Felix was by the shoreline wearing a peculiar suit, and Adam was communicating to him from his lab in Veilstone. Adam: How does the Galactic diving suit 2.0 feel on you? Felix: Comfortable enough. Will this really get me to the bottom of the sea floor? Adam: Of course it will! The first model made it down without letting the user get crushed by the pressure, and if anything, this one isn't much different besides the aesthetics. Of course, I recommend you bring a water type pokemon to get you to the deep-sea scanner faster. Felix reached into his bag, then tossed out a pokeball, releasing his Feraligatr. Felix: This big guy used to belong to Johnathan... I'm glad he can help me here. Adam: Yes yes, now please hurry! There's no telling how much time we have! Felix: Understood. Feraligatr, use Dive and take me down into the ocean! Felix hopped onto Feraligatr's back, and the large gator made it's way into the water. In only a short moment, Feraligatr began swimming it's way down deep into the ocean. Felix was fascinated by the sights as they stayed close to the ground, many water type pokemon swimming in groups passed them by, and the sun brightened up the water from the surface. Felix: Wow, it's so pretty... If only you could see what I'm seeing, Adam. Adam: I'm sure it's a great sight, but there's no time to admire it. Felix: Hahah, right. So, how am I supposed to find this deep-sea scanner? Adam: I'll guide you to it. It's a bit far off, though. If you hurry, you can make it in about twenty minutes. Felix: Okay. Let's go, Feraligatr! As Felix and his pokemon descended through the depts, it became harder to see. It didn't take too long before it became dark as night. Adam instructed Felix to activate the helmet's flashlight, by pressing a button on the right side of it. Their path became much clearer then. Felix: How much further? It's getting a bit spooky down here. Adam: You're not far from it, the scanner is actually picking up you and Feraligatr now. It's to your left, ten-o clock! Felix pointed his Feraligatr in the direction Adam was instructing, and the gator 'mon swam toward it. Shortly, they found the device in question rooted to the ground. Felix: Alright, I found it! How do I shut it down? Adam: There's a process that involves opening the side panel and pressing some buttons, but getting that thing open might take some time... However, a strong enough pokemon may be able to disable it by attacking it hard enough. I suggest the latter, time is of the essence. Felix: Say no more. Feraligatr, use- Before Felix could finish his command, a large shadow passed very close, shifting the water all around him and Feraligatr, then stopped. Felix slowly turned his head, and the flashlight toward the large figure, and revealed none other than the legendary pokemon, Lugia sitting before him. Felix: Uhh-... gghh... Adam: Felix? What's the matter? What are you looking at?... Felix?! Adam looked over at the scanner monitor, and found a large red circular dot detected by Felix and Feraligator's smaller dots.Felix just stared at the large legendary creature like a deer in headlights, short of breath and unable to move out of fear. Adam: FELIX! SNAP OUT OF IT! DESTROY THE SCANNER NOW!! Felix then shook his head, and out of the adrenaline rush, focused back on the deep-sea scanner. Felix: ...F-Feraligatr, use Brick Break on the metal device! Felix clinged tightly to his Feraligatr, as it lunged at the scanner and slammed a powerful chop to it, smashing it into two big pieces and disabling it completely. The scanner's monitor when static back at the lab, and Lugia took off. Lugia's swim caused a current that pushed back Felix and Feraligatr a few feet away, but they were unharmed. Adam: Felix! Are you okay! What's going on?! Felix: I-... I'm fine, Adam... So is Feraligatr... Felix was short of breath. Felix: I saw it... Lugia... it was looking right at us... I thought we were gonners. I guess Feraligatr spooked it when it destroyed the scanner? Adam: Either way, we were too late... Damn it... Felix: I-I'm really sorry, Adam. We could've gotten there sooner... Adam: Forget it, you aren't to blame here. This is all my fault for building the damn scanner and having it put there in the first place. Just get back to shore, I'm getting a call, and I bet I know who it is. Felix: Okay, I'll be right there. As Felix and Feraligatr began their trip back to shore, Adam answered his call. It was none other than his boss, Professor C. on the line. Professor C.: Commander Mercury! Did you also see the reading on the deep-sea scanner? It picked up a very large creature, then it went offline! Adam: Yes, I saw it. I can't really explain what happened, but the device was destroyed. Professor C.: It must have been Lugia! The deep-sea scanner could not handle it's immense power and shorted out! Adam: That's... A possibility. Professor C.: The day has finally come, I'm so excited, Commander Mercury! I'm heading to Sunnyshore City now, and calling over the other commanders to join me. I want you to be there too, to ensure nothing goes wrong. Adam: ...Yes, sir. The Professor ended the call, and Adam banged his right fist on the desk. Felix: I heard all of that. So, what now? Adam: I don't know... Damn it, I should've prepared a back-up plan for this! Gaahh, there's no time to dwell on the past, we need to stop the Professor from catching Lugia. Felix: Let's hurry to Sunnyshore. If we get there first, we can alert the residents and Volkner about what's going to happen, and we can fight back. Adam: That's the best we can do on such short notice.
