Rain was pouring down heavily outside as I can hear it hitting the window. The low rumble of thunder echoes from outside as the storm slowly passes through. The window blinds were closed, but the flashing of red and blue lights shined through faintly.

Shade was sleeping peacefully in bed. Well... I say peacefully, when I was sleeping on top of her. Once she rolled over and swapped places with me, it was fifty-fifty on what was going to happen. She was either going to move slightly where it was equal to her snuggling me and it is pleasant, or she moves a lot and continously shifts around in the bed.

Granted, she has told me that ever since she started sleeping together with me, it has gotten better for her sleeping. Kitsuno can attest to this as she has seen her sleep more soundly than previous times in their past. I am glad that I am making her feel better, I really am.

But god damn it there are times where I wake up and want to get up and she is like dead weight. I wiggled around underneath Shade and squirmed out from under her body. Getting my hands out from under her and gripping onto the edge of the bed, I pulled myself out slowly before falling down and landing chest first onto the floor.

Picking myself up off the floor, I let out a small yawn before stretching. Looking back at Shade, she was still in a deep sleep. Pulling my tail out from underneath her, I walk over and give her butt a playful squeeze before walking out of the room into the living room. Out in the living room was her sister Kitsuno, who was sitting on the couch in her green pajamas and was deep in reading a book.

I walk up to her and sit down next to her on the couch. "Heya Kit, how's it going?" Her ears twitch a bit before she looks up from her book and looks at me. "Morning Melissa." She then looks over my nude body and returns to her book. "I take it you slept well?"

Stretching my legs a bit before looking at her book. "I slept fine until Shade rolled on top of me. It's nice and all to have a warm fluffy blanket to cuddle and fuck, but there are moments where it's hard to be under her." I then look back at the room as I heard Shade stirring around in bed. "Especially when she starts squirming in bed to get comfortable."

Kitsuno chuckles a bit before turning a page in her book. "I know what you mean. She can be very clingy when sleeping, then you got her like that." She then grabs a bookmarker on the edge of the couch she was sitting on and placed it where she stopped at before closing it and putting it down on the couch.

Getting up off the couch, she walks on over into the kitchen area and grabs the loaf of bread on the counter to open it and pull out some bread. "Want some bread toasted Mel?" Turning my head back to her, I gave it some thought and nodded. "How many you want?"

"I'll take two." Kitsuno dug out the bread for me and popped it into the four slice toaster to get it started. "What jelly do you want with it, grape or apple?" I walked over towards the window to take a look outside as I still saw the flashing lights going on. "I'll go ahead and take apple." Peering through the curtains, I looked around to see where the lights were coming from and saw a few police cars parked out somewhere on the other street. Though it was hard to see from this angle as the edge of the building cuts off the view from the street where we were.

"Hey Kit, what's going on outside?" I turn around to see Kitsuno digging out some spreader knives for the toast and had both jellies sitting out and a jar of peanut butter. "Not sure really. Possibly another arrest cause they were there a while by now. I woke up earlier because of the sirens and decided to catch up on my reading."

I try to focus on the lights to see if I can spot anything but then a bright flash jolts me away from the window as lightning stuck nearby and a loud boom echoes. "Jeezus, okay then." Stepping away from the window, I walked on over to the kitchen. And just in time too as the toast pops up from the toaster.

I grab a piece and the apple jelly to open it up as Kitsuno slides a knife for me. Once the jar was opened, I take the knife to sink it in the jelly to scoop some out and began spreading it on the toast. Kitsuno did the same with her toast with the grape jelly. Once she had one slice coated with a fair amount of jelly on it, she placed it down on top of the lid of the jar and grabbed the next slice of toast and she opened up the peanut butter. I looked at her questioning what she was doing. "Uh... Kit? Whatcha doing there?"

She looks over at me as she started scooping out the peanut butter with another knife. "What?" I gesture at her with the peanut butter. "Have you never tried it this way before? I shake my head, "No I have not. I never even gave a thought about peanut butter on toast." She then pulls out a decent amount to spread onto her toast and I took a bite out of my toast as I watch her apply a thick layer onto it.

Once she had a generous amount onto it, she placed the knife into the peanut butter jar and took both halves of her toast to turn it into a sandwich. I swallowed what I had in my mouth and looked at her sandwich. "That's quite a thick sandwich, need some milk with that?" Kitsuno shakes her head, "Nah, this will be fine. Plus, we ran out of milk yesterday. Haven't been to the store yet to get some more." I gave her a narrow stare as I watch her take a bite out of the thick sandwich.

Thunder roars again outside as light flashes through the edges of the curtains. I then look over to the bedroom and saw Shade stir around in her sleep as a pillow falls off the edge of the bed. "Man, how can she sleep through that?" Kitsuno chews through her food a bit before swallowing hard and let out a small cough from possibly the peanut butter sticking in her throat. "When she gets this tired, she'll sleep through damn near anything. I still remember the time we made camp and we had one of those summoned creatures appear nearby. Well that one was one that explodes shortly after death and it damaged several trees near it that crashed very close to us. That woke me up for sure and I couldn't sleep much after," she then gestures a hand towards her sister. "Shade on the other hand. Slept like nothing ever happened."

She then take another bite out of her sandwich and chewed through it a while. I finished one of my slices and got started on making the next slice. Once she swallowed, she coughed a little bit before getting up to open the fridge slowly with one hand and reached in to grab a bottle of water to open the cap up and take a swig of the cold liquid to clear her throat.

"The next morning, she questioned what had happened to the camp because of the trees laying over some stuff and I had to explain it to her what happened as I investigated it after everything got quiet a while after the explosion. I will have to give it to her on resting hard because that was the day after we had went to explore a fortress that was overrun with bandits. And we were told to kill anything that was alive."

I finished making my second toast slice with jelly and licked the dull edge of the knife to clean some of the jelly off of it. "I think I've heard of that. Something about a couple mercenaries wiping out a group that was shaking down nearby barracks of the imperial army." Kitsuno takes another sip of her drink and sits her bottle down on the counter. "That's the one. The army stationed there couldn't get reinforcements established in time as the assaults were growing constant. Shade and I caught wind and offered some assistance for some pay. I will say that their leader was the biggest pain in the ass to fight. Heavy armor and having the effects of stone flesh. Biggest sponge for Shade to hit."

"Even when she went full fury?" She nods as she takes another bite of her sandwich. I started biting into my next slice as I walked over to the sink to put the knife in it. After a few bites I finished mine and Kitsuno had finished her sandwich. She takes the knives she used and put them in the sink and turned it on to wash her hands.

As I turn around to head to the bathroom, I saw the lights from outside fading. "Looks like whatever they were doing are done with." Kitsuno looks at the window as she turned the sink off and grabs a paper towel to wipe her face off. "Looks like it. We'll have to do some searching to see what happened." She grabs another sheet of paper towel to wipe off the counter and put away the jelly and peanut butter.

Kit then walks over towards Shade's bedroom to look at Shade. Who was now splayed over her pillows and the blanket was partially over her back. "Hopefully she wakes up soon. Don't want her to miss out finding the stuff she needs." She then walks off to her room to head to her bathroom to get showered and cleaned up. I watch as Shade stretches and I hear her back pop a few times as she stirs a bit before I walk into the bathroom in our room to turn on the lights and get showered myself.
