But why do you sit upon a lake when a bird is meant to fly? \"\n\nThe bird thought on this for some time and said.\n\n\" What does it matter what I am, and what I am meant to be? What answer could ever be good enough for one who does not know what it means to be a bird?\"\n\nThe man too thought on these words for some time.\n\n\" I understand. I come to you for I feel I have lost sight of my arts. That my mind is dwindling as a drying stream. I fear what I have now will not be as good as it could be. \"\n\nThe bird raised its arms to the night sky with a deep sigh.\n\n\" You are here for answers, that is why you call me a master..but what I can teach cannot be instilled in the mind. Men and women think far too greatly on what is meant for them, what futures, what meanings, what troubles come their way. \"\n\n\" So fixated on these thoughts, you hesitate to act in the moment, and instead live on in doubts and dreams. If a fish were to think so deeply on how it breathed, it would surely drown in the river. If a bird thought on each and every flap of its wings, it would fall and die. \"\n\n\" A bird does not think on how it flies. It wishes to fly and so it does. A fish does not think how to breathe. It just does. Man does not need a reason to create their skill, nor a reason not to. In them it naturally occurs.
