"writing": "A day in the life of Shane Boder\n\nBy Sengir84\n\n6.30 AM. With the sounds of the city, Shane awakens. The dober boy is quite excited because it’s time for the season opening match of the soccer team. He kept up his training in the summer in his yard, but there’s nothing like the real thing with real opponents. \nOf course, there is a school day first, but as an above average student, he doesn’t think there is something to be worried about.\n\nAfter he cleans himself and gets dressed, he goes down where he is first greeted by the family dog Merza. The female Labrador and Shane bonded quite strongly ever since she came in the family as a pup, but this afternoon will be the first time that he won’t be taking her for a walk. He makes a mental note to make the walk in the evening a more active one to make up for lost time.\n\nHis parents already put up the dining table to get a good meal in in the morning. Shane’s father Gerard is a teacher at a local high school where Shane is probably going to next year. The school has quite an active soccer team and Shane watched them play some times when his dad was volunteering to take care of refreshments. Because the school is so close by, Gerard usually goes to school on a bicycle.\nShane’s mother, Caithlyn, is a stay-at-home mom. She runs a small web-based store because she build up a huge Disney collection, but over the years she felt like the pieces were better in the hands of others who could appreciate them more and has been slowly, but steadily selling them. \nBreakfast passes by mostly without anything interesting happening, but as Shane comes back from the restroom he overhears his parents talking about adopting another child. When he asks what his parents were talking about, they become slightly evasive though, so he doesn’t get much wiser. But the comment sticks in his mind as he gets on his bicycle to go to school.\n\nSchool starts at 8.30, so after greeting his parents and giving Merza another ruffle he hops on his bike. He has to go the opposite direction compared to his father, so they can’t cycle together for another year. Shane inquired about the school his dad works often enough, but he is very interested in the step forward and would’ve liked to hear more.\n\nSchool is mostly uneventful. Shane likes to do math problems, but his handwriting skills leave something to be desired. So during math sessions he gets extra hard problems while the rest of the class struggles with some multiplying, but when it comes to text exercises he struggles to write the answers in a very gracious way. It always looks kind of choppy and those lines to write in between…meh.\nPE is his favorite class. It doesn’t even matter to him what they’ll do. As long as he gets to be active and play with others, he’s happy. Today it’s dodgeball. He ends up in a team with a few of his friends and even though he gets thrown out halfway through the game, he still had a blast. \nIn the locker room his friends ask him if he noticed some stares from some of the girls in his class, but Shane responds negatively. It’s a quirk of his. Once he is doing something with sports, he tends to lose track of his surroundings. \nOnce he’s back in class it’s time for some reading exercises before it is time to lunch.\nFor lunch he has some baloney sandwiches. They’re pretty basic, but he doesn’t ask for much as long as there are no vegetables. He talks with a few friends and plays ball with a few others. Some kids from a neighboring school are on the field as well and the short school match ends in a victory for Shane’s team 2 to 1.\nIn the afternoon there are a few tests to see how much the kinds remembered from the morning classes. Shane scores slightly above average in most subjects, but gets picked on for his handwriting. Shane doesn’t care much though. We have computers right? Why should we write anything nowadays anyway…\n\nWhen school’s out it is a quick stop home to change his school bag to his sports bag. His soccer team is on the edge of town, so his mother usually brings him to practice and stays to help behind the bar until Shane is done. Sometimes Merza comes along too, but this time the Labrador is playing in the corner of the room with Gerard. Shane’s father came home not too long ago as well and took the opportunity to take Merza for the afternoon walk in Shane’s stead.\n\nAt the soccer club talk in the locker room is all about what everyone has been doing in the past few months. There are stories told about great vacations, new games and some talk about girls. The last group of guys (around the same age as Shane) get the most attention from the rest of the squad. Shane is pretty sure not everything they say is the truth, but hearing about the way the girls can make those guys feel makes him feel funny. He kind of wants that too some time.\n\nThe game is against another city. This time Shane’s team plays at home field, so there are quite a few people from around the city that he recognizes from last season. The opponents were also pooled together with Shane’s team last year, but there are some new kids in the team he hasn’t seen before. His eye immediately goes to the Cheetah boy with number 9. A new striker. That should be interesting. \nShane’s position is right midfield. He can use his stamina to aid in both offense and defense and can shoot from afar sometimes. Normally he just tries to pass the ball to one of the two strikers. His signature move is a rush along the sidelines and quickly pass the ball with his right just before he crosses the back line. One of the two main strikers is a Saint Bernard boy who is quite high and his headers are devastating, though his technique on the ball sometimes leave something to be desired. But it’s up to Shane to make sure the Saint Bernard doesn’t have to use too much technique by passing the ball accurately.\nThe game ends with a tie 3-3. Shane gave 2 assists, but the Cheetah was way too fast for the defenders of Shane’s team and they kept walking into a counter when a pass didn’t work out like they wanted. \n\nThere is some more locker room talk and the guys from the opposing team also make a short visit to compliment each other on a good game played. \nAfter the greets and sharing of contact information, Shane heads to the cafeteria to tell his mom they’re ready to go home.\nIt is 17.30 when they get home. Mom called Dad before they left, so he could get started on dinner and Shane only has to wait a few minutes before he can charge into his favorite: spaghetti bolognese. Shane sneaks a few meatballs under the table where Merza is laying between the legs of the rest of the family and the Labrador quickly licks them up. He gets caught by his mom when he does it the 3rd time and gets said to finish his plate by himself, but shortly afterwards Shane sees his mother do it herself too while she winks at him.\n\nWhen his homework is done it is 19:15 and he takes Merza to the dog park. He brings along her tennis ball and a stick. Shane makes sure Merza gets enough to do. There even was a woman with a dog around who got along quite well with Merza. Shane took place on the bench when he suddenly heard a loud splash. Merza jumped into the lake together with her new friend and they both went for the same frisbee. The dogs each had a bit of the frisbee in their mouth while they brought it to the woman and Shane. After being splashed by the dogs shaking of their excess water Shane figures it’s time to head home and take a bath.\n\nDad and mom found the situation quite funny and quickly sent the two upstairs to the bathroom. Shane insisted on bathing Merza and himself by himself and the parents complied. Shane was sure they were talking a bit more about those adoption plans.\nAfter their bath Shane took Merza out to dry her off. As he made his way from her head to her backside he suddenly felt a nose and a tongue against his sheath. This startled the boy a bit, but his body knew that the feeling was kind of nice. Shane read some stories about situations like this on the internet but never really thought it was a possibility with Merza. For now though he pushed the dog off of him a bit. He knew this was no time to go on a bodily investigation. His soccer game made things quite late already and he had a busy school day tomorrow.\nOnce he was dressed for bed and brought Merza back downstairs he gave his parents a goodnight kiss and went to bed. Once in bed he thought once more about the situations the boys told about in the locker rooms at school and at soccer and what happened with Merza after the bath. He felt the reaction from his body and his curiosity only rose. He was sure to have some nice time with the Labrador at a later date. And perhaps he should look more at the girls at school too…\n",
