, they took to a beach on the outskirts of the island's Survival area. Shinxy let Lugia out to relax on the shoreline without crowds gathering around, and to let it meet Shinxy's mother, while Shinxy and Joey had a pokemon rival battle. Joey came out the victor, just like when they were much younger. Of course, the battle was quite close and came down to their last ones. Joey: Hahah, yes! Victory! Shinxy: Aaaww man, I still can't beat you? Joey: Some things never change, heh. But thank you for battling me, Shinxy! This will definitely help when I try the pokemon league again. Crystal: You're still going after that championship? Joey: If at first you don't succeed, right? My pokemon will get stronger and we'll win eventually! Lugia: That battle was quite fun to watch. It makes me happy to have let Shinxy take me along with him. Shanon: Both of you have grown so much, it's incredible! Makes me feel really old, haha! After bringing their pokemon to the pokemon center to heal, and to stop by the store for some barbecue equipment, they spent the rest of the day at the beach until sunset, grilling some treats for everyone and their pokemon. The beach was starting to look crowded, but only because every one of Shinxy, Altan, Crystal, Joey, and Shanon's pokemon were all brought out together to play and frolic. Shanon: You all have some very interesting pokemon. Shinxy: Your Suicune is so cool! Shanon: Thank you. Today has been such a blast. So, what's next for you, my son? Shinxy: Hmm? Shanon: There are many regions in the world with hundreds of pokemon you've likely never seen before. You've come all this way and have spent time with me like you wanted, so what will you do next? Shinxy: You're right... It was so much fun exploring Sinnoh, I'd love to see more places and pokemon. And with Lugia, my friends and I won't have to buy boat tickets anymore since we can just ride him everywhere. So, umm... you guys want to stick around with me? Crystal: You bet! I would love to explore new regions with you! Altan: Same here. Shinxy: What about you, Mewtwo? Mewtwo: This may surprise you, but I'd like to stay here with Shanon. Shanon: Huh? Why? Mewtwo: To help you protect this place and Heatran from any more malicious people. I suspect it would help make your life here easier without such a heavy burden on your shoulders. And Shinxy has grown strong enough to the point where he does not need me to be by his side all the time. Shanon: Your strength would be a big help, but... Shinxy? Shinxy: It's fine with me! I won't force any pokemon to stay with me if they don't want to. And you're strong enough to protect Mewtwo as well! Here, mom. Shinxy handed Mewtwo's pokeball to Shanon. Shanon: Thank you... I promise to protect Mewtwo with all my strength. Shinxy: Great! Now let's get back to eating! Altan, Crystal, you guys want to set out tomorrow? Altan: Where to? Shinxy: Maybe Kalos, or Unova, or wherever! Let's go see where the wind takes us! Crystal: Sounds like fun, I'm in! The group enjoyed the rest of their evening, and got plenty of sleep. The next morning, Joey set sail back to Sinnoh to attempt beating the Pokemon League once again. Afterwards, Shinxy, Altan, Crystal, Mewtwo and Shanon returned to the beach to bid farewell. Shinxy released Lugia into the water, and Altan and Crystal hopped on it's back. Shinxy stood by his mother for a little longer. Shanon: It was great to see you, my son. I must return to work soon, but just know you can call me any time with my number in your pokegear. You're welcome to return and see me again any time. It shouldn't be too hard with Lugia there! Shinxy gave his mother another close, tight hug. Shinxy: I'll see you again next time I explore a whole region and tell you all about it! Sound good? Shanon: Sounds great! Shinxy: Hahahah! Take good care of Mewtwo as well, okay? Shanon: Of course. Mewtwo: I will miss you, my trainer. Before you go, I would like a hug as well. Shinxy smiled and let go of his hug with Shanon to give Mewtwo a good squeeze as requested. A moment later, they let go and Shinxy stepped back to look upon his mother one more time. Shinxy: ...I love you, Mom. Shanon: I love you too, Shinxy. Now, enjoy your new adventures. Shinxy and Shanon let go of their hug, and Shinxy hopped onto Lugia's back with his friends. They each waved goodbye, and Shinxy commanded Lugia to set sail forward. Before long they were out of sight of the island and at the middle of the sea. Crystal: Riding Lugia's back is so much fun! Altan: It's felt like such a long time since our journey together started. Hard to believe it's over. Shinxy: Well, this one anyways! Let's see what else the pokemon world has in store for us! Altan: Heheh, yeah, let's go! Crystal: To the world beyond Sinnoh! Lugia kept it's glide across the water to a relaxing pace, as Shinxy, Altan and Crystal set forth to discover new lands to see and new pokemon to discover.
