"As the Scout was transformed from a flesh and blood human to another doll, I looked at the handheld computer in my hand, turning over ideas of what to do with it. Finally, a light bulb flickered to life inside my brain; I'd do as before and re-purpose it to her needs! Turning out the transforming human for now, I put my focus and effort into the little device, molding and altering it. It was like watching metal, plastic and glass warping like a child holding a ball of Silly Putty in their hand. With a bit of difficult work and effort, I soon started to see it taking the shape I desired.
Strangely, it was complete at the same time the small plush mouse seated before me was. What had once been a handheld computer that needed to be connected to a pair of goggles was now a cute set of glasses; however, all of the computing power had been refined into the frame and lenses, which would let her look at anything she needed to repair or program and see exactly how to do so. I don't normally make things with a scientific lean often, so I allowed myself to feel a bit of pride in my heart at my handiwork. I opened the frame's 'arms', and turned them to the mouse before me.
"I'm a man of my word, my dear; I have much to do and repair around the manor that Rochelle can't, and you and your friends shall indeed leave the manor now and then; but I never clarified you'd leave as you were nor that you wouldn't always return later. Still, best you get right to work, hmm?" I then set the glasses neatly on the doll's muzzle, the arms designed to rest over her ears. "Now then Berry, I have a computer upstairs in the lab, and I have no idea how to make it work." The new maid opened her eyes, looked up at me, and smiled.
"Not to worry, Master; you likely just needed to have the operating system install itself first. I'll go take a look right away." Hoping down from hr seat, Berry ran off out the door as soon as it appeared. Maybe I should try visiting a library next time I went to a world and get some experience with a computer... At least I now have SOMEONE who knows what she's doing with programs and the like in the staff."
