Now then, Haunter, use Confuse Ray! Haunter glared it's sinister gaze once again. Shinxy had no counter for this move, so he had no choice but to let Growlithe become confused. Shinxy: You're okay, Growlithe! Now, use Flame Wheel! Growlithe gave Haunter a determined glare of his own, howling out and envoloping his body in fire. The fire dog completed his Flame Wheel, then lunged at the ghostly pokemon, dealing a direct hit. Shinxy: Nice! Way to go, Growlithe! Crystal: What is Shinxy planning? Mewtwo: I believe he plans on hoping his pokemon power through the confusion to deal damage to Fantina's Altan: That's all he can really do. If he switched his pokemon out, they'd just get confused too. Powering through is the smartest option he has. Fantina: A lucky break for you, how interesting~ Let's see if it holds up! Haunter, use Shadow Claw! Shinxy: You can stop it from getting close, Growlithe! Use Ember! Unfortunately for Shinxy, Growlithe couldn't power through the confusion on this turn. He began attacking itself, then Haunter got close and used it's Shadow Claw on the helpless canine. A critical strike knoced down Growlithe in a single hit, causing him to faint. Fantina: Oh dear. Now, what were you saying about pokemon going down in a single hit, again~? Shinxy returned Growlithe to his pokeball. He was frustrated, but still believed that he would win the battle. Shinxy: Fair enough. But I'm not done yet! Altan: That Haunter took down half of Shinxy's pokemon. Fantina wasn't lying when she said the easy part was over... Crystal: You can do it, Shinxy! Altan's Umbreon and Crystal's Zangoose even began to cheer out in support of Shinxy. Shinxy then took out another pokeball, tossing it onto the field. Shinxy: Alright, go, Mew! Mew emerged from the pokeball in the form of an Oshawott, as they had previously rehearsed. However, hearing it's trainer call out it's real name, left Mew confused. Mew: ...Osha? Altan: Shinxy! You're blowing your cover! Shinxy: Sorry, Altan, but that doesn't concern me right now. Having Mew stay in Oshawott form and only using Ice Beam may have worked against Gardenia, but if I want to beat Fantina's Haunter, I'm going to need to put more of Mew's moveset to use! I can indeed sense the aura of that pokemon doesn't quite match that of a typical Oshawott. Shinxy: Mew, go ahead and undo your transformation. You're gonna be fighting for real, no disguises! Mew became fired up, undoing it's transformation and began floating in place. It was excited to be able to fight a battle to it's fullest potential for once, and was determined to do Shinxy proud.
