The dark gray storm clouds disappeared, the rain stopped and the sky was clear and blue once again. Meanwhile, Commander Charon swam to a rock formation to get out of the water he had fallen into from a great height, only to be greeted by Dreike and Terra. Terra: Hmph. I didn't think you'd survive that fall. Charon: You brats... you ruined everything... I was going to make such a fortune ruling the Earth, you couldn't even imagine! Dreike: You already had a mansion in the resort area, and all that money you made parading around as some world-renowned masked scientist. But I guess to you greedy fools, enough money is never enough money. Charon: What... what are you gonna do to me now? Are you going to kill me with those aura powers? Terra: Not if you tell us how you were able to control Lugia and make it attack against it's will. Dreike: Yeah, we want answers. Charon: The Master Ball was modified with remnants of Team Galactic's Red Chain project that was once used to attempt to control Palkia and Dialga back in the day. It took several years to make that one Master Ball perfect, and you ruined it! That was the only one of it's kind! Dreike: Good to know there aren't any more of them. Now we'll spare you so you can rot in prison for the rest of your life. Terra: And we'll tell everyone that you're Professor C. too! You're going to jail, AND losing your celebrity alter-ego! Charon: Curse you both!! Dreike punched Charon in the head and knocked him unconscious, then lifted him over his shoulder. Dreike: I was getting tired of hearing his dumb voice. Come on, Terra, let's take our pal here to the Sinnoh P.D. Terra: Okay. Mewtwo took Shinxy back to land, on the beach's shoreline of Route 222. As they landed, they looked over at the scene of Felix, Altan, Crystal, Adam and Volkner, watching a couple dozen Team Galactic Grunts as well as the three commanders that they confronted on Iron Island being handcuffed by a large Sinnoh P.D. Police force. Altan and Crystal noticed Shinxy and Mewtwo land on the beach, and raced over to them. Crystal: Shinxy! You're okay! Altan: What happened up there? Shinxy: I could ask you what happened over here too. Altan: Well, Crystal and I, as well as Volkner, Felix and his friend, Adam, were fighting a large-scale pokemon battle to stop all those Team Galactic goons from getting into Sunnyshore City. Then the Sinnoh Police Department arrived and started shooting them with beanbags. Crystal: It was pretty funny, actually. I'd feel kinda bad for them if they weren't evil jerks. Those beanbags look like they hurt. Altan: I take it everything went well on your end too? Shinxy: You bet! I don't even know where to begin! We attacked Lugia, but it was too strong and could heal itself, then I was knocked out of the sky and Mewtwo saved me, then we did a sneak attack and Mew and I pickpocket-ted Lugia's and Deoxys' pokeballs and destroyed them both, setting them both free! Charon fell out of the sky, so I don't know if he's alive or not. Altan: If he landed in the ocean, then maybe. Shinxy: Dreike and Terra went after him, so either way they're taking care of it. Mew flew hovered out from Shinxy's coat again and did a few flips in the air, expressing it's happiness in a job well done.As they talked about what happened, Lugia flew over and descended before them in the water in front of the shoreline. Lugia: Ah, so this is where you decided to land. Mewtwo: I thought it would be the best place, considering our friends might have needed our help with that evil man's underlings, but it seems things were handled without us. Crystal: Woah, w-we're so close to Lugia! Altan: And it can talk telepathically like Mewtwo... Lugia: You must be Shinxy's friends. I apologize for attacking you before. I was being controlled. Altan: I-It's no big deal, please don't worry about it! Crystal: We're just glad you're okay! Shinxy: Yeah! So, with that all out of the way, can I catch you? Altan: Shinxy!! You're asking it that after everything that just happened?! Shinxy: What? Lugia is really cool! Crystal: Well yeah, but- Lugia: Yes, you may. Crystal and Altan: EEEEHHHHHH?!?!?! Altan: ...I-I think there's something wrong with my ears... Did I just hear that right? Lugia: I'm speaking telepathically. You hear my voice with your mind, not your ears. Altan: T-That's not the point! Crystal: Lugia, ummm... you were just captured and controlled for evil purposes... and now you want to be captured again? Shinxy: Yeah uhh, that's not the answer I was expecting. Mewtwo: I too am surprised by this development. Lugia: I understand you are all shocked. I have spent many decades traveling the seas of the earth and roosting nearby many lands. When I think about how that man was able to capture me so quickly after I came to shore today, it made me realize the only way he could've done so is if he was prepared. He seemed to know when and where I would appear. If one man was capable of doing so, there could be others. Altan: Okay, but, that was just one guy. Lugia: On the contrary, I've had to elude several undersea vessels over the years to escape capture. Shinxy, I'm capable of creating dangerous storms that could ruin lives. I do not want to be captured by malicious people and have my power abused again. Besides, I'm not ignorant to how pokeballs work. They don't typically take control over the pokemon they catch. Shinxy: That's true. You gotta build a trusting bond with your pokemon before they listen to you. But... are you sure about this? Lugia lowered it's neck, bringing it's head closer and to Shinxy's level of height. Lugia: Come. Place your hand on my forehead. After a short moment of hesitation, Shinxy slowly approached Lugia and placed his right handpaw on the large creature's forehead. Lugia: Your aura feels warm and pure. I will gladly entrust you to protect me from those who would abuse my power. You promise to do so, yes? Shinxy: I absolutely promise! But I can't promise I won't show you off to my friend, Joey, or my mom once I see her... heheh. Lugia: Hmhmhm, that is fine. I would also like to spend sometime outside of the pokeball every day. To enjoy the sun and fresh air. You wouldn't believe how much time I spend on the sea floor. Shinxy: You got it! And you know, you can tell me any time if you want me to set you free. Lugia: Very well. Whenever you are ready, place a pokeball on my head, and I will allow it to contain me. Shinxy took an empty pokeball from his bag, and tapped Lugia on the head with it. The legendary pokemon was captured successfully. Shinxy stood there and stargazed at the ball containing the legendary Lugia. Shinxy: Wow... Thank you, Lugia. I won't let you down! Crystal: Even after watching the whole conversation take place, I still can't beleive that just happened. Altan: Same here. ???: Neither do we! The group turned around to find Volkner, Felix, Adam, Dreike and Terra watching from a distance. Shinxy: Woah! You all saw that? Dreike: Yeah. In case you're wondering about Charon, he's alive, but we turned him in to the Police. He won't be getting out of jail for the rest of his life. Felix: You've really come a long way since we met outside of Jubilife City. I never imagined Lugia would let you catch it. Terra: You better take good care of it! Shinxy: I will, for sure! But, what about the rest of you? Dreike: I'm gonna continue having my own adventure. Be sure to call me again if you need me. Terra: I'm staying by Dreike's side. Even though Team Galactic is out of the picture for good, I enjoy spending time with him. He's even become like a big brother to me. Dreike: Eheheh. I gotta say I enjoy having you around, Terra. Adam: I will cooperate with the Sinnoh Police and allow them to confiscate anything they need from my lab. They've already agreed not to take me to jail along with my former colleagues, as long as I no longer use my engineering skills for evil. And I certainly won't. Felix: As for me, I'm not sure. Shinxy, you guys mind if I tag along with you for a little while? If I remember right, you only have one gym leader left to battle. I want to stick around and watch it. Shinxy: That's right, and sure you can! Volkner: And that gym leader is me. I haven't forgotten our arrangement. You have seven badges now, so you are ready to face me. Once I've taken my pokemon for a quick heal at the pokemon center, meet me in my gym. I'll be waiting. Volkner headed to Sunnyshore City, disappearing through the gated entrance. Shinxy: My pokemon could use a heal too, especially Noivern. Come on guys, let's get going! Once I've defeated Volkner, I'm off to the Battle Frontier! Crystal: Yeah, let's go! Altan: Right behind you, buddy. Felix: Heheh, I can't wait to see how you battle. The group headed through the gates to Route 222.
