Altan and Crystal Brought forth Umbreon and Zangoose to counter. The two Commanders' strategy was highly defensive and evasive, rather than aggressive. It proved effective in minimizing damage to their highly durable pokemon. Crystal: Dangit! What are they doing?! Altan: They're using stall tactics. Their goal isn't to win this battle, but to keep us here for as long as possible. Pluto 2: Ya hit the nail on the head, kid. It ain't gonna be easy to break Torterra's defense. Venus 2: And my Togekiss will use Roost as many times as needed~ Crystal: This isn't good. We can't help Shinxy like this! Altan: He's come a long way since we first met him. He can handle himself. Pluto 2: Against Commander Saturn, the strongest Commander in Team Galactic? Ha! If that little punk actually wins, I'll eat my shoes! Shinxy made little progress in his battle. Commander Saturn's pokemon were on a completely different level than what he had experienced before. Despite Shinxy's progress as a trainer, his pokemon were defeated one by one. Shinxy's Rhydon and Quagsire were brought down by Saturn's Alakazam, which had incredible offensive capabilities as well as access to Energy Ball, a powerful grass type attack that Shinxy's ground types were four times weak to. Saturn's Alakazam was brought down by Arcanine's fierce speed and power, but Arcanine was soon defeated by Saturn's Crobat. Shinxy's Noibat made little damage to the opposing bat pokemon and Servine was brought down immediately. Shinxy was down to Mew, his last usable pokemon. Mew was able to retaliate against Crobat with a powerful Psybeam, but at that point Saturn had brought forth his Toxicroak, his Ace pokemon. Toxicroak's agility was enought to bypass Mew's psychic attacks and strike with Faint Attack, the dark type move bringing Mew down. Shinxy had lost the battle, defeating only two of Saturn's Pokemon. Shinxy: No... Shinxy ran to Mew, and picked up the fainted pokemon, cradling it softly against his chest. Altan and Crystal were still left being stalled by the other two Commanders. Crystal: Shinxy!! Altan: Damn it... get out of our way, you goons! Pluto 2: Hahahah! If you want us to get out of your way, then you gotta beat us first! Venus 2: You two can't even beat our first pokemon~ Crystal: You're not even fighting back! You're just protecting and healing! Commander Saturn and his Toxicroak approached the defeated Shinxy. Mewtwo mereley observed the events unfolding. Mewtwo: Oh, dear... I wonder what my trainer will do? Saturn: Not bad, kid. My pokemon are fully evolved, and I've spent many years training them since Cyrus' disappearance. You did much better than I thought you would. You can let those compliments lift your spirits, since that Mew belongs to us now. Shinxy: Shut your mouth! Shinxy returned Mew to it's pokeball and put it away in his bag, standing back up and glaring at Saturn. Shinxy: I never agreed to give you Mew if I lost! Saturn: Whether or not you agreed to it is irrelevant. Your pokemon are defeated, your friends can't help you, and you have nowhere to run. You will hand over the Mew now, or else. Shinxy: I don't care about your lousy threats! If you want my Mew, you'll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands! Mewtwo: Shinxy... Shinxy was overcome by anger and fear, but would not back down. His aura flared in response to his emotions, raising his fur as his body glowed a soft yellow. Shinxy: My pokemon might not be able to fight... but... I still can! Saturn: Heheh... Hahahah! You are stupidly brave, Shinxy. But that won't do you any good. If you're really willing to take a beating for your pokemon, I can help you with that. Toxicroak, knock this annoying trainer out with your Poison Jab! Shinxy braced himself as Toxicroak lunged at him, with posion liquid leaking from it's sharp finger. As Toxicroak approached, Shinxy concentrated his power and instinctively put his hands forward, and fired a ball of energy at the poison frog 'mon. Toxicroak was knocked back a few feet. Once it stood up again, it stopped it's attack. Saturn: What?! Toxicroak, attack! Shinxy: Huh...? Mewtwo: It seems you are finally starting to master your aura power, my trainer. Shinxy: Wow... I feel so strong! But why isn't Toxicroak attacking anymore? Mewtwo: Pokemon can sense your reserve power. Toxicroak realizes it can't beat you. Commander Saturn returned Toxicroak to it's pokeball, then prepared to get another pokeball from it's bag. However, Shinxy fired another ball of energy at Saturn as he did, knocking him down on his back. Saturn: Gaaahh! What are you doing, you twerp?! Pluto 2: You gotta be kiddn' me! That little brat has super powers?! Altan and Crystal both breathed a sigh of relief as Shinxy was saved. Altan: Phew... Gotta say, that's pretty cool. Shinxy: This isn't a pokemon battle anymore, Saturn. You might have beaten me on that front, but I'm not handing over any of my pokemon. If you want my Mew, you have to fight me yourself! I won't even give you the chance to send out another pokemon! Saturn: That's ridiculous! I won the battle fair and square! Shinxy: Yeah, you did. But now we're fighting for real. If you want my Mew, then you'll have to take me on yourself. But if you try to fight me, then I'm just gonna fire more of those aura attacks at you until you get knocked out. Mewtwo: Shinxy is still rather new at controlling this power, so he may not be able to hold back his attacks enough to not accidentally kill you. Shinxy: That... could happen too. So what'll be, Team Galactic? Saturn: ............. Venus 2: Boss! What's going on over there?! Saturn: ......Venus, Pluto. Pack your pokemon up. We're leaving. Pluto 2: What?! I thought you had won already! Saturn: I thought so too. But I'm not putting myself at risk for that Mew. It's not worth it. Pluto 2: Seriously?! Venus 2: Hmph, that weird kid raising the stakes too high. Screw this. If that damn professor C. wants that Mew he can get it himself. Commander Venus and Pluto returned their pokemon to their pokeballs, then regrouped with Commander Saturn. Altan and Crystal regrouped with Shinxy, keeping their Umbreon and Zangoose by their sides. Saturn: ...You are very fortunate today, Shinxy. I didn't realize you had powers like that girl the Professor was manipulating. Shinxy: I couldn't have gotten this power without Mewtwo. Mewtwo: This power was within you all along. I only unlocked it for you. Saturn: Hmph... I've been a trainer for many years, and never have I encountered one ready to fight like that. Other trainers would've just handed over their pokemon and set out to just catch more, but you are different. I don't know whether it's a kind heart, or a stupid brain. Maybe both. But at the very least, you've earned my acknowledgement. Altan: Whatever that's worth. Saturn: Come along, commanders, let's go. Our ship is waiting. The three officers began their leave, and headed toward their ship. Venus 2: Hmmm... The professor is gonna be awfully sore about us bailing. Saturn: So be it. We are too important for him to toss aside. And if he does, forget him. Pluto 2: That's right! He needs us, but we don't need him! But still, what a waste of time. Shinxy: Come on guys, let's get off this island. Altan: Yeah, I'm with you on that. Crystal: Mmhmm. We can come back and explore another time.
