“I still remember reading the report for the first time. The chain of events are still hard to piece together. Family and friends state that the female, Melody, was heartbroken when she discovered that her soon to be husband had found solace and love within the arms of another. She had hung herself in the tree of her home, the one she had hoped they would share, but not before having sliced off her own markings. Yet the perplexing piece of this puzzle is that two other bodies had been discovered murdered; that of her fiancé and his new lover. Their bodies had been found with their hearts ripped from their chests, and the organs were nowhere in sight. Melody would have been placed as the murderer, however, their times of death had been reporting as having taken place AFTER that of Melody’s self hanging. It’s been years since this incident, and the case was closed due to lack of remaining evidence. Yet…more bodies have been surfacing; each with their hearts missing from the corpses. Melody’s home has been left abandoned and crumbling. Perhaps I can still find something here? I’m not sure.”
Even now it feels like the home cries and creaks with every step I take. Each breath is heavy, like someone is pressing against my chest. I don’t know if it’s the house, or my own uncertainty, but I feel as if someone is watching me here. All the mirrors had been covered. I’m not sure if this was done by Melody herself, or someone else. It keeps getting worse. I fear simply turning around. This presence just keeps getting closer, only to vanish each time. I swear I can feel breath on neck. Going up these stairs is the worst. My hands are shaking so badly. There’s a heavy pounding coming from nearby, and the worst part is, I can’t tell if it’s the drumming of my own heart, or the raspy whisper and shuffling motions coming from the attic. I’m beginning to think Melody has never departed from this dusty, old house…”
“It couldn’t have been her…or if it was…what has she become?! What I saw in that house…what…is that what was…I can’t even…it’s not possible!”
